| 5 | Plasma metabolomics identifies metabolic alterations associated with the growth and development of cat显示文摘Background:The purpose of our study was to study the composition and content of the feline plasma metabolome revealing the critical metabolites and metabolic pathways associated with age during growth and development.Methods:Blood samples were collected from juvenile and adult groups for blood routine tests and serum biochemistry tests.Non-targeted metabolomics analyses of plasma were also performed to investigate changes in metabolites and metabolic pathways.Results:In this study,we found that the red blood cell counts,liver function indexes(albumin and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase),and the concentration of triglyceride and glucose changed significant with growth and development.The metabolomics results revealed that 1427 metabolites were identified in the plasma of young and adult cats.Most of these metabolites belong to major classes of lipids and lipid-like molecules.The most obvious age-related metabolites include reduced levels of chenodeoxycholate,taurocholate,cholate,and taurochenodeoxycholate but increased levels of L-cysteine and taurocyamine in the adult cat's serum.These metabolites are mainly involved in the primary bile acid biosynthesis pathway,the bile secretion pathway,and the taurine and hypotaurine metabolism pathway.Conclusion:This study revealed many age-related metabolite alterations in the feline plasma.These age-varying metabolites,especially in the bile acid biosynthesis and secretion metabolism pathways,indicate that the regulation of these pathways is involved in the growth and development of cats.This study promotes our understanding of the mechanism of feline growth and provides new insights into nutrition and medicine for cats of different ages. | Shuaiyang Liu Yun Chen Xiaoming Wang Shuang Wang Lan Bai Xu Cheng Juan Wan Yufeng Hu Yi Ding Xin Zhang Mingxing Ding Hongliang Li Manli Hu | 2023 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2023,6,4: | 0 |
| 6 | Distribution and Functional Characteristics of Voltage-Gated Sodium Channels in Immature Cochlear Hair Cells显示文摘Voltage-gated sodium channels(VGSCs)are transiently expressed in cochlear hair cells before hearing onset and play an indispensable role in shaping spontaneous activity.In this study,we showed that Na^+currents shaped the spontaneous action potentials in developing mouse inner hair cells(IHCs)by decreasing the time required for the membrane potential to reach the action-potential threshold.In immature IHCs,we identified 9 known VGSC subtypes(Navl.la-l.9ot),among which Navl.7a was the most highly expressed subtype and the main contributor to Na+currents in developing hair cells.Electrophysiological recordings of two cochlea-specific Navi.7 variants(CbmNavl.7a and CbmNavl.7b)revealed a novel loss-of-function mutation(C934R)at the extracellular linker between segments 5 and 6 of domain II.In addition,post-transcriptional modification events,such as alternative splicing and RNA editing,amended the gating properties and kinetic features of CbmNavl.7a(C934).These results provide molecular and functional characteristics of VGSCs in mammalian IHCs and their contributions to spontaneous physiological activity during cochlear maturation. | You Zhou Chenchen Xia Manli Yi Xueling Wang Hao Wu Yonghua Ji | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Is ecstasy-induced protracted symptom of motion perception associated with altered regional homogeneity of brain?显示文摘The synthetic hallucinogen 3,4-methylenedioxymet hamphetamine (MDMA) is the main psychoactive constituent of the popular recreational drug 'ecstasy.' Whether its neurotoxic effects are fully reversible is unknown.Here we report a patient with protracted syndrome induced by ecstasy. A 31-year-old female came to the psychiatric clinic and complained of a more than 7-year abnormality of motion perception.She described the symptom to be similar to 'head-shaking.'
