Neutrophil extracellular traps mediate the crosstalk between glioma progression and the tumor microenvironment via the HMGB1/RAGE/IL-8 axis显示文摘Objective:Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)produced by tumor-infiltrating neutrophils(TINs)are associated with poor prognosis in patients with several types of cancer. However, the mechanisms underlying the involvement of NETs in glioma progression remain largely unknown. This study aimed to elucidate the roles of NETs in biological processes that drive the crosstalk between glioma progression and the tumor microenvironment. Methods:Neutrophil infiltration and NETs formation were investigated in glioma tissue through immunohistochemistry, and their relationships with clinicopathological features and outcomes were statistically evaluated. The effects of NETs on glioma cell progression were studied in a co-culture system. In vivo and in vitro experiments validated the reactive oxygen species activity and cytokine production of TINs,as well as the ERK signaling pathway activation and the metastasis of gliomas. Results:Neutrophil infiltration and NETs formation were induced in high-grade glioma compared with low-grade glioma.NETs induced by TINs were determined to be an oncogenic marker of high-grade gliomas and to be involved in cell proliferation and invasion.NETs overproduction promoted glioma cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.Furthermore,HMGB1 was found to bind to RAGE and activate the NF-κB signaling pathway in vitro. In addition,NETs stimulated the NF-κB signaling pathway, thus promoting IL-8 secretion in glioblastoma.Subsequently,IL-8 recruited neutrophils which in turn mediated NETs formation via the PI3 K/AKT/ROS axis in TINs.Conclusions:Our results suggest that NETs produced by TINs mediate the crosstalk between glioma progression and the tumor microenvironment by regulating the HMGB1/RAGE/IL-8 axis.Targeting NETs formation or IL-8 secretion may be an effective approach to inhibit glioma progression. | Caijun Zha Xiangqi Meng Lulu Li Shan Mi Da Qian Ziwei Li Pengfei Wu Shaoshan Hu Shihong Zhao Jinquan Cai Yanhong Liu | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1: | 19
Skeletochronological Study of Age,Longevity and Growth in a Population of Rana nigromaculata(Amphibia:Anura) in Sichuan,China显示文摘A skeletochronological study was conducted for the age, longevity and growth of a Rana nigromaculata population in northeastern Sichuan, China. Of 139 specimens, 119(68 males and 51 females) exhibited distinct arrested growth lines in phalanges. Age at first reproduction was found to be two years of age for males and three for females. Maximum longevity was estimated to be at least six years in males and seven years in females. Average age did not differ between males and females. Breeding females were significantly older than breeding males. Females were larger in body size and heavier in body mass than males. Age was not correlated with body size and body mass in males, but a significant correlation was found among age, body size and body mass in females. The growth curve appeared significantly different between the sexes, with a higher growth rate throughout life and a larger asymptotic size in females. Moreover, analysis of the growth model indicated that the population studied was relatively stable. | Min MAO Yan HUANG Zhiping MI Yanhong LIU Caiquan ZHOU | 2012 | Asian Herpetological Research2012,3,3: | 3
Asymmetry of Testes in Guenther's Frog,Hylarana guentheri(Anuar:Ranidae)显示文摘Testes size in most animals commonly shows directional asymmetry. In birds, the left testis mass is usually larger than the right one,but the reports on the testes asymmetry in anurans are very few.M?ller(1994)hypothesized that the right testis serves a compensatory role and increases in size when the left one is defective, and further suggested that testes asymmetry may be a reliable indicator of individual body condition. In this paper,we tested the compensation hypothesis in the Guenther's frog,Hylarana guentheri. From 60 sampled males,we found that there was a signifi cant directional asymmetry in testes mass, with the left testis size being significantly correlated with relative testes asymmetry, providing evidence that the right testis had a compensatory function. However, testes mass and asymmetry were not correlated with body condition.Hence,we found no evidence that testes asymmetry in the Guenther's frog ref lected male condition, and male age was also not related to testes mass or asymmetry. | Yanhong LIU Wenbo LIAO Caiquan ZHOU Zhiping MI Min MAO | 2011 | Asian Herpetological Research2011,2,4: | 3
Dopaminergic Neurons in the Ventral Tegmental–Prelimbic Pathway Promote the Emergence of Rats from Sevoflurane Anesthesia显示文摘Dopaminergic neurons in the ventral tegmental area(VTA)play an important role in cognition, emergence from anesthesia, reward, and aversion, and their projection to the cortex is a crucial part of the'bottom-up'ascending activating system. The prelimbic cortex(PrL)is one of the important projection regions of the VTA.However, the roles of dopaminergic neurons in the VTA and the VTADA–PrL pathway under sevoflurane anesthesia in rats remain unclear. In this study,we found that intraperitoneal injection and local microinjection of a dopamine D1 receptor agonist(Chloro-APB)into the PrL had an emergence-promoting effect on sevoflurane anesthesia in rats, while injection of a dopamine D1 receptor antagonist(SCH23390)deepened anesthesia. The results of chemogenetics combined with microinjection and optogenetics showed that activating the VTADA–PrL pathway prolonged the induction time and shortened the emergence time of anesthesia. These results demonstrate that the dopaminergic system in the VTA has an emergence-promoting effect and that the bottom-up VTADA–PrL pathway facilitates emergence from sevoflurane anesthesia. | Yanping Song Ruitong Chu Fuyang Cao Yanfeng Wang Yanhong Liu Jiangbei Cao Yongxin Guo Weidong Mi Li Tong | 2022 | Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,4: | 3
Skeletochronological Study on Age Structure of a Chinese Endemic Frog(Rana omeimontis)显示文摘We used skeletochronology to estimate age structure of the Omei Wood Frog, Rana omeimontis, from southwestern China.Average age differed significantly between males and females.Age at sexual maturity in both males and females was 1 year. Longevity was 6 and 7 years for males and females, respectively. Average body size differed significantly between the sexes, with females being larger than males. A non-significant correlation between age and body size was found within each sex in this population. The ANCOVA analysis revealed that females also had larger body size than males when the effect of age was controlled. | Wencao LIU Yanhong LIU Yan HUANG Zhiping MI Cao LI | 2012 | Asian Herpetological Research2012,3,3: | 1

Expert consensus on prevention and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for cardiac arrest in COVID-19显示文摘Background:Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)strategies in COVID-19 patients differ from those in patients suffering from cardiogenic cardiac arrest.During CPR,both healthcare and non-healthcare workers who provide resuscitation are at risk of infection. The Working Group for Expert Consensus on Prevention and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest in COVID-19 has developed this Chinese Expert Consensus to guide clinical practice of CPR in COVID-19 patients.Main recommendations:1)A medical team should be assigned to evaluate severe and critical COVID-19 for early monitoring of cardiac-arrest warning signs.2)Psychological counseling and treatment are highly recommended, since sympathetic and vagal abnormalities induced by psychological stress from the COVID-19 pandemic can induce cardiac arrest.3)Healthcare workers should wear personal protective equipment(PPE).4)Mouth-to-mouth ventilation should be avoided on patients suspected of having or diagnosed with COVID-19.5)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression are recommended.6)Tracheal-intubation procedures should be optimized and tracheal-intubation strategies should be implemented early.7)CPR should be provided for 20-30 min.8)Various factors should be taken into consideration such as the interests of patients and family members, ethics, transmission risks, and laws and regulations governing infectious disease control.Changes in management:The following changes or modifications to CPR strategy in COVID-19 patients are proposed:1)Healthcare workers should wear PPE.2)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression can be implemented to reduce or avoid the spread of viruses by aerosols.3)Both the benefits to patients and the risk of infection should be considered.4)Hhealthcare workers should be fully aware of and trained in CPR strategies and procedures specifically for patients with COVID-19. | Wei Song Jie Wei Xiangdong Jian Deren Wang Yanhong Ouyang Yuanshui Liu Xianjin Du Ying Chen Yingqi Zhang Heping Xu Shuming Xianyu Qiong Ning Xiang Li Xiaotong Han Feng Zhan Tao Yu Wenteng Chen Jun Zhang Wenwei Cai Sheng’ang Zhou Shengyang Yi Yu Cao Xiaobei Chen Shunjiang Xu Zong’an Liang Duohu Wu Fen Ai Zhong Wang Qingyi Meng Yuhong Mi Sisen Zhang Rongjia Yang Shouchun Yan Wenbin Han Yong Lin Chuanyun Qian Wenwu Zhang Yan Xiong Jun Lv Baochi Liu Yan Cao Xiaojun He Xuelian Sun Yufang Cao Tian’en Zhou | 2021 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,6: | 0

Different kinds of polyphenols and organic acids in 11 different brand cigarette samples at home and abroad were classified by the method of cluster analysis. The results indicated that the 11 samples could be classified into 2 classes. Suyan, Furongwang, Chinese, Baisha, Dihao, Yunyan, Hongtashan belonged to type 1; foreign cigarettes that represented by Marboro, Blue pacific and Brazil cigarette belonged to type 2. The content of malic acid and citric acid in type 1was higher than type 2, the content of malonic acid was higher in type 2, and there is no difference between the type 1 and type 2 about the content of polyphenols. In conclusion, the content of malic acid and citric in Chinese cigarettes was higher than foreign, but the content of malonic acid was lower than foreign. There is no difference between Chinese cigarettes and foreign cigarettes about the content of polyphenols. | Lan MI Bilong DAI Yu QIN Wenjun ZHANG Zhen XIONG Yanhong WANG Ting ZHU | 2015 | Agricultural Science & Technology2015,16,10: | 0 |
Altitudinal Variation in Digestive Tract Length in Yunnan Pond Frog (Pelophylax pleuraden)显示文摘The digestive tract plays an important role in digestion and the acquisition of food energy. Understanding the impact of abiotic environments on digestive tract morphology is especially important for evolution of digestive tract across different environments. Here, we investigated altitudinal variation in digestive tract length in the Yunnan Pond Frog(Pelophylax pleuraden) across five populations ranging from 1413 m to 1935 m a.s.l. in Ningnan County, Sichuan province in western China. Frogs were collected during the breeding season, from 1–5 June 2012. Our results revealed that females had longer digestive tract and relative digestive tract(i.e. digestive tract length / body size) lengths in comparison to males, on average, but the differences between them decreased with increasing altitude. Digestive tract and relative digestive tract lengths increased with increasing altitude suggesting that a higher proportion of indigestible materials may be consumed at high-altitude sites and result in a relative increase in digestive tract dimensions. | Shangling LOU Yanhong LI Long JIN Zhiping MI Wenchao LIU Wenbo LIAO | 2013 | Asian Herpetological Research2013,4,4: | 0
Analysis of effects of front and back surface dopants on silicon vertical multi-junction solar cell by 2D numerical simulation显示文摘The silicon vertical multi-junction(VMJ)solar cell has a good potential in high concentration, but it requires high quality front and back surface passivation layers to keep its high efficiency. We try to add dopants into the front and back surfaces of the VMJ cell to release this strict requirement in this work. The effects of recombination velocities, doping types and doping profiles of front and back surfaces on the performance of the P-type VMJ cell were calculated under 1 sun and 1000 suns. The 2D numerical simulation tool TCAD software was used. The performance of the VMJ cell without front and back surface dopants was also calculated for comparison. It was found that the requirement of high quality front and back surface passivation layers could be released remarkably by adding either N-type or P+-type front and back surface dopants. For the two types of front surface dopants, the highest efficiencies of the cells were got by light dopant;for the two types of back surface dopants, the doping type and profile affected little on the performance of the cell in our calculation range. It was also found that the series resistance of the VMJ cell with N-type front surface dopant was decreased by the 2D effect of front surface emitter. The VMJ cell with P+-type front surface dopant had the highest efficiency under 1000 suns and the VMJ cell with N-type front surface dopant had the highest efficiency under 1 sun in our calculation range. | XING YuPeng HAN PeiDe WANG Shuai LIANG Peng LOU ShiShu ZHANG YuanBo HU ShaoXu ZHU HuiShi MI YanHong ZHAO ChunHua | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,11: | 0
