2Recent progress and perspective of electrochemical CO_(2) reduction towards C_(2)-C_(5) products over non-precious metal heterogeneous electrocatalysts显示文摘Electroreduction of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)ER)into value-added chemical compounds has presented as a promising route for renewable carbon cycle,which alleviates global warming concern.Compared with traditional C1 products,high-value multicarbon products converted from atmospheric CO_(2) via CO_(2)ER have attracted dramatic interest due to their significant economic efficiency,however desired catalytic selectivity of multicarbon products is difficult to achieve because of the high thermodynamic barriers and complex reaction pathways.To replace currently used precious-metal based catalysts,developing highly efficient and precious-metal-free CO_(2)ER catalysts based on earth abundant elements is the top priority to meet the requirements of industrialization.Although certain progress has been made,there are still few systematic reports on the non-precious metal heterogeneous(NPMH)CO_(2)ER electrocatalysts for efficient conversion of CO_(2) to multicarbon products.Herein,we summarize the latest research advances in recent developments of NPMH electrocatalysts,including nanostructured Cu,Cu-based bimetallic catalysts,Cu-based complexes,and carbon-based Cu-free catalysts for electroreduction of CO_(2) into high-value multicarbon products.The corresponding CO_(2)ER performances are discussed in the order of the types of multicarbon products,specifically for ethanol(C2H5OH),ethylene(C2H4),ethane(C2H6),acetic acid(CH3COOH),propanol(C3H7OH),and other O^(2+)products with a special attention paid to understand the structure-activity relationship.Moreover,key strategies and characterization techniques for catalytic mechanism insights,and unsolved issues and future trends for enhancing the CO_(2)ER performance of NPMH electrocatalysts are highlighted,which provides a constructive guidance on the development of CO_(2)ER electrocatalysts with high activity and selectivity for multicarbon products.Jiayi Chen Tingting Wang Zhongjian Li Bin Yang Qinghua Zhang Lecheng Lei Pingyun Feng Yang Hou 2021Nano Research2021,14,9:7
3T cell-depleting nanoparticles ameliorate bone loss by reducing activated T cells and regulating the Treg/Th17 balance显示文摘Estrogen deficiency is one of the most frequent causes of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.Under chronic inflammatory conditions caused by estrogen deficiency,activated T cells contribute to elevated levels of proinflammatory cytokines,impaired osteogenic differentiation capabilities of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMMSCs),and disturbed regulatory T cell(Treg)/Th17 cell balance.However,therapeutic strategies that re-establish immune homeostasis in this disorder have not been well developed.Here,we produced T cell-depleting nanoparticles(TDNs)that ameliorated the osteopenia phenotype and rescued the osteogenic deficiency of BMMSCs in ovariectomized(OVX)mice.TDNs consist of monocyte chemotactic protein-1(MCP-1)-encapsulated mesoporous silica nanoparticles as the core and Fas-ligand(FasL)as the corona.We showed that the delicate design of the TDNs enables rapid release of MCP-1 to recruit activated T cells and then induces their apoptosis through the conjugated FasL both in vitro and in vivo.Apoptotic signals recognized by macrophages help skew the Treg/Th17 cell balance and create an immune tolerant state,further attenuating the osteogenic deficiency of BMMSCs and the osteopenia phenotype.Mechanistically,we found that the therapeutic effects of TDNs were partially mediated by apoptotic T cell-derived extracellular vesicles(ApoEVs),which promoted macrophage transformation towards the M2 phenotype.These findings demonstrate that TDNs may represent a promising strategy for treating osteoporosis and other immune disorders.Xiaoshan Yang Fuxing Zhou Pingyun Yuan Geng Dou Xuemei Liu Siying Liu Xiangdong Wang Ronghua Jin Yan Dong Jun Zhou Yajie Lv Zhihong Deng Shiyu Liu Xin Chen Ying Han Yan Jin 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:4

12Emergence of a novel reassortant avian influenza virus(H10N3) in Eastern China with high pathogenicity and respiratory droplet transmissibility to mammals显示文摘Decades have passed since the first discovery of H10-subtype avian influenza virus(AIV) in chickens in 1949,and it has been detected in many species including mammals such as minks,pigs,seals and humans.Cases of human infections with H10N8viruses identified in China in 2013 have raised widespread attention.Two novel reassortant H10N3 viruses were isolated from chickens in December 2019 in eastern China during routine surveillance for AIVs.The internal genes of these viruses were derived from genotype S(G57) H9N2 and were consistent with H5N6,H7N9 and H10N8,which cause fatal infections in humans.Their viral pathogenicity and transmissibility were further studied in different animal models.The two H10N3 isolates had low pathogenicity in chickens and were transmitted between chickens via direct contact.These viruses were highly pathogenic in mice and could be transmitted between guinea pigs via direct contact and respiratory droplets.More importantly,these viruses can bind to both human-type SAα-2,6-Gal receptors and avian-type SAα-2,3-Gal receptors.Asymptomatic shedding in chickens and good adaptability to mammals of these H10N3 isolates would make it easier to transmit to humans and pose a threat to public health.Kaituo Liu Pingyun Ding Yuru Pei Ruyi Gao Wenwen Han Huafen Zheng Zhuxing Ji Miao Cai Jinyuan Gu Xiuli Li Min Gu Jiao Hu Xiaowen Liu Shunlin Hu Pinghu Zhang Xiaobo Wang Xiaoquan Wang Xiufan Liu 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:1
13Atomically precise metal chalcogenide supertetrahedral clusters:frameworks to molecules,and structure to function显示文摘Metal chalcogenide supertetrahedral clusters(MCSCs) are of significance for developing crystalline porous framework materials and atomically precise cluster chemistry.Early research interest focused on the synthetic and structural chemistry of MCSC-based porous semiconductor materials with different cluster sizes/compositions and their applications in adsorption-based separation and optoelectronics.More recently,focus has shifted to the cluster chemistry of MCSCs to establish atomically precise structure-composition-property relationships,which are critical for regulating the properties and expanding the applications of MCSCs.Importantly,MCSCs are similar to Ⅱ-Ⅵ or Ⅰ-Ⅲ-Ⅵ semiconductor nanocrystals(also called quantum dots,QDs) but avoid their inherent size polydispersity and structural ambiguity.Thus,discrete MCSCs,especially those that are solution-processable,could provide models for understanding various issues that cannot be easily clarified using QDs.This review covers three decades of efforts on MCSCs,including advancements in MCSC-based open frameworks(reticular chemistry),the precise structure-property relationships of MCSCs(cluster chemistry),and the functionalization and applications of MCSC-based micro crystals.An outlook on remaining problems to be solved and future trends is also presented.Jiaxu Zhang Pingyun Feng Xianhui Bu Tao Wu 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:1
14Stimuli responsive co-delivery of celecoxib and BMP2 from micro-scaffold for periodontal disease treatment显示文摘Controlling inflammation meanwhile facilitating tissue regeneration has been considered as a promising strategy to treat inflammatory bone defect. Herein, we describe the synthesis of a bio-sensitive poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/mesoporous silica nanocarriers core-shell porous microsphere(PLGA/MSNsPMS) encapsulated poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA) spongy nanofibrous micro-scaffold as a new generation of therapeutic platform for effective reconstruction of bone defects caused by periodontal diseases.The PLGA/MSNs-PMS were designed as stimuli-responsive carriers for on-demand co-delivery of multiple biomolecules to provide proper physiological environment, while the multi-level(from macro-,micro-to nanometers) nanofibrous and porous structures in PLLA micro-scaffold were in charge of the reconstruction of ECM, which synergistically contribute to the enhancement of new tissue formation under inflammatory condition. After local injection into periodontal tissue, this construct could sequentially release bone growth factor(BMP-2) as well as anti-inflammatory drug(celecoxib) loaded MSNs in response to the over-expressed matrix metalloproteinases(MMP) in periodontal region. 17A variable structure passivity control method for elastic joint robots based on cascaded high-order state estimation显示文摘Passivity-based controllers are widely used to facilitate physical interaction between humans and elastic joint robots,as they enhance the stability of the interaction system.However,the joint position tracking performance can be limited by the structures of these controllers when the system is faced with uncertainties and rough high-order system state measurements(such as joint accelerations and jerks).This study presents a variable structure passivity(VSP)control method for joint position tracking of elastic joint robots,which combines the advantages of passive control and variable structure control.This method ensures the tracking error converges in a finite time,even when the system faces uncertainties.The method also preserves the passivity of the system.Moreover,a cascaded observer,called CHOSSO,is also proposed to accurately estimate high-order system states,relying only on position and velocity signals.This observer allows independent implementation of disturbance compensation in the acceleration and jerk estimation channels.In particular,the observer has an enhanced ability to handle fast time-varying disturbances in physical human-robot interaction.The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulations and experiments on a lower limb rehabilitation robot equipped with elastic joints.ZHANG JieXin NIE PingYun ZHANG Bo 2024Science China(Technological Sciences)2024,67,2:0
18Redox-responsive micelles integrating catalytic nanomedicine and selective chemotherapy for effective tumor treatment显示文摘Chemotherapy is one of the most conventional modalities for cancer therapy.However,the high multidrug resistance of tumor cells still limited the clinical application of current chemotherapy.Considering the ability of nitric oxide(NO) to modulate potent P-glycoprotein to inhibit multi-drug resistance,a synergistic methodology combining chemotherapy and sustained NO generation is an ideal way to further promote the chemotherapy.Herein,a multi-functional micelle with tumor-selective chemotherapy driven by redox-triggered doxorubicin(DOX) release and drug resistance inhibition based on intracellular NO generation was fabricated for effective tumor treatment.The micelle consists of DOX as core,arginine/glucose oxidase(Arg/GOx) as shell and redox-responsive disulfide bond as a linker,which is denoted as micelle-DOX-Arg-GOx.The Arg serves as the biological precursor of nitric oxide for inhibition of multi-drug resistance to promote chemotherapy and GOx catalyzes glucose to produce hydrogen peroxide(H_(2) O_(2)) for increasing the generation of NO.Moreover,the glucose supply could be simultaneously blocked by the catalytic process,which further enhanced therapeutic efficiency.This micelle requests a tumor-specific microenvironment(a considerable amount of GSH) to perform synergistic therapeutics including chemotherapy,starvation therapy(catalytic medicine),and gas therapy for tumor treatment,which resulted in significant cytotoxicity to tumor tissue.Ronghua Jin Zhongning Liu Tao Liu Pingyun Yuan Yongkang Bai Xin Chen 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10:0
19Maternal-derived antibodies hinder the antibody response to H9N2 AIV inactivated vaccine in the field显示文摘The H9N2 subtype avian influenza virus(AIV)inactivated vaccine has been used extensively in poultry farms,but it often fails to stimulate a sufficiently high immune response in poultry in the field,although it works well in laboratory experiments;hence,the virus still causes economic damage every year and poses a potential threat to public health.Based on surveillance data collected in the field,we found that broilers with high levels of maternal-derived antibodies(MDAs)against H9N2 virus did not produce high levels of antibodies after vaccination with a commercial H9N2 inactivated vaccine.In contrast,specific pathogen-free(SPF)chickens without MDAs responded efficiently to that vaccination.When MDAs were mimicked by administering passively transferred antibodies(PTAs)into SPF chickens in the laboratory,similar results were observed:H9N2-specific PTAs inhibited humoral immunity against the H9N2 inactivated vaccine,suggesting that H9N2-specific MDAs might hinder the generation of antibodies when H9N2 inactivated vaccine was used.After challenge with homologous H9N2 virus,the virus was detected in oropharyngeal swabs of the vaccinated and unvaccinated chickens with PTAs but not in the vaccinated chickens without PTAs,indicating that H9N2-specific MDAs were indeed one of the reasons for H9N2 inactivated vaccine failure in the field.When different titers of PTAs were used to mimic MDAs in SPF chickens,high(HI=12 log2)and medium(HI=log 9 log2)titers of PTAs reduced the generation of H9N2-specific antibodies after the first vaccination,but a booster dose would induce a high and faster humoral immune response even of PTA interference.This study strongly suggested that high or medium titers of MDAs might explain H9N2 inactivated vaccine failure in the field.Xue Pan Xin Su Pingyun Ding Jinhua Zhao Hongrui Cui Dawei Yan Qiaoyang Teng Xuesong Li Nancy Beerens Haitao Zhang Qinfang Liu Mart C.M.de Jong Zejun Li 2022Animal Diseases2022,2,2:0
