| 1 | Selective hydrogenation of N-heterocyclic compounds over rhodium-copper bimetallic nanocrystals under ambient conditions显示文摘Bimetallic nanocrystals (BMNCs) with distinguished electronic and chemical properties from those of their parent metals,offer the opportunity to obtain new catalysts with enhanced selectivity,activity,and stability.Here we describe the facile synthesis of rhodium-copper bimetallic system with different compositions and uniform morphology for chemo selective hydrogenation of functionalized quinolines.Our findings demonstrate that Rh-Cu BMNCs exhibited composition dependent activity and selectivity.BMNCs with rhodium to copper ratio 3:1 surpassed individual Rh and Cu and other compositions both in activity and selectivity for quinolines hydrogenation and performed even better than Rh/C with same amount of Rh.Rh3Cui catalyst displayed excellent tolerance for synthetically significant functional groups such as -OH,NH2,F,particularly for aldehyde group which is very reactive towards reduction.These results suggested that the coexistence of rhodium and copper metals play important role in the enhancement of catalytic activity due to synergistic effects and revealed that bimetallic nanocrystals can be promising as practical catalysts for selective hydrogenation of quinoline and other substrates. | Muhammad Mateen Khadim Shah Zheng Chen Chen Chen Yadong Li | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,7: | 6 |

| 4 | Optical wireless information transfer with nonlinear micromechanical resonators显示文摘Wireless transfer of information is the basis of modern communication.It includes cellular,WiFi,Bluetooth,and GPS systems,all of which use electromagnetic radio waves with frequencies ranging from typically 100 MHz to a few GHz.However,several long-standing challenges with standard radio-wave wireless transmission still exist,including keeping secure transmission of data from potential compromise.Here,we demonstrate wireless information transfer using a line-of-sight optical architecture with a micromechanical element.In this fundamentally new approach,a laser beam encoded with information impinges on a nonlinear micromechanical resonator located a distance from the laser.The force generated by the radiation pressure of the laser light on the nonlinear micromechanical resonator produces a sideband modulation signal,which carries the precise information encoded in the subtle changes in the radiation pressure.Using this,we demonstrate data and image transfer with one hundred percent fidelity with a single 96-by-270μm silicon resonator element in an optical frequency band.This mechanical approach relies only on the momentum of the incident photons and is therefore able to use any portion of the optical frequency band—a band that is 10000 times wider than the radio frequency band.Our line-of-sight architecture using highly scalable micromechanical resonators offers new possibilities in wireless communication.Due to their small size,these resonators can be easily arrayed while maintaining a small form factor to provide redundancy and parallelism. | Joseph A.Boales Farrukh Mateen Pritiraj Mohanty | 2017 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2017,3,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Light quality and temperature effects on antirrhinum growth and development显示文摘An experiment was carried out to examine the effects of light quality on the growth and development of antirrhinum under three different temperatures 19℃, 24℃ and 27℃ in glasshouses. Five different colour filters (i.e. 'Red absorbing', 'Blue absorbing', 'Blue and Red absorbing' and two 'partially Blue absorbing' materials) were tested, with one clear polythene as a control. Plant height, internode length and leaf area were significantly affected by the spectral filters as well as the temperature.Analysis of color filter's effect on presumed photoreceptors to exist indicated that antirrhinum plant height was regulated by the action of a blue acting photoreceptor (BAP) and not the phytochrome. There was no evidence for an effect ofphytochrome or BAP on time to flowering, however, increasing temperature levels effectively decreased the time to flowering. To predict the effects of different spectral qualities and temperature, simple models were created from data on plant height, internode length and time to flowering. | 8 | 子宫颈抹片检查常规筛查宫颈组织、癌前病变或癌变在发展中国家门诊中的运用(英文)显示文摘Objective: Papanicolou (Pap) smear screening has dramatically reduced the incidence of invasive cervical cancer worldwide. Pap smear screening is still not widely available in developing countries and therefore cannot be used as mass screening tool. This study was designed to establish the role of Pap smear as a routine investigation for females presented to gynecological department. Methods: It was a hospital based study. Patients attending with complaints including irregular vaginal bleeding, vagina discharge, dyspareunia, low backache or lower abdominal pain and primary or secondary infertility were included in the study. All these patients underwent pap smear. Results: Age of females was 25 to 60 years. Ninety females had dysplasia. Mild to moderate dysplasia was positive in 84 females. Six patients had severe dysplasia suspicious for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) which was confirmed as invasive SCC on biopsy. All patients with mild to moderate dysplasia were regularly followed at 4 to 6 months. Thirty patients were lost during follow up. Forty had negative smear at 6 months, while fourteen having persistent dysplasia on repeated pap smears were referred for biopsies. Histopathology confirmed invasive SCC in five patients while chronic cervicitis was reported in nine patients. Only two of screened patients with high suspicion for cancer showed false negative results. Directed biopsies done in these confirmed invasive SCC. Conclusion: Pap smear is a useful, simple, non-invasive and reliable screening tool for cervical cancer.
