| 2 | The Emergency Department Crash Cart: A systematic review and suggested contents显示文摘BACKGROUND: As the field of Emergency Medicine grows worldwide, the importance of an Emergency Department Crash Cart(EDCC) has long been recognized. Yet, there is paucity of relevant peer-reviewed literature specifically discussing EDCCs or proposing detailed features for an EDCC suitable for both adult and pediatric patients. METHODS: The authors performed a systematic review of EDCC-specific literature indexed in Pubmed and Embase on December 20, 2016. In addition, the authors reviewed the 2015 American Heart Association(AHA) guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care, the 2015 European Resuscitation Council(ERC) guidelines for resuscitation, and the 2013 American College of Surgeons(ACS) Advanced Trauma Life Support(ATLS) 9 th edition.RESULTS: There were a total of 277 results, with 192 unique results and 85 duplicates. After careful review by two independent reviewers, all but four references were excluded. None of the four included articles described comprehensive contents of equipment and medications for both the adult and pediatric populations. This article describes in detail the final four articles specific to EDCC, and proposes a set of suggested contents for the EDCC. CONCLUSION: Our systematic review shows the striking paucity of such a high impact indispensable item in the ED. | 3 | Comparison between the SAPIEN S3 and the SAPIEN XT transcatheter heart valves:A single-center experience显示文摘AIM To investigate the clinical outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implantation(TAVI) with the SAPIEN 3 transcatheter heart valve(S3-THV) vs the SAPIEN XT valve(XT-THV).METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 507 patients that underwent TAVI with the XT-THV and 283 patients that received the S3-THV at our institution between March 2010 and December 2015.RESULTS Thirty-day mortality(3.5% vs 8.7%:OR=0.44,P=0.21) and 1-year mortality(25.7% vs 20.1%,P=0.55) were similar in the S3-THV and the XT-THV groups.The rates of both major vascular complication and paravalvular regurgitation(PVR)>1 were almost 4 times lower in the S3-THV group than the XT-THV group(major vascular complication: 2.8% vs 9.9%,P<0.0001:PVR>1: 2.4% vs 9.7%,P<0.0001).However,the rate of new pacemaker implantation was almost twice as high in the S3-THV group(17.3% vs 9.8%,P=0.03).In the S3 group,independent predictors of new permanent pacemaker were pre-procedural RBBB(OR=4.9:P=0.001),pre-procedural PR duration(OR=1.14,P=0.05) and device lack of coaxiality(OR=1.13:P=0.05) during deployment.CONCLUSION The S3-THV is associated to lower rates of major vascular complications and PVR but higher rates of new pacemaker compared to the XT-THV.Sub-optimal visualization of the S3-THV in relation to the aortic valvular complex during deployment is a predictor of new permanent pacemaker. | Fadi J Sawaya Marco Spaziano Thierry Lefèvre Andrew Roy Phillippe Garot Thomas Hovasse Antoinette Neylon Hakim Benamer Mauro Romano Thierry Unterseeh Marie-Claude Morice Bernard Chevalier | 2016 | World Journal of Cardiology2016，8，12： | 2 |
| 4 | Metabolic responses of Eucalyptus species to different temperature regimes显示文摘Species and hybrids of Eucalyptus are the world's most widely planted hardwood trees. They are cultivated across a wide range of latitudes and therefore environmental conditions. In this context, comprehensive metabolomics approaches have been used to assess how different temperature regimes may affect the metabolism of three species of Eucalyptus, E. dunnii, E. grandis and E. pellita.Young plants were grown for 53 d in the greenhouse and then transferred to growth chambers at 10°C, 20°C or30°C for another 7 d. In all three species the leaf chlorophyll content was positively correlated to temperature, and in E.pellita the highest temperature also resulted in a significant increase in stem biomass. Comprehensive metabolomics was performed using untargeted gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS) and liquid chromatography(LC)-MS.This approach enabled the comparison of the relativeabundance of 88 polar primary metabolites from GC-MS and625 semi-polar secondary metabolites from LC-MS. Using principal components analysis, a major effect of temperature was observed in each species which was larger than that resulting from the genetic background. Compounds mostly affected by temperature treatment were subsequently selected using partial least squares discriminant analysis and were further identified.
