1Plasmonic Au nanoparticles supported on both sides of Ti02 hollow spheres for maximising photocatalytic activity under visible light显示文摘A strategy of intensifying the visible light harvesting ability of anatase Ti02 hollow spheres(HSs)was developed,in which both sides of Ti02 HSs were utilised for stabilising Au nanoparticles(NPs)through the sacrificial templating method and convex surface-induced confinement.The composite structure of single Au NP yolk-Ti02 shell-Au NPs,denoted as Au@Au(Ti02,was rendered and confirmed by the transmission electron microscopy analysis.Au@Au(Ti02 showed enhanced photocatalytic activity in the degradation of methylene blue and phenol in aqueous phase under visible light surpassing that of other reference materials such as Au(Ti02 by 77%and Au@P25 by 52%,respectively,in phenol degradation.Jianwei Lu Lan Lan Xiaoteng Terence Liu Na Wang Xiaolei Fan 2019Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2019,13,4:5

10Passive wireless smart-skin sensor using RFID-based folded patch antennas显示文摘Folded patch antennas were investigated for the development of low-cost and wireless smart-skin sensors that monitor the strain in metallic structures.When the patch antenna is under strain/deformation,its resonance frequency varies accordingly.The variation can be easily interrogated and recorded by a wireless reader.The patch antenna adopts a specially chosen substrate material with low dielectric attenuation,as well as an inexpensive off-the-shelf radiofrequency identification(RFID)chip for signal modulation.Since the RFID chip harvests electromagnetic power from the interrogation signal emitted by the reader,the patch antenna itself does not require other(internal)power sources and,thus,serves as a battery-less(passive)and wireless strain sensor.In this preliminary investigation,a prototype folded patch antenna has been designed and manufactured.Tensile testing results show strong linearity between the interrogated resonance frequency and the strain experienced by the antenna.Through experiments,the strain sensing resolution is demonstrated to be under 50με,and the wireless interrogation distance is shown to be over a few feet for this preliminary prototype.Xiaohua Yi Terence Wu Yang Wang Roberto T.Leon Manos M.Tentzeris Gabriel Lantz 2011International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2011,2,1:0
