| 2 | hENT1 expression is predictive of gemcitabine outcome in pancreatic cancer: A systematic review显示文摘High human equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1(hENT1)-expression has shown a survival benefit in pancreatic cancer patients treated with gemcitabine in several studies.The aim of this systematic review was to summarize the results and try to assess the predictive value of hENT1 for determining gemcitabine outcome in pancreatic cancer.Relevant articles were obtained from PubMed,Embase and Cochrane databases.Studies evaluating hENT1-expression in pancreatic tumor cells from patients treated with gemcitabine were selected.Outcome measures were overall survival,disease-free survival(DFS),toxicity and response rate.The database searches identified 10 studies that met the eligibility criteria,and a total of 855 patients were included.Nine of 10 studies showed a statistically significant longer overall survival in univariate analyses in patients with high hENT1-expression compared to those with low expression.In the 7 studies that reported DFS as an outcome measure,6 had statistically longer DFS in the high hENT1 groups.Both toxicity and response rate were reported in only 2 articles and it was therefore hard to draw any major conclusions.This review provides evidence that hENT1 is a predictive marker for pancreatic cancer patients treated with gemcitabine.Some limitations of the review have to be taken into consideration,the majority of the included studies had a retrospective design,and there was no standardized scoring protocol for hENT1-expression. | Stina Nordh Daniel Ansari Roland Andersson | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,26: | 7 |
| 3 | The Rise of Supplementary Education in Sweden:Arguments,Thought Styles,and Policy Enactment显示文摘Purpose:This article focuses on the development of supplementary education,evolving under the label“homework support,”in Sweden between 2006 and 2018.Particular attention is paid to the significance of the private market for national policy.Design/Approach/Methods:Through a theoretical model on policy enactment,the interaction between national policy and local practice is highlighted.By analyzing how the local practice appears in documents related to state-regulated decision-making,the study gains further insights in the development of homework support in Sweden.Findings:This article argues that when private companies,offering supplementary tutoring,were established on the outskirts of the educational landscape in Sweden,the political educational discourse changed.Even though homework support became a given part of the political discussion about the school,the situation became difficult for private companies.Originality/Value:The article adds to the international field of shadow education.It describes the establishment of the private tutoring market’s entry into the Swedish educational landscape,which in the long term has provided a basis for a further Scandinavian development.Furthermore,the article contributes to theory development by a model that focuses on the interaction between policy formulation and local enactment. | Stina Hallsen | 2021 | ECNU Review of Education2021,4,3: | 4 |

| 17 | SPECT imaging of distribution and retention of a brain-penetrating bispecific amyloid-β antibody in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Background:Alzheimer's disease(AD)immunotherapy with antibodies targeting amyloid-B(AB)has been extensively explored in clinical trials.The aim of this study was to study the long-term brain distribution of two radiolabeled monoclonal Aβ antibody variants-RmAb158,the recombinant murine version of BAN2401,which has recently demonstrated amyloid removal and reduced cognitive decline in AD patients,and the bispecific RmAb158-scFv8D3,which has been engineered for enhanced brain uptake via transferrin receptor-mediated transcytosis.Methods:A single intravenous injection of iodine-125(251)-labeled RmAb158-scFv8D3 or RmAb158 was administered to AD transgenic mice(tg-ArcSwe).In vivo single photon emission computed tomography was used to investigate brain retention and intrabrain distribution of the antibodies over a period of 4 weeks.Activity in blood and brain tissue was measured ex vivo and autoradiography was performed in combination with Aβand CD31 immunostaining to investigate the intrabrain distribution of the antibodies and their interactions with AB.Results:Despite faster blood clearance,[125]RmAb158-scFv8D3 displayed higher brain exposure than[25]RmAb158 throughout the study.The brain distribution of[l25]RmAb158-scFv8D3 was more uniform and coincided with parenchymal Aβ pathology,while[2 I]RmAb158 displayed a more scattered distribution pattern and accumulated in central parts of the brain at later times.Ex vivo autoradiography indicated greater vascular escape and parenchymal Aβ interactions for[25]RmAb158-scFv8D3,whereas[25]RmAb158 displayed retention and Aβ interactions in lateral ventricles.Conclusions:The high brain uptake and uniform intrabrain distribution of RmAb158-scFv8D3 highlight the benefits of receptor-mediated transcytosis for antibody-based brain imaging.Moreover,it suggests that the alternative transport route of the bispecific antibody contributes to improved efficacy of brain-directed immunotherapy. | Tobias Gustavsson Stina Syvänen Paul O'Callaghan Dag Sehlin | 2020 | Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,3: | 1 |

| 19 | Morphology of living cells cultured on nanowire arrays with varying nanowire densities and diameters显示文摘Vertical nanowire arrays are increasingly investigated for their applications in steering cell behavior. The geometry of the array is an important parameter, which influences the morphology and adhesion of cells. Here, we investigate the effects of array geometry on the morphology of MCF7 cancer cells and MCF10 A normal-like epithelial cells. Different gallium phosphide nanowire array-geometries were produced by varying the nanowire density and diameter. Our results show that the cell size is smaller on nanowires compared to flat gallium phosphide. The cell area decreases with increasing the nanowire density on the substrate. We observed an effect of the nanowire diameter on MCF10 A cells, with a decreased cell area on 40 nm diameter nanowires, compared to 60 and 80 nm diameter nanowires in high-density arrays. The focal adhesion morphology depends on the extent to which cells are contacting the substrate. For low nanowire densities and diameters, cells are lying on the substrate and we observed large focal adhesions at the cell edges. In contrast, for high nanowire densities and diameters, cells are lying on top of the nanowires and we observed point-like focal adhesions distributed over the whole cell.
