| 7 | COVIDX: Computer-aided diagnosis of COVID-19 and its severity prediction with raw digital chest X-ray scans显示文摘Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a contagious infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV-2) and it has infected and killed millions of people across the globe.Objective: In the absence or inadequate provision of therapeutic treatments of COVID-19 and the limited convenience of diagnostic techniques, there is a necessity for some alternate spontaneous screening systems that can easily be used by the physicians to rapidly recognize and isolate the infected patients to circumvent onward surge. A chest X-ray (CXR) image can effortlessly be used as a substitute modality to diagnose the COVID-19.Method: In this study, we present an automatic COVID-19 diagnostic and severity prediction system (COVIDX) that uses deep feature maps of CXR images along with classical machine learning algorithms to identify COVID-19 and forecast its severity. The proposed system uses a three-phase classification approach (healthy vs unhealthy, COVID-19 vs pneumonia, and COVID-19 severity) using different conventional supervised classification algorithms.Results: We evaluated COVIDX through 10-fold cross-validation, by using an external validation dataset, and also in a real setting by involving an experienced radiologist. | 8 | Deciphering the role of rGO in tuning dielectric properties of Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO/rGO nanocomposites synthesized via facile approach显示文摘The present research investigated the effect of reduced graphene oxide(rGO) integration with assynthesized Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO nanocomposites on dielectric properties. The samples were characterized by Xray diffraction(XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS), and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS). Complex impedance spectroscopy was utilized to characterize dielectric relaxation phenomena in Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO and Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO/rGO nanocomposites. All the samples exhibit single relaxation phenomena which are ascribed to grain boundaries. The addition of rGO to Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO nanocomposite results in the enhancement of dielectric response due to increased local field intensity caused by the formation of conductinginsulating interfaces. Furthermore, the AC conductivity of the Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO/rGO is increased at higher frequencies due to the presence of free charge carriers in rGO. At higher frequencies, Er_(2)O_(3)/ZnO/rGO nanocomposite with increased concentration of ZnO exhibits a more stable dielectric constant with extremely low dielectric loss. | 10 | Pharmacognostic studies of stem,roots and leaves of Malva parviflora L.显示文摘Objective:To establish quality control parameters of a locally occurring medicinal plant,Malva parviflora which is utilized as folk medicine in Sialkot area in Pakistan.Methods:In pharmacognostic studies different types of evaluations were carried out that focus on microscopic,macroscopic,fluorescence analysis and organoleptic evaluations.Results:The distinguishing characters of stem were the presence of parenchyma,cork cells,irregular shape calcium oxalate crystals,simple and compound starch granules and fusiform fibers with pits.Root microscopic characters were presence of simple and spherical starch granules with rounded or slit hilum,groups of lignified xylem fibers,reticulate vessek,and sieve tissues.Leaves microscopy indicated the presence of paracytic stomata,lignified fibers having pits,spiral and annular vessels,numerous sclereids while in fruit microscopy epicarp,thin walled cells endocarp,thin walled parenchyma and collenchyma of mesocarp and abundant thick walled endospermic cells containing aleurone grains and micro rosette crystals.Macroscopic study of leaves showed,5-7 lobed reniform-shape,glabrous-surface,reticulate-venation in the leaves.Macroscopic features of roots showed type of root-taproot,surface-glabrous and stem was 1-10dm tall simple to branched and may be prostrate or ascending.Similarly fruit was of schizocarp type.Conclusions:This study provides the scientific data for the proper identification and establishment of standards for the use of Malva parviflora. | Shehla Akbar Uzma Hanif Jaffar Ali Saiqa Ishtiaq | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2014,4,5: | 0 |
