1Exploring detailed urban-rural development under intersecting population growth and food production scenarios: Trajectories for China’s most populous agricultural province to 2030显示文摘Henan,China,is likely the most populous agricultural province worldwide.It is China’s major grain-producing area,with a continuously increasing population(96 million),which is greater than 93%of countries worldwide.However,this province has been experiencing unprecedented urbanization recently due to national policies and measures,such as a plan to build the capital city of Henan into a national center,resulting in severe conflicts in land use that endanger food security regionally and globally.To facilitate decision-making on this problem,we explored the detailed urban-rural development of Henan by modeling these land-use conflicts.Conventional modeling of a region’s urban-rural development is to navigate trade-offs(a)solely between different land-use types(b)by assuming that each type provides a single service(e.g.,croplands produce all the food),and(c)under a polynomial regression-based projection of population.In contrast,we considered both land-use type and intensity,resulting in a detailed land system for Henan.By introducing the concept of land system services(e.g.,food production),we established a many-to-many relationship between land system classes and services.These allowed us to carry out the most comprehensive modeling of Henan’s urban-rural development under eighteen combined scenarios of population growth and land-use policies on food production.The modeling results of these scenarios provide a solid basis for making decisions regarding Henan’s urban-rural development.We also revealed the influence mechanism of population growth,land-use policies,and their combinations,highlighting the benefits of securing food production by agricultural intensification rather than merely expanding the area of cropland.GAO Peichao XIE Yiru SONG Changqing CHENG Changxiu YE Sijing 2023Journal of Geographical Sciences2023,33,2:2
2Cross-national Perspectives on Using Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) Indicators for Monitoring Sustainable Development: A Database and Analysis显示文摘Sustainable development is the theme of the 21st century. To monitor the progress of sustainable development, the United Nations launched Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) in 2015. Subsequently, nations of the world have drawn up a list of localized indicators regarding the United Nations SDGs as a paradigm. We established a database including SDGs indicator systems of 11 economies by collecting and determining a large number of materials. Based on this database, we analyzed SDGs indicators by designing a conceptual framework of comparative analysis that included three views. We found that the SDGs indicator systems of 11 economies are different between the number of indicators, the proportion of different categories, and the connotation of indicators. Although the SDGs indicator systems among economies regarded the United Nations SDGs as a framework and included the major social problems related to sustainability, the inconsistency between SDGs indicator systems is large. It is a major reason why scholars lack the systematic method for developing indicators. There are challenges faced in data accessibility. 5Citywide package deliveries via crowdshipping:minimizing the efforts from crowdsourcers显示文摘Most current crowdsourced logistics aim to minimize systems cost and maximize delivery capacity,but the efforts of crowdsourcers such as drivers are almost ignored.In the delivery process,drivers usually need to take long-distance detours in hitchhiking rides based package deliveries.In this paper,we propose an approach that integrates offline trajectory data mining and online route-and-schedule optimization in the hitchhiking ride scenario to find optimal delivery routes for packages and drivers.Specifically,we propose a two-phase framework for the delivery route planning and scheduling.In the first phase,the historical trajectory data are mined offline to build the package transport network.In the second phase,we model the delivery route planning and package-taxi matching as an integer linear programming problem and solve it with the Gurobi optimizer.After that,taxis are scheduled to deliver packages with optimal delivery paths via a newly designed scheduling strategy.We evaluate our approach with the realworld datasets;the results show that our proposed approach can complete citywide package deliveries with a high success rate and low extra efforts of taxi drivers.Sijing CHENG Chao CHEN Shenle PAN Hongyu HUANG Wei ZHANG Yuming FENG 2022Frontiers of Computer Science2022,16,5:0
6Piezoelectric wearable atrial fibrillation prediction wristband enabled by machine learning and hydrogel affinity显示文摘Atrial fibrillation(AF)is a common and serious disease.Its diagnosis usually requires 12-lead electrocardiogram,which is heavy and inconvenient.At the same time,the venue for diagnosis is also limited to the hospital.With the development of the concept of intelligent medical,a wearable,portable,and reliable diagnostic method is needed to improve the patient’s comfort and alleviate the patient’s pain.Here,we reported a wearable atrial fibrillation prediction wristband(AFPW)which can provide longterm monitoring and AF diagnosis.AFPW uses polyvinylidene fluoride piezoelectric film as sensing material and hydrogel as skin bonding material,of which the structure and design have been optimized and improved.The hydrogel skin bonding layer has good stability and skin affinity,which can greatly improve the user experience.AFPW has enhanced signal,strong signal-tonoise ratio,and wireless transmission function.After a sample library of 385 normal people/patients is analyzed and tested by linear discriminant analysis,the diagnostic success rate of atrial fibrillation is 91%.All these excellent performances demonstrate the great application potential of AFPW in wearable device diagnosis and intelligent medical treatment.Yuan Xi Sijing Cheng Shengyu Chao Yiran Hu Minsi Cai Yang Zou Zhuo Liu Wei Hua Puchuan Tan Yubo Fan Zhou Li 2023Nano Research2023,16,9:0
7Altered gut microbiome in FUT2 loss-of-function mutants in support of personalized medicine for inflammatory bowel diseases显示文摘The FUT2 loss-of-function mutations are highly prevalent and are associated with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).To investigate the impact of FUT2 loss-of-function mutation on the gut microbiota in patients with IBD,81 endoscopically confirmed IBD patients were genotyped and divided into 3 groups:homozygous for functional FUT2 genes(SeSe),with one copy of non-functional FUT2 gene(Sese),or homozygous for non-functional FUT2 genes(sese).Escherichia,which attaches to fucosylated glycoconjugates,was the only abundant genus exhibiting decreased abundance in sese patients.Compared with SeSe or Sese patients,sese patients exhibited higher abundance in CD8+inducing Alistipe and Phascolarctobacterium and Th17 inducing Erysipelotrichaceae UCG-003.Counter-intuitively,butyrate-producing bacteria were more abundant in sese patients.Consistently,metabolomics analysis found higher levels of butyrate in sese patients.Our data support the hypothesis that FUT2 loss-of-function mutation participates in the IBD pathogenesis by decreasing binding sites for adherent bacteria and thus altering the gut microbiota.Decreased abundances of adherent bacteria may allow the overgrowth of bacteria that induce inflammatory T cells,leading to intestinal inflammation.As FUT2 loss-of-function mutations are highly prevalent,the identification of T cell inducing bacteria in sese patients could be valuable for the development of personalized microbial intervention for IBD.Sijing Cheng Jun Hu Xianrui Wu Ji-An Pan Na Jiao Yichen Li Yibo Huang Xutao Lin Yifeng Zou Yuan Chen Lixin Zhu Min Zhi Ping Lan 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,9:0
