| 2 | The role of antioxidants and pro-oxidants in colon cancer显示文摘This review focuses on the roles antioxidants and prooxidants in colorectal cancer(CRC).Considerable evidence suggests that environmental factors play key roles in the incidence of sporadic CRC.If pro-oxidant factors play an etiological role in CRC it is reasonable to expect causal interconnections between the wellcharacterized risk factors for CRC,oxidative stress and genotoxicity.Cigarette smoking,a high dietary consumption of n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and alcohol intake are all associated with increased CRC risk.These risk factors are all pro-oxidant stressors and their connections to oxidative stress,the intestinal microbiome,intestinal microfold cells,cyclooxygenase-2 and CRCare detailed in this review.While a strong case can be made for pro-oxidant stressors in causing CRC,the role of food antioxidants in preventing CRC is less certain.It is clear that not every micronutrient with antioxidant activity can prevent CRC.It is plausible,however,that the optimal food antioxidants for preventing CRC have not yet been critically evaluated.Increasing evidence suggests that RRR-gamma-tocopherol(the primary dietary form of vitamin E)or other'non-alpha-tocopherol'forms of vitamin E(e.g.,tocotrienols)might be effective.Aspirin is an antioxidant and its consumption is linked to a decreased risk of CRC. | William L Stone Koyamangalath Krishnan Sharon E Campbell Victoria E Palau | 2014 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2014，6，3： | 4 |
| 3 | Single-atom heterogeneous catalysts based on distinct carbon nitride scaffolds显示文摘Carbon nitrides integrating macroheterocycles offer unique potential as hosts for stabilizing metal atoms due to their rich electronic structure. To date, only graphitic heptazine-based polymers have been studied.Here, we demonstrate that palladium atoms can be effectively isolated on other carbon nitride scaffolds including linear melem oligomers and poly(triazine/heptazine imides). Increased metal uptake was linked to the larger cavity size and the presence of chloride ions in the polyimide structures. Changing the host structure leads to significant variation in the average oxidation state of the metal, which can be tuned by exchange of the ionic species as evidenced by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and supported by density functional theory. Evaluation in the semi-hydrogenation of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol reveals an inverse correlation between the activity and the degree of oxidation of palladium, with oligomers exhibiting the highest activity. | 4 | Functional magnetic resonance imaging and the brain: A brief review显示文摘Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) is em-ployed in many behavior analysis studies, with blood oxygen level dependent-(BOLD-) contrast imaging being the main method used to generate images. The use of BOLD-contrast imaging in f MRI has been refined over the years, for example, the inclusion of a spin echo pulse and increased magnetic strength were shown to produce better recorded images. Taking careful precautions to control variables during measurement, comparisons between different specimen groups can be illustrated by f MRI imaging using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Differences have been observed in comparisons of active and resting, developing and aging, and defective and damaged brains in various studies. However, cognitive studies using f MRI still face a number of challenges in interpretation that can only be overcome by imaging large numbers of samples. | 5 | Thrombolysis of stroke mimics via telestroke显示文摘Background The rate of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator(IVtPA)administered to stroke mimics(SM)occurs in 24%-44%of telestroke series.Methods We reviewed 270 suspected acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)patients who were evaluated by telestroke and received IVtPA from 1 July 2016 to 30 September 2017 at our academic comprehensive stroke centre.Results Among 270 AIS patients who received IVtPA via telestroke,64(23.7%)were diagnosed with SM.Compared with patients who had a stroke,the SM group was younger(mean age 56.4 vs 68.2,p<0.0001),more likely to be female(60.9%vs 45.6%,p=0.0324)and had longer door-to needle times(85.3 vs 69.9,p=0.0008).The most common SM diagnoses were migraine 26(40.6%),conversion disorder 12(18.8%),encephalopathy 7(10.9%)and unmasking(9.4%).Among the SM,migraine and conversion disorder were younger compared with the other subgroups(p<0.001).Functional exam elements were noted more frequently in conversion disorder(66.7%)and migraine(34.6%),but rare in other diagnoses(p=0.006).Among the SM,23(35.9%)had a history of a prior similar episodes,and 15(23.4%)had a history of more than 5 spells.Conclusions In our telestroke programme,23.7%of those administered thrombolysis had a final diagnosis of SM. | Vivien H Lee Ravyn Howell Randheer Yadav Sharon Heaton Karen L Wiles Sushil Lakhani | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022，7，3： | 2 |
