Construction of China Osmanthus City and Intellectual Property Right Protection in Xianning City in the Context of Three New Developments显示文摘Xianning City of Hubei Province is one of the five major traditional osmanthus producing areas in the world and the hometown of osmanthus in China. Xianning is constructing China Osmanthus City in the whole city. This paper first introduces the main characteristics of the osmanthus industry in Xianning City, and analyzes the characteristics of traditional knowledge, biological genetic resources, new plant varieties, patents, geographical indications, and trademarks. Then, it studies the intellectual property resources of the osmanthus industry, and analyzes the main problems existing in the construction of China Osmanthus City and intellectual property right protection. Finally, it comes up with constructive recommendations including applying for China and Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems, developing colored-leaf osmanthus varieties, creating a regional public brand of osmanthus specialty products, and building a new development pattern of osmanthus industry. | Li GAO Zhiguo SUN Yueqiu HE Jiandong LAI Hongguo CHEN | 2022 | Asian Agricultural Research2022,14,9: | 9
Combined Fenton process and sulfide precipitation for removal of heavy metals from industrial wastewater:Bench and pilot scale studies focusing on in-depth thallium removal显示文摘Thallium (Tl) in industrial wastewater is a public health concern due to its extremely high toxicity. However, there has been limited research regarding Tl removal techniques and engineering practices to date. In this investigation, bench and pilot studies on advanced treatment of industrial wastewater to remove Tl to a trace level were conducted. The treatment process involved a combination of hydroxide precipitation, Fenton oxidation, and sulfide precipitation. While hydroxide precipitation was ineffective for Tl^+ removal, it enabled the recovery of approximately 70%-80% of Zn as Zn hydroxide in alkaline conditions. The Fenton process provided good Tl removal (>95%) through oxidation and precipitation. Tl was then removed to trace levels (< 1.0 μg/L) via sulfide precipitation. Effective removal of other heavy metals was also achieved, with Cd < 13.4 μg/L, Cu < 39.6 μg/L, Pb < 5.32 μg/L, and Zn < 357 μg/L detected in the effluent. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicated that T12S precipitate formed due to sulfide precipitation. Other heavy metals were removed via the formation of metal hydroxides during hydroxide precipitation and Fenton treatment, as well as via the formation of metal sulfides during sulfide precipitation. This combined process provides a scalable approach for the in-depth removal of Tl and other heavy metals from industrial wastewater. | Huosheng Li Hongguo Zhang Jianyou Long Ping Zhang Yongheng Chen | 2019 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,4: | 6
Whole-genome resequencing of Osmanthus fragrans provides insights into flower color evolution显示文摘Osmanthus fragrans is a well-known ornamental plant that has been domesticated in China for 2500 years.More than 160 cultivars have been found during this long period of domestication, and they have subsequently been divided into four cultivar groups, including the Yingui,Jingui,Dangui, and Sijigui groups. These groups provide a set of materials to study genetic evolution and variability. Here,we constructed a reference genome of O.fragrans‘Liuyejingui’in the Jingui group and investigated its floral color traits and domestication history by resequencing a total of 122 samples, including 119 O.fragrans accessions and three other Osmanthus species,at an average sequencing depth of 15×.The population structure analysis showed that these 119 accessions formed an apparent regional cluster. The results of linkage disequilibrium(LD)decay analysis suggested that varieties with orange/red flower color in the Dangui group had undergone more artificial directional selection;these varieties had the highest LD values among the four groups, followed by the Sijigui,Jingui, and Yingui groups.Through a genome-wide association study,we further identified significant quantitative trait loci and genomic regions containing several genes, such as ethylene-responsive transcription factor 2 and Arabidopsis pseudoresponse regulator 2,that are positively associated with petal color. Moreover,we found a frameshift mutation with a 34-bp deletion in the first coding region of the carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase 4 gene. This frameshift mutation existed in at least one site on both alleles in all varieties of the Dangui group. The results from this study shed light on the genetic basis of domestication in woody plants, such as O.fragrans. | Hongguo Chen Xiangling Zeng Jie Yang Xuan Cai Yumin Shi Riru Zheng Zhenqi Wang Junyi Liu Xinxin Yi Siwei Xiao Qiang Fu Jingjing Zou Caiyun Wang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 5
CPTA treatment reveals potential transcription factors associated with carotenoid metabolism in flowers of Osmanthus fragrans显示文摘Osmanthus fragrans is one of the top ten traditional flowers in China. It is divided into three different groups according to its color.α-Carotene and β-carotene are the main determinants to distinguish the color differences between three groups. However, the dominant genes and transcription factors involved in carotenoid metabolism remain unclear.CPTA treatment(0.7mmol·L−1)remarkably promoted lycopene,α-carotene and β-carotene contents in flowers.Transcriptome sequencing analysis revealed that CPTA treatment could trigger chain reactions in carotenoid metabolism pathway genes.Four up-regulated and 10 down-regulated transcription factors which have close association with carotenoid variation were significantly induced by CPTA treatment. The up-regulated TFs such as MYB43,MYB123,HSF,were further subjected to transcript expression determination in different cultivars with drastic colors.Among them, transcript expression of four up-regulated TFs coincided with the carotenoid accumulation in different cultivars. We selected up-regulated OfMYB43 to verify its function, which is related to stress tolerance and transcriptional regulation.Transient overexpression of OfMYB43 in O.fragrans flowers showed that it could remarkably promote the expression of PDS,ZISO,LCYE and CCD4,leading to increased accumulation of β-branch carotenoids.OfMYB43 was a potential positive regulator of carotenoid biosynthesis in O.fragrans flowers. This study provides insight into the molecular mechanism of carotenoid metabolism in O.fragrans. | Wan Xi Yanhong He Linlin Zhu Shiyang Hu Shuyi Xiong Yi Zhang Jingjing Zou Hongguo Chen Caiyun Wang Riru Zheng | 2021 | Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,5: | 3
Theory of high-density low-cross-talk waveguide superlattices显示文摘Waveguide superlattices, a special type of waveguide arrays, can be designed to achieve very low cross talk at submicrometer/subwavelength pitches. The theoretical framework and design rationales for such waveguide superlattices will be presented in depth. Waveguide sidewall roughness can help to deter the coherent coupling between identical waveguides in nearby supercells, but it also induces random fluctuation of transmission.Statistical behavior of the transmission due to roughness in a waveguide superlattice is systematically treated.Complex transmission characteristics due to spectral oscillation and random roughness will be presented, and their evolution with the superlattice length will be analyzed. | Nan Yang Huashan Yang Hengrun Hu Rui Zhu Shining Chen Hongguo Zhang Wei Jiang | 2016 | Photonics Research2016,4,6: | 2
Oblique extension of pre-existing structures and its control on oil accumulation in eastern Bohai Sea显示文摘Based on 3D seismic data, the evolution mechanism and characteristics of faults were investigated to reveal the structural origin and its control on differential hydrocarbon accumulation through comprehensive analyses, including structure style analysis, fault activity analysis, analogue modelling and comparison among the wells. The complex fault system with differently trending faults resulted from strike-slip and rifting in Paleogene was partly activated, developed successively and stretched obliquely by the near-NS extensional stress field in Neogene. In the area little affected by pre-existing faults, new faults nearly perpendicular to the extension direction developed. The structural development in the study area was not caused by transpressional strike slip. Under the oblique extension effect of pre-existing faults, if the angle between the strike of pre-existing fault and the extensional direction is different, the strike-slip and extensional stresses are different in ratio. The larger the angle between the two is, the stronger the extensional component, the poorer the sealing ability of the fault, and the stronger the oil and gas migration capacity will be. Conversely, the smaller the angle between the two is, the stronger the strike-slip component, the better the sealing ability of the fault, and the poorer the oil and gas migration capacity will be. The accumulation condition analysis results considering the fault trend are in good agreement with the oil and gas shows in wells drilled in this area. | REN Jian LYU Dingyou CHEN Xingpeng LIU Pengbo GUAN Dayong SU Kai ZHANG Hongguo | 2019 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2019,46,3: | 0
