1GPSPiChain-Blockchain and AI based Self-Contained Anomaly Detection Family Security System in Smart Home显示文摘With advancements in technology, personal computing devices are better adapted for and further integrated into people’s lives and homes. The integration of technology into society also results in an increasing desire to control who and what has access to sensitive information, especially for vulnerable people including children and the elderly. With blockchain rise as a technology that can revolutionize the world, it is now possible to have an immutable audit trail of locational data over time. By controlling the process through inexpensive equipment in the home, it is possible to control whom has access to such personal data. This paper presents a block-chain based family security system for outdoor tracking and in-house monitoring of users’ activities via sensors to detect anomalies in users’ daily activities with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). For outdoor tracking the locations of the consenting family members’ smart phones are logged and stored in a private blockchain which can be accessed through a node installed in the family home on a computer. The data for the whereabouts and daily activities of family members stays securely within the family unit and does not go to any third-party organizations. A Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) based smart contract is used for anomaly detection in users’ daily activities in a smart home, which notifies emergency contact or other family members in case of anomaly detection. The approach described in this paper contributes to the development of in-house data processing for outdoor tracking, and daily activities monitoring and prediction without any third-party hardware or software. The system is implemented at a small scale with one miner, two user nodes and several device nodes, as a proof of concept;the technical feasibility is discussed along with the limitations of the system. 16Enhancement of Au–Ag–Te contents in tellurium-bearing ore minerals via bioleaching显示文摘The purpose of this study was to enhance the content of valuable metals, such as Au, Ag, and Te, in tellurium-bearing minerals via bioleaching. The ore samples composed of invisible Au and Au paragenesis minerals(such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena) in combination with tellurium-bearing minerals(hessite, sylvanite and Tellurobismuthite) were studied. Indigenous microbes from mine drainage were isolated and identified as Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, which were used in bioleaching after adaption to copper. The effect of the microbial adaption on the bioleaching performance was then compared with the results produced by the non-adaptive process. The microbial adaption enhanced the Au–Ag–Te contents in biological leaching of tellurium-bearing ore minerals. 19Genome-wide association of 10 horticultural traits with expressed sequence tag-derived SNP markers in a collection of lettuce lines显示文摘Genetic diversity, population structure, and genome-wide marker-trait association analyses were conducted on a special collection of 298 homozygous lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.) lines. Each of these lines was derived from a single plant that had been genotyped with 384 SNP markers using LSGermOPA. They included 122 butterhead, 53 romaine, 63 crisphead, 53 leaf and 7 stem types. Genetic diversity among these plants was assessed by pairwise comparison based on 322 high-quality SNP markers selected from 384 SNPs. Only 258 unique genotypes were identified among the 298 lines because 26 pairs or small groups(a total of 66 lines) shared identical genotypes. The average genetic similarity coefficient(GS) among these unique genotypes was 63.9% with a range of 40.6% to 99.8%. A phylogenetic tree was constructed based on the genotypic data. The most likely number of populations was estimated to be two or six. Association analysis between the 322 SNP markers and 10 phenotypic traits using the 258 homozygous lines was performed by three different methods: single factor analysis, general linear model analysis, and mixed linear model analysis. Nine significant marker-trait associations(SMTAs) were detected at P < 0.0001 with all three methods and also when considering kinship and/or population structure for this collection, with five SMTAs for seed coat color, one for leaf undulation, two for leaf anthocyanin, and one for stem anthocyanin. 20AKT regulates IL-1β-induced proliferation and activation of hepatic stellate cells显示文摘Background:Activated hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)are closely involved in the initiation,perpetuation,and resolution of liver fibrosis.Pro-inflammatory cytokine levels are positively correlated with the transition from liver injury to fibrogenesis and contribute to HSC pathophysiology in liver fibrosis.Methods:In this study,we investigated the effect of the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin(IL)-1βon the proliferation and signaling pathways involved in fibrogenesis in LX-2 cells,an HSC cell line,using western blotting and cell proliferation assays.Results:IL-1βincreased the proliferation rate andα-smooth muscle actin(SMA)expression of LX-2 cells in a dose-dependent manner.Within 1 h after IL-1βtreatment,c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK),p38,and nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling was activated in LX-2 cells.Subsequently,protein kinase B(AKT)phosphorylation and an increase inα-SMA expression were observed in LX-2 cells.Each inhibitor of JNK,p38,or NF-κB decreased cell proliferation,AKT phosphorylation,andα-SMA expression in IL-1β-treated LX-2 cells.Conclusion:These results indicate that JNK,p38,and NF-κB signals converge at AKT phosphorylation,leading to LX-2 activation by IL-1β.Therefore,the AKT signaling pathway can be used as a target for alleviating liver fibrosis by the inflammatory cytokine IL-1β.YONGDAE YOON SOONJAE HWANG FATEMA TUJ SAIMA MOON YOUNG KIM SOON KOO BAIK YOUNG WOO EOM 2023BIOCELL2023,47,3:0
