1Biostratigraphic correlation of the Ordovician black shales in Tarim Basin and its peripheral regions显示文摘Ordovician black shales are widely distributed in the Tarim Basin and its peripheral regions,and some of them may serve as potential hydrocarbon source rocks.The present study of the Ordovician graptolite fauna from these shales,together with the yielded conodonts and chitinozoans etc.,permits a refined correlation of the rocks.Based mainly on a new collecting of the graptolites and a study of the faunas in Kalpin and Kuruktag regions,and the successful identification of the new graptolite material from a few drill cores within the basin,we are able to update our knowledge of the Ordovician in the regions,and draw some conclusions:(1) The most widespread distribution of the black shales in the Tarim Basin and its peripheral regions,which correspond to the Nemagraptus gracilis Zone,may be related to a global sea-level rise during this time interval.(2) Black shales of Ordovician occur most frequently and extensively in the Kuruktag(also spelled as Quruq Tagh) region in east-ern Tianshan Mountains,spanning Tremadocian to mid-Katian(D.spiniferus Zone) temporally and extending southeastwards into Manjiaer Depression.The black shales of the D.spiniferus Zone may even extend into the central Tarim Basin.(3) Three different bio-and litho-facies belts(Bachu:carbonate platform and reef belt;Kalpin-Aksu:marginal platform and upper slope belt;Wushi:slope belt) are recognized in the northwestern Tarim Basin.(4) The internationally well-correlated Saergan black shale,which has been considered to possess high potential for hydrocarbon source rock,may possess a restricted distribution in the Kalpin and Aksu areas.CHEN Xu ZHANG YuanDong LI Yue FAN JunXuan TANG Peng CHEN Qing ZHANG YuanYuan 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,8:8
2LSECtin on tumor-associated macrophages enhances breast cancer sternness via interaction with its receptor BTN3A3显示文摘Macrophages have bee n suggested to con tribute to con structing a cancer stem cell(CSC)niche.However,whether and how macrophages regulate the activity of CSCs through juxtacrine signaling are poorly understood.Here we report LSECtin,a transmembrane protein highly expressed on tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs),enhances sternness of breast cancer cells(BCCs).We identified BTN3A3,a B7 family member with previously unknown functions as the receptor for LSECtin on BCCs responsible for stemness-promoting effect of LSECtin.In mice bearing human tumor xenografts,either macrophage-specific ablation of LSECtin or silencing of BTN3A3 in BCCs decreased CSC frequency and tumor growth.Admixture of LSECtin-positive macrophages increased the tumorigenic activity of BCCs dependent on BTN3A3.Disruption of the LSECtin-BTN3A3 axis with BTN3A3-Fc or anti-BTN3A3 mAb has a therapeutic effect on breast cancer.These findings define a juxtacrine signaling mechanism by which TAMs promote cancer stemness.Targeting this axis in the CSC niche may provide potential therapies to breast cancer.Di Liu Qian Lu Xing Wang Jun Wang Ning Lu Zefei Jiang Xiaopeng Hao Jianbin Li Jing Liu Pengbo Cao Guilin Peng Yuandong Tao Dianyuan Zhao Fuchu He Li Tang 2019Cell Research2019,29,5:8
3Simultaneous removal of NO_(x)and chlorobenzene on V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)granular catalyst:Kinetic study and performance prediction显示文摘The synergetic abatement of multi-pollutants is one of the development trends of flue gas pollution control technology,which is still in the initial stage and facing many challenges.We developed a V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)granular catalyst and established the kinetic model for the simultaneous removal of NO and chlorobenzene(i.e.,an important precursor of dioxins).The granular catalyst synthesized using vanadyl acetylacetonate precursor showed good synergistic catalytic performance and stability.Although the SCR reaction of NO and the oxidation reaction of chlorobenzene mutually inhibited,the reaction order of each reaction was not considerably affected,and the pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics was still followed.The performance prediction of this work is of much value to the understanding and reasonable design of a catalytic system for multi-pollutants(i.e.,NO and dioxins)emission control.Lina Gan Kezhi Li Hejingying Niu Yue Peng Jianjun Chen Yuandong Huang Junhua Li 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,4:2
4Spatial and temporal patterns of the sensitivity of radial growth response by Picea schrenkiana to regional climate change in the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Climate change significantly impacts forest ecosystems in arid and semi-arid regions.However,spatiotemporal patterns of climate-sensitive changes in individual tree growth under increased climate warming and precipitation in north-west China is unclear.The dendrochronological method was used to study climate response sensitivity of radial growth of Picea schrenkiana from 158 trees at six sites during 1990-2020.The results show that climate warming and increased precipitation significantly promoted the growth of trees.The response to temperature first increased,then decreased.However,the response to increased precipitation and the self-calibrating Palmer Drought Severity Index(scPDSI)increased significantly.In most areas of the Tianshan Mountains,the proportion of trees under increased precipitation and scPDSI positive response was relatively high.Over time,small-diameter trees were strongly affected by drought stress.It is predicted that under continuous warming and increased precipitation,trees in most areas of the Tianshan Mountains,especially those with small diameters,will be more affected by precipitation.Zhongtong Peng Yuandong Zhang Liangjun Zhu Mingming Guo Qingao Lu Kun Xu Hui Shao Qifeng Mo Shirong Liu 2023Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,6:1

6Divergent responses of Picea crassifolia Kom.in different forest patches to climate change in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Global climate changes have significantly affected tree growth and forest structures and functions in some arid and semi-arid regions,which are becoming warmer and wetter.Due to natural factors such as climate and terrain,some tree species may form different forest patches at the edges of their distribution areas.However,how forest patches of various sizes respond to climate change is unclear.In this study,we collected 203 tree cores from six different sizes of forest patches at the edge of the distribution area of Picea crassifolia Kom.in the northeast Tibetan Plateau.And we used the dendrochronology method to study the response of tree growth and resilience in different forest patches to climate change from 1961 to 2020.We simultaneously measured the contents of nonstructural carbohydrates(NSC),total nitrogen and total phosphorus of tree needles.Our results showed that the growth of trees in small-and medium-size forest patches(0.8–18.6 ha)has increased significantly.The early growing season(May–July)minimum temperature was the most important climate factor driving the growth of small-and medium-sized patch trees.The early growing season maximum temperature was the most important climate factor that inhibited the growth of trees in the largest patches(362.8 ha).The growth of individual trees in medium forest patches was better and the correlation with annual minimum temperature,maximum temperature,precipitation,actual evapotranspiration,and palmer drought severity index was stronger.The higher NSC content,stronger photosynthesis,and higher nitrogen utilization efficiency in leaves might be one of the reasons for the better growth of trees in moderate forest patches.In extreme drought years,as the forest patch area increased,the overall trend of tree growth resistance showed a unimodal pattern,with the highest at a forest patch area of 7.1 ha,while the overall trend of tree growth recovery was opposite.Therefore,we should strengthen the management of trees in large forest patches to cope with climate change.Zhongtong Peng Qifeng Mo Liangjun Zhu Qingao Lu Jiaqing Cai Mingming Guo Kun Xu Yuandong Zhang 2023Forest Ecosystems2023,10,6:0

8Highly sensitive plasmonic nanorod hyperbolic metamaterial biosensor显示文摘Plasmonic sensing based on nanostructures is a powerful analytical tool for ultrasensitive label-free biomolecule detection that holds great potential in the field of clinical diagnostics and biomedical research.Here,we report the fabrication,the characterization,and the principle of operation of gold nanorod hyperbolic metamaterials(NHMMs) along with ultrasensitive bulk refractive index and label-free biomolecular detection.By combining electron-beam lithography and nanoscale electroplating,we demonstrate the fabrication of a highly ordered,height-controllable,and vertical array of nanorods.By exciting the bulk plasmon–polariton mode in the NHMM using a prism-coupling technique and integrating the sensor in microfluidics,we demonstrate that the bulk sensitivity and figure of merit of our device could reach 41,600 nm/RIU and 416 RIU^(-1),respectively.The physical mechanism of this high bulk sensitivity is revealed through theoretical and experimental studies.Moreover,by bio-functionalizing the surface of the NHMM sensor,monitoring the binding of streptavidin at dilute concentrations is performed in real time.We test different concentrations of streptavidin ranging from 200 to 5 μg/m L,and the NHMM biosensor exhibits a 1 nm wavelength shift for a 5 μg/m L streptavidin detection.By fitting the Hill equation of the NHMM biosensor and taking into account the level of noise(0.05 nm) as the minimum wavelength shift of the detectable limit,the limit of detection of the NHMM biosensor to streptavidin can be estimated to be 0.14 μg/m L(2.4 nm).As a direct comparison,a 0.5 nm wavelength shift for 20 μg/m L of streptavidin is reported when using a conventional gold film sensor under identical experimental conditions.The developed plasmonic NHMM sensor shows tremendous potential for highly sensitive bulk solutions and biomolecule detection and provides a promising avenue for free-label biosensing applications in the future.RUOQIN YAN TAO WANG XINZHAO YUE HUIMIN WANG YU-HUI ZHANG PENG XU LU WANG YUANDONG WANG JINYAN ZHANG 2022Photonics Research2022,10,1:0
9Silurian integrative stratigraphy,biotas,and paleogeographical evolution of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas显示文摘The Silurian palaeontology and stratigraphy of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau have been studied for more than100 years.With the launch of the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research,it is necessary to update the summaries of the Silurian stratigraphy and fossil assemblages of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and their correlation with its surrounding areas.In this study,we have selected 33 sections from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings areas,summarised the available data in terms of stratigraphic regionalisation,lithostratigraphy,chronostratigraphy,and biostratigraphy,and divided the study area into four stratigraphic provinces:the Xizang-Western Yunnan-Western Sichuan Province,the KunlunQilian Province,the South China Province,and the Tarim Province.In general,the Silurian strata in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is more complete than those in other areas of China.Palaeobiogeographical studies of the vertebrate faunas,sporomorph assemblages,and brachiopod faunas of the study area indicate a closer geographical relationship between the South China,Tarim,and Indochina palaeoplates,than previously considered.Compared with the surrounding areas where Silurian strata have been extensively studied,the study of Silurian strata in the main part of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is still in the preliminary stage.In the future,it is necessary to conduct research on the age,distribution,and resource potential of basal Silurian black shales to provide new directions for shale gas exploration and development in China.The shallow marine strata of the middle to upper Silurian require further subdivision.Considering that the Silurian System in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is more complete,it has the potential to supplement and improve the study of the carbon isotope stratigraphy of the Silurian in China.Zhongyang CHEN Qing CHEN Guangxu WANG Xiang FANG Peng TANG Guanzhou YAN Wenwei YUAN Bing HUANG Xiaole ZHANG Kui YAN Yuandong ZHANG Yi WANG 2024Science China Earth Sciences2024,67,4:0
