1Distribution and source of microplastics in China's second largest reservoir-Danjiangkou Reservoir显示文摘Fresh water microplastic pollution is of pressing concern globally,but its distribution and sources in reservoirs are poorly documented.Danjiangkou Reservoir is the second largest reservoir in China and is divided into the Han Reservoir and Dan Reservoir.In this work,microplastic abundances and morphological characteristics of the reservoir were investigated.The microplastic abundance of 15 main tributaries of the reservoir was also measured.The vertical distribution(in water column and sediment),horizontal distribution(in Han Reservoir and Dan Reservoir)and source of microplastics were analyzed.Microplastics accumulated in the middle layer of the reservoir,and the size and color of the microplastic particles changed from the surface to the bottom,which implies that surveys of surface water are not enough to determine the microplastic contamination for deep water reservoirs.In the surface water,the microplastic abundance in the Han Reservoir was lower than that in the Dan Reservoir(p<0.05),but microplastic abundance did not differ significantly in the intermediate and bottom water.Tributaries were one of the main sources of microplastics for Han Reservoir but not for Dan Reservoir.Agricultural cultivation in the hydro-fluctuation belt might be an important source of microplastics in the Dan Reservoir,which should be given additional attention.The results of this study can provide valuable information for developing microplastic sampling strategies in deep water reservoirs.Further studies are recommended to investigate the process through which microplastics in the hydro-fluctuation belt enter the reservoir and the sinking behavior of microplastics in the reservoir.Li Lin Xiong Pan Sheng Zhang Danwen Li Wenliang Zhai Zhen Wang Jingxiang Tao Changqing Mi Qingyun Li John C.Crittenden 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:13
2Responses of ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms to biochar and compost amendments of heavy metals-polluted soil显示文摘Heavy metal pollution affects soil ecological function.Biochar and compost can effectively remediate heavy metals and increase soil nutrients.The effects and mechanisms of biochar and compost amendments on soil nitrogen cycle function in heavy-metal contaminated soils are not fully understood.This study examined how biochar,compost,and their integrated use affected ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms in heavy metal polluted soil.Quantitative PCR was used to determine the abundance of ammonia-oxidizing archaea(AOA)and bacteria(AOB).Ammonia monooxygenase(AMO)activity was evaluated by the enzymelinked immunosorbent assay.Results showed that compost rather than biochar improved nitrogen conversion in soil.Biochar,compost,or their integrated application significantly reduced the effective Zn and Cd speciation.Adding compost obviously increased As and Cu effective speciation,bacterial 16 S rRNA abundance,and AMO activity.AOB,stimulated by compost addition,was significantly more abundant than AOA throughout remediation.Correlation analysis showed that AOB abundance positively correlated with NO_(3)^(-)-N(r=0.830,P<0.01),and that AMO activity had significant correlation with EC(r=-0.908,P<0.01)and water-soluble carbon(r=-0.868,P<0.01).Those seem to be the most vital factors affecting AOB community and their function in heavy metal-polluted soil remediated by biochar and compost.Mingyue Li Jiachao Zhang Xiao Yang Yaoyu Zhou Lihua Zhang Yuan Yang Lin Luo Qingyun Yan 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:5
3Distribution and sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and phthalic acid esters in water and surface sediment from the Three Gorges Reservoir显示文摘After the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR), the hydrological situation of the reservoir has changed greatly. The concentration and distribution of typical persistent organic pollutants in water and sediment have also changed accordingly. In this study, the concentration, distribution and potential sources of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) and 6 phthalic acid esters(PAEs) during the water drawdown and impoundment periods were investigated in water and sediment from the TGR. According to our results, PAHs and PAEs showed temporal and spatial variations. The mean ΣPAH and ΣPAE concentrations in water and sediment were both higher during the water impoundment period than during the water drawdown period. The water samples from the main stream showed larger ΣPAH concentration fluctuations than those from tributaries. Both the PAH and PAE concentrations meet the Chinese national water environmental quality standard(GB 3838-2002). PAH monomers with 2–3 rings and 4 rings were dominant in water, and 4-ring and 5–6-ring PAHs were dominant in sediment. Di-n-butyl phthalate(DBP) and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate(DEHP)were the dominant PAE pollutants in the TGR. DBP and DEHP had the highest concentrations in water and sediment, respectively. The main source of PAHs in water from the TGR was petroleum and emissions from coal and biomass combustion, whereas the main sources of PAHs in sediments included coal and biomass combustion, petroleum, and petroleum combustion. 5Soil Characteristics Overwhelm Cultivar Effects on the Structure and Assembly of Root-Associated Microbiomes of Modern Maize显示文摘Modern breeding primarily targets crop yield traits and is likely to influence root-associated microbiomes, which play significant roles in plant growth and health. The relative importance of soil and cultivar factors in shaping root-associated microbiomes of modern maize (Zea mays L.) remains uncertain. We conducted a pot experiment in a controlled environment using three soils (Mollisol, Inceptisol, and Ultisol) and four contrasting cultivars, Denghai 605, Nonghua 816, Qiaoyu 8, and Zhengdan 958, which are widely planted in China. We used 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing to characterize the bacterial communities in the bulk soil, rhizosphere, and endosphere. Our results showed that the four cultivars had different shoot biomass and root exudate total organic carbon and organic acid contents. The microbiomes in the bulk soil, rhizosphere, and endosphere were different. We observed apparent community divergence between soils rather than cultivars, within which edaphic factors substantially contributed to microbiome variation. Moreover, permutational multivariate analysis of variance corroborated significant contributions of soil type but not cultivar on the root-associated microbiome structure. Differential abundance analysis confirmed that each soil presented a distinct root microbiome, while network analysis indicated different co-occurrence patterns of the root microbiome among the three soils. The core root microbiome members are implicated in plant growth promotion and nutrient acquisition in the roots. In conclusion, root-associated microbiomes of modern maize are much more controlled by soil characteristics than by cultivar root exudation. 6Recent progress in Co-based metal-organic framework derivatives for advanced batteries显示文摘To date,Co-based metal-organic frameworks(Co-MOFs)have drawn much attention owing to their advantages of easy preparation,high porosity and adjustable structure.Because of these enticing properties,numerous efforts have been devoted to their applications in energy storage and conversion.However,poor conductivity has become one of the biggest obstacles for large-scale use of pristine Co-MOFs.Subsequently,many attempts have been carried out to develop various Co-MOF derived materials as electrodes for rechargeable batteries in order to address the above-mentioned shortcoming and to enhance the electrical conductivity with improved stability during cycling.Moreover,in addition to improvement of Li-ion batteries in practical utilization,seeking for other rechargeable batteries is another urgent task due to the high cost and limited sources of metallic Li.Herein,by following the recent research progress,this review provides an overview of applications of Co-MOF derived materials in various rechargeable batteries including lithium-ion batteries,sodium-ion batteries,lithium-sulfur batteries,zinc air batteries and other rechargeable batteries,where they have been utilized as cathodes,anodes,separators and electrocatalysts.Accordingly,we categorize and compare the morphology driven electrochemical performance of various Co-MOF derivatives including porous carbon,cobalt oxides,cobalt chalcogenides,cobalt phosphides and corresponding composites.Finally,current challenges for large-scale production and commercialization of Co-MOF derived materials as well as some reasonable solutions have been discussed at the end.Jianen Zhou Qingyun Yang Qiongyi Xie Hong Ou Xiaoming Lin Akif Zeb Lei Hu Yongbo Wu Guozheng Ma 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,1:2
7Molecular-based Integrated Identification of Bacterial Blight(Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. dieffenbachiae) in Anthurium and Detection of Latent Infection显示文摘Bacterial blight,caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. dieffenbachiae( Xad),is the most destructive disease of anthurium worldwide,and no effective control technique has been developed currently. The comprehensive survey and precise detection of the pathogen is essential for evaluating disease progress and strengthening management to avoid a serious epidemic. In this study,a total of 253 blight-suspected samples of anthurum and other Araceae species were collected across the country,and 166 potential pathogenic bacteria strains were isolated and purified,after combined analysis on the characteristics of morphology,pathogenicity,16 S r DNA sequences and amplicons of Xad-specific SCAR markers. Finally,93 of which were considered as X. axonopodis pv. dieffenbachiae. In addition,by using a nested-PCR in repeated detections,17 out of 21 prevalent anthurium cultivars without blight symptom exhibited latent infection even in young leaves. 11IL13Rα1 prevents a castration resistant phenotype of prostate cancer by targeting hexokinase 2 for ubiquitin-mediated degradation显示文摘Objective:Androgen deprivation therapy(ADT)is still the principal treatment option for prostate cancer(PCa).In addition to reactivation of androgen receptor signaling,the resistance of PCa to apoptosis during ADT also contributes to castration resistant PCa(CRPC).A previous study reported that gene transfer of IL-13Rα2 into PCa cells sensitized the cells to the IL-13R-targeted cytotoxin IL13Rα1,leading to apoptosis.Compared with IL-13Rα2,IL13Rα1 is more constitutively expressed in PCa cells,but its function in PCa remains to be established.Methods:We determined the role and expression of IL13Rα1 in PCa cancer cells using western blotting,flow cytometry,and cell proliferation assays.Co-immunoprecipitation and mass spectrometry were used to identify the proteins that interacted with IL13Rα1,to elucidate its function.Results:In this study,we showed that IL13Rα1 was selectively suppressed in androgen-deprived PCa cells and that its suppression tended to be associated with poor prognoses of PCa patients.IL13Rα1 overexpression promoted apoptosis and inhibited tumor growth under androgen-deprived or castrated conditions(P<0.01).Mechanistically,IL13Rα1 recruited and facilitated ubiquitin protein ligase E3C-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of hexokinase 2(HK2),resulting in glycolytic inhibition and eventually leading to PCa cell apoptosis.Furthermore,our data revealed that mutated ataxia-telangiectasia kinase phosphorylated and facilitated the selective ubiquitin proteasome-mediated degradation of HK2.Notably,IL13Rα1-overexpressing PCa cells were more susceptible to apoptosis and exhibited reduced tumor growth after exposure to the HK2 inhibitor,2-deoxy-D-glucose(P<0.01).Conclusions:Our data identified a tumor suppressor role for IL13Rα1 in preventing the resistance of PCa cells to apoptosis during androgen deprivation by inhibiting glycolysis.IL13Rα1-mediated signaling involving HK2 may therefore provide a novel treatment target and strategy for CRPC.Tingting Feng Jing Wang Kai Cheng Qiqi Lu Ru Zhao Shiguan Wang Qingyun Zhang Luna Ge Jihong Pan Guanhua Song Lin Wang 2022Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,7:0
12Modeling the Impacts of Nitrogen Dynamics on Regional Terrestrial Carbon and Water Cycles over China with Noah-MP-CN显示文摘As an important part of biogeochemical cycling,the nitrogen cycle modulates terrestrial ecosystem carbon storage,water consumption,and environmental quality.Modeling the complex interactions between nitrogen,carbon and water at a regional scale remains challenging.Using China as a testbed,this study presents the first application of the nitrogenaugmented community Noah land surface model with multi-parameterization options(Noah-MP-CN)at the regional scale.Noah-MP-CN parameterizes the constraints of nitrogen availability on photosynthesis based on the Fixation and Uptake of Nitrogen plant nitrogen model and the Soil and Water Assessment Tool soil nitrogen model.The impacts of nitrogen dynamics on the terrestrial carbon and water cycles are investigated by comparing the simulations with those from the original Noah-MP.The results show that incorporating nitrogen dynamics improves the carbon cycle simulations.NoahMP-CN outperforms Noah-MP in reproducing leaf area index(LAI)and gross primary productivity(GPP)for most of China,especially in the southern warm and humid regions,while the hydrological simulations only exhibit slight improvements in soil moisture and evapotranspiration.The impacts of fertilizer application over cropland on carbon fixation,water consumption and nitrogen leaching are investigated through a trade-off analysis.Compared to halved fertilizer use,the actual quantity of application increases GPP and water consumption by only 1.97%and 0.43%,respectively;however,the nitrogen leaching is increased by 5.35%.This indicates that the current level of fertilizer use is a potential concern for degrading the environment.Jingjing LIANG Zong-Liang YANG Xitian CAI Peirong LIN Hui ZHENG Qingyun BIAN 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,7:0
13Symplastic communication in the root cap directs auxin distribution to modulate root development显示文摘Root cap not only protects root meristem,but also detects and transduces the signals of environmental changes to affect root development.The symplastic communication is an important way for plants to transduce signals to coordinate the development and physiology in response to the changing enviroments.However,it is unclear how the symplastic communication between root cap cells affects root growth.Here we exploit an inducible system to specifically block the symplastic communication in the root cap.Transient blockage of plasmodesmata(PD)in differentiated collumella cells severely impairs the root development in Arabidopsis,in particular in the stem cell niche and the proximal meristem.The neighboring stem cell niche is the region that is most sensitive to the disrupted symplastic communication and responds rapidly via the alteration of auxin distribution.In the later stage,the cell division in proximal meristem is inhibited,presumably due to the reduced auxin level in the root cap.Our results reveal the essential role of the differentiated collumella cells in the root cap mediated signaling system that directs root development.Meng Li Mengxue Wang Qingyun Lin Mengyao Wang Xufang Niu Jie Cheng Meizhi Xu Yaxin Qin Xinyi Liao Jian Xu Shuang Wu 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,4:0
14Risk of extended viral shedding of Omicron BA.2 in Shanghai:Implications for vaccination strategy optimization显示文摘Background:In late March 2022,an outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by the Omicron BA.2 strain occurred in Shanghai,China.This retrospective study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics,laboratory parameters,and vaccine protectiveness related to this disease in China.Methods:We conducted a single-center retrospective study on 735 patients with COVID-19 hospitalized from March 17 to May 14,2022.Clinical characteristics were analyzed based on vaccination status and viral shedding time(VST).The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)regression and 5-fold cross-validation were applied to screen factors linked to the rate of the VST.Generalized linear models were further applied to estimate the odds ratios for factors influencing the VST.Results:The median VST of unvaccinated patients was 13(11-16)days,which was longer than that of patients vaccinated with one or two doses(11[9-13]days)and with completed booster doses(11[8-12]days).A LASSO regression model and 5-fold cross-validation showed that age of≥60 years(β=0.01),pneumonia(β=0.53),and higher number of comorbidities(β=0.69)were positively associated with the VST,whereas the platelet count(β=-8.0×10-5)was inversely associated with the VST.Subgroup analysis revealed that the number of vaccinations was significantly associated with a decreased VST among patients with renal dysfunction(odds ratio[OR],0.65;95%confidence interval[CI],0.44-0.97;P=0.034)and patients with two or more comorbidities(OR,0.09;95%CI,0.03-0.28;P<0.001).The lymphocyte count was significantly associated with a decreased VST among patients aged<60 years(OR,0.51;95%CI,0.30-0.85;P=0.011),patients with normal renal function(OR,0.41;95%CI,0.21-0.80;P=0.009),and patients with fewer than two comorbidities(OR,0.49;95%CI,0.30-0.80;P=0.005).Conclusion:Our preliminary results suggest that the complete and booster vaccination contributes to the viral clearance of Omicron BA.2 variants,while the protectiveness of vaccination is most imperative in patients with impaired renal function and more comorbidities.Jingwen Huang Lin Huang Jing Xi Yong Li Jianping Zhou Zhiyao Bao Qijian Cheng Qingyun Li Min Zhou Ren Zhao Yanan Li 2023Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,4:0

16Evaluation System and Correlation Analysis for Determining the Performance of a Semiconductor Manufacturing System显示文摘Numerous performance indicators exist for semiconductor manufacturing systems.Several studies have been conducted regarding the performance optimization of semiconductor manufacturing systems.However,because of the complex manufacturing processes,potential complementary or inhibitory correlations may exist among performance indicators,which are difficult to demonstrate specifically.To analyze the correlation between the performance indicators,this study proposes a performance evaluation system based on the mathematical significance of each performance indicator to design statistical schemes.Several samples can be obtained by conducting simulation experiments through the performance evaluation system.The Pearson correlation coefficient method and canonical correlation analysis are used on the received samples to analyze linear correlations between the performance indicators.Through the investigation,we found that linear and other complex correlations exist between the performance indicators.This finding can contribute to our future studies regarding performance optimization for the scheduling problems of semiconductor manufacturing.Qingyun Yu Li Li Hui Zhao Ying Liu Kuo-Yi Lin 2021Complex System Modeling and Simulation2021,1,3:0
17Discovery and druggability evaluation of pyrrolamide-type GyrB/ParE inhibitor against drug-resistant bacterial infection显示文摘The bacterial ATP-competitive GyrB/ParE subunits of type II topoisomerase are important anti-bacterial targets to treat super drug-resistant bacterial infections.Herein we discovered novel pyrrolamide-type GyrB/ParE inhibitors based on the structural modifications of the candidate AzD5099 that was withdrawn from the clinical trials due to safety liabilities such as mitochondrial toxicity.The hydroxyisopropyl pyridazine compound 28 had a significant inhibitory effect on Gyrase(GyrB,IC_(50)=49 nmol/L)and a modest inhibitory effect on TopoⅣ(ParE,IC_(50)=1.513μmol/L)of Staphylococcus aureus.It also had significant antibacterial activities on susceptible and resistant Gram-positive bacteria with a minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of less than 0.03μg/mL,which showed a time-dependent bactericidal effect and low frequencies of spontaneous resistance against S.aureus.Compound 28 had better protective effects than the positive control drugs such as DS-2969(5)and AZD5099(6)in mouse models of sepsis induced by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)infection.It also showed better bactericidal activities than clinically used vancomycin in the mouse thigh MRSA infection models.Moreover,compound 28 has much lower mitochondrial toxicity than AZD5099(6)as well as excellent therapeutic indexes and pharmacokinetic properties.At present,compound 28 has been evaluated as a pre-clinical drug candidate for the treatment of drug-resistant Gram-positive bacterial infection.On the other hand,compound 28 also has good inhibitory activities against stubborn Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli(MIC=1μg/mL),which is comparable with the most potent pyrrolamide-type GyrB/ParE inhibitors reported recently.In addition,the structure-activity relationships of the compounds were also studied.Xintong Zhao Jing Feng Jie Zhang Zunsheng Han Yuhua Hu Hui-Hui Shao Tianlei Li Jie Xia Kangfan Lei Weiping Wang Fangfang Lai Yuan Lin Bo Liu Kun Zhang Chi Zhang Qingyun Yang Xinyu Luo Hanyilan Zhang Chuang Li Wenxuan Zhang Song Wu 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,12:0
18THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MICRO--COMPUTER BASED GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM显示文摘In this paper,authors introduce the establishment of a Micro-computer Based Geographic Information System(MCGIS),which is one of the subsystems of The Loess Plateau Geographic Information System (LP-GIS) being carried out by the REIS Laboratory and several universities of China on various types and levels of computer.MCGIS is developed on the micro-computer Gteat Wall-286.Its purpose is to providean information system with powerful perforrmance,which could be afforded by thosecounty-level units or departments,so that the general guide-line of multi-function,multi-level and multi-user can come to practice. 20Actively separated microneedle patch for sustained-release of growth hormone to treat growth hormone deficiency显示文摘Growth hormone deficiency(GHD)has become a serious healthcare burden,and presents a huge impact on the physical and mental health of patients.Here,we developed an actively separated microneedle patch(PAA/NaHCO_(3)^(-)Silk MN)based on silk protein for sustained release of recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH).Silk protein,as a friendly carrier material for proteins,could be constructed in mild full-water conditions and ensure the activity of rhGH.After manually pressing PAA/NaHCO_(3)^(-)Silk MN patch to skin for 1 min,active separation is achieved by absorbing the interstitial fluid(ISF)to trigger HCO_(3)^(-)in the active backing layer to produce carbon dioxide gas(CO_(2)).In rats,the MN patch could maintain the sustained release of rhGH for more than 7 days,and produce similar effects as daily subcutaneous(S.C.)injections of rhGH in promoting height and weight with well tolerated.Moreover,the PAA/NaHCO_(3)^(-)Silk MN patch with the potential of painless self-administration,does not require cold chain transportation and storage possess great economic benefits.Overall,the PAA/NaHCO_(3)^(-)Silk MN patch can significantly improve patient compliance and increase the availability of drugs,meet current unmet clinical needs,improve clinical treatment effects of GHD patients.Li Yang Qingyun Liu Xinhui Wang Nansha Gao Xiuzhen Li Hongzhong Chen Lin Mei Xiaowei Zeng 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,1:0
