1Enhancing single-molecule conductance of platinum (Ⅱ) complexes through synergistic aromaticity-assisted structural asymmetry显示文摘Seeking the strategies of designing highly conductive molecular structures is one of the core researches in molecular electronics.As asymmetric structure has manifested feasible properties in comprehensive fields, we introduce the structures of asymmetric platinum(Ⅱ) complexes into the charge transport study at single-molecule scale for the first time. The single-molecule conductance measurement results reveal that, in platinum(Ⅱ)-aryloligoynyl structures, the conductance of asymmetrically coordinated complexes is obviously higher than that of the symmetric isomers with the same molecular length, while the conductance is almost identical in symmetric and asymmetric platinum(Ⅱ)-oligoynyl complexes. Theoretical study uncovers that, upon connecting to the oligoynyl structure, the aromatic group effectively extends the π-system of the whole conductive backbone and gathers the HOMO population mainly on the longer oligoynyl ligand, which reduces the energy barrier in electron transport and enhances the conductance through HOMO energy lifting. 2Effects of spectral resolution and temporal envelope periodicity to musical pitch discrimination显示文摘The main goal of this study was to systematically investigate the relative contribution of spectral resolution and temporal envelope periodicity to musical pitch discrimination. Stimuli from four instruments(clarinet,trumpet,piano and violin) and synthetic complex tone were utilized.A noise-excited vocoder was used to control the spectral resolution and temporal envelope periodicity of the musical stimuli.Ten normal-hearing subjects were recruited for the study.Psychoacoustic experiments on pitch discrimination were carried out.Results showed that the spectral cue was important for musical pitch discrimination.Relative good performance could be achieved when there were 16 frequency channels.No clear effect was found for the temporal envelope periodicity to pitch discrimination.PING Lichuan YUAN Meng TANG Guofang FENG Haihong 2012Chinese Journal of Acoustics2012,31,4:0
3Place-pitch perception in electrical hearing with post-lingually deafened cochlear implant users显示文摘The main goal of this study was to systematically investigate place-pitch perception in electrical hearing and the relative relationship between place-pitch perception ability,speech understanding and musical pitch discrimination by cochlear implant(CI) users.Electrode pitch ranking test was carried out to evaluate the place-pitch perception ability of CI users. Four post-lingually deafened CI users were recruited.They also participated in the speech recognition test and musical pitch discrimination test.Results showed that place pitch were generally ordered from apical to basal electrodes.The apical electrodes were judged lower in pitch than basal electrodes.Large individual difference was found.Comparing pitch and speech performance,the speech recognition result was related to the place-pitch perception ability of CI users,but this relationship was limited by the ceiling effects.However,a correlative relationship was found between musical pitch discrimination result and place-pitch ability of CI users.It indicated that the current signal processing of CI system can provide sufficient information for speech understanding but not for music perception of CI users.To a certain extent,music perception of CI users was determined by their place-pitch abilities.PING Lichuan YUAN Meng TANG Guofang FENG Haihong 2012Chinese Journal of Acoustics2012,31,4:0
4Electric field-driven folding of single molecules显示文摘Folding of molecules is an essential process in nature,and various molecular machines achieve their chemical and mechanical function via controlled folding of molecular conformations.The electric field offers a unique strategy to drive the folding of molecular conformation and to control charge transport through single molecules but remains unexplored.The single-molecule break junction technique provides access to detect the conformational changes via the monitoring of single-molecule conductance,and the electric field between two metal electrodes with nanoscale spacing can provide an extremely strong to achieve in-situ control and detection of molecular folding at the single-molecule level.Here,we use the electric field to control the single-molecule folding using the scanning tunneling microscope break junction(STM-BJ)technique.The electric fields induced folding could lead to a∼1400%conductance change of the single-molecule junctions,and the folding/unfolding process can be in-situ switched at the scale of milliseconds.DFT calculations suggest the conformational control originates from the electric fieldinduced charge injection,and the formation of homoconjugated conformation with the overlapped orbitals.This work provides the first demonstration of electric field-driven molecular folding,which is essential for the understanding of molecular machines in nature and for the design of artificial molecular machines.Saisai Yuan Yu Zhou Tengyang Gao Lichuan Chen Wei Xu Ping Duan Juejun Wang Zhichao Pan Chun Tang Yang Yang Ruiyun Huang Zongyuan Xiao Wenjing Hong 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,1:0
