1Influences of Sense of Place on Farming Households' Relocation Willingness in Areas Threatened by Geological Disasters:Evidence from China显示文摘Scholars from environmental psychology,geography, disaster science, and sociology have recently focused attention on evacuation and relocation behaviors and influencing factors in hazard-threatened areas. However, existing studies are mainly focused on developed countries and the influence of individual characteristics,household characteristics, and the perception of risk of urban households on evacuation and relocation behaviors.Few studies examine developing countries and the influence of farmers' sense of place in geological hazardthreatened areas. Using statistics of farming households in an area threatened by landslides, this is a pilot study to explore the relationship of sense of place to the relocation willingness of farming households while controlling for other variables. The results show that:(1) Households with higher scores of place identity and place dependence are less willing to relocate, whereas place attachment has no significant relationship to household relocation willingness;(2) Risk perception dimensions, including probability,threat, and controllability have a significant relationship to household relocation willingness, while worry and fear of the unknown have no significant relationship;(3) Household characteristics, including income, whether a household has experienced economic loss from landslides, and social support are significantly correlated with household relocation willingness, while gender, age, experience, distance to hazard sites, size of household, children, older people, and housing material are not. The results for information and education are not robust. 2Toxic Plant Resources in Panxi Area显示文摘Panxi Area is abundant in plant resources,among which toxic plants are of great value in terms of exploitation. This paper is an initiative study(via field as well as literature investigation) of the categories,distributions,and reserves of toxic plant resources in Panxi Area. The study reveals that there are 51 families(210 spe-cies) of toxic plants evenly distributed in Panxi Area,of which more than 40 species grow in all counties in the area,and more than 14 species total a reserve more than 1.0×105 kg. These toxic plants are of great applications to medicine,gardening,biopesticide industry,environmental engineering,and oil manufacturing. 6Immunotherapy of rat glioma without accumulation of CD4^+CD25^+FOXP3^+ regulatory T cells显示文摘Immunotherapy may be used for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme;however,the induced immune response is inadequate when either T cells or dendritic cells are used alone.In this study,we established a novel vaccine procedure in rats,using dendritic cells pulsed with C6 tumor cell lysates in combination with adoptive transfer of T lymphocytes from syngenic donors.On day 21 after tumor inoculation,all the rats were sacrificed,the brains were harvested for calculation of glioma volume,cytolytic T lymphocyte responses were measured by cytotoxic assay,and the frequency of regulatory T lymphocytes(CD4+CD25+FOXP3+) in the peripheral blood was investigated by flow cytometric analysis.The survival rate of rats bearing C6 glioma was observed.Results showed that the co-immunization strategy had significant anti-tumor potential against the pre-established C6 glioma,and induced a strong cytolytic T lymphocyte response in rats.The frequency of peripheral blood CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ regulatory T lymphocytes was significantly decreased following the combination therapy,and the rats survived for a longer period.Experimental findings indicate that the combined immunotherapy of glioma cell lysate-pulsed dendritic cell vaccination following adoptive transfer of T cells can effectively inhibit the growth of gliomas in rats,boost anti-tumor immunity and produce a sustained immune response while avoiding the accumulation of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ regulatory T lymphocytes.Enshan Feng Haili Gao Wei Su Chunjiang Yu 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,19:0
7Effects of Different Organic Residues on Rice Yield and Soil Quality显示文摘Calcaric regosols are a valuable land resource, distributed widely across western China. Soil quality has deteriorated considerably in recent years owing to the blind pursuit of economic benefits. A 2-year field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of using spent mushroom compost, leguminous plant (Vicia sepium L.) compost, and a combination of the two (at a 1:1 and 2:1 ratio), on rice yield and soil quality in a suburb of China. Vicia sepium L. composted with spent mushroom compost at a 1:1 ratio produced the highest grain and stover yield, grain and stover phosphorus concentration, and phosphorus uptake of rice; they were 56.5%, 93.2%, 89.3%, 198.6% and 22.2% greater than control soil, respectively. The 2:1 ratio (Vicia sepium L.: spent mushroom compost) produced the highest grain N concentration, stover N concentration, and N uptake; they were 31.6%, 31.4%, and 40.7% higher than control, respectively. Soil physical, chemical, and environmental properties were improved with the application of Vicia sepium L. composted with spent mushroom compost at a 2:1 ratio. In particular, soil water-stable aggregates, organic carbon, particulate organic carbon, total nitrogen, available potassium, and cation exchange capacity increased, whereas bulk density, pH, and phytoavailable heavy metals decreased. 9Predicting the excretion of feces,urine and nitrogen using support vector regression:A case study with Holstein dry cows显示文摘Predicting the excretion of feces,urine and nitrogen(N)from dairy cows is an effective way to prevent and control the environmental pollution caused by scaled farming.The traditional prediction methods such as pollutant generation coefficient(PGC)and mathematical model based on linear regression(LR)may be limited by prediction range and regression function assumption,and sometimes may deviate from the actual condition.In order to solve these problems,the support vector regression(SVR)was applied for predicting the cows'feces,urine and N excretions,taking Holstein dry cows as a case study.SVR is a typical non-parametric machine learning model that does not require any specific assumptions about the regression function in advance and only by learning the training sample data,and also it can fit the function closest to the actual in most cases.To evaluate prediction accuracy effectively,the SVR technique was compared with the LR and radial basis function artificial neural network(RBF-ANN)methods,using the required sample data obtained from actual feeding experiments.The prediction results indicate that the proposed technique is superior to the other two conventional(especially LR)methods in predicting the main indicators of feces,urine,and N excretions of Holstein dry cows.Qiang Fu Weizheng Shen Xiaoli Wei Yanling Yin Ping Zheng Yonggen Zhang Zhongbin Su Chunjiang Zhao 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,2:0

11Jiuzhaigou Ecotourism Areal System:Temporal Evolution of Entropic Change显示文摘The temporal evolution of entropy of Jiuzhaigou ecot-ourism areal system has been quantitatively analyzed by using equation of system entropy V = k ln M-k ln C.The computed entropy for Jiuzhaigou ecotourism areal system for 20 years indicates a negative value during 1986-1996, which implies that the system had remained a healthy state during this period. The system entropy value, however, showed a constant increase since 1996 until it turned to be positive in 2000 when the system became cha-otic. After 2000 the entropy value declined until 2003 when it escalated once again. By analyzing the causes and process of en-tropy change of the system, it is argued that fluctuation of entropy value is due to the overloading of tourist service capacity by tourism activities.
