| 1 | Rolling texture and its effect on tensile property of a near-α titanium alloy Ti60 plate显示文摘Rolling texture and its effect on tensile properties of Ti60 alloy plates were investigated in the present study. The plates were β-rolled at 1070℃ and(α+β)-rolled at 980℃, using uni-directionally rolling(UDR) and cross-directionally rolling(CDR) processes, respectively.β-rolled plates exhibited weak textures, which were attributed to the dispersive orientations of secondary α during the β→α phase transformation. Strong deformation textures formed in(α+β)-rolled plates as a result of slipping mechanisms: the strong T-type texture in UDR plate was related to {10 1 0}[11 2 0] slipping, while the B-type texture in CDR plate was relevant with {0001}[11 2 0] slip. Strong T-type textures led to anisotropic tensile properties. B-type textures would decrease such an anisotropy. | 2 | Microstructural evolution and FCC twinning behavior during hot deformation of high temperature titanium alloy Ti65显示文摘Although the development of titanium alloys with working temperatures above 600?C faces enormous difficulties and challenges,the related research has not stopped.In the present work,detailed analyses on microstructure evolution and hot deformation behavior of a new temperature resistant 650?C titanium alloy Ti65 were investigated from micrometer scale to nanometer scale.The results revealed that lamellarαgrains gradually fragmentized and spheroidized during theα+βphase region compression and the orientation of the c-axis ofαgrains gradually aligned to radial directions,forming two high Schmid factors(SFs)value texture eventually with the increase of strain to 0.7.Moreover,there were some strengthening characters in theα+βphase region such as lenticularαsand nano silicide(TiZr)6 Si3.In theβphase region,fine equiaxed dynamic recrystallized(DRX)βgrains were formed.Besides,the variant selection ofαm′artensite followed Burgers orientation relationship during the compression process.The main deformation mechanisms of theα+βphase region were dislocation slip and orientation dependent spheroidization.Whereas,the deformation process in theβphase region was controlled byβgrain DRX.Interestingly,many nano scale FCC twins were generated at the interface ofαl′ath during deforming in theβphase region,which was firstly observed in Ti65 alloy. | Zhixin Zhang Jiangkun Fan Bin Tang Hongchao Kou Jian Wang Xin Wang Shiying Wang Qingjiang Wang Zhiyong Chen Jinshan Li | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,14: | 10 |
| 3 | Mechanical properties of electron beam welded dissimilar joints of TC17 and Ti60 alloys显示文摘Microstructure, hardness, tensile and high cycle fatigue(HCF) properties of the welded dissimilar joints of Ti60 and TC17 titanium alloys had been investigated in this study. A significant microstructural change was observed to occur after welding, with rod-like α and β phases in the fusion zone(FZ), equiaxed αphases, fine α laths and β phases in the heat-affected zone(HAZ) of TC17 side and acicular martensiteα' phases+ 'ghost' α phases in the HAZ of Ti60 side. The microhardness across the joints exhibited an inhomogeneous distribution with the highest hardness of ~404 HV in FZ and the lowest hardness of^304 HV in base material(BM) of Ti60. All the joints tested in tension fractured at BM of Ti60 side.Fatigue limits of the joints at 107 cycles were 425 MPa at room temperature and 380 MPa at 400℃,respectively. | 4 | Review of ice-pavement adhesion study and development of hydrophobic surface in pavement deicing显示文摘Ice adhesion to materials is a significant concern in many fields. Hydrophobic surface has been used for anti-icing in fields of aircraft or transmission line, which prove to be efficacious and economical. However, such technique is seldom employed for road deicing,because of the texture and service environment of pavement. Instead, deicers such as rock salt are frequently used, which leads to serious corrosion problem of roads and bridges. In this paper, a number of studies that characterize mechanism of ice adhesion to common substrates, specifically to pavement, are reviewed. The most important researches undertaken on ice adhesion strength affecting factors are presented. An overview of studies carried out to find hydrophobic surface for asphalt and cement concrete pavement antiicing are presented. It was verified that the hydrophobicity had high correlation with icephobicity, and nano-engineered asphalt and cement concrete pavement surface exhibited favorable hydrophobicity, and also had good performance on weakening pavement-ice bonding. However, most ice-repelling pavements obtain hydrophobic surface via low surface energy coating, which could not exist on pavement for a long time under wheel abrasion. And the nano/micro structures on hydrophobic surfaces are also vulnerable and consumable. | 6 | Orientation dependent behavior of tensile-creep deformation of hot rolled Ti65 titanium alloy sheet显示文摘The mill products like sheet always have one or more severe textures inevitably,and its effect on mechanical properties is not a negligible issue.The orientation dependent tensile-creep behavior induced by rolling texture of Ti65 titanium alloy sheet has been systematically investigated at 650℃.There are some anisotropic characteristics between TD and RD of Ti65 sheet.The UTS and TYS of TD are higher than RD at 650℃.Besides,the creep endurance time of TD(172.6–174.5 h)is about three times longer than RD(55.6–65.1 h)at 650℃and 240 MPa.Moreover,the grains are inclined to form Texture III■after creep along with TD,but to form Texture I■after creep along with RD.Finally,the crack initiation site is different during creep in TD and RD.The reason for anisotropic properties of tensile and creep has been summarized in two aspects:(i)the change of the SFs(Schmid factors)value between TD and RD;(ii)the difference of creep mechanism between TD(grain boundary sliding)and RD(dislocation slip).Anisotropy of Ti65 sheet should be fully considered to increase structural efficiency in the engineering design and application. | Zhixin Zhang Jiangkun Fan Ruifeng Li Hongchao Kou Zhiyong Chen Qingjiang Wang Hailong Zhang Jian Wang Qi Gao Jinshan Li | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,16: | 7 |
| 7 | Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Electron Beam Welded Titanium Alloy Ti-6246显示文摘Electron beam welding(EBW) was applied to a 10-mm-thick plate cut from Ti-6246 compressor disk.The microstructural characteristics, microhardness and room temperature tensile properties were investigated. Microstructure observations indicated that there existed plenty of thin needle-like α platelets studding in the matrix of the columnar β grains in the as-welded fusion zone(FZ). Post-weld heat treatment(PWHT) led to the precipitation of small secondary α platelets in the β matrix in heat affected zone and FZ. The thickness and the density of α platelets increased as the temperature of PWHT increased from545 to 645°C. The microhardness across the Ti-6246 EBW joint exhibited a nonuniform distribution. The hardness increased with the decrease of distance to the weld center, and reached the maximum of 467 HV in FZ when PWHT was carried out at 595°C. All the weldments tested with tension were fractured at the base material(BM) and exhibited a ductile fracture mode. The major deformation barrier in BM was the platelet α/β interfaces, however, the major deformation barrier in FZ was found to be β grain boundaries and secondary α/β interfaces. | 8 | Dwell and Normal Cyclic Fatigue Behaviours of Ti60 Alloy显示文摘An experimental study of dwell and normal cyclic fatigue behaviours was carried out using specimens from a Ti60 forging with a bimodal microstructure.Apparent decrease in the fatigue life was found under dwell fatigue condition as compared to that under normal cyclic condition.Strain produced in each cycle in dwell fatigued specimens was observed larger than that in its normal cyclic-fatigued counterparts.Interior crack initiation was found in most dwell fatigued specimens as compared to the subsurface crack initiation under normal cyclic fatigue condition.Flat and bright facets were found at crack initiation sites in both cases.The facet density is higher in dwell condition,which is consistent with the crystal orientation and Schmid factors analysis of a grains around secondary cracks using electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD) methods.Dwell loading favours cleavage in a grains with their basal plane normals aligned no more than 15° to the loading axis,which may account for its lower fatigue life according to the present study. | Lina Yang Jianrong Liu Jun Tan Zhiyong Chen Qingjiang Wang Rui Yang | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,7: | 5 |

| 10 | Influences of nozzle parameters and low-pressure on jet breakup and droplet characteristics显示文摘Experiments were carried out to investigate the influences of nozzle geometric parameters and injection pressure on jet breakup characteristics using a high-speed photography(HSP)technique.The flow rates and spraying ranges of sprinkler with different nozzles were measured.In this research,HSP technique was also used to photograph the drops emitted by sprinkler with different nozzles at different pressures,photographs were taken at different horizontal distances from the sprinkler and the equivalent circle diameter was used to represent the particle sizes.Based on HSP technology,the effects of flow velocity and nozzle geometric parameters on jet breakup length were studied,and the droplet diameters with different nozzle types were obtained.The result showed that for the sprinkler with different nozzles,the breakup length decreased with the increases of pressures.At the nearby(3-9 m)region and distant(12-18 m)region of sprinkler,the droplet diameters of sprinkler with type B nozzle were the largest,which meant the sprinkler with type B nozzle was the optimal choice by synthesizing the droplet diameter distribution.The fitting relationship of jet breakup length with Reynolds number and Weber number(Re and We),and the regression equation of the end droplet diameters were deduced with errors of less than 5%and 4%respectively. | Jiang Yue Chen Chao Li Hong Xiang Qingjiang | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,4: | 3 |

| 13 | Creep Behavior of Fusion Zone and Base Metal of the Electron Beam Weldments of a Near-alpha Titanium Alloy显示文摘The high temperature creep behavior of fusion zone(FZ) and base metal(BM) of the electron beam weldments of a near-alpha titanium alloy Ti-60 has been investigated.While the BM shows a fully transformed,coarse primary β grains with large colonies consisting of aligned α lamellar,the FZ exhibits thin martensitic α platelets in the columnar β grains.The creep results show that the steady state creep rates of FZ follow the power-law creep,with the stress exponents obtained in the range from 5.6(550°C) to 5.9(600°C),and corrected activation energies of 309-352 kJ/mol;the stress exponents of BM exhibit different values when the creep testing stress and temperature alternate.The values of 2.4-3.2 are obtained when the stresses are under 220 MPa or the temperature is 550°C,also an exponent of 6.6 is achieved at stresses above 220 MPa at 600°C.The corrected activation energies of BM corresponding to the stress exponents are 123-161 kJ/mol(n=2.4-3.2) and 344 kJ/mol(n=6.6).The creep mechanisms of FZ and BM have been discussed in light of the creep microstructures,activation energies and the stress exponents.The creep mechanisms of FZ is the diffusion controlled dislocation climb,the creep of BM is controlled by 'solute drag' creep and dislocation climb when the stress and temperature are different.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) observations of the dislocation structures of crept specimens are presented to give some supports for the creep behavior of FZ and BM.In addition to the creep mechanism of dislocation movement,the interface sliding has been found to play an important role during creep of FZ. | Zhiyong Chen Jinwei Li Jie Liu Qingjiang Wang Jianrong Liu Rui Fang | 2010 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2010,26,6: | 1 |
