| 1 | A new approach for visual identification of orange varieties using neural networks and metaheuristic algorithms显示文摘Accurate classification of fruit varieties in processing factories and during post-harvesting applications is a challenge that has been widely studied.This paper presents a novel approach to automatic fruit identification applied to three common varieties of oranges(Citrus sinensis L.),namely Bam,Payvandi and Thomson.A total of 300 color images were used for the experiments,100 samples for each orange variety,which are publicly available.After segmentation,263 parameters,including texture,color and shape features,were extracted from each sample using image processing.Among them,the 6 most effective features were automatically selected by using a hybrid approach consisting of an artificial neural network and particle swarm optimization algorithm(ANN-PSO).Then,three different classifiers were applied and compared:hybrid artificial neural network–artificial bee colony(ANN-ABC);hybrid artificial neural network–harmony search(ANN-HS);and k-nearest neighbors(kNN).The experimental results show that the hybrid approaches outperform the results of kNN.The average correct classification rate of ANN-HS was 94.28%,while ANN-ABS achieved 96.70%accuracy with the available data,contrasting with the 70.9%baseline accuracy of kNN.Thus,this new proposed methodology provides a fast and accurate way to classify multiple fruits varieties,which can be easily implemented in processing factories.The main contribution of this work is that the method can be directly adapted to other use cases,since the selection of the optimal features and the configuration of the neural network are performed automatically using metaheuristic algorithms. | Sajad Sabzi Yousef Abbaspour-Gilandeh Ginés García-Mateos | 2018 | Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,1: | 8 |
| 2 | Crystalline texture evolution, control of the tribocorrosion behavior, and significant enhancement of the abrasion properties of a Ni-P nanocomposite coating enhanced by zirconia nanoparticles显示文摘This paper describes an investigation of the effect of ZrO2 nanoparticles on the abrasive properties,crystalline texture developments,and tribocorrosion behavior of Ni-P nanostructured coatings.In the investigation,Ni-P and Ni-P-ZrO2 nanostructured coatings are deposited on St52 steel via the electroless method.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),cyclic-static polarization tests in 3.5wt%NaCl solution,the tribocorrosion test(by back-and-forth wear in electrochemical cell),and the microhardness test using the Vickers method were performed to characterize and analyze the deposited coatings.The results of this study showed that the addition of ZrO2 nanoparticles to the Ni-P electroless bath produced the following:a sharp increase in wear and hardness resistance,the change of the wear mechanism from sheet to adhesive mode,the reduction of pitting corrosion resistance,significant reduction in the tribocorrosion protective properties,change in the preferred orientation of the crystalline texture coating from(111)to(200),increase in the sedimentation rate during the deposit process,and a sharp increase in the thickness of the Ni-P nanostructured coatings. | Masoud Sabzi Saeid Mersagh Dezfuli Zohre Balak | 2019 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2019,26,8: | 7 |
| 3 | Effect of melting temperature on microstructural evolutions, behavior and corrosion morphology of Hadfield austenitic manganese steel in the casting process显示文摘In this study, the effect of melting temperature on the microstructural evolutions, behavior, and corrosion morphology of Hadfield steel in the casting process is investigated. The mold was prepared by the sodium silicate/CO_2 method, using a blind riser, and then the desired molten steel was obtained using a coreless induction furnace. The casting was performed at melting temperatures of 1350, 1400, 1450, and 1500°C, and the cast blocks were immediately quenched in water. Optical microscopy was used to analyze the microstructure, and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffractrometry(XRD) were used to analyze the corrosion morphology and phase formation in the microstructure, respectively. The corrosion behavior of the samples was analyzed using a potentiodynamic polarization test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) in 3.5 wt% NaCl. The optical microscopy observations and XRD patterns show that the increase in melting temperature led to a decrease of carbides and an increase in the austenite grain size in the Hadfield steel microstructure. The corrosion tests results show that with increasing melting temperature in the casting process, Hadfield steel shows a higher corrosion resistance. | 4 | Machine vision based expert system to estimate orange mass of three varieties显示文摘A key issue in fruit export is classification and sorting for acceptable marketing.In the present work,the image processing technique was employed to grade three varieties of oranges(Bam,Khooni and Thompson)separately.The reason for choosing this fruit as the object of the study was its abundant consumption worldwide.In this study,14 parameters were extracted:area,eccentricity,perimeter,length/area,blue value,green value,red value,width,contrast,texture,width/area,width/length,roughness,and length.Further,the ANFIS(Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System)method was utilized to estimate the orange mass from the data obtained using the image processing in three varieties.In ANFIS model,samples were divided into two sets,one with 70%for training set and the other one with 30%for testing set.The results of the present study demonstrated that the coefficient of determination(R2)of the best model for Bam,Khooni and Thompson measured 0.948,0.99,and 0.98,respectively.In addition,the results indicated that the estimation accuracy of the best model for Bam,Khooni and Thompson was measured as±3.7 g,±1.28 g,±3.2 g,respectively.This result was very satisfactory for the application of ANFIS to estimate the orange mass. | Hossein Javadikia Sajad Sabzi Hekmat Rabbani | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,2: | 2 |
