1Esophageal cancer:Epidemiology,risk factors and screening显示文摘More than 600,000 people are diagnosed with esophageal cancer(EC)every year globally,and the five-year survival rate of EC is less than 20%.Two common histological subtypes of EC,esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)and esophageal adenocarcinoma(EAC),have great geographical variations in incidence rates.About half of the world’s EC was diagnosed in China and a majority of which belong to ESCC.Globally,the overall incidence rate of EC is decreasing.In some high-risk Asian regions,such as China,the incidence rate of ESCC has generally declined,potentially due to economic growth and improvement of diet habits.In some European high-income countries and the United States,the decline is mainly attributed to the decrease in smoking and drinking.The risk factors of EC are not well understood,and the importance of environmental and genetic factors in the pathogenesis is also unclear.The incidence and mortality of advanced EC can be reduced through early diagnosis and screening.White light endoscopy is still the gold standard in the current screening technology.This article reviews the epidemiology,risk factors,and screening strategies of EC in recent years to help researchers determine the most effective management strategies to reduce the risk of EC.Jiang Li Jianguo Xu Yadi Zheng Ya Gao Siyi He He Li Kaiyong Zou Ni Li Jinhui Tian Wanqing Chen Jie He 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,5:12

3Nonlinear optical properties of graphene-based materials显示文摘Graphene,a two-dimensional carbon atom sheet,has attracted tremendous attention and research interest because of its exceptional physical properties.Graphene has high mobility and optical transparency,in addition to flexibility,robustness and environmental stability.The main focus so far has been on fundamental physics and electronic devices.However,because the linear dispersion of the Dirac electrons enables ultrawideband tunability,we believe its true potential lies in photonics and optoelectronics.In this review,we introduce recent advances in the nonlinear optical properties of graphene-based materials.The rise of graphene in nonlinear optics is shown by several recent results,ranging from saturable absorbers and the four-wave mixing effect to giant two-photon absorption,reverse saturable absorption and optical limiting.The relevant forms of the graphene-based materials include pure graphene,graphene oxide and graphene hybrids.LIU ZhiBo ZHANG XiaoLiang YAN XiaoQing CHEN YongSheng TIAN JianGuo 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,23:10
4Q-switched and mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser using PtSe2 as a saturable absorber显示文摘We report a passively Q-switched and mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL) based on PtSe_2, a new two-dimensional material, as a saturable absorber(SA). Self-started Q-switching at 1560 nm in the EDFL was achieved at a threshold pump power of 65 mW, and at the maximum pump power of 450 m W, the maximum single Q-switched pulse energy is 143.2 n J. Due to the polarization-dependent characteristics of the PtSe_2-based SA, the laser can be switched from the Q-switched state to the mode-locked state by adjusting the polarization state. A mode-locked pulse train with a repetition rate of 23.3 MHz and a pulse width of 1.02 ps can be generated when the pump power increases to about 80 m W, and the stable mode-locked state is maintained until the pump power reaches its maximum 450 m W. The maximum single mode-locked pulse energy is0.53 nJ. 7Controllable optical activity with non-chiral plasmonic metasurfaces显示文摘Optical activity is the rotation of the plane of linearly polarized light along the propagation direction as the light travels through optically active materials.In existing methods,the strength of the optical activity is determined by the chirality of the materials,which is difficult to control quantitatively.Here we numerically and experimentally investigated an alternative approach to realize and control the optical activity with non-chiral plasmonic metasurfaces.Through judicious design of the structural units of the metasurfaces,the right and left circular polarization components of the linearly polarized light have different phase retardations after transmitting through the metasurfaces,leading to large optical activity.Moreover,the strength of the optical activity can be easily and accurately tuned by directly adjusting the phase difference.The proposed approach based on non-chiral plasmonic metasurfaces exhibits large optical activity with a high controllable degree of freedom,which may provide more possibilities for applications in photonics.Ping Yu Jianxiong Li Chengchun Tang Hua Cheng Zhaocheng Liu Zhancheng Li Zhe Liu Changzhi Gu Junjie Li Shuqi Chen Jianguo Tian 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:8

9A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 10Changes of brain gray matter structure in Parkinson's disease patients with dementia显示文摘Voxel-based morphometry is gaining considerable interest for studies examining Parkinson's disease dementia patients.In this study,12 patients with clinically defined Parkinson's disease and dementia and 12 non-demented patients with Parkinson's disease were examined using a T1WI three-dimensional fast spoiled gradient echo sequence.Gray matter data were analyzed using a voxel-based morphometry method and independent sample t-test based on Statistical Parametric Mapping 5 software.Differences in gray matter volume were represented with statistical parametric mapping.Compared with Parkinson's disease patients without dementia,decreased gray matter volume in Parkinson's disease dementia patients was observed in the bilateral superior temporal gyrus,bilateral posterior cingulate and left cingulate gyrus,right parahippocampal gyrus and hippocampus,right precuneus and right cuneus,left inferior frontal gyrus and left insular lobe.No increased gray matter volume was apparent.These data indicate that gray matter atrophy in the limbic system and cerebral neocortex is related to the presence of dementia.Jianguo Xia Jinlin Miu Hongbin Ding Xiuping Wang Hua Chen Juan Wang Juan Wu Jingli Zhao Huanxin Huang Weizhong Tian 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,14:6

12Influence of SO_2 in incineration flue gas on the sequestration of CO_2 by municipal solid waste incinerator fly ash显示文摘The influence of CO2 content and presence of SO2 on the sequestration of CO2 by municipal solid waste incinerator(MSWI) fly ash was studied by investigating the carbonation reaction of MSWI fly ash with different combinations of simulated flue gas.The reaction between fly ash and 100% CO2 was relatively fast;the uptake of CO2 reached 87g CO2/kg ash,and the sequestered CO2 could be entirely released at high temperatures.When CO2 content was reduced to 12%,the reaction rate decreased;the uptake fell to 41g CO2/kg ash,and 70.7% of the sequestered CO2 could be released.With 12% CO2 in the presence of SO2,the reaction rate significantly decreased;the uptake was just 17g CO2/kg ash,and only 52.9% of the sequestered CO2 could be released.SO2 in the simulated gas restricted the ability of fly ash to sequester CO2 because it blocked the pores of the ash.Jianguo Jiang Sicong Tian Chang Zhang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,4:4

14Alleviating mechanical degradation of hexacyanoferrate via strain locking during Na^(+) insertion/extraction for full sodium ion battery显示文摘Generation of large strains upon Na^(+) intercalation is one of the prime concerns of the mechanical degradation of Prussian blue(PB)and its analogs.Structural construction from the atomic level is imperative to maintain structural stability and ameliorate the long-term stability of PB.Herein,an inter nickel hexacyanoferrate(NNiFCN)is successfully introduced at the out layer of iron hexacyanoferrate(NFFCN)through ion exchange to improve structural stability through compressive stress locking by forming NNiFCN shell.Furthermore,the kinetics of sodium ion diffusion is enhanced through the built-in electric pathway.The electrochemical performance is therefore significantly improved with a remarkable long-term cycling stability over 3,000 cycles at 500 mA·g^(–1) in the full sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)with a maximum energy density of 91.94 Wh·g^(–1),indicating that the core-shell structured NNiFCN/NFFCN could be the low-cost and high-performance cathode for full SIBs in large-scale EES applications.Jianguo Sun Hualin Ye Jin An Sam Oh Yao Sun Anna Plewa Yumei Wang Tian Wu Kaiyang Zeng Li Lu 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:3
15Design, Synthesis and Insecticidal Activities of Novel 5-Alkoxyfuran-5(H)-one Derivatives显示文摘A series of novel 5?alkoxyfuran-2(5H)-one derivatives was synthesized, and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. Biological activities of all the title compounds were evaluated systematically. Preliminary bioassays indicated that most of the compounds exhibited moderate insecticidal activities against Aphis craccivora and Nilaparvata lugens at 100 mg/L. Compounds 4h and 4w exhibited 100% mortality rate against Aphis craccivora at 100 mg/L, and compound 4h exhibited good mortality rate against Aphis craccivora and Nilaparvata lugens (60% and 75%, respectively) even at 4 mg/L. 19Nickel single atom overcoordinated active sites to accelerate the electrochemical reaction kinetics for Li-S cathode显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with high theoretical energy density are promising advanced energy storage devices.However,shuttling of dissolute lithium polysulfide(LiPSs)and sluggish conversion kinetics impede their applications.Herein,single nickel(Ni)atoms on two-dimensional(2D)nitrogen(N)-doped carbon with Ni-N_(4)-O overcoordinated structure(SANi-N_(4)-O/NC)are prepared and firstly used as a sulfur host of Li-S batteries.Due to the efficient polysulfides traps and highly LiPSs conversion effect of SANi-N_(4)-O/NC,the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries obviously improved.The batteries can well operate even under high sulfur loading(5.8 mg cm^(-2))and lean electrolyte(6.1μL mg^(-1))condition.Meanwhile,density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that Ni single atom’s active sites decrease the energy barriers of conversion reactions from Li_(2)S_(8)to Li2S due to the strong interaction between SANi-N_(4)-O/NC and LiPSs.Thus,the kinetic conversion of LiPSs was accelerated and the shuttle effect is suppressed on SANi-N_(4)-O/NC host.This study provides a new design strategy for a 2D structure with single-atom overcoordinated active sites to facilitate the fast kinetic conversion of LiPSs for Li-S cathode.Juan Zhu Xinyue Wang Tian Ke Mingji Jia Biyu Jin Yuanyuan Li Qiwei Yang Lanhui Ren Yongyuan Ren Dangguo Cheng Jianguo Lu Xiang Gao Qinggang He Yang Hou Xiaoli Zhan Qinghua Zhang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:2
