Peptide fraction from sturgeon muscle by pepsin hydrolysis exerts anti-inflammatory effects in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages via MAPK and NF-κB pathways显示文摘Previous studies have suggested that polypeptides extracted from milk, soybean, fish, eggs, and meat possess potential anti-inflammatory effects. To date, few studies have reported the anti-inflammatory function of sturgeon peptides and their underlying mechanisms are unknown. The current study was therefore to determine the anti-inflammatory potential of sturgeon peptides with lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW264.7 inflammatory model. Pepsin hydrolysate (PeH) was purified by ultrafiltration and Sephadex G-15 gel filtration chromatography. PeH significantly reduced the inflammatory mediator (NO) and inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β) expression in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, the purified sturgeon peptide (F2) possessed strong antioxidant potential and effectively inhibited DPPH and ABTS free radicals. F2 significantly suppressed the expression of MAPK, IκBα, and NF-κB p65, indicating that F2 exerted anti-inflammatory influence by the inhibition of MAPK and NF-κB pathways. | Ruichang Gao Wanghui Shu Yang Shen Quancai Sun Wengang Jin Dajing Li Ying Li Li Yuan | 2021 | Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,1: | 6
Seismic damage to structures in the Ms6.5 Ludian earthquake显示文摘On 3 August 2014,the Ludian earthquake struck northwest Yunnan Province with a surface wave magnitude of 6.5.This moderate earthquake unexpectedly caused high fatalities and great economic loss.Four strong motion stations were located in the areas with intensity V,VI,VII and IX,near the epicentre. The characteristics of the ground motion are discussed herein, including 1)ground motion was strong at a period of less than 1.4 s,which covered the natural vibration period of a large number of structures;and 2)the release energy was concentrated geographically.Based on materials collected during emergency building inspections, the damage patterns of adobe, masonry, timber frame and reinforced concrete(RC)frame structures in areas with different intensities are summarised.Earthquake damage matrices of local buildings are also given for fragility evaluation and earthquake damage prediction. It is found that the collapse ratios of RC frame and confined masonry structures based on the new design code are significantly lower than non-seismic buildings. However, the RC frame structures still failed to achieve the ‘strong column, weak beam' design target.Traditional timber frame structures with a light infill wall showed good aseismic performance. | Chen Hao Xie Quancai Dai Boyang Zhang Haoyu Chen Hongfu | 2016 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2016,15,1: | 2

Seismic damage to road networks subjected to earthquakes in Nepal,2015显示文摘The Gorkha earthquake in Nepal led to many landslides and severe damage to the transportation infrastructure. After careful comparison of the aerial photographs and satellite images before and after the earthquake, partially verified by a field study, more than 2,064 landslides and many road failures were observed. Many bridges, especially steel-truss and suspension bridges, suffered little damage from inertia loads during the earthquake, but were severely damaged due to rockfalls. Potential geological hazards hindered the delivery of supplies in mountainous areas, and road closures impeded the overall speed of rehabilitation. | Xie Quancai Lü Gaohu Chen Hao Xu Chong Feng Biao | 2017 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2017,16,3: | 1

Pesticides exposure induced obesity and its associated diseases:recent progress and challenges显示文摘The potential influence of pesticide residue exposure on glucose and lipid metabolism dysregulation has received extensive attention in recent years due to its great threat to food safety and human health. To understand the most recent research progress,we reviewed the publications about the influence and mechanisms of different pesticides’exposure on the development of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and the associated diseases from 2015 to 2021 in this paper.Pesticides from several different classes were observed to significantly promote 3T3-L1 adipocytes adipogenesis and fat accumulation.Several key adipogenic regulators, including CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteinα(C/EBPα),peroxisome proliferators-activated receptors(PPARγ),fatty acid synthase increased(FAS),and glucose transporter 4(GLUT4)were suggested to be responsible for the enhanced adipogenesis induced by pesticides.Besides, these pesticides may inhibit the phosphorylation of adenosine 5′-monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)to promote the expression of these key adipogenic regulators. Moreover, apolipoprotein E3(apoE3)expressing mice or mice with high-fat diet are more vulnerable to pesticide-induced obesity.Besides, pesticides may also alter the gut microbiota, destroy the gut barrier integrity, enabling the lipopolysaccharide to enter the gut, thereby causing inflammation, eventually leading to lipogenesis.Although emerging evidences are linking pesticides exposure to impaired glucose, lipid metabolism, and altered gut microbiota, more mechanism and epidemiology studies,as well as the determination of physiological levels of pesticides, are needed to better understand the role of pesticide exposure in the development of these chronic diseases. | Fangshuo Jiang Ye Peng Quancai Sun | 2022 | Journal of Future Foods2022,2,2: | 0
Study on ground temperature change and characteristic response of engineering geology of permafrost along Qinghai-Tibet Railway显示文摘Along with the global warming in the recent scores of years, comparatively big changes have taken place in the weather and other environmental conditions of the permafrost area in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and very big changes have also occurred in the engineering geological conditions of the permafrost area. Based on a large volume of field survey data, this paper discusses the regularities of horizontal and vertical distribution of permafrost, with its focus of analysis on the temperature change characteristics of the soil in different frozen-soil zones, as well as presents simulation analysis and research for the engineering geologic characteristic response changes that would occur in the future when the temperature of the frozen soil in different zones rises by 1 and 2.6℃ respectively, which will have a tremendous impact on the stability of constructional work. | PAN Weidong, WANG Quancai, YU Shaoshui & ZHANG Xiaoyan Department of Mechanics, School of Physical Science and Technology, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou 730000, China Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources, Chengdu 610041, China State Key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering, Cold and Arid Regions Environment and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou 730000, China Sichuan Provincial Communications Department, Chengdu 610041, China | 2003 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2003,46,z1: | 0
Benign Adjusting Effects of Long Tunnel on Environment and Slope Hazards:taking Erlang Mountain Tunnel as an example显示文摘The 21st century shall be a century of accelerated development of tunnel construction in China. But until now, what have been frequently stated in reports about influence of tunnels on environment are basically negative. In fact, this is not true. Tunnels, especially those extend across sensitive areas do exert some positive functions on improving environment and preventing local slope hazards. These positive effects, being new phenomena, are found and put forward by the authors after a series of careful observations have been carried out and in-depth analysis performed the first time. Meanwhile, it is a positive evaluation that the authors made upon tunnels. Many important phenomena and data are cited as evidence and their causative factors are analyzed in this paper as well. | WANG Quancai WANG Lansheng ZENG Lin CHEN Yong | 2006 | Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2006,11,4: | 0
Purifi cation and identification of anti-inflammatory peptides from sturgeon (Acipenser schrenckii) cartilage显示文摘Cartilage is a nonedible byproduct with little saleable value. However, previous studies have proposed the possibility of producing peptides from cartilage with immune function modulation potential. The current study aimed to investigate the potential anti-inflammatory activity of peptides derived from sturgeon(Acipenser schrenckii)cartilage in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages.Five peptide sequences, including four novel peptides, were identified from ethanol-soluble cartilage hydrolysates.Among these five peptides,LTGP,LLLE,LLEL and VGPAGPAGP reduced the production of nitric oxide(NO)and interleukin-6(IL-6)while increasing interleukin-10(IL-10)excretion.Transcriptome analysis suggested the inhibition of activated mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and interleukin-17(IL-17)signaling pathways after LLEL intervention.MAPK,which is involved in the IL-17 signaling pathway, was further proved to be blocked by downregulating the phosphorylation of p38,extracellular-signal regulated protein kinase(ERK),and c-jun N-terminal kinase(JNK).This novel peptide offers an attractive approach to develop functional foods. | Li Yuan Qian Chu Bei Yang Wei Zhang Quancai Sun Ruichang Gao | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6: | 0
