1Loss-of-function of KMT5B leads to neurodevelopmental disorder and impairs neuronal development and neurogenesis显示文摘Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)is a group of neurodevelopmental disorders that cause severe social,communication,and behavioral problems.Recent studies show that the variants of a histone methyltransferase gene KMT5B cause neurodevelopmental disorders(NDDs),including ASD,and the knockout of Kmt5b in mice is embryonic lethal.However,the detailed genotype-phenotype correlations and functional effects of KMT5B in neurodevelopment are unclear.By targeted sequencing of a large Chinese ASD cohort,analyzing published genome-wide sequencing data,and mining literature,we curated 39 KMT5B variants identified from NDD individuals.A genotype-phenotype correlation analysis for 10 individuals with KMT5B pathogenic variants reveals common symptoms,including ASD,intellectual disability,languages problem,and macrocephaly.In vitro knockdown of the expression of Kmt5b in cultured mouse primary cortical neurons leads to a decrease in neuronal dendritic complexity and an increase in dendritic spine density,which can be rescued by expression of human KMT5B but not that of pathogenic de novo missense mutants.In vivo knockdown of the Kmt5b expression in the mouse embryonic cerebral cortex by in utero electroporation results in decreased proliferation and accelerated migration of neural progenitor cells.Our findings reveal essential roles of histone methyltransferase KMT5B in neuronal development,prenatal neurogenesis,and neuronal migration.Guodong Chen Lin Han Senwei Tan Xiangbin Jia Huidan Wu Yingting Quan Qiumeng Zhang Bin Yu Zhengmao Hu Kun Xia Hui Guo 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,9:1

3Factor Analysis on Subsidy Preference of Private Forest Owners显示文摘Forest farmers are the basic micro-subjects in southern collectively owned forest, and their willingness towards forest management directly influences forestry development. Thus, to provide subsidies to forest farmers is an important means to encourage the farmers' enthusiasm to manage the forest and promote the healthy and sustainable development of private forest. In order to reduce the supply-demand contradictions and improve the implementation effects of the subsidies system, the design of the system should be based on the real needs of forest farmers. On this basis, a questionnaire survey was designed in this paper to study the preferences of forest farmers to different types of subsidies in the southern collectively owned forest and the influencing factors were analysed by the Logistic Model to search for the reasonable design of the system. 4Mechanism analysis of cheetah’s high-speed locomotion based on digital reconstruction显示文摘As the fastest land animal,cheetah has important reference significance for the research of high-speed quadruped robots in terms of its body structure,motion characteristics and control mechanism.In this paper,we used digital reconstruction to analyze the mechanism of the cheetah’s high-speed movement.Considering the body size and quality of a real cheetah,a simplified virtual model of cheetah was built.Using the D-H method,the kinematics and dynamics of the cheetah’s leg mechanism were established.By using the foot trajectory data of the cheetah’s running gait obtained from biological research,each joint angle,virtual leg length,leg-to-ground contact angle,leg energy,joint torque,and the manipulability of the leg mechanism were analyzed and compared in the time dimension.Finally,the high-speed motion law of engineering guiding significance was extracted.Xiuli Zhang Chenliang Zhao Zhongqi Xu Senwei Huang 2022Biomimetic Intelligence & Robotics2022,2,1:1
5Direct-to-consumer genetic testing in China and its role in GWAS discovery and replication显示文摘Background:The direct-to-consumer genetic testing(DTC-GT)industry has exploded in recent years,initiated by market pioneers from the United States and quickly followed by companies from Europe and Asia.In addition to their primary objective of providing ancestry and health information to customers,DTC-GT services have emerged as a valuable data resource for large-scale population and genetics studies.Methods:We assessed DTC-GT market leaders in the U.S.and China,user participation in research,and academic reports based on this information.We also investigated DTC-GT end-user value by tracing key updates of companies provided via health risk reports and evaluating their predictive power.We then assessed the replicability of several genome-wide association studies(GWAS)based on a Chinese DTC-GT biobank.Results:As recent entrants to the market,Chinese DTC-GT serv ice providers have published less academic research than their Western counterparts;however,a larger proportion of Chinese users consent to participate in research projects.Dramatic increases in user volume and resultant report updates led to reclassification of some users'polygenic risk levels,but within a reasonable scale and with increased predictive power.Replicability among GWAS using the Chinese DTC-GT biobank varied by studied trait,population background,and sample size.Conclusions:We speculate that the rapid growth in DTC-GT services,particularly in non-Caucasian populations,will yield an important and much-needed resource for biobanking,large-scale genetic studies,clinical trials,and post-clinical applications.Kang Kang Xue Sun Lizhong Wang Xiaotian Yao Senwei Tang Junjie Deng Xiaoli Wu WeGene Research Team Can Yang Gang Chen 2021Quantitative Biology2021,9,2:0
6Rational design, synthesis and prospect of biodegradable magnesium alloy vascular stents显示文摘Biodegradable magnesium(Mg) alloys are expected to be promising materials for cardiovascular stents(CVS), which can avoid the longterm clinical problems of current CVS, such as in-stent restenosis, late stent thrombosis, etc. Mg alloy stents exhibit superior biocompatibility and tunable biodegradability, compared with conventional permanent metallic stents. However, the poor formability and non-uniform corrosion of Mg alloy stents hinder their clinical application of CVS. This review focuses on the development of Mg alloys for CVS in recent years.According to the results of bibliometric analysis, we analyzed different biodegradable Mg alloy systems. Moreover, the structural design strategies for Mg alloy stents that can reduce the stress concentration, as well as the surface modification methods to control the corrosion behavior and biological performance of Mg alloy stents are also highlighted. 7Synergistic effect of electrode defect regulation and Bi catalyst deposition on the performance of iron–chromium redox flow battery显示文摘Iron-chromium redox flow batteries (ICRFBs) possess advantages of high safety,long cycle time,and lowcost.Increasing Cr^(3+)/Cr^(2+)reaction activity is suggested as one of the most promising strategies to improve the performance and prolong the lifetime of ICRFBs.To improve the slow reaction kinetics of the negative electrode,a type of defected carbon cloth with Bismuth (Bi) catalyst introduction is prepared by defect engineering method and electrochemical deposition,which provided defect sites and active sites to catalyze the redox couple’s reaction of ICRFBs.Furthermore,this modified carbon cloth adsorbs Cr(Ⅲ)hydrate more easily,which has a more stable structure and can significantly improve the performance of ICRFBs.Both experimental analysis and theoretical calculation indicated that the modified electrode has excellent electrocatalytic ability,which can enhance the reaction rate of Cr^(3+)/Cr^(2+),improve capacity retention and stabilize cycling performance.The capacity degradation rate of an ICRFB single cell with the modified electrodes is just 0.23%per cycle at a current density of 140 m A/cm^(2).Additionally,the energy efficiency (EE) remains around 83%,which is 8.45%higher than that of the pristine electrode assembled battery under 60 cycles.This work supplies a simple method to obtain a high-performance electrode material for ICRFBs and makes it a practical solution to promote ICFRBs large-scale commercialization process.Quan Xu Siyang Wang Chunming Xu Xinyi Chen Senwei Zeng Chuanyuan Li Yang Zhou Tianhang Zhou Yingchun Niu 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,10:0
8Drop-Activation:Implicit Parameter Reduction and Harmonious Regularization显示文摘Overfitting frequently occurs in deep learning.In this paper,we propose a novel regularization method called drop-activation to reduce overfitting and improve generalization.The key idea is to drop nonlinear activation functions by setting them to be identity functions randomly during training time.During testing,we use a deterministic network with a new activation function to encode the average effect of dropping activations randomly.Our theoretical analyses support the regularization effect of drop-activation as implicit parameter reduction and verify its capability to be used together with batch normalization(Iolfe and Szegedy in Batch normalization:accelerating deep network training by reducing internal covariate shift.arXiv:1502.03167,2015).The experimental results on CIFAR10,CIFAR100,SVHN,EMNIST,and ImageNet show that drop-activation generally improves the performance of popular neural network architectures for the image classification task.Furthermore,as a regularizer drop-activation can be used in harmony with standard training and regularization techniques such as batch normalization and AutoAugment(Cubuk et al.in Proceedings of the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition,pp.113-123,2019).The code is available at http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460ask5w65ukkoqvv69w0.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/LeungSamWai/Drop-Activ ation.Senwei Liang Yuehaw Khoo Haizhao Yang 2021Communications on Applied Mathematics and Computation2021,3,2:0
