2Identification of novel bioactive proanthocyanidins with potent antioxidant and anti-proliferative activities from kiwifruit leaves显示文摘Agro-wastes contribute major social,economic,and environmental challenges for food production and circular economy systems.The current increasing demand for clean label food production and use of natural bioactive compounds could turn these challenges into opportunities providing avenues for proper utilization of agro-wastes to produce valuable products.This study aimed to investigate the potential use of kiwifruit(Actinidia chinensis)leaves as a source of proanthocyanidins(PAs)bioactive phenolic phytochemicals.Kiwifruit leaves PAs were extracted,purified,identified,and evaluated for their antioxidant and anti-proliferative activities.The structural composition of the purified PAs was characterized using HPLC-QTOF-MS/MS and MALDI-TOF-MS.The results showed that purified kiwifruit leaves PAs(PKLPs)comprised mainly procyanidins,propelargonidins,and prodelphindins ranging from dimers to hexamers with(epi)catechin as terminal units and(epi)afzelechin or(epi)gallocatechin as dominant extension units.This study reports the structure of novel PKLPs monomer fractions was unique compared to the PAs that extracted from the other plant sources.The PKLPs exhibited higher phenolic content than the skin and flesh of several kiwifruit cultivars.Moreover,the PKLPs exhibited higher in vitro antioxidant activity in chemical-based(DPPH,ABTS,and FRAP)assays and H2O2-induced injury cell model than ascorbic,Trolox,and catechin(p<0.01).A remarkable dose-dependent anti-proliferation activity(IC_(50)=186.04±2.61μg/mL)against HepG2 cells was observed.In conclusion,this study demonstrated that kiwifruit leaves waste could serve as a sustainable and low-cost source of PAs,a group of multi-functional bioactive compounds that plays a key role in the food and pharmaceutical industries.Ji-Min Lv Mostafa Gouda Alaa El-Din Bekhit Ya-Ke He Xing-Qian Ye Jian-Chu Chen 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:0
3Predicting rice diseases using advanced technologies at different scales: present status and future perspectives显示文摘The past few years have witnessed significant progress in emerging disease detection techniques foraccurately and rapidly tracking rice diseases and predicting potential solutions. In this review we focuson image processing techniques using machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models related tomulti-scale rice diseases. Furthermore, we summarize applications of different detection techniques,including genomic, physiological, and biochemical approaches. In addition, we also present the state-ofthe-art in contemporary optical sensing applications of pathogen–plant interaction phenotypes. 4指纹光谱特征揭示叶斑病时空动态发展以实现显症前诊断显示文摘植物病原菌不断危害农业生产和粮食安全。因此,病害发展早期的动态表征对病变监测和显症前诊断至关重要。高光谱成像(HSI)在跟踪病害初始侵染部位的动态进程以进行显症前诊断方面具有巨大潜力。然而,目前尚无相关文献提取出早期感染阶段活体叶片病变组织的指纹光谱特征(FSS),也没有探究HSI的检测机制。其中FSS是指能够表征特定植物病害的独特、有代表性的光谱特征。在本研究中,基于时序HSI数据分析,提取了接种Bipolaris sorokiniana的大麦叶片的FSS,以表征叶斑病症状发展,实现显症前诊断。还研究了叶斑病早期发展阶段叶片的光谱和生化响应。本文所提取的全波段FSS能够捕捉病变发展过程中褪绿组织和坏死组织的独特特征,从而原位可视化植物-病原菌像素级的早期互作动态进程。进一步,实现了接种后24 h叶斑病的显症前诊断,比传统的聚合酶链反应(PCR)测定或生化测定提前了12 h。为了揭示HSI显症前诊断的机制,还建立了叶片的平均光谱响应与其生化指标(叶绿素、类胡萝卜素、丙二醛、抗坏血酸和还原型谷胱甘肽)之间的定量关系,回归模型在预测集上的Rp2均高于0.84。总体结果表明,HSI反映了活体植物特性的变化,所提取的FSS可成功跟踪叶斑病发生发展的时空动态进程,实现显症前诊断。在其他植物病害上的试验表明,该方法在植物病害早期控制方面具有较大的推广潜力。朱逢乐 苏珍珠 Alireza Sanaeifar Anand Babu Perumal Mostafa Gouda 周瑞清 李晓丽 何勇 2023Engineering2023,,3:0
5DNA Binding and Antitumor Activity of a New Fluores cent ProbeEu(Ⅲ)-Complex Containing 4-Methyl-Coumarin Moiety显示文摘A new europium(Ⅲ)complex containing(4-Methyl-2-oxo-2 H-chromen-7-yloxy)-acetic acid moiety(CMMC)was synthesized,characterized,and confirmed as antitumor agent and fluorescent probe.The spectroscopic measurements of Eu(Ⅲ)in the presence of CMMC were obtained in different solvents.The results show that the strongest Eu(Ⅲ)emission bands were monitored in iso-propyl alcohol while the weakest Eu(Ⅲ)emission band was observed in acetonitrile.The interaction of Eu(Ⅲ)-(CMMC)2 complex with DNA was monitored using absorption and emission techniques.From fluorescence titration measurements,the binding constants of DNA with Eu(Ⅲ)-(CMMC)_2 complex were found to be 1.04×10~5 L·mol^(-1) in Tris-HCl and 1.17×10~7 L·mol^(-1) in DMSO-Tris-HCl buffer(9∶1 V/V).Hypochromism was observed from the absorption titration experiment which indicates the intercalation of Eu(Ⅲ)-complex between the base pair of DNA.This result further confirmed by fluorescent Ethidium bromide displacement assay.The fluorescence calibration curve was used for the determination of DNA with LOD of 1.2 ng in DMSO-Tris-HCl buffer(9∶1 V/V)and 5 ng in Tris-HCl buffer.The preliminary antitumor investigation shows promising cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231,MCF-7(mammary cancer),and PC-3(prostate carcinoma)cell lines with IC50 values of 40.63,25.42 and 30.25μmol·L^(-1),respectively.Belal H M Hussein Mostafa A Gouda Omer Sakin Abdulla Faluji Mohamed Gomaa Hassan A Azab Walid Fathalla Sherin Arabi Sa wsan Mosa 2018光谱学与光谱分析2018,38,11:0
