| 1 | Transient elastography compared to liver biopsy and morphometry for predicting fibrosis in pediatric chronic liver disease: Does etiology matter?显示文摘AIM: To evaluate transient elastography(TE) as a noninvasive tool in staging liver fibrosis compared with liver biopsy and morphometry in children with different chronic liver diseases.METHODS: A total of 90 children [50 with chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV), 20 with autoimmune hepatitis(AIH) and 20 with Wilson disease] were included in the study and underwent liver stiffness measurement(LSM) using TE. Liver biopsies were evaluated for fibrosis, qualitatively, by Ishak score and quantitatively by fibrosis area fraction(FAF) using digital image analysis(morphometry). LSM was correlated with fibrosis and other studied variables using spearman correlation. A stepwise multiple regression analysis was alsoperformed to examine independent factors associated with LSM. Different cut-off values of LSM were calculated for predicting individual fibrosis stages using receiveroperating characteristic curve. Cut-off values with optimal clinical performance(optimal sensitivity and specificity simultaneously) were selected.RESULTS: The majority of HCV group had minimal activity(80%) and no/mild fibrosis(72%). On the other hand, the majority of AIH group had mild to moderate activity(70%) and moderate to severe fibrosis(95%) and all Wilson disease group had mild to moderate activity(100%) and moderate to severe fibrosis(100%). LSM correlated significantly with both FAF and Ishak scores and the correlation appeared better with the latter(r = 0.839 vs 0.879, P < 0.0001 for both). LSM discriminated individual stages of fibrosis with high performance. Sensitivity ranged from 81.4% to 100% and specificity ranged from 75.0% to 97.2%. When we compared LSM values for the same stage of fibrosis, they varied according to the different etiologies. Higher values were in AIH(16.15 ± 7.23 k Pa) compared to Wilson disease(8.30 ± 0.84 k Pa) and HCV groups(7.43 ± 1.73 k Pa). Multiple regression analysis revealed that Ishak fibrosis stage was the only independent variable associated with higher LSM(P < 0.0001).CONCLUSION: TE appears reliable in distinguishing different stages of liver fibrosis in children. However, its values vary according to the disease type. | 19 | Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterizations on the Complexation of Three Different Metal Ions Ba(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),and Ce(Ⅲ)with Atenolol Drug Chelate显示文摘Three types of metal ions barium(Ⅱ),nickel(Ⅱ)and cerium(Ⅲ)complexity of ATN drug have been prepared and characterized using molar conductance method,FT-IR,electronic,and 1H-NMR analysis measurements.The chemical and physical results for all atenolol complexes are agreement with the speculated structures.For the divalent(Ba&Ni)and trivalent(Ce)metal atenolol a molar ratio 1∶2 was established.Qualitative chemical analysis showed that for the divalent metal complexes,the chloride ions are not involved in the complexes,suggesting that all of these complexes,[Ba(ATN)2]·2 H2O and[Ni(ATN)2(H2O)2]·4 H2O are neutral.However,for the cerium(Ⅲ)complex,[Ce(ATN)2(NO3)]·3 H2O,the nitrate group is existed inside the coordination sphere.ATN make astable metal complexity with barium(Ⅱ),nickel(Ⅱ)and cerium(Ⅲ)ions.Electronic absorption analysis of Atenolol give two fundamental peaks at 225 nm and 274 nm refers to variation in transition electrons of ligand,UV spectral analysis of the three complexity obtained give asymmetric broad band in the range 200~400 nm,the reults are convenient with the suggestion of metal-nitrogen and metal-oxygen bonds.The infrared analysis data proved that ATN act as bidentate ligand through the N atom of the-NH group and O atom of the deprotonated alcoholic OH group.Nickel(Ⅱ)and cerium(Ⅲ)complexity make six-coordinate geometry,whereas the barium(Ⅱ)complex exhibit four-coordinate geometry.Ni(Ⅱ)-ATN complex has an effective magnetic moment equal 3.12 B.M,that is assigned to octahedral structure.The 1H-NMR spectral results of Ba(Ⅱ)-ATN complexity give strong signal at^4.00 ppm due to protons of-CH2 that influenced by low degree due to complexity.These results confirm the position of chelation through the N atom of the-NH group and O atom of the deprotonated alcoholic OH group. | Samy M El-Megharbel Tariq Altalhi Abdullah Ayad Salem Alruqi Moamen S Refat | 2020 | 光谱学与光谱分析2020，40，6： | 0 |
| 20 | Spatio-temporal variation of cyclone intensity over the coastal region of Bangladesh using 134 years track analysis显示文摘The cyclone tracks from 1877 to 2020 were analyzed to detect the spatial and temporal intensity.The tracks were gathered from previously published works.The previous articles’tracks were digitized and converted to shape files for analysis in Arc-GIS.A total 126 cyclone tracks were used to detect monthly and seasonal cyclone intensity and spatial variations.The fluctuations were examined over a 30-year period,which is believed to be the climate of a particular location.Tropical cyclones hit the Bay of Bengal’s coast starting in May and lasting until December.In May and October,the number of cyclones is at its peak(26 nos in each month).From June through September,the number of cyclones fell.In October and November,the number of cyclones increased dramatically.The number of cyclones substantially fell in December,and no cyclones were observed from January through March.From 1939 through 1969,the highest number of cyclones(36)was recorded.In the mid-and latetwentieth century,there were a higher number of cyclones.The coastal region of Bangladesh suffered the fewest cyclones in history over the recent era(2001–2020).The western shore was particularly vulnerable from 1877 to 1907,and the entire coastal region was dangerous from 1908 to 2000.In the Post-monsoon(October to December)season,the number of cyclones is lower than in the Monsoon period(May to September).In the pre-monsoon season,71 cyclones strike,while in the Monsoon season,53 cyclones strike. | Nm Refat Nasher Kh Razimul Karim Md Yachin Islam | 2022 | Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2022，11，1： | 0 |
