| 2 | Reproductive management through integration of PGD and MPS-based noninvasive prenatal screening/diagnosis for a family with GJB2-associated hearing impairment显示文摘A couple with a proband child of GJB2(encoding the gap junction protein connexin 26)-associated hearing impairment and a previous pregnancy miscarriage sought for a reproductive solution to bear a healthy child. Our study aimed to develop a customized preconception-to-neonate care trajectory to fulfill this clinical demand by integrating preimplantation genetic diagnosis(PGD), noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT), and noninvasive prenatal diagnosis(NIPD) into the strategy. Auditory and genetic diagnosis of the proband child was carried out to identify the disease causative mutations. The couple then received in-vitro-fertilization treatment, and eight embryos were obtained for day 5 biopsy. PGD was performed by short-tandem-repeat linkage analysis and Sanger sequencing of GJB2 gene. Transfer of a GJB2 c.235del C heterozygous embryo resulted in a singleton pregnancy. At the 13 th week of gestation, genomic DNA(g DNA) from the trio family and cell-free DNA(cf DNA) from maternal plasma were obtained for assessment of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2 mutations. NIPT and NIPD showed the absence of chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2-associated disease in the fetus, which was later confirmed by invasive procedures and postnatal genetic/auditory diagnosis. | 3 | Degradation of 4-nitrophenol by electrocatalysis and advanced oxidation processes using Co3O4@C anode coupled with simultaneous CO2 reduction via SnO2/CC cathode显示文摘Herein,we prepa red novel three-dimensional(3D)gear-s haped Co3O4@C(Co3O4 modified by amorphous carbon)and sheet-like SnO2/CC(SnO2 grow on the carbon cloth)as anode and cathode to achieve efficient removal of 4-nitrophenol(4-NP)in the presence of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)and simultaneous electrocatalytic reduction of CO2,respectively.In this process,4-NP was mineralized into CO2 by the Co3O4@C,and the generated CO2 was reduced into HCOOH by the sheet-like SnO2/CC cathode.Compared with the pure Co0.5(Co3O4 was prepared using 0.5 g urea)with PMS(30 mg,0.5 g/L),the degradation efficiency of 4-NP(60 mL,10 mg/L)increased from 74.5%-85.1%in 60 min using the Co0.5 modified by amorphous carbon(Co0.5@C).Furthermore,when the voltage of 1.0 V was added in the anodic system of Co0.5@C with PMS(30 mg,0.5 g/L),the degradation efficiency of 4-NP increased from 85.1%-99.1%when Pt was used as cathode.In the experiments of 4-NP degradation coupled with simultaneous electrocatalytic CO2 reduction,the degradation efficiency of 4-NP was 99.0%in the anodic system of Co0.5@C with addition of PMS(30 mg,0.5 g/L),while the Faraday efficiency(FE)of HCOOH was 24.1%at voltage of-1.3 V using the SnO2/CC as cathode.The results showed that the anode of Co3O4 modified by amorphous carbon can markedly improve the degradation efficiency of 4-NP,while the cathode of SnO2/CC can greatly improve the FE and selectivity of CO2 reduction to HCOOH and the stability of cathode.Finally,the promotion mechanism was proposed to explain the degradation of organic pollutants and reduction of CO2 into HCOOH in the process of electrocatalysis coupled with advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)and simultaneous CO2 reduction. | Meng Zhu Longshuai Zhang Shanshan Liu Dengke Wang Yuancheng Qin Ying Chen Weili Dai Yuehua Wang Qiuju Xing Jianping Zou | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,7: | 7 |

| 5 | Significantly enhanced oxygen reduction activity of Cu/CuN_xC_y co-decorated ketjenblack catalyst for Al–air batteries显示文摘Highly efficient and non-precious catalysts are imperative for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) to replace Pt/C. Anchoring efficient active species to carbon supports is a promising and scalable strategy. Here we synthesize Cu nanoparticles and noncrystalline CuN_xC_y species co-decorated ketjenblack(KB) carbon catalyst(denoted as Cu-N-KB-acid) by a facile and scalable method using copper sulfate, melamine, and KB as raw materials. An initial one-pot hydrothermal treatment is designed before pyrolysis process to achieve the good distribution of Cu and melamine on KB via a possible chelation effect. Owing to the synergistic effect of Cu and CuN_xC_y on KB, this composite catalyst displays excellent ORR catalytic activity in alkaline solution, which is comparable to the commercial 20% Pt/C. | 6 | First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. | 7 | Genome-wide Investigation of micro RNAs and Their Targets in Brassica rapa ssp. pekinensis Root with Plasmodiophora brassicae Infection显示文摘Increasing evidence has revealed that micro RNAs play a pivotal role in the post transcriptional regulation of gene expression in response to pathogens in plants. However, there is little information available about the expression patterns of mi RNAs and their targets in Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa ssp. pekinensis) under Plasmodiophora brassicae stress. In the present study, using deep sequencing and degradome analysis, a genome-wide identification of mi RNAs and their targets during P. brassicae stress was performed. A total of 221 known and 93 potentially novel mi RNAs were successfully identified from two root libraries of one control(635-10CK) and P. brassicae-treated Chinese cabbage samples(635-10T). Of these, 14 known and 10 potentially novel mi RNAs were found to be differentially expressed after P. brassicae treatment. Degradome analysis revealed that the 223 target genes of the 75 mi RNAs could be potentially cleaved. KEGG(Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes)pathway analysis suggested that the putative target genes of the mi RNAs were predominately involved in selenocompound metabolism and plant hormone signal transduction. Then the expression of 12 mi RNAs was validated by quantitative real-time PCR(q RT-PCR). | 10 | miR-7/TGF-β2 axis sustains acidic tumor microenvironment-induced lung cancer metastasis显示文摘Acidosis,regardless of hypoxia involvement,is recognized as a chronic and harsh tumor microenvironment(TME)that educates malignant cells to thrive and metastasize.Although overwhelming evidence supports an acidic environment as a driver or ubiquitous hallmark of cancer progression,the unrevealed core mechanisms underlying the direct effect of acidification on tumorigenesis have hindered the discovery of novel therapeutic targets and clinical therapy.Here,chemical-induced and transgenic mouse models for colon,liver and lung cancer were established,respectively.miR-7 and TGF-β2 expressions were examined in clinical tissues(n=184).RNA-seq,miRNA-seq,proteomics,biosynthesis analyses and functional studies were performed to validate the mechanisms involved in the acidic TME-induced lung cancer metastasis.Our data show that lung cancer is sensitive to the increased acidification of TME,and acidic TME-induced lung cancer metastasis via inhibition of miR-7-5 p.TGF-β2 is a direct target of miR-7-5 p.The reduced expression of miR-7-5 p subsequently increases the expression of TGF-β2 which enhances the metastatic potential of the lung cancer.Indeed,overexpression of miR-7-5 p reduces the acidic p H-enhanced lung cancer metastasis.Furthermore,the human lung tumor samples also show a reduced miR-7-5 p expression but an elevated level of activated TGF-β2;the expressions of both miR-7-5 p and TGF-β2 are correlated with patients’survival.We are the first to identify the role of the miR-7/TGF-β2 axis in acidic p H-enhanced lung cancer metastasis.Our study not only delineates how acidification directly affects tumorigenesis,but also suggests miR-7 is a novel reliable biomarker for acidic TME and a novel therapeutic target for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)treatment.Our study opens an avenue to explore the p H-sensitive subcellular components as novel therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. | Tao Su Suchao Huang Yanmin Zhang Yajuan Guo Shuwei Zhang Jiaji Guan Mingjing Meng Linxin Liu Caiyan Wang Dihua Yu Hiu-Yee Kwan Zhiying Huang Qiuju Huang Elaine Lai-Han Leung Ming Hu Ying Wang Zhongqiu Liu Linlin Lu | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2: | 2 |

| 12 | Acclimatory responses to high-salt stress in Chlamydomonas (Chlorophyta, Chlorophyceae) from Antarctica显示文摘Antarctic ice microalga can survive and thrive in channels or pores containing high salinity in Antarctic ice layer. In this study, it was found that cell membrane permeability of green microalga Chlamydomonas sp. L4 from Antarctic sea ice was high in cells treated with hypersalinity due to the induction of active oxygen and radicals. However, increased super oxide dismutase (SOD) scavenged harmful free radicals effectively to keep cell membrane integrity. Also, the analysis of membrane fatty acids demonstrated the content of saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids increased and polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased under the high-salt treatment for 14 d, which effectively reduced the membrane fluidity and minimized the injury to cell membrane. The morpho- logical changes showed that hypersalinity induced the increase of cell volume and the consumption of starch granules. However, because of the increase in detoxification of vacuoles, electron-dense deposits and SOD activity under high-salt stress, the complete noninterference thylakoids, mitochondria and cell nucleus maintained cellular fundamental metabolism. Global-expression profiling of proteins showed eight protein spots disappeared, 18 protein spots decreased and 18 protein spots were enhanced after the high-salt shock obviously (P <0.05). One new peptide (pI 6.90; MW 51 kDa) was primarily confirmed as the processor of light reaction center protein CP43 in photosystem II, which increased photosynthesis ability of Chlamydomonas sp. | 14 | A pilot survey on indoor radon concentration in Beijing显示文摘Objective:To explore the level of indoor radon concentration especially after recent 3 decades’great economic development in metropolis Beijing,so as to describe the outline of indoor radon level in Beijing.Methods:A one-year integrated measurement on 800 dwellings was carried out from September 2018 to August 2019.Passive integrated radon cup monitor with CR-39 as an alpha-track detector was adopted for the survey.As a pilot study,measurement scheme was designed in detail.For measurement quality control,the background track density of CR-39 was strictly defined and controlled throughout the operation of the survey.Results:The annual geometric and arithmetic mean of radon concentration of the surveyed are(39.3±12.9)and(42.0±13.7)Bq/m^(3),respectively,varying from(12.1±2.5)to(119.0±7.8)Bq/m^(3).Radon concentration of the ground floor dwellings is obviously higher than that of other floors.No difference of radon level is found among the dwellings of other floors.Higher radon concentration in buildings built after 2010 is obtained compared with buildings built in 1980s,1990s,and 2000s.Conclusions:There is no big change of radon concentration level in dwellings in Beijing area observed in general compared with a previous survey performed more than ten years ago.For high-rise buildings,building materials are suggested to be the main source of indoor radon.For higher radon concentration in buildings built in latest ten years,the change on building materials and indoor ventilation rate are thought to be the causes,further study in detail is needed to clarify. | Hao Wang Lei Zhang Peng Gao Qiuju Guo | 2022 | Radiation Medicine and Protection2022,3,1: | 1 |

| 18 | Functional groups to modify g-C3N4 for improved photocatalytic activity of hydrogen evolution from water splitting显示文摘Rational modification by functional groups was regarded as one of efficient methods to improve the photocatalytic performance of graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3 N4).Herein,g-C3 N4 with yellow(Y-GCN)and brown(C-GCN)were prepared by using the fresh urea and the urea kept for five years,respectively,for the first time.Experimental results show that the H2 production rate of the C-GCN is 39.06μmol/h,which is about 5 times of the Y-GCN.Meantime,in terms of apparent quantum efficiency(AQ.E)at 420 nm,C-GCN has a value of 6.3%and nearly 7.3 times higher than that of Y-GCN(0.86%).The results of XRD,IR,DRS,and NMR show,different from Y-GCN,a new kind of functional group of—N=CH—was firstly in-situ introduced into the C-GCN,resulting in good visible light absorption,and then markedly improving the photocatalytic performance.DFT calculation also confirms the effect of the—N=CH—group band structure of g-C3N4.Furthermore,XPS results demonstrate that the existence of—N=CH—groups in C-GCN results in tight interaction between C-GCN and Pt nanoparticles,and then improves the charge separation and photocatalytic performance.The present work demonstrates a good example of'defect engineering'to modify the intrinsic molecular structure of g-C3N4 and provides a new avenue to enhance the photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4 via facile and environmental-friendly method. | Fan Yu Laichun Wang Qiuju Xing Dengke Wang Xunheng Jiang Guangchao Li Anmin Zheng Fanrong Ai Jian-Ping Zou | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,6: | 1 |
