Holocene aeolian stratigraphic sequences in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China and their palaeoenvironmental implications显示文摘This paper presents the environmental history and its responses to palaeoclimatic changes since the start of the Holocene in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China by comparing the aeolian sandpalaeosol sequences and their palaeoclimatic proxies. The optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) ages of the aeolian sandpalaeosol sedimentary sequences and a series of palaeoenvironmental proxies show that:(1) The large-scale dune landscape currently in the Kubuqi Sand Sea was formed during the Holocene in general;and the palaeosol was generally developed during the period of 4–2 ka, indicating conditions favorable for vegetation growth, soil development, and organic carbon accumulation due to increased precipitation or effective moisture and weakened aeolian activities;the large-scale expansion of dunes in the recent 2 ka is closely linked to human activities. The variable discharge of the Yellow River with diversions for irrigation may have resulted in a more consistent supply of aeolian particles for dune field expansion.(2) The dune landscape of the Hunshandake Sandy Land was likely formed around 12 ka, and before this, the western part of the Hunshandake Sandy Land would have been covered by a single large lake;it was obviously wetter than today in the sandy land during the period of 9.6–3 ka and the palaeosols were developed at the same time. But the aeolian activities have not been completely dormant in this long-lasting wetter epoch;because the Holocene wetter period was likely time-transgressive across the region.(3) The palaeosol of the Hulunbuir Sandy Land began to develop as early as 14.5 ka, probably continuing until the last 2 ka. The palaeosol development of various dune fields in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China is spatially heterogeneous, and even the palaeosol development time in different locations within each sandy land is inconsistent. During the middle Holocene(especially the 7.5–3.5 ka), all the sandy lands were stabilized in general and the intensity of aeolian activities was significantly weakened. The number of palaeoenvironmental records in the eastern portion of the desert belt(sand seas and sandy lands) in northern China has increased rapidly in the past decade, but the amount of published data still does not match the vast extent of the dune fields. It does require much more in-depth palaeoenvironmental studies for a full understanding of the relationship between aeolian activities and climate change in northern China. | Xiaoping YANG Peng LIANG Deguo ZHANG Hongwei LI Patrick RIOUAL Xulong WANG Bing XU Zhibang MA Qianqian LIU Xiaozong REN Fangen HU Yuxin HE Gang RAO Ninghua CHEN | 2019 | Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,8: | 10
Low dispersion finite volume scheme based on reconstruction with minimized dispersion and controllable dissipation显示文摘The reconstruction with minimized dispersion and controllable dissipation(MDCD) optimizes dispersion and dissipation separately and shows desirable properties of both dispersion and dissipation.A low dispersion finite volume scheme based on MDCD reconstruction is proposed which is capable of handling flow discontinuities and resolving a broad range of length scales.Although the proposed scheme is formally second order accurate, the optimized dispersion and dissipation make it very accurate and robust so that the rich flow features encountered in practical engineering applications can be handled properly.A number of test cases are computed to verify the performances of the proposed scheme. | WANG QiuJu REN YuXin SUN ZhenSheng SUN YuTao | 2013 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,2: | 7
A new equivalent method to obtain the stoichiometric fuel-air cloud from the inhomogeneous cloud based on FLACS-dispersion显示文摘The fuel-air cloud resulting from an accidental discharge event is normally irregular in shape and varying in concentration. Performance of dispersion simulations using the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)-based tool FLACS can get an uneven and irregular cloud. For the performance of gas explosion study with FLACS, the equivalent stoichiometric fuel-air cloud concept is widely applied to get a representative distribution of explosion loads. The Q9 cloud model that is employed in FLACS is an equivalent fuel-air cloud representation, in which the laminar burning velocity with first order SL and volume expansion ratio are taken into consideration. However, during an explosion in congested areas, the main part of the combustion involves turbulent flame propagation. Hence, to give a more reasonable equivalent fuel-air size, the turbulent burning velocity must be taken into consideration. The paper presents a new equivalent cloud method using the turbulent burning velocity, which is described as a function of SL, deduced from the TNO multi-energy method. | Yulong Zhang Yuxin Cao Lizhi Ren Xuesheng Liu | 2018 | Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2018,8,2: | 5
Ultraviolet-to-microwave room-temperature photodetectors based on three-dimensional graphene foams显示文摘Highly sensitive broadband photodetection is of critical importance for many applications. However,it is a great challenge to realize broadband photodetection by using a single device. Here we report photodetectors(PDs)based on three-dimensional(3 D)graphene foam(GF)photodiodes with asymmetric electrodes, which show an ultra-broadband photoresponse from ultraviolet to microwave for wavelengths ranging from 10~2 to 10~6 nm.Moreover, the devices exhibit a high photoresponsivity of 10~3 A·W^-1,short response time of 43 ms,and3 d B bandwidth of 80 Hz.The high performance of the devices can be attributed to the photothermoelectric(PTE,also known as the Seebeck)effect in 3 D GF photodiodes. The excellent optical, thermal, and electrical properties of 3 D GFs offer a superior basis for the fabrication of PTE-based PDs.This work paves the way to realize ultra-broadband and high-sensitivity PDs operated at room temperature. | YIFAN LI YATING ZHANG YU YU ZHILIANG CHEN QINGYAN LI TENGTENG LI JIE LI HONGLIANG ZHAO QUAN SHENG FENG YAN ZHEN GE YUXIN REN YONGSHENG CHEN JIANQUAN YAO | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,3: | 4
Drag reduction of compressible wall turbulence with active dimples显示文摘Direct numerical simulations are carried out to assess the potential drag reduction of compressible turbulent flow between isothermal walls. For the sake of achieving drag reduction, the flow is actively controlled by deformable dimples lying on the bottom wall of the channel. The first stage of the procedure consists in assessing the optimum geometry of the dimples. In this regard, the lower wall is allowed to freely deform itself according to the loop of control. This method is called the smart wall approach in this paper.By an analysis of the typical shape of the wall deformation thus obtained,it is found that dimples should be thinner than or comparable to the width of streaky structures in the spanwise direction and elongated in the streamwise direction. With active dimples as the wall-deformation actuators,a 15% drag reduction is obtained for the flow at Mam = 0.35 while the drag reduction rate is about 12% for the flow at Mam = 1.5.The fundamental mechanism of the drag reduction is then discussed in this paper. The drag reduction is believed to result from two aspects:the reduction of the mean streamwise velocity gradient near the deformable wall and the suppression of the turbulent fluctuations. | SUN ZhenSheng REN YuXin LARRICQ Cedric | 2011 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,2: | 3
Space diversification process and evolution mechanism of typical village in the suburbs of Guangzhou:A case study of Beicun显示文摘The reform of global production mode and social system accelerate the process of urbanization, and the urban-rural factors accelerate rural space diversification.Based on the space production theory and game theory, this paper analyzed the space diversification process and its influence on Beicun village. The results show that:(1)In the past 30 years, the development of Beicun has experienced three stages:agricultural development, industrial development, and service industrial development. The industrial structure has changed from single to diverse. The transformation of agricultural decentralization to rural community has been realized.(2)Accompanying the rural economic development transformation, the land use type and structure of Beicun has diversified. The spatial relationship of various types of land use was complicated and gave rise to new characteristics of mixed land for commercial and residential use,and industrial and commercial use, gradually forming a circular spatial layout structure model of public service facilities, traditional residential areas and modern residential areas, commercial areas, agricultural and industrial areas.(3)Rural space diversification was mainly due to the intervention of new industries and the transformation of leading industries. The endogenous land transferring mechanism and exogenous urban capital jointly promoted the industrialization process, and the market power promoted the transformation of industry into the service industry.(4)The industrialization process promoted the functional replacement of historical buildings by village organizations. It changed the social relations of the village with the blood clan and geography oriented, and produced the occupational relation between migrant workers and urban low-income groups.(5)The multi-differentiation of suburban rural space followed the game logic of capital and land interests. The rural community played a key mediation in the competition for space and the game of interests among local villagers, farmers, economic cooperation, industrial operators, and service owners. | YANG Ren PAN Yuxin XU Qian | 2020 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2020,30,7: | 3
High-order compact finite volume methods on unstructured grids with adaptive mesh refinement for solving inviscid and viscous flows显示文摘In the present paper, high-order finite volume schemes on unstructured grids developed in our previous papers are extended to solve three-dimensional inviscid and viscous flows. The highorder variational reconstruction technique in terms of compact stencil is improved to reduce local condition numbers. To further improve the efficiency of computation, the adaptive mesh refinement technique is implemented in the framework of high-order finite volume methods. Mesh refinement and coarsening criteria are chosen to be the indicators for certain flow structures. One important challenge of the adaptive mesh refinement technique on unstructured grids is the dynamic load balancing in parallel computation. To solve this problem, the open-source library p4 est based on the forest of octrees is adopted. Several two-and three-dimensional test cases are computed to verify the accuracy and robustness of the proposed numerical schemes. | Jianhua PAN Qian WANG Yusi ZHANG Yuxin REN | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2018,31,9: | 3
A class of fully third-order accurate projection methods for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations显示文摘In this paper, a fully third-order accurate projection method for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is proposed. To construct the scheme, a continuous projection procedure is firstly presented. We then derive a sufficient condition for the continuous projection equations to be temporally third-order accurate approximations of the original Navier-Stokes equations by means of the localtruncation-error-analysis technique. The continuous projection equations are discretized temporally and spatially to third-order accuracy on the staggered grids, resulting in a fully third-order discrete projection scheme. The possibility to design higher-order projection methods is thus demonstrated in the present paper. A heuristic stability analysis is performed on this projection method showing the probability of its being stable. The stability of the present scheme is further verified through numerical tests. The third-order accuracy of the present projection method is validated by several numerical test cases. | Yuxin Ren Yuxi Jiang Miao'er Liu Hanxin Zhang | 2005 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2005,21,6: | 2
A novel humanized MUC1 antibody–drug conjugate for the treatment of trastuzumab-resistant breast cancer显示文摘Mucin 1(MUC1)has been regarded as an ideal target for cancer treatment, since it is overexpressed in a variety of different cancers including the majority of breast cancer. However, there are still no approved monoclonal antibody drugs targeting MUC1.In this study,we generated a humanized MUC1(HzMUC1)antibody from our previously developed MUC1 mouse monoclonal antibody that only recognizes MUC1 on the surface of tumor cells.Furthermore,an antibody–drug conjugate(ADC)was generated by conjugating HzMUC1 with monomethyl auristatin(MMAE),&the efficacy of HzMUC1-MMAE on the MUC1-positive HER2+breast cancer in vitro&in‘Xenograft’model was tested. Results from western blot analysis&immunoprecipitation revealed that the HzMUC1 antibody did not recognize cell-free MUC1-N in sera from breast cancer patients.Confocal microscopy analysis showed that HzMUC1 antibody bound to MUC1 on the surface of breast cancer cells. Results from mapping experiments suggested that HzMUC1 may recognize an epitope present in the interaction region between MUC1-N and MUC1-C.Results from colony formation assay&flow cytometry demonstrated that HzMUC1-MMAE significantly inhibited cell growth by inducing G2/M cell cycle arrest&apoptosis in trastuzumab-resistant HER2-positive breast cancer cells.Meanwhile,HzMUC1-MMAE significantly reduced the growth of HCC1954 xenograft tumors by inhibiting cell proliferation&enhancing cell death. In conclusion, our results indicate that HzMUC1-ADC is a novel therapeutic drug that can overcome trastuzumab resistance of breast cancer.HzMUC1-ADC should also be an effective therapeutic drug for the treatment of different MUC1-positive cancers in clinic. | Guang Wu Lan Li Yuxin Qiu Wei Sun Tianhao Ren Yingshuai Lv Mengnan Liu Xiaoxia Wang Hongqun Tao Lingjie Zhao Jiawei Cao Licai He Hongzhi Li Haihua Gu | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,12: | 2
Two Arabidopsis Receptor-like Cytoplasmic Kinases SZE1 and SZE2 Associate with the ZAR1-ZED1 Complex and Are Required for Effector-Triggered Immunity显示文摘Plants utilize intracellular nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat domain-containing receptors (NLRs) to recognize pathogen effectors and induce a robust defense response named effector-triggered immunity (ETI). The Arabidopsis NLR protein HOPZ-ACTIVATED RESISTANCE 1 (ZAR1) forms a precomplex with HOPZ-ETI-DEFICIENT 1 (ZED1),a receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase (RLCK) XII-2 subfamily member, to recognize the Pseudomonas syringae effector HopZ1 a. We previously described a dominant mutant of Arabi-dopsis ZED1, zed1-D, which displays temperature-sensitive autoimmunity in a ZAR1-dependent manner. Here, we report that the RLCKs SUPPRESSOR OF ZED1-D1 (SZE1) and SZE2 associate with the ZAR1-ZED1 complex and are required for the ZED7-D-activated autoimmune response and HopZ1a-triggered immunity. We show that SZE1 but not SZE2 has autophosphorylation activity, and that the N-terminal myristoylation of both SZE1 and SZE2 is critical for their plasma membrane localization and ZED1-D-activated autoimmunity. Furthermore, we demonstrate that SZE1 and SZE2 both interact with ZAR1 to form ja functional complex and are required for resistance against P. syringae pv. tomato DC3000 ex-pressing HopZIa. We also provide evidence that SZE1 and SZE2 interact with HopZ1a and function together with ZED1 to change the intramolecular interactions of ZAR1, leading to its activation. Taken together, our re-sults reveal SZE1 and SZE2 as critical signaling components of HopZ1a-triggered immunity. | Cheng Liu Dayong Cui Jingbo Zhao Na Liu Bo Wang Jing Liu Enjun Xu Zhubing Hu Dongtao Ren Dingzhong Tang Yuxin Hu | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,7: | 1
pH- and H_(2)O_(2)-sensitive drug delivery system based on sodium xanthate:Dual-responsive supramolecular vesicles from one functional group显示文摘Nano-drug delivery systems with multiple stimulus-responsive capabilities have superior response performance and efficient drug release.Nevertheless,it is sophisticated to construct multiple stimulus-responsive systems where the two or more functional groups need to be introduced simultaneously.Xanthate, one functional group with pH and H2O2 stimulus responsiveness, has significant potential applications for building dual-responsive drug delivery system.Herein,we present a novel dual stimuli-responsive supramolecular drug delivery system by using sodium xanthate derivative(SXD)as guest molecule and quaternary ammonium capped pillar[5]arene(QAP5)as host molecule through host-guest interaction on the basis of electrostatic interaction. The amphiphile QAP5⊃SXD could self-assemble into vesicles to efficiently load the anti-cancer drug DOX.The experimental results showed that QAP5⊃SXD nanoparticles could achieve efficient drug delivery and controlled release in the tumor microenvironment.Cytotoxicity experiments proved that DOX@QAP5⊃SXD nanoparticles could significantly improve the anticancer efficiency of free DOX on cancer cells. The present study provides an efficient strategy to develop supramolecular nanocarriers with dual-responsiveness in one functional group for controlled drug release. | Ziyan Shen Ning Ma Feng Wang Jiaming Ren Chenxi Hou Shuang Chao Yuxin Pei Zhichao Pei | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,10: | 1

High order sub-cell finite volume schemes for solving hyperbolic conservation laws I: basic formulation and one-dimensional analysis显示文摘In this paper, a family of sub-cell finite volume schemes for solving the hyperbolic conservation laws is proposed and analyzed in one-dimensional cases. The basic idea of this method is to subdivide a control volume(main cell) into several sub-cells and the finite volume discretization is applied to each of the sub-cells. The averaged values on the sub-cells of current and face neighboring main cells are used to reconstruct the polynomial distributions of the dependent variables. This method can achieve arbitrarily high order of accuracy using a compact stencil. It is similar to the spectral volume method incorporating with PNPM technique but with fundamental differences. An elaborate utilization of these differences overcomes some shortcomings of the spectral volume method and results in a family of accurate and robust schemes for solving the hyperbolic conservation laws. In this paper, the basic formulation of the proposed method is presented. The Fourier analysis is performed to study the properties of the one-dimensional schemes. | 17 | Dual-Ion Co-Regulation System Enabling High-Performance Electrochemical Artificial Yarn Muscles with Energy-Free Catch States显示文摘Artificial yarn muscles show great potential in applications requiring low-energy consumption while maintaining high performance. However, conventional designs have been limited by weak ion-yarn muscle interactions and inefficient “rocking-chair” ion migration. To address these limitations, we present an electrochemical artificial yarn muscle design driven by a dual-ion co-regulation system. By utilizing two reaction channels, this system shortens ion migration pathways, leading to faster and more efficient actuation. During the charging/discharging process, PF_6~- ions react with carbon nanotube yarn, while Li~+ ions react with an Al foil. The intercalation reaction between PF_6~- and collapsed carbon nanotubes allows the yarn muscle to achieve an energy-free high-tension catch state. The dual-ion coordinated yarn muscles exhibit superior contractile stroke, maximum contractile rate, and maximum power densities, exceeding those of “rocking-chair” type ion migration yarn muscles. The dual-ion co-regulation system enhances the ion migration rate during actuation, resulting in improved performance. Moreover, the yarn muscles can withstand high levels of isometric stress, displaying a stress of 61 times that of skeletal muscles and 8 times that of “rocking-chair” type yarn muscles at higher frequencies. | 18 | J-comb: An image fusion algorithm to combine observations covering different spatial frequency ranges显示文摘Ground-based, high-resolution bolometric(sub)millimeter continuum mapping observations on spatially extended target sources are often subject to significant missing fluxes. This hampers accurate quantitative analyses. Missing flux can be recovered by fusing high-resolution images with observations that preserve extended structures. However, the commonly adopted image fusion approaches do not maintain the simplicity of the beam response function and do not try to elaborate the details of the yielded beam response functions. These make the comparison of the observations at multiple wavelengths not straightforward. We present a new algorithm, J-comb, which combines the high and low-resolution images linearly. By applying a taper function to the low-pass filtered image and combining it with a high-pass filtered image using proper weights, the beam response functions of our combined images are guaranteed to have near-Gaussian shapes. This makes it easy to convolve the observations at multiple wavelengths to share the same beam response functions. Moreover, we introduce a strategy to tackle the specific problem that the imaging at 850 μm from the present-date ground-based bolometric instrument and that taken with the Planck satellite do not overlap in the Fourier domain. We benchmarked our method against two other widely-used image combination algorithms, CASA-feather and MIRIAD-immerge, with mock observations of star-forming molecular clouds. We demonstrate that the performance of the J-comb algorithm is superior to those of the other two algorithms. We applied the J-comb algorithm to real observational data of the Orion A star-forming region. We successfully produced dust temperature and column density maps with ~10′′angular resolution, unveiling much greater details than the previous results. | 19 | A likely autotetraploidization event shaped the Chinese mahogany(Toona sinensis)genome显示文摘Chinese mahogany(Toona sinensis) is of considerable medical and economic importance, and its genome has been deciphered. However, the process underlying its polyploidy is unclear, and the chromosomal evolutionary trajectory is poorly understood. Here, by reanalysing the T.sinensis genome, we found evidence of a tetraploidization event(T. sinensis special tetraploidization, TST) that occurred approximately 15-17 million years ago(MYA) after the core eudicot-common hexaploidization(ECH or gamma) event. We characterized the synonymous nucleotide substitution rates(Ks values) of collinear genes and found that T. sinensis genes affected by the TST evolve at a slower rate than Acer yangbiense genes. Furthermore, we identified homologous genes related to polyploidization and speciation and constructed multiple alignments with different reference genomes. Notably, the significant balance of gene retention and loss characterized in the two TST-derived subgenomes suggests an autopolyploid nature of the TST. Moreover, we deduced the chromosomal karyotypes of the two subgenomes and identified 7chromosomal fusions that have shaped the T. sinensis genome;more information is available on a newly constructed karyotype platform(http://gffzze84c5b42976d4cd7h96xqxvcoxofk6cpq.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/Toona_sinensis/index.html). The T. sinensis genome preserves the ancestral chromosome structure of dicotyledons well and could serve as a good reference for understanding genomic changes in other Meliaceae and Sapindales plants. In addition, we verified that tandem duplication and the ECH have promoted the expansion of terpene synthase(TPS) genes;conversely, the TST seems to have inhibited expansion of these genes. This present effort has clarified the polyploidy events of the T. sinensis genome, filled gaps in the history of karyotype evolution, and laid a solid foundation for further genomic studies in the Meliaceae research community and beyond. | Jianyu Wang Ziyi Yang Tianyu Lei Yan Zhang Qimeng Xiao Zijian Yu Jiaqi Zhang Sangrong Sun Qiang Xu Shaoqi Shen Zimo Yan Mengnan Fang Yue Ding Zihan Liu Qianwen Zhu Ke Ren Yuxin Pan Haibin Liu Jinpeng Wang | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,2: | 0
