1Effect of electrolysis voltage on electrochemical reduction of titanium oxide to titanium in molten calcium chloride显示文摘The electrochemical reduction of solid TiO2 directly to solid metal is a promising alternative to the current Kroll process. The present work is aimed at studying the effect of electrolysis voltage on the rate of electrochemical reduction. The products of electrochemical reduction of TiO2 and Ti2O were examined using the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The results show that Ti2O was reduced to low valent titanium oxide at 1.5-1.7 V, which was the result of ionization of oxygen. TiO2 and Ti2O were reduced to titanium metal at 2.1-3.1 V, which was the co-action of ionization of oxygen and calciothermic reduction. The oxygen content decreased rapidly with voltage increas-ing from 2.1 to 2.6 V, while it changed little from 2.6 to 3.1 V. 2AaMYB3 interacts with AabHLH1 to regulate proanthocyanidin accumulation in Anthurium andraeanum(Hort.)—another strategy to modulate pigmentation显示文摘Proanthocyanidins(PAs),also known as“condensed tannins”,are colorless metabolites produced through the flavonoid pathway that are involved in stress resistance in plants.Because PAs are involved in the anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway,they play a role in the modification of pigmentation conferred by anthocyanins in ornamental organs.In this study,we isolated the gene and functionally characterized an R2R3-MYB transcription factor(TF),AaMYB3,and a basic helix-loop-helix TF,AabHLH1,from Anthurium andraeanum(Hort.),a typical tropical flower.AaMYB3 is primarily expressed in the spathe and negatively correlates with anthocyanin accumulation.A complementation test in an Arabidopsis tt8 mutant showed that AabHLH1 successfully restores the PA-deficient seed coat phenotype.The ectopic overexpression of AaMYB3 alone or its coexpression with AabHLH1 in transgenic tobacco resulted in light pink or even pale-pink corolla limbs by reducing their anthocyanin levels and greatly enhancing their accumulation of PAs.This overexpression of the anthurium TF genes upregulated the late anthocyanin enzymeencoding genes(NtDFR and NtANS)and the key PA genes(NtLAR and NtANR)in transgenic tobacco.The interaction between AaMYB3 and the AabHLH1 protein was confirmed using yeast two-hybrid(Y2H)and bimolecular fluorescence complementation(BiFC)assays.In the developing red spathes of the cultivars“Vitara”and“Tropical”,the expression of AaMYB3 was closely linked to PA accumulation,and AaMYB3 was coexpressed with AaCHS,AaF3H,AaDFR,AaANS,AaLAR,and AaANR.The expression pattern of AabHLH1 was similar to that of AaF3′H.Our results suggest that AaMYB3 and AabHLH1 are involved in the regulation of PA biosynthesis in anthurium and could potentially be used to metabolically engineer PA biosynthesis in plants.Chonghui Li Jian Qiu Surong Huang Junmei Yin Guangsui Yang 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:6

4Prevalence and Phylogenetic Analysis of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus in Ticks from Different Ecosystems in Xinjiang,China显示文摘The Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus(CCHFV),a member of the genus Orthonairovirus and family Nairoviridae,is transmitted by ticks and causes severe hemorrhagic disease in humans.To study the epidemiology of CCHFV in different ecosystems in Xinjiang,China,a total of 58,932 ticks were collected from Tarim Basin,Junggar Basin,Tianshan Mountain,and Altai Mountain from 2014 to 2017.Hyalomma asiaticum asiaticum was the dominant tick species in Tarim and Junggar basins,whereas Dermacentor nuttalli and Hyalomma detritum were found in Tianshan Mountain and Altai Mountain,respectively.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction of the CCHFV small(S)genome segment was used for the molecular detection.The CCHFV-positive percentage was 5.26%,6.85%,1.94%,and 5.56% in Tarim Basin,Junggar Basin,Tianshan Mountain,and Altai Mountain,respectively.Sequences of the S segment were used for phylogenetic analysis and the results showed that the newly identified CCHFV strains belonged to two clades.Our study confirms that H.asiaticum asiaticum is the major vector of CCHFV in desert habitats which is consistent with previous studies,and also suggests that H.detritum and D.nuttalli are emerging vectors for CCHFV in Xinjiang.Moreover,this study reports the presence of CCHFV in the mountain habitat of Xinjiang for the first time,suggesting that future surveillance of CCHFV should also include mountainous areas.Abulimiti Moming Xihong Yue Shu Shen Chenchen Chang Cheng Wang Tao Luo Yanfang Zhang Rong Guo Zhihong Hu Yujiang Zhang Fei Deng Surong Sun 2018Virologica Sinica2018,33,1:5
5Differential expression analysis and regulatory network reconstruction for genes associated with muscle growth and adipose deposition in obese and lean pigs显示文摘During the growth and development of skeletal muscle cells and adipose cells, the regulatory mechanism of micro-effect polygenes determines porcine meat quality, carcass characteristics and other relative quantitative traits. Obese and lean type pig breeds show obvi- ous differences in muscle growth and adipose deposition; however, the molecular mechanism underlying this phenotypic variation remains unknown. We used pathway-focused oligo microarray studies to examine the expression changes of 140 genes associated with muscle growth and adipose deposition in longissimus dorsi muscle at six growth stages (birth, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 months) of Landrace (a leaner, Western breed) and Taihu pigs (a fatty, indigenous, Chinese breed). Variance analysis (ANOVA) revealed that differences in the expression of 18 genes in Landrace pigs and three genes in Taihu pigs were very significant (FDR-adjusted permutation, P < 0.01) and di?erences for 22 genes in Landrace pigs and seven genes in Taihu pigs were significant (FDR-adjusted permutation, P < 0.05) among six growth stages. Clustering analysis revealed a high level of signi?cance (FDR-adjusted, P < 0.01) for four gene expression patterns, in which genes that strongly up-regulated were mainly associated with the positive regulation of myofiber formation and fatty acid biogenesis and genes that strongly down-regulated were mainly associated with the inhibition of cell proliferation and positive regulation of fatty acid b-oxidation. Based on a dynamic Bayesian network (DBN) model, gene regulatory networks (GRNs) were reconstructed from time-series data for each pig breed. These two GRNs initially revealed the distinct differences in physiological and biochemical aspects of muscle growth and adipose deposition between the two pig breeds; from these results, some potential key genes could be identified. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR (QRT-PCR) was used to verify the microarray data for five modulated genes, and a good correlation between the two measures of expression was observed for both two pig breeds at different growth stages (r = 0.876 ± 0.095). 6Molecular cloning of human heat shock protein 27 and study of its protective effects on oxidative damage in rat cardiomyocte H9c2显示文摘Objective: To clone human cardiac heat shock protein 27(HSP27) gene and to determine the effects of HSP27 on the oxidative stress in rat cardiomyocyte cell line H9c2. Methods: Full length of HSP27 cDNA which got by RT-PCR was constructed into pCDNA3.1+. The recombinant was transfected into rat cardiomyocyte cell line H9c2 and the stable transfection cell line was selected by G418. Then we observe the effects of HSP27 over-expression on LDH release and apoptosis induced H2O2 in H9c2. Results:①pCDNA3.1+/HSP27 provided a sound expression of HSP27 in both 293T and H9c2. ②LDH releasing induced by 0, 100,250,500,1000 μmol/L H2O2 in HSP27 over-expression group and wild type group were 0.396±0.017 vs. 0.390±0.009 (p>0.05), 0.437±0.014 vs. 0.416±0.015 (P<0.05), 0.471±0.018 vs. 0.417±0.009 (P<0.001), 0.505±0.030 vs. 0.657±0.022(P<0.001),0.547±0.027 and 0.661±0.011(P<0.001),respectively. ③Apoptosis induced by 150 μmol/L H2O2 in HSP27 over-expression group and wild type group were (10.693±1.122)% vs. (4.027±1.628)%(P<0.01). 7Structural changes in pyramidal cell dendrites and synapses in the unaffected side of the sensorimotor cortex following transcranial magnetic stimulation and rehabilitation training in a rat model of focal cerebral infarct显示文摘Very little is known about the effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation and rehabilitation training on pyramidal cell dendrites and synapses of the contralateral,unaffected sensorimotor cortex in a rat model of focal cerebral infarct.The present study was designed to explore the mechanisms underlying improved motor function via transcranial magnetic stimulation and rehabilitation training following cerebral infarction.Results showed that rehabilitation training or transcranial magnetic stimulation alone reduced neurological impairment in rats following cerebral infarction,as well as significantly increased synaptic curvatures and post-synaptic density in the non-injured cerebral hemisphere sensorimotor cortex and narrowed the synapse cleft width.In addition,the percentage of perforated synapses increased.The combination of transcranial magnetic stimulation and rehabilitation resulted in significantly increased total dendritic length,dendritic branching points,and dendritic density in layer V pyramidal cells of the non-injured cerebral hemisphere motor cortex.These results demonstrated that transcranial magnetic stimulation and rehabilitation training altered structural parameters of pyramidal cell dendrites and synapses in the non-injured cerebral hemisphere sensorimotor cortex,thereby improving the ability to compensate for neurological functions in rats following cerebral infarction.Chuanyu Liu Surong Zhou Xuwen Sun Zhuli Liu Hongliang Wu Yuanwu Mei 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,9:2
8Short-term and imminent geomagnetic anomalies of the Wenchuan M_S8.0 earthquake and exploration on earthquake forecast显示文摘The diurnal variation of the geomagnetic vertical component is exhibited mainly by changes of phase and amplitude before strong earthquakes.Based on data recorded by the network of geomagnetic observatories in China for many years, the anomalous features of the appearance time of the minima of diurnal variations(i.e, low-point time) of the geomagnetic vertical components and the variation of their spatial distribution(i.e, phenomena of low-point displacement) have been studied before the Wenchuan MS8.0 earthquake.The strong aftershocks after two months' quiescence of M6 aftershocks of the MS8.0 event were forecasted based on these studies.There are good correlativities between these geomagnetic anoma-lies and occurrences of earthquakes.It has been found that most earthquakes occur near the boundary line of sudden changes of the low-point time and generally within four days before or after the 27th or 41st day counting from the day of the appearance of the anomaly.In addition, the imminent anomalies in diurnal-variation amplitudes near the epicentral areas have also been studied before the Wenchuan earthquake.Wuxing Wang Jianhai Ding Surong Yu Yongxian Zhang 2009Earthquake Science2009,22,2:2
