1Startup and operation of anaerobic EGSB reactor treating palm oil mill effluent显示文摘A bench-scale expanded granular sludge bed (EGSB) reactor was applied to the treatment of palm oil mill effuent (POME). The reactor had been operated continuously at 35°C for 514 d, with organic loading rate (OLR) increased from 1.45 to 17.5 kg COD/(m3·d). The results showed that the EGSB reactor had good performance in terms of COD removal on the one hand, high COD removal of 91% was obtained at two days’ of hydraulic retention time (HRT), and the highest OLR of 17.5 kg COD/(m3·d). On the other hand, only 46% COD in raw POME was transformed into biogas in which the methane content was about 70% (V/V). A 30-d intermittent experiment indicated that the maximum transformation potential of organic matter in raw POME into methane was 56%. Volatile fatty acid (VFA) accumulation was observed in the later operation stage, and this was settled by supplementing trace metal elements. On the whole, the system exhibited good stability in terms of acidity and alkalinity. 3Regulating Effects of Novel CpG Chitosan-nanoparticles on Immune Responses of Mice to Porcine Paratyphoid Vaccines显示文摘Objective To study the regulating effects of a novel CpG oligodeoxynuleotide and the synergistic effect of chitosan-nanoparticles (CNP) with CpG on immune responses of mice, which were used to develop a novel immunoadjuvant to boost immune response to conventional vaccines. Methods A novel CpG ODN containing 11 CpG motifs was synthesized and its bioactivities to stimulate the proliferation of lymphocytes of pig in vitro were detected. Then it was entrapped with CNP prepared in our laboratory by the method of ionic cross linkage, and immunized Kunming mice were co-inoculated with paratyphoid vaccine. The peripheral blood was collected weekly from the tail vein of inoculated mice to detect the contents of IgG, IgA, IgM, and specific antibody against salmonella as well as the levels of interleukin-2 (IL2), IL-4, and IL-6 by SABC-ELISA assay. The numbers of leucocytes, monocytes, granuloytes, and lymphocytes were calculated separately using the routine method. The experimental mice were orally challenged with virulent salmonella 35 days after inoculation. Results This CpG ODN could remarkably provoke the proliferation of lymphocytes of pig in vitro in contrast with the control (P<0.05). Compared with those of the control, immunoglobulins, including IgG, IgA, IgM, and specific antibodies to paratyphoid vaccine, increased significantly in sera from the CpG or CpG-CNP-vaccinated mice (P<0.05). IL-2, IL-4, and IL-6 increased remarkably in sera from immunized mice (P<0.05). The leucocytes, monocytes, granuloytes, and lymphocytes of the mice immunized with CpG or CpG-CNP were also increased in number (P<0.05). After the challenge, these immunity values were elevated in the mice vaccinated with CpG or CpG-CNP. The immunized mice all survived, while the control mice fell ill with evident lesions with diffuse hemorrhage in stomach, small intestine, and peritoneum. 4Kindlin-2 expression in adult tissues correlates with their embryonic origins显示文摘Kindlin-2 functions in the maintenance of homeostasis and in human diseases.This study investigated the interrelationship between Kindlin-2 expression in tissues and the corresponding germ layers from which these tissues originated.Kindlin-2 expression was examined in normal adult human organs and human cancer tissues by immunohistochemical analyses.Analysis of Kindlin-2 mRNA levels in adult human organs in the Oncomine dataset revealed Kindlin-2 is highly expressed in mesoderm-derived organs.However,Kindlin-2 was negative or weakly expressed in endoderm/ectoderm-derived organs.Interestingly,the abnormal expression of Kindlin-2 was observed in a variety of human cancers.In agreement with its expression profile in humans,Kindlin-2 was also highly expressed in mesoderm-derived organs in mouse embryos with the exception of strong Kindlin-2 expression in ectoderm-derived spinal cord and ganglia,tissues that are highly mobile during embryonic development.Importantly,we demonstrated the expression level of Kindlin-2 in adult organs correlated with their embryonic dermal origins and deregulation of Kindlin-2 in tissues is associated with tumor progression.This finding will help us understand the dual role of Kindlin-2 in the regulation of tumor progression and embryonic development.ZHAN Jun YANG Mei CHI XiaoChun ZHANG Jing PEI XueLian REN CaiXia GUO YongQing LIU Wei ZHANG HongQuan 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,7:8
5Osteoblast/fibroblast coculture derived bioactive ECM with unique matrisome profile facilitates bone regeneration显示文摘Extracellular matrix(ECM)with mimetic tissue niches was attractive to facilitate tissue regeneration in situ via recruitment of endogenous cells and stimulation of self-healing process.However,how to engineer the complicate tissue specific ECM with unique matrisome in vitro was a challenge of ECM-based biomaterials in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.Here,we introduced coculture system to engineer bone mimetic ECM niche guided by cell-cell communication.In the cocultures,fibroblasts promoted osteogenic differentiation of osteoblasts via extracellular vesicles.The generated ECM(MN-ECM)displayed a unique appearance of morphology and biological components.The advantages of MN-ECM were demonstrated with promotion of multiple cellular behaviors(proliferation,adhesion and osteogenic mineralization)in vitro and bone regeneration in vivo.Moreover,proteomic analysis was used to clarify the molecular mechanism of MN-ECM,which revealed a specific matrisome signature.The present study provides a novel strategy to generate ECM with tissue mimetic niches via cell-cell communication in a coculture system,which forwards the development of tissue-bioactive ECM engineering along with deepening the understanding of ECM niches regulated by cells for bone tissue engineering.Mei Li Anqi Zhang Jiajing Li Jing Zhou Yanan Zheng Chi Zhang Dongdong Xia Haijiao Mao Jiyuan Zhao 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:7

7Experiments and Simulation of Thermal Behaviors of the Dual-drive Servo Feed System显示文摘The machine tool equipped with the dual-drive servo feed system could realize high feed speed as well as sharp precision. Currently, there is no report about the thermal behaviors of the dual-drive machine, and the current research of the thermal characteristics of machines mainly focuses on steady simulation. To explore the influence of thermal characterizations on the precision of a jib boring machine assembled dual-drive feed system, the thermal equilibrium tests and the research on thermal-mechanical transient behaviors are carried out. A laser interferometer, infrared thermography and a temperature-displacement acquisition system are applied to measure the temperature distribution and thermal deformation at different feed speeds. Subsequently, the finite element method(FEM) is used to analyze the transient thermal behaviors of the boring machine. The complex boundary conditions, such as heat sources and convective heat transfer coefficient, are calculated. Finally, transient variances in temperatures and deformations are compared with the measured values, and the errors between the measurement and the simulation of the temperature and the thermal error are 2 ℃ and 2.5 μm, respectively. The researching results demonstrate that the FEM model can predict the thermal error and temperature distribution very well under specified operating condition. Moreover, the uneven temperature gradient is due to the asynchronous dual-drive structure that results in thermal deformation. Additionally, the positioning accuracy decreases as the measured point became further away from the motor, and the thermal error and equilibrium period both increase with feed speeds. 9Efficacy of Getong Tongluo Capsule(葛酮通络胶嚢)for Convalescent-Phase of Ischemic Stroke and Primary Hypertension:A Multicenter,Randomized,Double-Blind,Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective:To evaluate whether the efficacy of Getong Tongluo Capsule(葛酮通络胶囊,GTC,consisted of total flavone of Radix Puerariae)on improving patients'quality of life and lowering blood pressure are superior to the extract of Ginkgo biloba(EGB)for patients with convalescent-phase ischemic stroke and primary hypertension.Methods:This randomized,positive-drug-and placebo-controlled,double-blind trial was conducted from September 2015 to October 2017.Totally 477 eligible patients from 18 hospitals in China were randomly assigned in a 2:1:1 ratio to the following interventions,twice a day for 12 weeks:(1)GTC 250 mg plus EGB-matching placebo 40 mg(237 cases,GTC group),(2)EGB 40 mg plus GTC-matching placebo 250 mg(120 cases,EGB group)or(3)GTC-matching placebo 250 mg plus EGB-matching placebo 40 mg(120 cases,placebo group).Moreover,all patients were orally administered aspirin enteric-coated tablets 100 mg,once a day fo r 12 weeks.The primary outcome was the Barthel Index(Bl).The secondary outcomes included the control rate of blood pressure and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores.The incidence and severity of adverse events(AEs)were calculated and assessed.Results:The Bl relative independence rates,the clinical recovery rates of NIHSS,and the total effective rates of NIHSS in the GTC and EGB groups were significantly higher than the placebo group at 12 weeks after treatment(P<0.05),and no statistical significance was found between the GTC and EGB groups(P>0.05).The control rate of blood pressure in the GTC group was significantly higher than the EGB and placebo groups at 12,18 and 24 weeks after treatment(P<0.01).There were no statistically significant differences in the incidences of AEs,adverse drug reactions,or serious AEs among the 3 groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:GTC exhibited significant efficacy in improving patients'quality of life as well as neurological function and controlling hypertension.ZHAO Qian-yu TANG Rong-hua LU Guo-xiong CAO Xu-zheng LIU Lu-ran ZHANG Ji-hua ZHANG Jin-tao XU Bin WEI Hong-tao YANG Miao WEI Ling ZHANG Mei ZHU Wen-zong WANG Hong LI Hong-lin MA Li-ping ZHONG Chi GAO Yan-jie ZHANG Na REN Shan CHEN Lu LIU Yun-hai CHEN Zhi-gang 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,4:3

11Surface characterization of metal oxides-supported activated carbon fiber catalysts for simultaneous catalytic hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide and carbon disulfide显示文摘The sol–gel method was used to synthesize a series of metal oxides-supported activated carbon fiber (ACF) and the simultaneous catalytic hydrolysis activity of carbonyl sulfide (COS)and carbon disulfide (CS2) at relatively low temperatures of 60°C was tested.The effects of preparation conditions on the catalyst properties were investigated,including the kinds and amount of metal oxides and calcination temperatures.The activity tests indicated that catalysts with 5 wt.%Ni after calcining at 400°C (Ni(5)/ACF(400)) had the best performance for the simultaneous catalytic hydrolysis of COS and CS2.The surface and structure properties of prepared ACF were characterized by scanning electron microscope-energy disperse spectroscopy (SEM-EDS),Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET),X-ray diffraction (XRD),carbon dioxidetemperature programmed desorption (CO2-TPD) and diffuse reflectance Fourier transform infrared reflection (DRFTIR).And the metal cation defects were researched by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) method.The characterization results showed that the supporting of Ni on the ACF made the ACF catalyst show alkaline and increased the specific surface area and the number of micropores,then improved catalytic hydrolysis activity.The DRFTIR results revealed that-OH species could facilitate the hydrolysis of COS and CS2;-COO and-C–O species could facilitate the oxidation of catalytic hydrolysate H2S.And the EPR results showed that high calcination temperature conditions provide more active reaction center for the COS and CS2 adsorption.Kunlin Li Chi Wang Ping Ning Kai Li Xin Sun Xin Song Yi Mei 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:3
12Effects of Cerium on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Zn-22%Al Vibration Damping Alloy显示文摘Using natural aging and artificial aging treatment, the effects of cerium on microstructures and mechanical properties of Zn 22%Al vibration damping alloy were studied by optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope. The results show that cerium can refine the microstructure of Zn 22%Al alloy, slow the grain growth and retain the equiaxial degree during aging. 13Simulation of moving boundary of the reaction shaft in a flash smelting furnace显示文摘As to solve the online monitoring of the inner temperatur e and freezing profile of the reaction shaft of flash smelting furnace, simulation of the wall in the reaction shaft in a flash smelting furnace was made through numerical computation. The computational results are very near the data got in s ite. The error of the moving boundary is approximately 3%, and that of the tempe rature is less than 5%. It is proved that the simulation software is applicable for practice to monitor the temperature and moving boundary inside the hearth on line. 15A Novel Chitosan CpG Nanoparticle Regulates Cellular and Humoral Immunity of Mice显示文摘Objective To develop a safe and novel immunoadjuvant to enhance the immunity and resistance of animals against E. coli infection. Methods An 88-base immunostimulatory oligodeoxynuleotide containing eleven CpG motifs (CpG ODN) was synthesized and amplified by PCR. The chitosan nanoparticle (CNP) was prepared by ion linking method to entrap the CpG ODN that significantly promotes the proliferation of lymphocytes of pig in vitro. Then the CpG- CNP was inoculated into 21-day old Kunming mice, which were orally challenged with virulent K88/K99 E. Coli 35 days after inoculation. Blood was collected from the tail vein of mice on days 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, and 49 after inoculation to detect the changes and content of immunoglobulins, cytokines and immune cells by ELISA, such as IgG, IgA, IgM, IL-2, IL-4, and IL-6. Results The CpG provoked remarkable proliferation of lymphocytes of pig in vitro in comparison with that of control group (P<0.05). The inoculation with CpG-CNP significantly raised the content of IgG, IgM, and IgA in the sera of immunized mice ( P<0.05). The levels of IL-2, IL-4, and IL-6 in the mice significantly increased in comparison with those in controls (P<0.05), so was the number of white blood cells and lymphocytes in immunized mice. The humoral and cellular immunities were significantly enhanced in immunized mice, which resisted the infection of E. coli and survived, while the control mice manifested evident symptoms and lesions of infection.
