HPLC was used for the component analysis of the polysaccharide. The results indicate that Physalis alkekengi L. polysaccharide(PAP) was composed of rhamnose, xylose, arabinose, galactose, and glucose. Free radicals scavenging activity of PAP was studied through 3 free radicals scavenging tests. PAP exhibited high scavenging effects on OH and DPPH radicals, and both the scavenging rates were about 80%. To map FP1 locus, an F2 mapping population was derived from a cross between the fp1 and C-bao, a polymorphic japonic variety. The primary mapping result places the FP1 locus in an interval between two molecular markers, microsatellite marker RM16 (3.1 cM proximal to FP1) and STS marker G144a (9.1 cM distal to FP1) in the centromere region of chromosome 3. A CAPS marker C524a was further developed between RM16 and G144a, with 0.4 cM genetic distances to the FP1 locus, providing a practical starting point for constructing a BAC con-tig spanning the FP1 locus and cloning the fp1 gene. | 6 | Effects of nano-HMX on the properties of RDX-CMDB propellant:Higher energy and lower sensitivity显示文摘Batch preparation of nano-HMX was achieved via a mechanical trituration method. The morphology and particle size of nano-HMX and raw RDX were characterized using SEM. Then nano-HMX was used in a formulation of composite modified double base propellant containing RDX. The method is to use nanoHMX to replace the RDX in the formulation by 10% gradually with the total mass content of RDX and HMX unchanged. The burning rate, mechanical sensitivity and mechanical property of propellant strands with different mass content of nano-HMX were tested. The results indicate that the 30% content of nanoHMX has the best comprehensive performance which can be used as an improvement of the existing formula. | 8 | Re-evaluating Transarterial Chemoembolization Failure/Refractoriness:A Survey by Chinese College of Interventionalists显示文摘Background and Aims:The recognition of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)failure/refractoriness among Chinese clinicians remains unclear.Using an online survey conducted by the Chinese College of Interventionalists(CCI),the aim of this study was to explore the recognition of TACE failure/refractoriness and review TACE application for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)treatment in clinical practice.Methods:From 27 August 2020 to 30 August 2020 during the CCI 2020 annual meeting,a survey with 34 questions was sent by email to 264 CCI clinicians in China with more than 10 years of experience using TACE for HCC treatment.Results:A total of 257 clinicians participated and responded to the survey.Most participants agreed that the concept of“TACE failure/refractoriness”has scientific and clinical significance(n=191,74.3%).Nearly half of these participants chose TACE-based combination treatment as subsequent therapy after so-called TACE failure/refractoriness(n=88,46.1%).None of the existing TACE failure/refractoriness definitions were widely accepted by the participants;thus,it is necessary to re-define this concept for the treatment of HCC in China(n=235,91.4%).Most participants agreed that continuing TACE should be performed for patients with preserved liver function,presenting portal vein tumor thrombosis(n=242,94.2%)or extrahepatic spread(n=253,98.4%),after the previous TACE treatment to control intrahepatic lesion(s).Conclusions:There is an obvious difference in the recognition of TACE failure/refractoriness among Chinese clinicians based on existing definitions.Further work should be carried out to re-define TACE failure/refractoriness. | Bin-Yan Zhong Wan-Sheng Wang Shen Zhang Hai-Dong Zhu Lei Zhang Jian Shen Xiao-Li Zhu Gao-Jun Teng Cai-Fang Ni | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,4: | 9 |
| 9 | Design and application of structural health monitoring system in long-span cable-membrane structure显示文摘Cable-membrane structures have small rigidity and are highly sensitive to wind. Structural health monitoring is necessary to ensure the serviceability and safety of the structure. In this research, the design method of a structural health monitoring system is using the characteristics of a cable-membrane structure. Taking the Yueyang Sanhe Airport Terminal as an example, a finite element model is established to determine the critical structural components. Next, the engineering requirements and the framework of the monitoring system are studied based on the results of numerical analysis. The specific implementation of the structural health monitoring is then carried out, which includes sensor selection, installation and wiring. The proposed framework is successfully applied to the monitoring system for the Yueyang Airport terminal building, and the synchronous acquisition of fiber Bragg grating and acceleration sensor signals is implemented in an innovative way. | 10 | Identification and characterization of Argonaute gene family and meiosis-enriched Argonaute during sporogenesis in maize显示文摘Argonaute(AGO) proteins play a key role in regulation of gene expression through small RNA‐directed RNA cleavage and translational repression, and are essential for multiple developmental processes. In the present study, 17 AGO genes of maize(Zea mays L., ZmAGOs) were identified using a Hidden Markov Model and validated by rapid amplification of cDNA ends assay. Subsequently, quantitative PCR revealed that expressions of these genes were higher in reproductive than in vegetative tissues. AGOs presented five temporal and spatial expression patterns, which were likely modulated by DNA methylation, 50‐untranslated exons and microRNA‐mediated feedback loops. Intriguingly, ZmAGO18 b was highly expressed in tassels during meiosis. Furthermore, in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence showed that ZmAResearchGO18b was enriched in the tapetum and germ cells in meiotic anthers. | 12 | Association of serum levels of perfluoroalkyl substances with gestational diabetes mellitus and postpartum blood glucose显示文摘This study was conducted to examine the association of perfluoroalkyl substance(PFAS)exposure with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) risk and postpartum fasting blood glucose.We used a 1:2 matched case–control study with 84 GDM subjects and 168 healthy pregnant women from Beijing, China. The maternal blood was collected at 1–2 days before delivery, and eight linear isomers and fourteen branched isomers were determined in maternal serum.Logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the associations after adjusting for potential confounders. The median of the sum of levels of total PFASs was 4.24 ng/m L with a interquartile range(IQR) of 2.82–6.54 ng/m L. Although maternal PFAS exposure was not associated with risk of GDM, significant positive associations were observed between evaluated exposure to specific PFAS congeners and increasing blood glucose. | 13 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Opti-cal microscopy and SEM were used to examine the microstructure and fracture surface of the specimens. The mechanical testing results demonstrated that the low cycle fatigue property of DZ40M significantly decreased with the partial recrystallization. Fatigue cracks initiate near the carbides and the grain boundaries with slip-bands. | 15 | Effects of water regime, crop residues, and application rates on control of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense显示文摘Biological soil disinfestation is an effective method to control soil-borne disease by flooding and incorporating with organic amendments, but field conditions and resources sometimes limited its practical application. A laboratory experiment was conducted to develop practice guidelines on controlling Fusarium wilt, a widespread banana disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense(FOC). FOC infested soil incorporated with rice or maize straw at rates of 1.5 tons/ha and 3.0 tons/ha was incubated under flooded or water-saturated(100% water holding capacity) conditions at 30℃ for 30 days. Results showed that FOC populations in the soils incorporated with either rice or maize straw rapidly reduced more than 90% in the first 15 days and then fluctuated till the end of incubation, while flooding alone without organic amendment reduced FOC populations slightly. The rapid and dramatic decrease of redox potential(down to- 350 m V) in straw-amended treatments implied that both anaerobic condition and strongly reductive soil condition would contribute to pathogen inactivation. Water-saturation combined with straw amendments had the comparable effects on reduction of FOC, indicating that flooding was not indispensable for inactivating FOC. There was no significant difference in the reduction of FOC observed in the straw amendments at between 1.5 and 3 tons/ha. | 16 | Allelochemical p-hydroxybenzoic acid inhibits root growth via regulating ROS accumulation in cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.)显示文摘Allelopathy is prevalent in agricultural ecosystems and mediated by plant-derived secondary metabolites(allelochemicals).Allelochemicals are released by donor plants and affect the root growth and development of receptor plants.Allelopathy is responsible for the continuous cropping obstacles in cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.).p-Hydroxybenzoic acid(pHBA),an autotoxin from root exudates of cucumber,has been proposed to be an important allelopathic chemical.However,the molecular mechanism by which pHBA affect root growth and development in cucumber is unknown.Here,we found that pHBA treatment suppressed root growth of cucumber by reducing the meristem activity and cell length.This root growth defect is caused by reduced reactive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation in root tips.After pHBA treatment,the expression levels of several ROS-scavenging-related genes were increased,including peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT)and metallothionein(MT).Moreover,exogenously application of salicylhydroxamate(SHAM),a peroxidase inhibitor,can partially restore the pHBA treatment induced root growth inhibition.Furthermore,we found that there is natural variation for the inhibitory effect of pHBA on root growth.We also showed that pHBA treatment could maintain higher level of ROS accumulated in the pHBA less sensitive cucumber than that in the pHBA-sensitive cucumber.These results suggest that pHBA inhibits root growth by reducing root tip ROS level in cucumber. | HUANG Cheng-zhen XU Lei Sun Jin-jing ZHANG Zhong-hua FU Mei-lan TENG Hui-ying YI Ke-ke | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,2: | 8 |
| 17 | Confined van der Waals Epitaxial Growth of Two-Dimensional Large Single-Crystal In_(2)Se_(3) for Flexible Broadband Photodetectors显示文摘The controllable growth of two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors with large domain sizes and high quality is much needed in order to reduce the detrimental efect of grain boundaries on device performance but has proven to be challenging.Here,we analyze the precursor concentration on the substrate surface which signifcantly infuences nucleation density in a vapor deposition growth process and design a confned micro-reactor to grow 2D In_(2)Se_(3) with large domain sizes and high quality.Te uniqueness of this confned micro-reactor is that its size is∼102-103 times smaller than that of a conventional reactor.Such a remarkably small reactor causes a very low precursor concentration on the substrate surface,which reduces nucleation density and leads to the growth of 2D In_(2)Se_(3) grains with sizes larger than 200�m.Our experimental results show large domain sizes of the 2D In_(2)Se_(3) with high crystallinity.Te fexible broadband photodetectors based on the as-grown In_(2)Se_(3) show rise and decay times of 140 ms and 25 ms,efcient response(5.6 A/W),excellent detectivity(7×10^(10) Jones),high external quantum efciency(251%),good fexibility,and high stability.Tis study,in principle,provides an efective strategy for the controllable growth of high quality 2D materials with few grain boundaries. | Lei Tang Changjiu Teng Yuting Luo Usman Khan Haiyang Pan Zhengyang Cai Yue Zhao Bilu Liu Hui-Ming Cheng | 2019 | Research2019,,1: | 7 |

| 19 | Anti-hyperglycemic effects of dihydromyricetin in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats显示文摘Dihydromyricetin(DHM),as a bioactive flavanonol compound,is mainly found in“Tengcha”(Ampelopsis grossedentata)cultivated in south of China.This study aimed to investigate the anti-hyperglycemic and antidyslipidemic activities of DHM using type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2D)rats,which was induced by feeding with high fat and fructose diet for 42 days and intraperitoneal administration of streptozocin.Forty-eight freshlyweaned rats were randomly assigned into the negative control(Blank),low dose(100 mg/kg),medium dose(200 mg/kg),high dose(400 mg/kg),and positive(40 mg/kg,met)groups.Fasting blood glucose and body weight were measured at weekly interval.Oral glucose tolerance tests were performed on days 42.The results revealed that DHM possessed significant antihyperglycaemic and antihyperinsulinemic effects.Moreover,after the DHM treatment,p-Akt and p-AMPK expression was upregulated,and glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)expression was downregulated,indicating that the potential anti-diabetic mechanism of DHM might be due to the regulation of the AMPK/Akt/GSK-3βsignaling pathway. | Maojun Yao Hui Teng Qiyan Lv Huifang Gao Tengming Guo Yiwen Lin Sihai Gao Meihu Ma Lei Chen | 2021 | Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,2: | 6 |
| 20 | Verification of Numerical Modeling in 2-D Wave Propagation in Rock显示文摘Compressional harmonic wave propagation from a cylindrical tunnel or borehole in an intact rock is the basis for investigation of the practical explosion waves in a fractured rock mass. The amplitudes of the radial stress wave obtained from the universal distinct element code (UDEC) were compared with the analytical solutions for two cases with different conditions. Good agreements between the UDEC results and the analytical solutions have been achieved.
