1An Integrated Analysis of Risk Factors of Cognitive Impairment in Patients with Severe Carotid Artery Stenosis显示文摘Objective To investigate cognitive dysfunction in patients with carotid artery stenosis(CAS) and potential risk factors related to cognitive-especially memory-dysfunction. Methods Forty-seven patients with carotid artery stenosis were recruited into our study cohort. The Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA) were adopted to assess cognitive function, the Wechsler Memory Scale(WMS) to assess memory function, high-resolution MRI and enhanced ultrasound to evaluate carotid plaques, and computed tomography perfusion(CTP) imaging to evaluate intracranial blood perfusion. Single-factor analysis and multiple-factor regression analysis were used to analyze potential risk factors of cognitive impairment. Results Mini-Mental State Examination test results showed that 22 patients had cognitive impairment, and MoCA test results showed that 10 patients had cognitive impairment. Analysis of various risk factors indicated that the average memory quotient of female patients was higher than that of males(P = 0.024). The cognitive and memory performance of those with an educational background above high school were significantly better than those of participants with high school or lower(P = 0.045). Patients with abnormal intracranial perfusion performed worse on the MMSE test(P = 0.024), and their WMS scores were significantly lower(P = 0.007). The MMSE scores and the memory quotients were significantly lower in patients with a history of cerebral infarction(MMSE, P = 0.047, memory quotient score, P = 0.018). Conclusion A history of cerebral infarction and abnormal cerebral perfusion are associated with decline in overall cognitive function and memory in patients with carotid stenosis. 4BLT1 in dendritic cells promotes Th1/Th17 differentiation and its deficiency ameliorates TNBS-induced colitis显示文摘Leukotriene B4(LTB4)synthesis is enhanced in the colonic mucosa in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).BLT1,a highaffinity receptor for LTB4,exhibits no effect on the progression of dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis,which mostly relies on innate immunity.Here,we reported that BLT1 regulates trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS)-induced colitis,which reflects CD4+T-cell-dependent adaptive immune mechanisms of IBD.We found that BLT1 signaling enhanced the progression of colitis through controlling the production of proinflammatory cytokines by dendritic cells(DCs)and modulating the differentiation of Th1 and Th17.BLT1−/−mice displayed an alleviated severity of TNBS-induced colitis with reduced body weight loss and infiltrating cells in the lamina propria.BLT1 deficiency in DCs led to reduced production of proinflammatory cytokines,including IL-6,TNF-α,and IL-12,and these results were further confirmed via treatment with a BLT1 antagonist.The impaired cytokine production by BLT1−/−DCs subsequently led to reduced Th1 and Th17 differentiation both in vitro and in vivo.We further performed a conditional DC reconstitution experiment to assess whether BLT1 in DCs plays a major role in regulating the pathogenesis of TNBS-induced colitis,and the results indicate that BLT1 deficiency in DCs also significantly reduces disease severity.The mechanistic study demonstrated that BLT1-regulated proinflammatory cytokine production through the Gαiβγsubunit-phospholipase Cβ(PLCβ)-PKC pathway.Notably,we found that treatment with the BLT1 antagonist also reduced the production of proinflammatory cytokines by human peripheral blood DCs.Our findings reveal the critical role of BLT1 in regulating adaptive immunity and TNBS-induced colitis,which further supports BLT1 as a potential drug target for adaptive immunity-mediated IBD.Jinfeng Zhou Weiming Lai Wanjie Yang Juping Pan Hu Shen Yingying Cai Cuixia Yang Ningjia Ma Yue Zhang Ru Zhang Xin Xie Zhongjun Dong Yuan Gao Changsheng Du 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,12:9
5Characteristics of air particulate matter and their sources in urban and rural area of Beijing, China显示文摘During October 1993 and March 1996, the samples of fine and coarse air particulate matter have been collected at representative urban and rural site of Beijing with the Gent Stacked Filter Unit Sampler. Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and proton induced X ray emission (PIXE) method were used to determine the elemental composition of the particulate matter. Average elemental concentrations and enrichment factors were calculated for the fine and coarse size fractions. Based on the particulate matter data obtained at urban and rural site together with the chemical constituents of the aerosol from the different sources are discussed. The results show that the relative particulate mass and elemental concentrations of crustal and pollutant elements in the air particulate matter collected over the urban are higher than rural and winter heating period are higher than in ordinary season. Beijing atmosphere is polluted by aerosols from regional and faraway sources. It was noticed that the toxic or harmful elements such as As, Sb, Pb, Cu, Ni, S and Zn were mainly enriched in fine particles with diameter less than 2 μm. A receptor model was used to assess the relative contribution of major air pollution sources at receptor sites in Beijing. Trace elements were used as the markers for the above assessment. Factor analysis method was used to identify possible emission sources of air particles. 6Efficacy of integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and anti-retroviral therapy on immunological nonresponse in patients with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome: a Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the efficacy of integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and anti-retroviral therapy(ART),a customized combination of different classes of medications which was also called cock-tail treatment,on the immunological nonresponse(INR)in people living with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)(PLWH).METHODS:Relevant literature in databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database(CNKI),Wanfang Digital Journal,Chinese Medical Journal Database(CMJD),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),Pub Med,Cochrane,and Embase was reviewed by two independent investigators.Data were extracted from the studies according to the eligible criteria and analyzed using Review Manager 5.3.RESULTS:Nine randomized controlled trials(RCTs)with 1078 patients were analyzed.Our analyses showed that CD4 T cell counts in the treatment group improved compared with that in the control group[mean difference(MD)=13.51,95%confidence interval(CI):7.42-19.60,P<0.0001].There was no significant difference between the treated and control groups after 3 months(MD=25.31,95%CI:-2.78 to 53.41,P=0.08).However,after 6 and 12 months,the response of the treatment group was superior to the control group(MD=27.45,95%CI:7.09-47.81,P=0.008 and MD=27.34,95%CI:6.31–48.37,P=0.01,respectively).The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was also higher than that of the control group(RR=1.75,95%CI:1.16-2.65,P=0.007).However,CD45 RO and CD45 RA T cell counts did not differ significantly between the two groups(MD=12.37,95%CI:-6.71 to 31.45,P=0.20 and MD=5.67,95%CI:-3.00 to14.35,P=0.20,respectively).CONCLUSION:The combined treatment strategy of integrated TCM and Western Medicine promotes long-term reconstitution of the immune system and thus,is beneficial and has potential use for improving INR in PLWH.However,large-scale RCTs are required to provide evidence for optimal intervention strategies.TAO Zhuang HUANG Xiaojie LIU Ying WANG Ru DONG Jipeng LIANG Biyan ZOU Wen GAO Guojian WANG Zhuo ZHANG Ke WU Hao ZHANG Tong WANG Jian 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,5:6
7Association between Metabolic Syndrome and Carotid Atherosclerosis: A Cross-sectional Study in Northern China显示文摘Objective Increased carotid artery intima-media thickness(CIMT)and carotid plaque as manifestations of carotid atherosclerosis have been used as markers of cardiovascular disease(CVD).The components of metabolic syndrome(Met S)are linked to CVD,but the association between Met S and CVD is controversial.Methods A total of 8,933 Chinese adults aged 40 years or older from 2010 to 2014 were selected from the Jidong and Kailuan communities.Met S was defined by the International Diabetes Federation criteria.CIMT and carotid plaque were measured using color Doppler ultrasound.Logistic regression models were used to assess the association of Met S with carotid plaque and CIMT.Results Met S was found among 3,461(3,461/8,933)participants.The odds ratio and 95%confidence internal(CI)for carotid plaques in participants with Met S was 1.16(1.03-1.30).The risk of carotid plaques increased with the number of Met S components.The average CIMT was higher in participants with Met S(β=0.020,95%CI,0.014-0.027)and in participants with more Met S components.Conclusion Individuals with Met S are at an increased risk for carotid atherosclerosis compared to those without MetS.ZHOU Ping An ZHANG Chen Huan CHEN Yan Ru LI Dong SONG Dai Yu LIU Hua Min ZHOU Ming Yue SONG Guo Shun CHEN Sheng Yun 2019Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,12:6

9Optimal Waist Circumference Cut-off values for Identifying Metabolic Risk Factors in Middle-aged and Elderly Subjects in Shandong Province of China显示文摘Objective To study the optimal waist circumference(WC) cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome(MetS) was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher Youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. 10Association between Phthalate Exposure and the Use of Plastic Containers in Shanghai Adults显示文摘Objective Consuming phthalates may be due to the presence of food contact materials,such as plastic containers.In this study,we investigated the association between plastic container use and phthalate exposure in 2,140 Shanghai adults.Methods Participants completed a questionnaire on the frequency of using plastic containers in different scenarios in the previous year(e.g.,daily,weekly) and on the consumption of plastic-packaged foods in the previous three days(yes or no).Urinary phthalate metabolites were used to assess the association between phthalate exposure and the use of plastic containers.Results The metabolites of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate(DEHP) were the most frequently detected in urine.The results revealed that phthalate exposure was associated with consumption of plastic-packaged breakfast or processed food items in the previous three days.The consumption of these two food items had strong synergistic effects on increasing urinary concentrations of most phthalate metabolites.Conclusion Our results of plastic-packaged breakfast and processed food may be explained by the use of flexible plastic containers,indicating the importance of risk assessment for the application of flexible plastic containers.DONG Rui Hua ZHANG Han ZHANG Mei Ru CHEN Jing Si WU Min LI Shu Guang CHEN Bo 2017Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,10:2
11附睾特异性表达羧基酯酶CES5A在精子获能和雄性生殖中的功能研究显示文摘在本文中,我们用慢病毒介导的RNA干扰技术研究了附睾特异性表达基因Ces5a在精子成熟和功能中所起的作用。Ces5a是最近克隆到的一个附睾特异性表达的羧基酯酶(CEs)家族的新基因。目前己经在人、小鼠及猫等物种中发现了Ces5a的同源基因。CES5A蛋白主要在附睾的体部和尾部特异性表达。我们实验室前期工作表明,重组CES5A蛋白具有羧基酯酶和胆固醇酯酶活力;同时,CES5A蛋白能够分泌到附睾管腔中,但并不结合到精子上。我们实验室最近的研究表明,大鼠附睾特异性表达的非编码RNAHongrES2的过表达能够降低附睾CES5A蛋白水平,而且能够抑制精子获能相关的酪氨酸磷酸化;由于非编码RNA的靶基因很多,所以并不清楚CES5A是否直接与精子的获能有关。因此,我们推测,CES5A蛋白主要是通过其羧基酯酶和/或胆固醇酯酶活性影响附睾管腔液的环境,从而为精子正常功能的获得和维持提供保障。我们的结果表明,当附睾体内CES5A蛋白被下调30%.40%之后,附睾尾部精子运动百分数没有明显变化,直线运动速率和曲线运动速率显著增加。但是,CES5A表达下调后精子获能受到明显抑制;进一步研究发现,CES5A表达下调后精子的体外受精率明显降低,并且雄鼠的生育能力也显著下降。这些结果提示,大鼠CES5A蛋白对于精子的成熟和雄性生殖有着至关重要的作用。Yan-Fei Ru Hai-Min Xue Zi-Mei Ni Dong Xia Yu-Chuan Zhou Yong-Lian Zhang 2015Asian Journal of Andrology2015,17,2:2

16Effect of temperature on formation and evolution of solid electrolyte in terphase on Si@Graphite@C anodes显示文摘Studies on the formati on and evolutio n of the solid electrolyte in terface(SEI)film under different ambient temperatures are important to understand the failure behavior of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).Herein,in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)test is performed on the whole discharge process of Si@Graphite@C/Li cell at 0,25 and 55℃,respectively.Combining with scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterizations,it is found that the SEI film undergoes a complicated evolution process of pre-formation,self-improvement and gradual decay in succession at 25℃.Besides,due to the dissolution of organo-alkyl lithium at high temperature,the formed film is mainly composed of LiF,Li_(2)CO_(3) and other in organic salts,which helps to decrease the impedance.However,the electrolyte is consumed continuously on the new exposed in terface,leading to the degraded performance of the cell.Moreover,the dyn amic properties of Li^(+) ions are poor at low temperature,though the migration ability of Li^(+) ions in the solid phase can be improved as the cycle goes on.Therefore,the development and application of in-situ EIS tech no logy are expected to become an important means to explain the electrochemical performance of batteries.Hong Dong Jie Wang Peng Wang Hao Ding Ru Song Ning-Shuang Zhang Dong-Ni Zhao Li-Juan Zhang Shi-You Li 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,1:1
