| 1 | 盐岩渗透特性的试验研究及其在深部储气库中的应用显示文摘为给深部盐岩地层(≥1500m)中所建天然气储库的稳定性和密闭性评价提供科学指导,针对取自江苏金坛的不同杂质含量盐岩试样,在荷兰乌德勒支大学HPT实验室开展了在三轴压缩条件下的瞬态法渗透率测试研究,揭示盐岩的变形特征与渗透率演化规律。试验研究表明:在围压20 MPa的常温测试条件下,随着偏应力从0~40MPa递增,损伤后的低含泥盐岩的渗透率从10-16m2逐渐下降至10-21m2以下,而损伤后的高含泥盐岩的渗透率则平均高出前者1~2个量级,推测表明损伤后的盐岩在加载下裂纹闭合、孔隙减小、逐渐压缩密实,进而渗透率快速降低,同时也表明外载压密作用对纯盐岩的裂纹压缩闭合、甚至损伤修复作用更显著。根据试验成果,并利用H.Alkan等[11]建立的盐岩压缩–扩容边界线对位于1500~2000 m深部的盐岩地层中的球形腔体的围岩应力状态分析显示,围岩几乎都位于扩容边界以下的安全区域,由此推知:即使在储气库低压运行条件下,围岩中较难发生扩容而导致密闭性失效事件发生,腔体的密闭性能极好。该研究为深部盐穴储气库的可行性和密闭性评价提供有利支撑。 | 刘伟 MUHAMMAD Nawaz 李银平 SPIERS C J 杨春和 马洪岭 | 2014 | 岩石力学与工程学报2014,33,10: | 14 |
| 2 | Suboptimal Temperature Acclimation Enhances Chilling Tolerance by Improving Photosynthetic Adaptability and Osmoregulation Ability in Watermelon显示文摘The temperature drop of plants from the optimal requirements can increase tolerance to severe chilling stress. Photosynthesis and osmoregulators were analyzed during chilling stress to explore the adaptation mechanisms that underlie the induction of chilling tolerance in response to suboptimal temperature. The relationships of these processes to suboptimal temperature acclimation in watermelon were then determined.Suboptimal temperature-acclimated watermelon plants demonstrated tolerance during chilling stress, as indicated by the decreased electrolyte leakage and malondialdehyde accumulation compared with those non-acclimated watermelon plants. Chilling-induced photoinhibition and reduction in CO2 assimilation rate were alleviated after suboptimal temperature acclimation. The xanthophyll cycle level was enhanced by improving thermal dissipation ability and avoiding light damage. Consequently, the chilling tolerance of suboptimal temperature-acclimated watermelon plants was enhanced. The osmoregulation ability induced by suboptimal temperature acclimation protected watermelon plants against chilling injury because of the accumulation of small molecular substances, such as soluble sugar and proline. The protein levels of Rubisco activase(ClRCA) and the gene expression of the Benson–Calvin cycle simultaneously increased in suboptimal temperature-acclimated watermelon plants during chilling stress. | 3 | Effects of medicinal plants on Alzheimer's disease and memory deficits显示文摘Alzheimer's disease is an age-related neurodegenerative disorder characterized by memory deficits. Various studies have been carried out to find therapeutic approaches for Alzheimer's disease. However, the proper treatment option is still not available. There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease, but symptomatic treatment may improve the memory and other dementia related problems. Traditional medicine is practiced worldwide as memory enhancer since ancient times. Natural therapy including herbs and medicinal plants has been used in the treatment of memory deficits such as dementia, amnesia, as well as Alzheimer's disease since a long time. Medicinal plants have been used in different systems of medicine, particularly Unani system of medicines and exhibited their powerful roles in the management and cure of memory disorders. Most of herbs and plants have been chemically evaluated and their efficacy has also been proven in clinical trials. However, the underlying mechanisms of actions are still on the way. | 4 | Comprehensive Mineral Nutrition Analysis of Watermelon Grafted onto Two Different Rootstocks显示文摘Grafting is a widely used practice in fruit-bearing vegetables. However, why grafting affects plant growth, fruit yield, and quality, especially from the aspect of mineral nutrition, remains unclear. In this study, watermelon cultivar ‘Zaojia 8424' was grafted onto bottle gourd ‘Jingxinzhen1'(Lagenaria siceraria) and pumpkin ‘Qingyanzhen 1'(Cucurbita maxima × C. moschata). Non-grafted plants were used as the control. Results show that rootstock grafting significantly increases plant growth and single fruit weight of watermelon. Watermelon grafted onto rootstocks, especially pumpkin, exhibits significantly higher root volume, root surface area, and number of root tips and forks in comparison with non-grafted plants. Fruit flesh, rind firmness, and rind thickness were enhanced by grafting. However, fruit soluble solids and taste significantly decreased in plants grafted onto pumpkin. The total uptake(mg · plant^(-1)) and concentration(mg · g^(-1)DW) of N, K, Ca, Fe, Mg, and Mn in root, stem, leaf,fruit rind, and flesh were generally higher in grafted plants compared to non-grafted ones, especially for N of pumpkin rootstock-grafted plants.The total uptake of nutrients of plants grafted onto bottle gourd and pumpkin was increased by 30.41% and 49.14% at fruit development stage and by 21.33% and 47.46% at fruit maturation stage, respectively, compared with non-grafted plants. | 7 | Effect of rare earth and transition metal La-Mn substitution on electrical properties of co-precipitated M-type Ba-ferrites nanoparticles显示文摘In the current research work Ba_(1-x)La)xMn)yFe_(12-y)O_(19) hexa-ferrite nanoparticles of different compositions were synthesized using chemical co-precipitation technique. The structural properties were explored using X-ray diffractions(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and Fourier transmission infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). XRD indexed pattern confirms the formation of M-type hexagonal phase. The crystallite size of synthesized samples ranges from 13 to 34 ± 2 nm. FTIR peaks observe also confirmed the presence of metaloxygen bond of the desired product. The position of peak at 467 cm^(-1) corresponds to A_2 u vibration for octahedral Fe(4+)-O and peak position E1 u corresponds to vibration of Fe(3+)O4 octahedral bonds. The band v_1 in range(677-559 cm^(-1)) and v_2 in frequency range(356-419 cm^(-1)) are associated to A and B sites.Dielectric properties of all compositions were measured with frequency. The dielectric constant, loss and tangent loss decrease from 26 to 9, 25 to 2 and 0.94 to 0.14, respectively with frequency. | 8 | Seed Priming Influence on Early Crop Growth, Phenological Development and Yield Performance of Linola (Linum usitatissimum L.)显示文摘Reduced early crop growth and limited branching are amongst yield limiting factors of linola. Field response of seed priming treatments viz. 50 mmol L-1 salicylic acid(SA), 2.2% CaCl2 and 3.3% moringa leaf extract(MLE) including untreated dry and hydropriming controls was evaluated on early crop growth and yield performance of linola. Osmopriming with CaCl2 reduced emergence time and produced the highest seedling fresh and dry weights including Chl. a contents. Osmopriming with CaCl2reduced crop branching and fl owering and maturity times and had the maximum plant height, number of branches, tillers, pods and seeds per pod followed by MLE. Increase in seed weight, biological and seed yields was 9.30, 34.16 and 39.49%, harvest index(4.12%) and oil contents(13.39%) for CaCl2 osmopriming. Positive relationship between emergence and seedling vigor traits, 100-seed weight, seed yield with maturity time, 100-seed weight and seed yield were found. The situation can be combat by developing rice varieties with excellent genetics with improved morpho-physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms, together can minimize the adverse effects of heat stress. The molecular structure was determined by FT-IR, NMR, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray technique. X-ray diffraction shows that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a = 13.5980(7), b = 4.9877(2), c = 23.3878(13) ?, β = 93.254(3)o, Z = 4, V = 1583.67(14) ?3, μ = 0.237 mm-1, F(000) = 720, R = 0.0471 and w R = 0.1182. The molecules are related by inversion and paired into dimers via C–H···O interactions. The dimmers are interlinked due to strong N–H···O bonds, where O-atoms are of sulfonyl groups. The molecules are stabilized in the form of infinite two-dimensional network with base vectors [0 1 0] and [0 0 –1] in the plane(1 0 2). The existence of good intermolecular interactions suggests the biological importance of the synthesized molecule. The compound was screened for its interaction with FS-DNA using UV-visible spectroscopy. UV-visible spectroscopic results depict that the compound interacts with DNA by mixed binding mode intercalation along with hydrogen bonding. The molecular structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a = 12.8167(9), b = 8.0966(6), c = 16.7079(9) , β = 98.716(2)o, Z = 4 and V = 1713.8(2). In the crystal, the molecules are related by inversion and paired into dimers via C–H···O and C–O···C interactions involving(oxo) acetate groups. Furthermore, X-ray analysis results are compared with the optimized structure computed by using B3 LYP method with 6-311 G basis set. The calculated results showed that optimized geometry can well reproduce the crystal structure parameters. | 14 | The importance of visualization of appendix on abdominal ultrasound for the diagnosis of appendicitis in children: A quality assessment review显示文摘BACKGROUND:Ultrasound has the first line investigation role in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis in children.The purpose of this study was to perform a quality assessment review on the visualization rate of appendix on ultrasound in children in the community hospital setting.METHODS:A retrospective chart review of the abdominal ultrasound findings for the visualization of the appendix was performed on paediatric patients ranging from 5 to 18 years.Data were collected from the two community hospitals of Toronto by using hospital electronic medical record for the ultrasound findings in patients presented with abdominal pain.RESULTS:Data from two community hospitals indicated visualization rate of the appendix as 11.0%and 23.2%for site 1 and site 2 respectively.In cases where the ultrasound was repeated the visualization rate remains the same.A two-proportion z-test was performed to find whether the visualization of appendix increases the likelihood of diagnosing appendicitis.The results revealed that the visualization of an appendix(P=0.52),significantly improved the diagnosis of appendicitis(z=34,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:Visualization of an appendix on ultrasound increases the likelihood of correctly diagnosing appendicitis.In our study,we found low visualization rate of appendix on ultrasound that could be the result of many factors that contribute towards the low visualization rate of an appendix on ultrasound.Hence,the challenges in identifying appendix should be minimized to improve the visualization and diagnosis of appendicitis on ultrasound. | Muhammad Akhter Hamid Ruqiya Afroz Uqba Nawaz Ahmed Aneela Bawani Dilnasheen Khan Rabia Shahab Asim Salim | 2020 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2020,11,3: | 2 |

Compound 1a was synthesized by the interaction of 6-nitro-tetrazolo[1.5-a]-pyridine with ethyl propynoate at room temperature in the presence of Cu(OAc)2 as a catalyst and THF as solvent. Compound 1b was also synthesized by the same manner except that tert-butyl propionate, instead of ethyl propynoate, was used. The compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. | 17 | Pathogenicity of bacterium, Xenorhabdus nematophila isolated from entomopathogenic nematode (Steinernema carpocapsae) and its secretion against Galleria mellonella larvae显示文摘The entomopathogenic bacterium, Xenorhabdus nematophila was isolated from the hemolymph of Galleria mel- lonella infected with Steinernema carpocapsae. The bacterial cells and its metabolic secretions have been found lethal to the Galleria larvae. Toxic secretion in broth caused 95% mortality within 4 d of application whereas the bacterial cells caused 93% mortality after 6 d. When filter and sand substrates were compared, the later one was observed as appropriate. Similarly, bacterial cells and secretion in broth were more effective at 14% moisture and 25 °C temperature treatments. Maximum insect mortality (100%) was observed when bacterial concentration of 4×106 cells/ml was used. Similarly, maximum bacterial cells in broth (95%) were penetrated into the insect body within 2 h of their application. However, when stored bacterial toxic secretion was applied to the insects its efficacy declined. On the other hand, when the same toxic secretion was dried and then dissolved either in broth or water was proved to be effective. | 18 | 不同钾钠处理对西瓜生长和生理的影响显示文摘以‘早佳’(8424)西瓜为供试材料,在6 mmol·L^(-1)K+0 mmol·L^(-1)Na、0.01 mmol·L^(-1)K+0 mmol·L^(-1)Na、0 mmol·L^(-1)K+0.01 mmol·L^(-1)Na、0.01 mmol·L^(-1)K+5.99 mmol·L^(-1)Na、0 mmol·L^(-1)K+0.01 mmol·L^(-1)Na、6 mmol·L^(-1)K+6 mmol·L^(-1)Na条件下水培处理10 d,分别测定植株干质量,叶绿素含量、光合速率、气孔导度、K、Na浓度。结果表明,以正常供钾(6 mmol·L^(-1)K+0 mmol·L^(-1)Na)为对照,0.01 mmol·L^(-1)K+0 mmol·L^(-1)Na和0 mmol·L^(-1)K+0.01 mmol·L^(-1)Na处理下西瓜植株的干质量、光合速率和钾浓度的降低程度相当,叶片干质量分别下降了57%和58%,表明低浓度的钠起到了代替钾生理功能的作用;相反,0.01 mmol·L^(-1)K+5.99 mmol·L^(-1)Na和0 mmol·L-1K+6 mmol·L^(-1)Na处理加重了低钾胁迫对西瓜植株生长的抑制作用,植株干质量和光合速率显著下降,叶片干质量分别下降了63%和67%,光合速率下降了66%和68%,表明低钾下较高浓度的钠对西瓜产生了毒害作用;6 mmol·L^(-1)K+6 mmol·L^(-1)Na处理对西瓜植株的干质量无显著影响,但光合速率和钾浓度有所降低,光合速率下降了28%,表明正常钾水平下较高浓度的钠对植株具有一定伤害,但比低钾下钠的伤害要轻。本研究结果表明,低浓度的钠能代替钾的部分生理功能,而较高浓度的钠会对植株产生伤害,尤其是西瓜植株处于较低钾水平的情况下。 | 焦妍妍 陈晨 Muhammad Azher Nawaz 别之龙 黄远 | 2016 | 中国瓜菜2016,29,12: | 2 |
| 19 | 子宫颈抹片检查常规筛查宫颈组织、癌前病变或癌变在发展中国家门诊中的运用(英文)显示文摘Objective: Papanicolou (Pap) smear screening has dramatically reduced the incidence of invasive cervical cancer worldwide. Pap smear screening is still not widely available in developing countries and therefore cannot be used as mass screening tool. This study was designed to establish the role of Pap smear as a routine investigation for females presented to gynecological department. Methods: It was a hospital based study. Patients attending with complaints including irregular vaginal bleeding, vagina discharge, dyspareunia, low backache or lower abdominal pain and primary or secondary infertility were included in the study. All these patients underwent pap smear. Results: Age of females was 25 to 60 years. Ninety females had dysplasia. Mild to moderate dysplasia was positive in 84 females. Six patients had severe dysplasia suspicious for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) which was confirmed as invasive SCC on biopsy. All patients with mild to moderate dysplasia were regularly followed at 4 to 6 months. Thirty patients were lost during follow up. Forty had negative smear at 6 months, while fourteen having persistent dysplasia on repeated pap smears were referred for biopsies. Histopathology confirmed invasive SCC in five patients while chronic cervicitis was reported in nine patients. Only two of screened patients with high suspicion for cancer showed false negative results. Directed biopsies done in these confirmed invasive SCC. Conclusion: Pap smear is a useful, simple, non-invasive and reliable screening tool for cervical cancer.
