| 1 | Prediction of subsidence risk by FMEA using artificial neural network and fuzzy inference system显示文摘Construction of metro tunnels in dense and crowded urban areas is faced with many risks, such as subsidence. The purpose of this paper was the prediction of subsidence risk by failure mode and effect analysis(FMEA) and fuzzy inference system(FIS). Fuzzy theory will be able to model uncertainties. Fuzzy FMEA provides a tool that can work in a better way with vague concepts and without sufficient information than conventional FMEA. In this paper, S and D are obtained from fuzzy rules and O is obtained from artificial neural network(ANN). FMEA is performed by developing a fuzzy risk priority number(FRPN).The FRPN for two stations in Tehran No.4 subway line is 3.1 and 5.5, respectively. To investigate the suitability of this approach, the predictions by FMEA have been compared with actual data. | 2 | Slip flow of Maxwell viscoelasticity-based micropolar nanoparticles with porous medium: a numerical study显示文摘This article presents the mass and heat transport aspects in viscoelastic nanofluid flows under the presence of velocity slip conditions. To explore the nonNewtonian behavior, a Maxwell viscoelasticity-based micropolar is considered. Moreover, a porous medium saturates the stretching sheet. A set of similarity variables is introduced to derive the dimensionless ordinary differential equations of velocity, concentration, and temperature profiles. The numerical solution is computed by using the MATLAB bvp4c package. The salient flow features of velocity, concentration, and temperature profiles are described and discussed through various graphs. It is observed that with an increase in the slip parameter, the micro-rotation velocity also increases. The temperature of nanoparticles gets maximum values by varying the viscoelastic parameter and the porosity parameter while an opposite trend is noted for the micro-rotation parameter. The local Nusselt number and the local Sherwood number increase by increasing the viscoelastic parameter, the porosity parameter, and the slip velocity parameter. The graphical computation is performed for a specified range of parameters, such as 0 ≤ M ≤ 2.5, 0 ≤σm ≤ 2.5, 0 ≤ K1 ≤ 1.5, 0.5 ≤ Pr ≤ 3.0, 0 ≤σ≤ 1.5, 0.5 ≤ Sc ≤ 2.0, 0.2 ≤ Nb ≤ 0.8, and 0.2 ≤ Nt ≤ 0.8. | H. | 9 | Thread-based multiplexed sensor patch for real-time sweat monitoring显示文摘Sensor platforms that exploit the fibrous textile threads as substrates offer great promise since they can be directly sewn,woven or stitched on to any clothing.They can also be placed directly in intimate contact with the skin.In this work,we present a thread-based sensing platform in the form of a multiplexed sensing patch for continuous simultaneous on-skin monitoring of sweat.The patch performs real-time,on-body measurements of important biomarkers present in sweat such as electrolytes(sodium and ammonium ions),metabolites(lactate)and acidity(pH).Flexible threads coated with conductive inks were used as sensing electrodes.Selective potentiometric detection of electrolytes and pH was made possible through ion-selective membrane deposition and pH-sensitive polyaniline coating on threads,respectively.An amperometric enzymatic sensing scheme with lactate oxidase was used for the detection of lactate.An array of the thread sensors is integrated onto a patch with connectivity to a miniaturized circuit module containing a potentiostat,microprocessor and wireless circuitry for wireless smartphone readout.Extensive in vitro validation and an in vivo human pilot study involving a maximal exertion test show the promise of this platform for real-time physiological monitoring of human performance/fitness under stress,as well as diagnostic monitoring through sweat analysis. | Trupti Terse-Thakoor Meera Punjiya Zimple Matharu Boyang Lyu Meraj Ahmad Grace E.Giles Rachel Owyeung Francesco Alaimo Maryam Shojaei Baghini Tad TBrunyé Sameer Sonkusale | 2020 | npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1: | 1 |
