| 1 | Whole-genome resequencing of Osmanthus fragrans provides insights into flower color evolution显示文摘Osmanthus fragrans is a well-known ornamental plant that has been domesticated in China for 2500 years.More than 160 cultivars have been found during this long period of domestication,and they have subsequently been divided into four cultivar groups,including the Yingui,Jingui,Dangui,and Sijigui groups.These groups provide a set of materials to study genetic evolution and variability.Here,we constructed a reference genome of O.fragrans‘Liuyejingui’in the Jingui group and investigated its floral color traits and domestication history by resequencing a total of 122 samples,including 119 O.fragrans accessions and three other Osmanthus species,at an average sequencing depth of 15×.The population structure analysis showed that these 119 accessions formed an apparent regional cluster.The results of linkage disequilibrium(LD)decay analysis suggested that varieties with orange/red flower color in the Dangui group had undergone more artificial directional selection;these varieties had the highest LD values among the four groups,followed by the Sijigui,Jingui,and Yingui groups.Through a genome-wide association study,we further identified significant quantitative trait loci and genomic regions containing several genes,such as ethylene-responsive transcription factor 2 and Arabidopsis pseudoresponse regulator 2,that are positively associated with petal color.Moreover,we found a frameshift mutation with a 34-bp deletion in the first coding region of the carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase 4 gene.This frameshift mutation existed in at least one site on both alleles in all varieties of the Dangui group.The results from this study shed light on the genetic basis of domestication in woody plants,such as O.fragrans. | Hongguo Chen Xiangling Zeng Jie Yang Xuan Cai Yumin Shi Riru Zheng Zhenqi Wang Junyi Liu Xinxin Yi Siwei Xiao Qiang Fu Jingjing Zou Caiyun Wang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 5 |
| 2 | Highly efficient K-Fe/C catalysts derived from metal-organic frameworks towards ammonia synthesis显示文摘Fe-based catalysts have been discovered as the best elementary metal-based heterogeneous catalysts for the ammonia synthesis in industrial application during the last century.Herein,a novel and scalable strategy is developed to prepare the K-promoted Fe/C catalyst with extremely high Fe loading (> 50 wt.%) through pyrolysis of the Fe-based metal-organic framework (MOF) xerogel.The obtained K-Fe/C catalysts exhibited superior activity and stability towards ammonia synthesis.The weight-specific reaction rate of Fe/C with K2O as promoter can achieve 12.4 mmol·g-1·h-1 at 350 ℃ and 30.4 mmol·g-1·h-1 at 400 ℃,approximately four and two times higher than that of the commercial fused-iron catalyst (3.4 mmol·g-1·h-1 at 350 ℃ and 16.7 mmol·g-1·h-1 at 400 ℃) under the same condition,respectively.The excellent performance of K-Fe/C can be ascribed to the inherited structure derived from the metal-organic frame precursors and the promotion of potassium,which can modify the binding energy of reactant molecules on the Fe surface,transfer electrons to iron for effective activation of nitrogen,prevent agglomeration of Fe nanoparticle (NPs) and restrain side reaction of carbon matrix to methane. | Pengqi Yan Wenhan Guo Zibin Liang Wei Meng Zhen Yin Siwei Li Mengzhu Li Mengtao Zhang Jie Yan Dequan Xiao Ruqiang Zou Ding Ma | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,9: | 4 |
| 3 | Selective coordination and localized polarization in graphene quantum dots: Detection of fluoride anions using ultra-low-field NMR relaxometry显示文摘The development of ultra-sensitive methods for detecting anions is limited by their low charge to radius ratios, microenvironment sensitivity, and p H sensitivity. In this paper, a magnetic sensor is devised that exploits the controllable and selective coordination that occurs between a magnetic graphene quantum dot(GQD) and fluoride anion(F–). The sensor is used to measure the change in relaxation time of aqueous solutions of magnetic GQDs in the presence of F–using ultra-low-field(118 μT) nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry. The method was optimized to produce a limit of detection of 10 nmol/L and then applied to quantitatively detect F–in domestic water samples. More importantly, the key factors responsible for the change in relaxation time of the magnetic GQDs in the presence of F–are revealed to be the selective coordination that occurs between the GQDs and F–as well as the localized polarization of the water protons. | 4 | Molecular phylogeny and historical biogeography of the cave fish genus Sinocyclocheilus(Cypriniformes:Cyprinidae)in southwest China显示文摘Modern accumulations of genetic data offer unprecedented opportunities for understanding the systematic classification and origins of specific groups of organisms.The genus Sinocyclocheilus is among the most cave abundant genera in Cyprinidae,with 76 recognized species,belonging to 4 species groups.Recent phylogenetic studies have shown that the classification of species groups within the genus Sinocyclocheilus remains controversial.In this study,we constructed a sequence supermatrix of 26 species from 4 species groups of the genus Sinocyclocheilus using the mitochondrial genome to reveal phylogenetic relationships,historical biogeography and patterns of species diversification in the genus Sinocyclocheilus.Phylogenetic analysis strongly supports the monophyletic groups of the 3 species groups(S.jii,S.cyphotergous,and S.tingi groups)except the S.angularis group.Phylogenetic analysis showed that S.anshuiensis and S.microphthalmus,which were recognized as numbers of S.angularis group,formed a strongly supported independent clade.Therefore,we propose a new species group,the S.microphthalmus group,which contains S.anshuiensis and S.microphthalmus.Biogeographic reconstruction suggests that the living Sinocyclocheilus may have originated in north-central Guangxi at the late Eocene and dispersed outward after a vicariance at 32.31 Million years ago(Ma).Early diversification is focused on the late Oligocene(ca.25 Ma),which is related to the second uplift of the Qinghai−Tibetan Plateau and the lateral extrusion of the Indochina at the Oligocene/Miocene boundary.Our results suggest that 2 uplifts of the Qinghai−Tibetan Plateau and climate change in the Miocene may have influenced the diversification of the Sinocyclocheilus lineage. | Huamei WEN Tao LUO Yali WANG Siwei WANG Tao LIU Ning XIAO Jiang ZHOU | 2022 | Integrative Zoology2022,17,2: | 2 |
| 5 | A New Species of Odorous Frog Genus Odorrana(Anura,Ranidae) from Southern Guizhou Province,China显示文摘We describe Odorrana liboensis sp.nov.,a new species from the Maolan National Nature Reserve,Libo County,Guizhou Province,China.Phylogenetic analyses based on DNA sequences of the mitochondrial 12 S rRNA,16 S rRNA,and ND2 genes supported the new species as an independent lineage,closely related to O.lipuensis.The uncorrected genetic distances between the 12 S rRNA and16 S rRNA in the new species and its closest congener,O.lipuensis,were 6.06%and 5.19%,respectively.The new species is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological characters:(1)having medium body size,with the snout-vent length(SVL)of adult females approximately 1.2 times as long as males at 56.9±1.0(55.8-58.2 mm,n=9)in females and 48.7±1.2(47.1-49.9 mm,n=5)in males;(2)head length greater than width in males and females;(3)tympanum distinctly visible,greater than one-half the diameter of the eye;(4)eyes big and prominent,width of upper eyelid(UEW)approximately3/4 of eye diameter(ED);(5)dorsolateral folds absent;(6)two metacarpal tubercles;(7)relative finger lengths:Ⅱ<Ⅰ<Ⅳ<Ⅲ;(8)subarticular tubercles on fingers prominent:1,1,2,2;(9)one metatarsal tubercle;(10)tibiotarsal articulation reaching to between the eye and nostril when the leg is stretched forward;(11)toes with entire webbing to disks;(12)subarticular tubercles on toes prominent:1,1,2,3,2;(13)dorsal surfaces of limbs with distinct brownish-black bands;(14)smooth,grass-green dorsum with irregular brown mottling;(15)venter smooth,lacking black spots;and(16)lacking pectoral spinules,lacking vocal sacs,and light white nuptial pad present on finger I in males.The new species is currently only known from the type locality. | Tao LUO Siwei WANG Ning XIAO Yali WANG Jiang ZHOU | 2021 | Asian Herpetological Research2021,12,4: | 2 |
