| 1 | Cycle number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy might influence survival of patients with T1-4N2-3M0 nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Objective: Stage N2-3 nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) shows a high risk of distant metastasis, which will finally cause death. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT) of various cycles before radical radiotherapy on distant metastasis and survival of patients with stage N2-3 diseases.Methods: In this study, a total of 1,164 consecutive patients with non-metastatic N2-3 NPC were recruited and prospectively observed. Then 231 patients who received NACT of 4 cycles(NACT=4 group) were matched 1:2:1 to 462 patients treated with NACT of 2 cycles(NACT=2 group) and 231 patients treated without NACT(NACT=0 group), according to age, histological subtype, N stage and NACT regimen. Five candidate variables(sex, T stage, concurrent chemotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy and cycle number of NACT) were analyzed for their association with patients' survival.Results: After matching, the overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS), local-recurrence-free survival(RFS) and distant-metastasis-free survival(MFS) of the NACT=4 group(89.2%, 81.0%, 83.3% and 84.8%,respectively) were better than those of the NACT=2 group(83.3%, 72.5%, 81.2% and 77.9%, respectively) and the NACT=0 group(74.0%, 63.2%, 74.0% and 68.8%, respectively). | 2 | Copper‑Based Catalysts for Electrochemical Carbon Dioxide Reduction to Multicarbon Products显示文摘Electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide into fuel and chemicals with added value represents an appealing approach to reduce the greenhouse effect and realize a carbon-neutral cycle,which has great potential in mitigating global warming and effectively storing renewable energy.The electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)usually involves multiproton coupling and multielectron transfer in aqueous electrolytes to form multicarbon products(C_(2+) products),but it competes with the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),which results in intrinsically sluggish kinetics and a complex reaction mechanism and places higher requirements on the design of catalysts.In this review,the advantages of electrochemical CO_(2) reduction are briefly introduced,and then,different categories of Cu-based catalysts,including monometallic Cu catalysts,bimetallic catalysts,metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)along with MOF-derived catalysts and other catalysts,are summarized in terms of their synthesis method and conversion of CO_(2) to C2+products in aqueous solution.The catalytic mechanisms of these catalysts are subsequently discussed for rational design of more efficient catalysts.In response to the mechanisms,several material strategies to enhance the catalytic behaviors are proposed,including surface facet engineering,interface engineering,utilization of strong metal-support interactions and surface modification.Based on the above strategies,challenges and prospects are proposed for the future development of CO_(2)RR catalysts for industrial applications. | Fangfang Chang Meiling Xiao Ruifang Miao Yongpeng Liu Mengyun Ren Zhichao Jia Dandan Han Yang Yuan Zhengyu Bai Lin Yang | 2022 | Electrochemical Energy Reviews2022,5,3: | 2 |
| 3 | IncR26319/miR-2834/EndophilinA axis regulates oogenesis of the silkworm,Bombyx mori显示文摘Oocyte maturation is critical for insect reproduction.Vitellogenesis,the timely production and uptake of vitellogenin(Vg),is crucial for female fecundity.Vg is synthesized in fat body and absorbed by the oocytes through endocytosis during insect oogenesis.In the silkworm,Bombyx mori,we discovered that a nucleus-enriched long-noncoding RNA(lncRNA)lncR26319 regulates Endophilin A(EndoA)-a member of the endophilin family of endocytic proteins-through competitive binding to miR-2834.The lncR26319-miR-2834-EndoA axis was required for Vg endocytosis in the silkworm;loss of EndoA or overexpression ofmiR-2834significantlyreduced eggnumbers invirginmoths.Inaddition,accumulation of miR-2834 resulted in pupal and adult deformation and reduced fecundity in females.The expression of Vg,30-kDa(30K)protein,and egg-specific protein(Esp)decreased after knockdown of EndoA or overexpression of miR-2834,while knockdown of miR-2834 had an opposite effect on the expression of Vg,30K protein gene,and Esp.These results suggest that the lncR26319-miR-2834-EndoA axis contributes to the endocytic activity in theVguptake and leads to the normal progression of oogenesis in the silkworm.Thus,miR-2834 and EndoA are crucial for female reproduction and could be potential targets for new pest management strategies in lepidopterans. | Yi Wang Yu Fu Hao Chena Chenyue Zhao Qunxia Huang Meiling Chang Wujie Qiu Yawen Shen Dandan Li | 2023 | Insect Science2023,30,1: | 1 |
| 4 | Neurodegeneration-associated FUS is a novel regulator of circadian gene expression显示文摘Background:Circadian rhythms are oscillating physiological and behavioral changes governed by an internal molecular clock,and dysfunctions in circadian rhythms have been associated with ageing and various neurodegenerative diseases.However,the evidence directly connecting the neurodegeneration-associated proteins to circadian control at the molecular level remains sparse.Methods:Using meta-analysis,synchronized animals and cell lines,cells and tissues from FUS R521C knock-in rats,we examined the role of FUS in circadian gene expression regulation.Results:We found that FUS,an oscillating expressed nuclear protein implicated in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)and frontotemporal dementia(FTD),exerted a novel feedback route to regulate circadian gene expression.Nr1d1-encoded core circadian protein REV-ERBαbound the Fus promoter and regulated the expression of Fus.Meanwhile,FUS was in the same complex as PER/CRY,and repressed the expression of E box-containing core circadian genes,such as Per2,by mediating the promoter occupancy of PSF-HDAC1.Remarkably,a common pathogenic mutant FUS(R521C)showed increased binding to PSF,and caused decreased expression of Per2.Conclusions:Therefore,we have demonstrated FUS as a modulator of circadian gene expression,and provided novel mechanistic insights into the mutual influence between circadian control and neurodegeneration-associated proteins. | Xin Jiang Tao Zhang Haifang Wang Tao Wang Meiling Qin Puhua Bao Ruiqi Wang Yuwei Liu Hung-Chun Chang Jun Yan Jin Xu | 2018 | Translational Neurodegeneration2018,7,1: | 1 |

| 7 | Clinical efficacy and safety of linezolid in intensive care unit patients显示文摘Background:To characterize the population of critically ill patients and infections treated with linezolid in the intensive care unit(ICU),and to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of linezolid therapy.Methods::This multi-center,observational,real-world study was conducted across 52 hospitals between June 9,2018,and December 28,2019.Patients who met the following inclusion criteria were included:(1)admitted to the ICU,(2)of any age group,and(3)having a clinical or laboratory diagnosis of a Gram-positive bacterial infection.Clinical efficacy was categorized as success(cured or improved),failed,or non-evaluable.Adverse events and serious adverse events were recorded during treatment.Results::A total of 366 ICU patients who met the inclusion criteria were evaluated.Linezolid was used as second-and first-line treatment in 232(63.4%)and 134(36.6%)patients,respectively.The most common isolated strain was Staphylococcus aureus(methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus:n=37/119,31.1%;methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus:n=15/119,12.6%);this was followed by Enterococci(vancomycin-resistant Enterococci:n=8/119,6.7%;vancomycin-susceptible Enterococci:n=11/119,9.2%)and Streptococcus pneumoniae(multidrug-resistant:n=4/119,3.4%;non-multidrug resistant:n=2/119,1.7%).The main infection sites where pathogens were detected included the lung(n=216/366,59.6%),skin and soft tissue(n=104/366,28.4%),and blood(n=50/366,13.7%).Clinical success was achieved in 301(82.2%)patients;34(9.3%)were cured and 267(73.0%)improved;treatment failure and non-evaluable outcomes were observed in 29(7.9%)in 36(9.8%)patients,respectively.Linezolid-related adverse events were reported in 8(2.2%)patients.No treatment-related serious adverse events were reported.Conclusions::Based on real-world results,linezolid was found to be effective and safe in the treatment of Gram-positive bacterial infections in critically ill patients. | Aijia Ma Meiling Dong Jiangli Cheng Xuelian Liao Wei Dong Chang Liu Chenggong Hu Jing Yang Yan Kang | 2023 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2023,3,1: | 0 |
| 8 | Excimer Formation of Perylene Bisimide Dyes within Stacking-Restrained Folda-Dimers:Insight into Anomalous Temperature Responsive Dual Fluorescence显示文摘We have fabricated a new perylene bisimide(PBI)folda-dimer(BPBI-CB-1)by tethering two PBI moieties to the ortho-carbon positions of a carborane unit.The synthesized compound adopted distinct configurations in different solvents with dual emissions as its characteristic.The two PBI moieties in the molecule appeared either in a weakly interacted,monomer-like state or brought into close π-π contact with each other,forming an interacted stacking state.The equilibrium between these two states was governed by the nature of solvents and testing temperature.Spectroscopic and theoretical studies concluded that dual emission bands originated from intramolecular monomer-like and stacking states,respectively.Remarkably,in a solvent like 1,2-dichloroethane(DCE),both emission intensities increased with rising temperatures.The positive temperature response of the monomer emission was ascribed to an increased amount of monomer-like population,owing to its endothermic energy state,while the excimer emission was rationalized by increased population of the bright exciton state,resulting in an increased emission yield that compensated the diminished population of the stacking state.To our knowledge,this is the first report on positive temperature-responsive dual emissions associated with the synergism of intramolecular intersubunit aggregation/dissociation and excimer transformation. | Congdi Shang Gang Wang Yu-Chen Wei Qingwei Jiang Ke Liu Meiling Zhang Yi-Yun Chen Xingmao Chang Fengyi Liu Shiwei Yin Pi-Tai Chou Yu Fang | 2022 | CCS Chemistry2022,4,6: | 0 |
