12D-ultrathin MXene/DOXjade platform for iron chelation chemo-photothermal therapy显示文摘An increased demand for iron is a hallmark of cancer cells and is thought necessary to promote high cell proliferation,tumor progression and metastasis.This makes iron metabolism an attractive therapeutic target.Unfortunately,current iron-based therapeutic strategies often lack effectiveness and can elicit off-target toxicities.We report here a dual-therapeutic prodrug,DOXjade,that allows for iron chelation chemo-photothermal cancer therapy.This prodrug takes advantage of the clinically approved iron chelator deferasirox(ExJade®)and the topoisomerase 2 inhibitor,doxorubicin(DOX).Loading DOXjade onto ultrathin 2D Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene nanosheets produces a construct,Ti_(3)C_(2)-PVP@DOXjade,that allows the iron chelation and chemotherapeutic functions of DOXjade to be photo-activated at the tumor sites,while potentiating a robust photothermal effect with photothermal conversion efficiencies of up to 40%.Antitumor mechanistic investigations reveal that upon activation,Ti_(3)C_(2)-PVP@DOXjade serves to promote apoptotic cell death and downregulate the iron depletion-induced iron transferrin receptor(TfR).A tumor pH-responsive iron chelation/photothermal/chemotherapy antitumor effect was achieved both in vitro and in vivo.The results of this study highlight what may constitute a promising iron chelation-based phototherapeutic approach to cancer therapy.Yunjie Xu Yingwei Wang Jusung An Adam C.Sedgwick Mingle Li Jianlei Xie Weibin Hu Jianlong Kang Sajal Sen Axel Steinbrueck Bin Zhang Lijun Qiao Swelm Wageh Jonathan F.Arambula Liping Liu Han Zhang Jonathan L.Sessler Jong Seung Kim 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,8:2

5Facile and secure synthesis of porous partially fluorinated graphene employing weakly coordinating anion for enhanced high-performance symmetric supercapacitor显示文摘In this paper,porous partially fluorinated graphene(PFG)for supercapacitors(SCs)was fabricated by a mild and secure one-pot hydrothermal method utilizing weakly coordinating anion BF_(4)^(-) as the fluorine source.The hydrolysis rate of sodium fluoroborate was adjusted by controlling the reaction temperature and PFG containing semi-ionic C-F bonds was obtained,where the content of semi-ionic C-F bonds in PFG can be easily regulated.The final experimental results show that the incorporation of fluorine not only modulates the electrochemical properties of the material,but also creates abundant pores.When assembled in a symmetric supercapacitor,the PFG shows a high specific capacitance of 269.7 F g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) and a superior rate capability with 89.3%capacitance retained,as the current density is increased from 1 A g^(-1)even to 20 A g^(-1).Furthermore,the resultant energy density for PFG is 9.4 Wh kg^(-1) at a power density of 250.0 W kg^(-1)(1 A g^(-1)).All these results confirm that as-prepared partially fluorinated graphene is appropriate for the application in SCs and mass production.Ning Cao Teng Wang Rabah Boukherroub Yinghui Cai Yijiang Qin Fashun Li Peng Liu Qingguo Shao Mingle Liu Xiaobei Zang 2022Journal of Materiomics2022,8,1:0
6Investigation of photodamage by femtosecond laser to cells via gold nanorods显示文摘Usually,only focused femtosecond(fs)lasers at near-infrared(NIR)range can induce photo-damage to transparent cells,making it difficult to treat large amount of cells by such optical methods for photostimulation.In this study,we clarify the mechanism of photodamage to cells that are co-cultured with gold nanorods(GNRs)by fs laser.The pulse duration and repetition rate of the fs laser play a key role in cell damage suggesting that the heat accumulation con-tributes to the major part for the cell damage rather than the high peak power which mainly determines the efficiency of multiphoton excitation.We further show that cellular Ca^(2+)can also be released in this scheme,but the process is more sensitive to peak power.Our results can provide a large-scale GNR-mediated photostimulation for cell signaling modulation.Yang Li Hao He Huanyu Song Bowen Liu Mingle Hu Chingyue Wang 2017Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2017,,1:0
7Comprehensive evaluation of multiple cropping systems on upland red soil显示文摘According to the principles and methods of ecology and system engineering,we set up an evaluation indicator system for multi-component and multiple crop-ping systems,evaluated the comprehensive benefits of multi-component and multiple cropping systems using grey relation clustering analysis and screened out the optimized model based on research done in the upland red soil in Jiangxi Agricultural University from 1984 to 2004.The results show that the grey relation degree of'cabbage/potato/maize-sesame'was the highest among 23 multi-component and multiple cropping systems and was clustered into the optimized system.This indicates that'cabbage/potato/maize-sesame'can bring the best social,economic and ecological benefits,increase product yield and farmers’income and promote sustainable development of agricultural production.Therefore,it is suitable for promotion on upland red soil.The grey relation degree of'canola/Chinese milk vetch/maize/mung bean/maize'was second,which is suitable for imple-mentation at the city outskirts.In conclusion,these two planting patterns are expected to play important roles in the reconstruction of the planting structure and optimization of the planting patterns on upland red soil.Guoqin HUANG Xiuying LIU Longwang LIU Fang YE Mingling ZHANG Yanhong SHU 2008Frontiers in Biology2008,3,3:0
8Distinct and shared endothermic strategies in the heat producing tissues of tuna and other teleosts显示文摘Although most fishes are ectothermic,some,including tuna and billfish,achieve endothermy through specialized heat producing tissues that are modified muscles.How these heat producing tissues evolved,and whether they share convergent molecular mechanisms,remain unresolved.Here,we generated a high-quality genome from the mackerel tuna(Euthynnus affinis)and investigated the heat producing tissues of this fish by single-nucleus and bulk RNA sequencing.Compared with other teleosts,tuna-specific genetic variation is strongly associated with muscle differentiation.Single-nucleus RNA-seq revealed a high proportion of specific slow skeletal muscle cell subtypes in the heat producing tissues of tuna.Marker genes of this cell subtype are associated with the relative sliding of actin and myosin,suggesting that tuna endothermy is mainly based on shivering thermogenesis.In contrast,cross-species transcriptome analysis indicated that endothermy in billfish relies mainly on nonshivering thermogenesis.Nevertheless,the heat producing tissues of the different species do share some tissue-specific genes,including vascular-related and mitochondrial genes.Overall,although tunas and billfishes differ in their thermogenic strategies,they share similar expression patterns in some respects,highlighting the complexity of convergent evolution.Baosheng Wu Xueli Gao Mingling Hu Jing Hu Tianming Lan Tingfeng Xue Wenjie Xu Chenglong Zhu Yuan Yuan Jiangmin Zheng Tao Qin Peidong Xin Ye Li Li Gong Chenguang Feng Shunping He Huan Liu Haimeng Li Qing Wang Zhenhua Ma Qiang Qiu Kun Wang 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,11:0
