| 3 | Subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease: 8 years of follow-up显示文摘Objective:The short-term benefits of bilateral stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus(STN)in patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease(PD)are well documented,but long-term benefits are still uncertain.The aim of this study is to evaluate the outcome of 8 years of bilateral STN stimulation to PD patients.Methods:In this study,31 consecutive PD patients were treated with bilateral STN stimulation.Their functional status was measured using the Activities of Daily Living section of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS-ADL)at drug on(with medication)and drug off(without medication)states preoperatively and at 1,5,and 8 years postoperatively.In addition,Levodopa equivalent doses and stimulation parameters were also assessed.Results:After 8 years of STN stimulation,the UPDRS-ADL scores were improved by 4%at drug off status(P>0.05)and 22%at drug on status(P<0.05)compared with baseline;the levodopa daily doses were reduced by 28%(P<0.05)compared with baseline;the stimulation voltage and pulse width were not changed,but the stimulation frequency was decreased remarkably compared with the 5 years of follow-up.Adverse events were observed in 6 patients,including misplacement of the electrode and skin erosion requiring further surgery.All events were resolved without permanent sequelae.2 patients died of aspiration pneumonia 6 and 7 years after surgery.Conclusions:The marked improvement in UPDRS-ADL scores were still observed after 8 years of bilateral STN stimulation with medication. | Dianyou Li Chunyan Cao Jing Zhang Shikun Zhan Shengdi Chen Bomin Sun | 2013 | Translational Neurodegeneration2013,2,1: | 4 |

| 6 | Online measurement of alkalinity in anaerobic co-digestion using linear regression method显示文摘Alkalinity is a reliable indicator of process stability in anaerobic digestion system.Total alkalinity(TA)and partial alkalinity(PA)are usually monitored offline as indicators for the status of anaerobic digestion process.In order to online monitor TA and PA,the linear regression method was used as estimator to predict alkalinity via software sensor method.Parameters,namely,pH,oxidation and reduction potential(ORP),and electrical conductivity(EC),were used as input variables.EC was the most significant parameter with TA and PA.Multiple linear regression(MLR)models and simple linear regression models with EC were constructed to predict TA and PA in anaerobic co-digestion system.On the basis of the evaluation of prediction accuracy,the applications of linear regression models were better for monitoring PA than TA.MLR models provided higher accuracy for alkalinity prediction than simple linear regression models.The two MLR models based on single-phase anaerobic digestion system were also feasible to predict TA in anaerobic co-digestion systems.However,the accuracy of these models should be improved by calibrating for broad applications of linear regression method in online alkalinity measurement. | Bai Xue Li Zifu Wang Xuemei He Xi Cheng Shikun Bai Xiaofeng Gao Ruiling | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,1: | 1 |

| 8 | Multi-Object Tracking with Micro Aerial Vehicle显示文摘A simple yet efficient tracking framework is proposed for real-time multi-object tracking with micro aerial vehicles(MAVs). It's basic missions for MAVs to detect specific targets and then track them automatically. In our method, candidate regions are generated using the salient detection in each frame and then classified by an eural network. A kernelized correlation filter(KCF) is employed to track each target until it disappears or the peak-sidelobe ratio is lower than a threshold. Besides, we define the birth and death of each tracker for the targets. The tracker is recycled if its target disappears and can be assigned to a new target. The algorithm is evaluated on the PAFISS and UAV123 datasets. | 9 | The critical role of m^(6)A methylation in the pathogenesis of Graves'ophthalmopathy显示文摘Purpose:To investigate the role of N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA modification in the pathogenesis of Graves'ophthalmopathy(GO).Methods:Surgically excised extraocular muscles from 7 patients with GO and 5 subjects without GO were used.The global m^(6)A levels in the specimens were determined using an m^(6)A RNA methylation quantification kit.RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)was used to analyze the molecules involved in the regulation of m^(6)A RNA methylation and the differential expression of mRNAs between the two groups(4 eyes,respectively).The expression of m^(6)A RNA modification genes was evaluated by real-time PCR.The functional implications of the gene alterations between the GO and control specimens were determined by Gene Ontology analysis.Results:The m^(6)A level was significantly increased in the specimens of GO patients compared to the control specimens(P<0.05).The expression of m^(6)A methylation regulators,such as WT1 associated protein(WTAP),alkylation repair homolog protein 5(ALKBH5),E74 like ETS transcription factor 3(ELF3),YTH N6-methyladenosine RNA binding protein 2(YTHDF2),YTHDF3 and YTH domain containing 2(YTHDC2),was significantly upregulated(P<0.05).Gene Ontology enrichment analysis showed that the most highly upregulated genes and biological pathways were related to the immune response and inflammatory processes such as lymphocyte activation,leukocyte differentiation,cytokine production and cytokine-mediated signaling pathways.Conclusions:Our results suggest that m^(6)A methylation may play a critical role in the pathogenesis of GO and that targeting genes that regulate m^(6)A methylation may provide a new therapeutic approach for GO. | Li Zhu Siyan Li Shikun He Qizhe Tong Lejin Wang Xiaohua Li Xi Wu Qingyu Meng Enzhong Jin Chuan Zhang Tianyuan Li Ningda Xu Lvzhen Huang Yi Wang Mingwei Zhao | 2020 | Eye and Vision2020,7,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Phylogenetic diversity of bacteria associated with the marine sponge Agelas robusta from South China Sea显示文摘It is well known that marine sponges harbor large numbers of bacteria,some of which have been proved to be sponge-specific.The diversity of bacteria in marine sponges distributed along the coast of South China Sea has been previously studied but that of bacteria in sponges inhabiting the open sea has been rarely investigated.In this report,the diversity of bacteria associated with the marine sponge Agelas robusta from a remote coral reef in the South China Sea was documented employing 16S rDNA library construction,amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis(ARDRA) and phylogenetic analysis.A total of 32 phylotypes were finally categorized in nine phyla including Cyanobacteria,Proteobacteria,Chloroflexi,Firmicutes,Actinobacteria,Acidobacteria,Planctomycetes,Bacteroidetes and Gemmatimonadetes.The dominant phylum was Proteobacteria whereas the dominant genus was Synechococcus in Cyanobacteria.Some spongespecific bacteria were also found in the bacteria population,but the proportion(5 OTUs/32 OTUs) was much lower than other sponges.This study reveals the phylogenetic diversity of bacteria in A.robusta and confirms the presence of some sponge-specific bacteria in the South China Sea.Understanding the diversity of sponge-associated bacteria in China assists to exploit the bacteria resources for biotechnology. | SUN We DAI Shikun WANG Guanghua XIE Lianwu JIANG Shumei LI Xiang | 2010 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,5: | 1 |

| 14 | Optimization of Thermal Conductivity of Alumina-Filled Composites by Numerical Simulations显示文摘Understanding the correlation between the physical features of composite components and thermal conductive pathway is beneficial to optimizing the overall heat-transfer performance.Herein,we conduct numerical simulation to investigate the thermal conductivity and heat flux distributions of alumina(Al_(2)O_(3))-filled composites.The finite element model was verified by both experimental data and theoretical models.The crucial factors include the influence of the interface thermal resistance,the intrinsic thermal conductivity of the matrix and Al_(2)O_(3)filler,and the size effect of Al_(2)O_(3)fillers were investigated.For single Al_(2)O_(3)-filled composites,the results indicate that increasing the intrinsic thermal conductivity of the matrix is conductive to bridge the Al_(2)O_(3)pathway along heat-transfer direction,but there are very limited contributions by enhancing the intrinsic thermal conductivity of Al_(2)O_(3)filler,tuning the size of Al_(2)O_(3)filler,and reducing the interface thermal resistance.After introducing the multiscale fillers,it is found that the high thermal conductivity can be achieved by regulating their size matching effect.At the optimal binary ratio of 70:30(40µm:15µm)and ternary ratio of 55:35:10(40µm:15µm:10µm),the heat-conduction network presents the dominant skeleton of large-sized filler and the bridging branch of small-sized fillers features,which facilitates the formation of a complete and continuous thermal conductive network.This study gives a practical guidance for the thermal conductive design of Al_(2)O_(3)-filled composites. | LI Shikun LIU Bin JIA Xiao XU Min ZONG Ruoyu LIU Guohua HUAI Xiulan | 2023 | Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,4: | 0 |

| 16 | Utilization of MSWI fly ash as partial cement or sand substitute with focus on cementing efficiency and health risk assessment显示文摘The strength of cement substituted mortar decreases with the increase in fly ash amount,whereas the strength increases when the fly ash is blended as sand substitute.A mortar with highest strength(compressive strength=30.2 Mpa;flexural strength=7.0 Mpa)was obtained when the sand replacement ratio was 0.75%.The k value(cementing efficiency)of fly ash varied between 0.36 and 0.15 for the fly ash fraction in binder between 5%and 25%.The k values of fly ash used for sand replacement were all significantly above that used for cement substitution.The macropores assigned to the gaps between particles decreased when the fly ash was used as sand replacement,providing an explanation for the strength enhancement.The waste-extraction procedure(toxicity-sulphuric acid and nitric acid method(HJ/T 299-2007))was used to evaluate metal leaching,indicating the reuse possibility of fly ash blended mortar.For the mortar with the mass ratio of fly ash to binder of 0.5%,the carcinogenic risks(CR)and non-carcinogenic hazard quotient(HQ)in sensitive scenario for blended mortar utilization were 9.66 x 10 and 0.06,respectively;these results were both lower than the threshold values,showing an acceptable health risk.The CR(9.89 x 105)and HQ(3.89)of the nonsensitive scenario for fly ash treatment exceeded the acceptable threshold values,indicating health risks to onsite workers.The main contributor to the carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risk is Cr and Cd,respectively.The CR and HQ from inhalation was the main route of heavy metal exposure. | Lei Zheng Xingbao Gao Wei Wang Zifu Li Lingling Zhang Shikun Cheng | 2020 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,1: | 0 |

| 19 | Mechanism of drilling rate improvement using high-pressure liquid nitrogen jet显示文摘To address the high rock strength and low drilling rate issues in deep oil/gas and geothermal exploitation, we performed mechanical property tests on three kinds of rock samples(granite, shale and sandstone) subjected to liquid nitrogen(LN2) cooling and conducted rock-breaking experiments using LN2 jet. Rock-breaking characteristics and mechanisms of LN2 jet, heat transfer features between LN2 and rock and thermal stress evolution in rock were analyzed. A novel high-pressure LN2 jet assisted drilling method was proposed accordingly. The study results show that LN2 thermal shock can significantly reduce uniaxial compression strength and elastic modulus of rock. Rock damage and corresponding mechanical deterioration become more pronounced with increasing rock temperature. The LN2 jet has merits of high rock-breaking efficiency and low threshold rock-breaking pressure. Rock failure under LN2 jet impact is characterized by large volume breakage and the rock-breaking performance becomes more significant with increase of rock temperature. Under the impact of LN2 jet, the damage of granite is the most remarkable among the three rock samples. Thus, this method works better for high temperature granite formations.
