| 1 | Acclimation and Tolerance Strategies of Rice under Drought Stress显示文摘Rice(Oryza sativa L.) is an important food crop and requires larger amount of water throughout its life cycle as compared to other crops. Hence,water related stress cause severe threat to rice production. Drought is a major challenge limiting rice production. It affects rice at morphological(reduced germination,plant height,plant biomass,number of tillers,various root and leaf traits),physiological(reduced photosynthesis,transpiration,stomatal conductance,water use efficiency,relative water content,chlorophyll content,photosystem Ⅱ activity,membrane stability,carbon isotope discrimination and abscisic acid content),biochemical(accumulation of osmoprotectant like proline,sugars,polyamines and antioxidants) and molecular(altered expression of genes which encode transcription factors and defence related proteins) levels and thereby affects its yield. To facilitate the selection or development of drought tolerant rice varieties,a thorough understanding of the various mechanisms that govern the yield of rice under water stress condition is a prerequisite. | 2 | Carcinogenic Helicobacter pylori in gastric pre-cancer and cancer lesions: Association with tobacco-chewing显示文摘AIM:To investigate the low gastric cancer incidence rate relative to the highly prevalent Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection;data relevant to H.pylori infection during gastric carcinogenesis in Indian patients is currently lacking.METHODS:The present study examines the prevalence of H.pylori infection in DNA derived from 156endoscopic gastric biopsies of different disease groups that represent gastric pre-cancer[intestinal metaplasia(n=15),dysplasia(n=15)],cancer[diffuse adenocarcinoma(n=44),intestinal adenocarcinoma(n=21)],and symptomatic but histopathologically-normal controls(n=61).This was done by generic ureC polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and cagA-specific PCR that could specifically identify the carcinogenic H.pylori strain.RESULTS:Our analysis showed the presence of H.pylori infection in 61%of symptomatic histopathologically-normal individuals,however only 34%of control tissues were harboring the cagA+H.pylori strain.A similar proportion of H.pylori infection(52%)and cagA(26%)positivity was observed in the tumor tissue of the gastric cancer group.In comparison,H.pylori infection(90%)and cagA positivity(73%)were the highest in gastric pre-cancer lesions.In relation to tobacco and alcohol abuse,H.pylori infection showed an association with tobacco chewing,whereas we did not observe any association between tobacco smoking or alcohol abuse with prevalence of H.pylori infection in the tissue of any of the patient groups studied.CONCLUSION:High incidence of H.pylori infection and carcinogenic cagA positive strain in pre-cancer lesions during gastric carcinogenesis may be | Arvind Pandey Satyendra Chandra Tripathi Sutapa Mahata Kanchan Vishnoi Shirish Shukla Sri Prakash Misra Vatsala Misra Suresh Hedau Ravi Mehrotra Manisha DwivediZ Alok C Bharti | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,22: | 4 |

| 4 | Ayurvedic management for diabetic nephropathy: a case study显示文摘Nephropathy is the significant complication of diabetes mellitus that affects about 40%of diabetics and a major cause of death and disability among diabetics.It is observed that even the patients having well-controlled diabetes suffer from diabetic nephropathy.It needs intense management,such as dialysis and badly affects the quality of life.A male patient of 45 years visited the outpatient department complaining of bilateral pedal edema,frequent micturition,nausea especially during morning hours,reduced apetite,generalized weakness and itching all over body from past 4 years.He was known case of diabetes mellitus since 4 years.Routine investigations of kidney function tests and urine microscopic findings were also found disturbed.Patient was taking oral hypoglycemic drug(metformin 500 mg twice a day).He was diagnosed as a case of diabetic nephropathy on the basis of clinical signs&symptoms and with lab findings.According to ayurveda,the symptoms resembles with Prameha janya upadrava(post-diabetic complications).Patient was given ayurvedic medication for a period of 30 days and investigations were done after 30 days.There was marked relief in the symptoms along with considerable improvement in renal investigations like blood urea,serum creatinine&uric acid profile.This management may bring some new hope to the patients of diabetic nephropathy,which usually terminates to chronic renal failure and ultimately to death. | Rishu Sharma Alok KmSrivastava Gyanendra D Shukla | 2021 | Drug Combination Therapy2021,3,2: | 0 |
| 5 | Development of lead-free multifunctional materials Bi(Co_(0.45_Ti_(0.45)Fe_(0.10))O_3显示文摘A lead free multiferroic material,Bi(Co_(0.45)Ti_(0.45)Fe_(0.10))O_3(BCTF45/10)was synthesized by a solid-state reaction route at high temperatures.BCTF45/10 powder was prepared using appropriate raw maretials in oxide powders with methanol medium.As-prepared circular shaped pellets were sintered at 1053 K for 6 h to produce a compact form.Preliminary structural properties and elemental analysis were determined using X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy techniques respectively at room temperature.The microstructure or surface morphology of the sintered sample was carried out by using field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM).The XRD analysis shows that the compound exhibits the single-phase of orthorhombic symmetry.The average crystallite size estimated using the Scherrer's technique was found to be 30 nm.The influence of Co and Ti substitution(at Bi and Ti sites of Bi Fe O_3)on some physical and electrical properties of Bi Fe O_3was examined by using phase sensitive multimeter in a wide frequency and temperature ranges.The magnetic nature of the sample was studied using vibrating sample magnetometer.Study of room temperature magnetic hysteresis loop exhibits the enhanced ferromagnetic characteristic with saturation magnetization of 5.091 emu/g and coercive field of 0.213 k Oe respectively.The enhanced magnetic properties highlight various potential applications of Co/Ti doped BCTF45/10 materials. | Nitin Kumar Alok Shukla R.N.P.Choudhary | 2018 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2018,28,3: | 0 |
| 6 | Ferroelectric composite-based piezoelectric energy harvester for selfpowered detection of obstructive sleep显示文摘Lead-free piezoelectric ceramic is a promising material for energy harvesters,as they have superior electromechanical,ferroelectric,and piezoelectric properties.In addition,piezoelectric ceramics can be blended with polymer to achieve high-flexibility polymer-ceramic composites,providing mechanical robustness and stability.In this context,a new lead-free ferroelectric material,having the chemical formula SrTi_(2)O_(5)(STO),was synthesized using a high-temperature solid-state reaction.Detailed analyses of the structural,morphological,and electrical properties of the synthesized material were performed.STO crystallizes with orthorhombic symmetry and space group of Cmm2.The frequency and temperature-dependent dielectric parameters were evaluated,and impedance spectroscopy shed light on the charge dynamics.The PDMS-STO composites at different mass fraction of the STO were prepared using a solvent casting route,and a corresponding piezoelectric nanogenerator(PENG)was developed.The electrical output of the different PENG by varying massfractions of STO in PDMS and varying force were investigated.The 15%(in mass)PENG device delivered the highest peak-to-peak voltage,current,and power density of 25 V,92 nA,and 0.64 mW@500 MU,respectively.The biomechanical energy harvesting using the PENG device by daily human motions,bending of the device,and attaching the device to laboratory equipment was demonstrated.Later the PENG device was attached to the human throat region,and snoring signals were recorded.A classification model was designed employing the convolutional neural network(CNN)model.Efforts have been laid to differentiate between normal and abnormal snores,which could help the patient with screening and early disease detection,contributing to self-powered healthcare applications. | Swati Panda Hyoju Shin Sugato Hajra Yumi Oh Wonjeong Oh Jeonghyeon Lee P.M.Rajaitha Basanta Kumar Panigrahi Jyoti Shukla Alok Kumar Sahu Perumal Alagarsamy Hoe Joon Kim | 2023 | Journal of Materiomics2023,9,4: | 0 |
