| 1 | The cytotoxicity and protective effects of Astragalus membranaceus extracts and butylated hydroxyanisole on hydroxyl radical-induced apoptosis in fish erythrocytes显示文摘Erythrocytes play an essential role in transporting O_2 and CO_2 for respiration in fish. However,erythrocytes continuously suffer from reactive oxygen species(ROS)-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis. Thus, it is essential to expand our knowledge of how to protect erythrocytes against ROS-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in fish. In this study, we explored the cytotoxicity and the effects of butylated hydroxyanisole(BHA), ethyl ether extracts, ethyl acetate extracts, acetone extracts(AE), ethanol extracts, and aqueous extracts of Astragalus membranaceus(EAm) on hydroxyl radical(·OH)-induced apoptosis in carp erythrocytes. The rat hepatocytes and carp erythrocytes were incubated with different concentrations of BHA or EAm(0.125 to 1 mg/mL). The toxicity in rat hepatocytes and carp erythrocytes was then measured using a 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay and a haemolysis assay,respectively. The carp erythrocytes were treated with BHA or EAm in the presence of 40 μmol/L FeSO4 and20 μmol/L H_2 O_2 at 37℃, except for the control group. Oxidative stress and apoptosis parameters in the carp erythrocytes were then evaluated using the commercial kit. The results indicated that at high concentrations, BHA and EAm could induce toxicity in rat hepatocytes and fish erythrocytes. However, BHA was more toxic than EAm at the same concentrations. Moreover, the toxicity order of BHA and EAm in the fish erythrocytes approximately agreed with that for the rat hepatocytes. Butylated hydroxyanisole and EAm suppressed the ·OH-induced phosphatidylserine exposure and DNA fragmentation(the biomarkers of apoptosis) by decreasing the generation of ROS, inhibiting the oxidation of cellular components, and restoring the activities of antioxidants in carp erythrocytes. Of all of the examined EAm, the AE showed the strongest effects. The effects of AE on superoxide anion, H_2 O_2, met-haemoglobin and reduced glutathione levels, as well as glutathione reductase activity and apoptosis were equivalent to or stronger than those of BHA. | 2 | A continuous and high-efficiency process to separate coal bed methane with porous ZIF-8 slurry:Experimental study and mathematical modelling显示文摘Coal bed methane has been considered as an important energy resource.One major difficulty of purifying coal bed methane comes from the similar physical properties of CH_4 and N_2.The ZIF-8/water-glycol slurry was used as a medium to separate coal bed methane by fluidifying the solid adsorbent material.The sorption equilibrium experiment of binary mixture(CH_4/N_2)and slurry was conducted.The selectivity of CH_4 to N_2 is within the range of 2-6,which proved the feasibility of the slurry separation method.The modified Langmuir equation was used to describe the gas-slurry phase equilibrium behavior,and the calculated results were in good agreement with the experimental data.A continuous absorption-adsorption and desorption process on the separation of CH_4/N_2 in slurry is proposed and its mathematical model is also developed.Sensitivity analysis is conducted to determine the operation conditions and the energy performance of the proposed process was also evaluated.Feed gas contains 30 mol%of methane and the methane concentration in product gas is 95.46 mol%with the methane recovery ratio of 90.74%.The total energy consumption for per unit volume of product gas is determined as 1.846 kWh Nm^(-3).Experimental results and process simulation provide basic data for the design and operation of pilot and industrial plant. | Wan Chen Xiaonan Guo Enbao Zou Mengling Luo Mengzijing Chen Mingke Yang Hai Li Chongzhi Jia Chun Deng Changyu Sun Bei Liu Lanying Yang Guangjin Chen | 2020 | Green Energy & Environment2020,5,3: | 5 |
| 3 | Exponential stability of the Euler-Maruyama method for neutral stochastic functional differential equations with jumps显示文摘The exponential stability of trivial solution and numerical solution for neutral stochastic functional differential equations(NSFDEs) with jumps is considered. The stability includes the almost sure exponential stability and the mean-square exponential stability. New conditions for jumps are proposed by means of the Borel measurable function to ensure stability. It is shown that if the drift coefficient satisfies the linear growth condition, the Euler-Maruyama method can reproduce the corresponding exponential stability of the trivial solution. | 4 | Basic theory and stability analysis for neutral stochastic functional differential equations with pure jumps显示文摘This paper investigates the existence and uniqueness of solutions to neutral stochastic functional differential equations with pure jumps(NSFDEwPJs). The boundedness and almost sure exponential stability are also considered. In general, the classical existence and uniqueness theorem of solutions can be obtained under a local Lipschitz condition and linear growth condition. However, there are many equations that do not obey the linear growth condition. Therefore, our first aim is to establish new theorems where the linear growth condition is no longer required whereas the upper bound for the diffusion operator will play a leading role. Moreover, the pth moment boundedness and almost sure exponential stability are also obtained under some loose conditions. | 5 | Molecular phylogenomic analysis reveals a single origin of monkeypox virus transmission in Guangzhou,China in June 2023显示文摘The monkeypox(mpox)virus has caused worldwide transmission since its initial report in England in early May 2022.Available data from the World Health Organization(WHO)show that Europe and the Americas experienced a huge wave of mpox virus infection.Now the number of infected cases is on the rise in Asia.Several sporadic infections have been reported in China.In this study,we obtained high‐quality whole viral genomic sequences using a mpox virus‐specific amplicon‐based sequencing strategy.Our analysis of the phylogenomic characteristics indicated that all eight mpox virus sequences from Guangzhou belonged to the clade IIb lineage B.1.3 cluster.However,we could not locate the exact origins where the virus was imported,based on all the available mpox virus sequences from the Global Initiative on Sharing Avian Influenza Data(GISAID)database(http://gffzz25fa773688d24fb7sbo9vboubkw566cbv.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/),except for their closest sequence similarity to that was reported from Japan.Novel amino acid mutations were found among the eight cases,suggesting that a local transmission may have occurred in Guangzhou,China. | Mengling Jiang Xizi Deng Qinghong Fan Fei Gu Huiqin Yang Jian Wang Xiaoping Tang Fengyu Hu Yun Lan Feng Li | 2023 | Biosafety and Health2023,5,5: | 0 |
