| 1 | Investigation of operational parameters for an industrial CFB combustor of coal,biomass and sludge显示文摘The combustion of coal and/or biomass (sludge, wood waste, RDF, etc.) in a circulating fluidized bed has been a commercial topper for over20 years, and references to principles and applications are numerous and widespread although few data are presented concerning the operation oflarge scale CFB-units. The authors studied the CFB-combustion at UPM-Kymmene (Ayr), a major paper mill relying for its steam production uponthe combustion of coal (80-85%), wood bark (5-10%) and wastewater treatment sludge (5-10%). The maximum capacity of the CFB is 58 MWth.A complete diagnostic of the operation was made, and additional tests were performed to assess the operating mode. The plant schematics,relevant dimensions and process data are given. To assess the operation of the UPM-CFB, it is important to review essential design parameters andprinciples of CFB combustors, which will be discussed in detail to include required data, heat balance and flowrates, operating versus transportvelocity, kinetics and conversion (including the possible effect of the Bouduard reaction if carbon is present).Since the residence time in the riser and the cyclone efficiency determine the burnout of circulating fuel-particles, the UPM-CFB was subjectedto a stimulus response technique using nickel oxide as tracer. Results illustrate the efficiency of the cyclone separation and the number of recycleloops for particles of a given size. | 2 | Instrumented and Vickers Indentation for the Characterization of Stiffness,Hardness and Toughness of Zirconia Toughened Al_2O_3 and SiC Armor显示文摘Instrumented and Vickers indentation testing and microstructure analysis were used to investigate zirconia toughened alumina(ZTA) and silicon carbide(SiC).Several equations were studied to relate the Vickers indentation hardness,Young's modulus and crack behavior to the fracture toughness.The fracture in SiC is unstable and occurs primarily by cleavage leading to a relatively low toughness of 3 MPa m^(1/2),which may be inappropriate for multi-hit capability.ZTA absorbs energy by plastic deformation,pore collapse,crack deviation and crack bridging and exhibits time dependent creep.With a relatively high toughness around 6.6 MPa m^(1/2),ZTA is promising for multi-hit capability.The higher accuracy of mediar equations in calculating the indentation fracture toughness and the relatively high c/a ratios above 2.5suggest median type cracking for both SiC and ZTA.The Young's modulus of both ceramics was most accurately measured at lower indentation loads of about 0.5 kgf,while more accurate hardness and fracture toughness values were obtained at intermediate and at higher indentation loads beyond 5 kgf respectively.A strong indentation size effect(ISE) was observed in both materials.The load independent hardness of SiC is 2563 HV,putting it far above the standard armor hardness requirement of 1500 HV that is barely met by ZTA. | Aleksandra Nastic Ali Merati Mariusz Bielawski Manon Bolduc Olaniyi Fakolujo Michel Nganbe | 2015 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015，31，8： | 6 |

| 9 | Four cancer cases after esophageal atresia repair: Time to start screening the upper gastrointestinal tract显示文摘Esophageal atresia(EA) is one of the most common congenital digestive malformations and requires surgical correction early in life. Dedicated centers have reported survival rates up to 95%. The most frequent comorbidities after EA repair are dysphagia(72%) and gastroesophageal reflux(GER)(67%). Chronic GER after EA repair might lead to mucosal damage, esophageal stricturing, Barrett's esophagus and eventually esophageal adenocarcinoma. Several long-term follow-up studies found an increased risk of Barrett's esophagus and esophageal carcinoma in EA patients, both at a relatively young age. Given these findings, the recent ESPGHAN-NASPGHAN guideline recommends routine endoscopy in adults born with EA. We report a series of four EA patients who developed a carcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract: three esophageal carcinoma and one colorectal carcinoma in a colonic interposition.
