1Electromechanical Fields Near a Circular PN Junction Between Two Piezoelectric Semiconductors显示文摘We study electromechanical fields near the interface between a circular piezoelectric semiconductor cylinder and another piezoelectric semiconductor in which it is embedded.The cylinder is p-doped. The surrounding material is n-doped. The phenomenological theory of piezoelectric semiconductors consisting of the equations of piezoelectricity and the conservation of charge for holes and electrons is used. The theory is linearized for small carrier concentration perturbations. An analytical solution is obtained, showing the formation of a PN junction near the interface. Various electromechanical fields associated with the junction are calculated. 8Effects of Geldanamycin on Expression of Bcl-2 in Human Cervical Cancer HeLa Cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE Geldanamycin,a natural product of Streptomyces geldanus,binds the heat shock protein 90(Hsp90),a cell chaperone protein that interacts with Bcl-2.In this study,we investigated whether geldanamycin(GA)inhibits proliferation of HeLa cells through induction of apoptosis by decreasing the level of Bcl-2 expression. METHODS HeLa cells,a human cervical cell line,were cultured in vitro and treated with different concentrations of GA(0,0.02,0.2, 2,10μmol/L)for 24 h.or were treated for different lengths of time at a GA concentration of 10μmol/L.Proliferation of the cells was analyzed by an MTT assay,and cell apoptosis was determined by staining the cells with annexin V.In addition,cellular mRNA levels for Bcl-2 and Hsp90 were determined by the semiquantitative polymerase chain reaction(PCR),and the levels of Bcl-2 and Hsp90 protein expression were determined by Western blots. RESULTS Treatment of cells with GA was found to inhibit HeLa cell proliferation in a concentration and time-dependent manner.The inhibition was a result of increased cellular apoptotic levels.Further analyses showed that while the mRNA and protein expression levels of Hsp90 were not affected,GA treatment significantly reduced the level of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein expression in a concentration-dependent manner that correlated with the observed inhibition of cell proliferation. 9Analysis of piezoelectric semiconductor fibers under gradient temperature changes显示文摘Piezoelectric semiconductors(PSs)possess both semiconducting properties and piezoelectric coupling effects,making them optimal building blocks for semiconductor devices.PS fiber-like structures have wide applications in multi-functional semiconductor devices.In this paper,a one-dimensional(1D)theoretical model is established to describe the piezotronic responses of a PS fiber under gradient temperature changes.The theoretical model aims to explain the mechanism behind the resistance change caused by such gradient temperature changes.Numerical results demonstrate that a gradient temperature change significantly affects the physical fields within the PS fiber,and can induce changes in its surface resistance.It provides important theoretical guidance on the development of piezotronic devices that are sensitive to temperature effects.Shuangpeng LI Ruoran CHENG Nannan MA Chunli ZHANG 2024Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2024,45,2:0
10Investigates of substrate mingling ratio and organic loading rate of KOH pretreated corn stover and pig manure in batch and semi-continuous system:Anaerobic digestion performance and microbial characteristics显示文摘The effects of substrate mingling ratio(SMR)(1:1,1:2,1:3,3:1,and 2:1)and organic loading rate(OLR)(50-90 g total solids per liter per day)on anaerobic co-digestion performance and microbial characteristics were investigated for pig manure(PM)and pretreated/untreated corn stover in batch and semicontinuous anaerobic digestion(AD)system.The results showed that SMR and pretreatment affected co-digestion performance.The maximum cumulative methane yield of 428.5 ml·g^(-1)(based on volatile solids(VS))was obtained for PCP13,which was 35.7%and 40.0%higher than that of CSU and PM.In the first 5 days,the maximum methane yield improvement rate was 378.1%for PCP13.The daily methane yield per gram VS of PCP13 was 11.4%-18.5%higher than that of PC_(U)13.Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1,DMER64,and Bacteroides and Methanosaeta,Methanobacterium,and Methanospirillum had higher relative abundance at the genus level.Therefore,SMR and OLR are important factor affecting the AD process,and OLR can affect methane production through volatile fatty acids.Chenyang Zhu Ruoran Qu Xiujin Li Xiaoyu Zuo Hairong Yuan 2023Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2023,62,10:0
11Two-stage robust power cost minimization in a natural gas compressor station显示文摘Optimal operation of a compressor station is important since it accounts for 25%to 50%of a company’s total operating budget.In short-term management of a compressor station,handling demand uncertainty is important yet challenging.Previous studies either require precise information about the distribution of uncertain parameters or greatly simplify the compressor model.We build a two-stage robust optimization framework of power cost minimization in a natural gas compressor station with nonidentical compressors.In the first stage,decision variables are the ON/OFF state of each compressor and discharge pressure.The worst-case cost of the second stage is incorporated in the first stage.Firststage decision variables feasibility is discussed and proper feasibility cuts are also proposed for the first stage.We employ a piece-wise approximation and propose accelerate methods.Our numerical results highlight two advantages of robust approach when managing uncertainty in practical settings:(1)the feasibility of first-stage decision can be increased by up to 45%,and(2)the worst-case cost can be reduced by up to 25%compared with stochastic programming models.Furthermore,our numerical experiments show that the designed accelerate algorithm has time improvements of 1518.9%on average(3785.9%at maximum).Yize Meng Ruoran Chen Keren Zhang Tianhu Deng 2022Petroleum Science2022,19,1:0
12Ultracompact silicon on-chip polarization controller显示文摘On-chip polarization controllers are extremely important for various optical systems.In this paper,a compact and robust silicon-based on-chip polarization controller is proposed and demonstrated by integrating a special polarization converter and phase shifters.The special polarization converter consists of a 1×1 Mach–Zehnder interferometer with two polarization-dependent mode converters at the input/output ends.When light with an arbitrary state of polarization(SOP)is launched into the chip,the TE_(0)and TM_(0)modes are simultaneously excited.The polarization extinction ratio(PER)and the phase difference for the TE_(0)∕TM_(0)modes are tuned by controlling the first phase shifter,the polarization converter,and the second phase shifter.As a result,one can reconstruct the light SOP at the output port.The fabricated polarization controller,as compact as~150μm×700μm,exhibits an excess loss of less than 1 dB and a record PER range of>54 dB for arbitrary input light beams in the wavelength range of 1530–1620 nm.WEIKE ZHAO YINGYING PENG MINGYU ZHU RUORAN LIU XIAOLONG HU YAOCHENG SHI DAOXIN DAI 2024Photonics Research2024,12,2:0
