1Rapid report of the 8 January 2022 M_(S)6.9 Menyuan earthquake,Qinghai,China显示文摘The M_(S)6.9 Menyuan earthquake in Qinghai Province,west China is the largest earthquake by far in 2022.The earthquake occurs in a tectonically active region,with a background b-value of 0.87 within 100 km of the epicenter that we derived from the unified catalog produced by China Earthquake Networks Center since late 2008.Field surveys have revealed surface ruptures extending 22 km along strike,with a maximum ground displacement of 2.1 m.We construct a finite fault model with constraints from In SAR observations,which showed multiple fault segments during the Menyuan earthquake.The major slip asperity is confined within 10 km at depth,with the maximum slip of 3.5 m.Near real-time back-projection results of coseismic radiation indicate a northwest propagating rupture that lasted for~10 s.Intensity estimates from the back-projection results show up to a Mercalli scale of IX near the ruptured area,consistent with instrumental measurements and the observations from the field surveys.Aftershock locations(up to January 21,2022)exhibit two segments,extending to~20 km in depth.The largest one reaches M_(S)5.3,locating near the eastern end of the aftershock zone.Although the location and the approximate magnitude of the mainshock had been indicated by previous studies based on paleoearthquake records and seismic gap,as well as estimated stressing rate on faults,significant surfacebreaching rupture leads to severe damage of the high-speed railway system,which poses a challenge in accurately assessing earthquake hazards and risks,and thus demands further investigations of the rupture behaviors for crustal earthquakes.Hongfeng Yang Dun Wang Rumeng Guo Mengyu Xie Yang Zang Yue Wang Qiang Yao Chuang Cheng Yanru An Yingying Zhang 2022Earthquake Research Advances2022,2,1:14
2Stochastically driven vibrations of single-layered graphene sheets显示文摘Thermal vibration of single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) is investigated using plate model together with the law of equi-partition of energy and the molecular dynamics (MD) method based on the condensed-phase Optimized Molecular Potentials for Atomistic Simulation Studies (COMPASS) force field.The in-plane stiffness and Poisson ratio of SLGSs are calculated by stretching SLGSs.The effective thickness of SLGSs is obtained by the MD simulations for the thermal vibration of SLGSs through the natural frequency.The root-mean-squared (RMS) amplitudes for SLGSs of differing temperatures and boundary conditions are calculated by the MD,and are compared with the results calculated by the thin plate model together with the law of equi-partition of energy.At the center of SLGSs,the thin plate theory can predict the MD results reasonably well.For the difference of bonding structure of the edge atoms,the deviation between the MD results and plate theory becomes more readily apparent near the edges of SLGSs.LIU RuMeng WANG LiFeng 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,6:5
3Regulation of OsPRIOa Promoter Activity by Phytohormone and Pathogen Stimulation in Rice显示文摘OsPRIOa is one of the well known pathogenesis-related genes in rice,and is induced by multiple plant hormones and pathogens.However,the underlying transcriptional regulation mechanisms in response to differe nt signals and their crosstalks are still largely unknown.In order to find new players participated in the activation of OsPRIOa,we systematically analyzed the basal expression patterns as well as the expression responses of a 2.5 kb OsPRIOa promoter in rice transgenic plants after phytohormone and pathogen stimulations.In agreement with the native gene expression,the OsPRIOa promoter can drive glucuronidase(GUS)gene expressing in spots of leaf cells,leaf trichomes,lemmas and paleae,germinating embryos,calli and root tips.The leaf expression of OsPR10a::GUS was dramatically in creased upon jasm onic acid(JA)and cytoki nin(CK)treatme nts,or challe nges of the pathogen Magnaporthe grisea and Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae.Thus,the OsPRIOa promoter reported here can faithfully reflect its native gene expression.The effects of several JA and CK responsive OsWRKY genes on the regulation of OsPRIOa promoter were then inspected by luciferase transient expression assay,and the JA inducible OsWRKYlO transcription factor was found as a new positive regulator of OsPRIOa.However,the key transcription factors of JA and CK signaling pathways,OsMYC2 and B-type response regulators,were not responsible for the activation of OsPRIOa promote Our findings provided new in sights into the regulation of OsPRIOa expression during plan t-hormone/pathoge n interactions,and the OsPRIOa reporter system can be useful to unravel novel regulators from both pathogen and host.Zheng Ersong Wang Xuming Xu Rumeng Yu Feibo Zheng Chao Yang Yong Chen Yang Chen Jianping Yan Chengqi Zhou Jie 2021Rice science2021,28,5:1
4Correlation between heart rate variability and pupillary reflex in healthy adult subjects under the influence of alcohol显示文摘This study explored the association between pupil area variation, heart rate variability, and fatigue, caused by alcohol consumption. Sixteen healthy young male volunteers were enrolled in this study for a series of structured physical examinations. Individual drinking volume was strictly assessed in accordance with the normalized experimental design. The motions of the subjects' pupils, as well as electrocardiograms were recorded by a computerized recording system, both before and after drinking alcohol. After alcohol intake, the pupil diameter, and both low frequency and standard deviation of all heartbeat interval indices of heart rate variability showed significant variations compared with the baseline. In addition, time- and frequency-domain indices of heart rate variability were negatively associated with pupil area. 5Acupuncture versus Western Medicine Drugs (Antidepressant) to Treat Depression显示文摘The aim of the study is to assess the beneficial effects of acupuncture compared with Western medicine in treating patientswith depression.Depression is a serious psychiatric illness that involves symptoms such as depressed or sad mood,loss ofinterest or pleasure in activities,changes in weight,difficult sleep or oversleeping,energy loss,feelings of worthlessness,psychomotorchanges,and thoughts of death or suicide.Acupuncture and Western medicine have been widely used to treat the patient with depression.The following electronic databases were searched:The Cochrane Central Register for Controlled Trials(Central),MEDLINE,EMBASE,AMED,PsycINFO,and PUBMED.The summary of this report was evaluated by using the Preferred Reporting Itemsfor Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Checklist.Sixty-four journals on acupuncture,Western medicine drugs(antidepressant),and containing both in treating depression were identified and included in this review.In term of Western medicine,antidepressant may helpthe ego function in short term,and for long-term using,it may cause the patient to become addictive toward the drug.Acupuncture is relativelysafe to use and proven significantly effective to treat the depression and less side effect for long term used by the patient.Currentevidence from this summary literature review shows that acupuncture and Western medicine(antidepressant)drugs can treat depression.However,acupuncture therapies almost give none of side effect compared to antidepressant,and every patient with depression can try acupuncture notexcluding the pregnant woman.Anggaraeni Krta Zhihai Hu Yi Wang Wen Wang Rumeng Wang Aijia Zhang 2019Chinese Medicine and Culture2019,2,3:0
6Development of high strength ferrite-martensite stainless steels ( FMSSs) for railway cargo transportation显示文摘Two ferrite-martensite stainless steels(FMSSs)were developed by Baosteel based on the T4003 composition,through optimizing the manganese and nickel contents,reducing silicon,carbon and nitrogen contents,controlling remnant niobium and molybdenum,adding sufficient titanium and controlling the processing.In this study,the physical metallurgy of such FMSSs was investigated with the emphasis on the alloying effect on the phase balance during processing and the transformation behavior during welding for different microstructures.In addition,the mechanical behavior and the weldability were investigated.The results indicate that such steels have a good combination of strength and toughness and better weldability compared with the traditional 1.4003 steel.Such high strength steels are highly suitable for railway cargo transportation where the wall thickness of the wagons can be reduced,resulting in weight savings.WANG Rumeng YE Xiaoning JIANG Laizhu 2013Baosteel Technical Research2013,7,3:0
7Statistical characteristics and mechanism analysis of adhered particle on surface under strong electric field显示文摘Insulators on high-voltage Uansmission lines are almost the only man-made structures on the Earth's surface intended for long-term operation under strong electric fields. After samples of natural contaminant particles were collected from insulator surfaces in China, it was found that the particle diameter distribution (PDD) was mainly concentrated in the 5-50 μm range. To analyze the statistical characteristics of these particles, this work studies the physical processes of particle collision and adhesion using the theories of hydrodynamics and collision dynamics. The physical model considers coupling of the fluid field and the electric field, introduces an adhesion criterion, and establishes a particle and surface collision model. The effects of relative humidity, wind speed, aerodynamic shape, electric field type, and electric field strength on particle adhesion were analyzed. The results show that the relative humidity and wind speed have very significant effects and the influences of the electric field type and the electric field strength are obvious, but the in fluence of the aerodynamic shape is relatively weak. The simulation results support the statistical characteristics determined in this work.
