Physiological effects of weightlessness: countermeasure system development for a long-term Chinese manned spaceflight显示文摘The Chinese space station will be built around 2020. As a national space laboratory, it will offer unique opportunities for studying the physiological effects of weightlessness and the efficacy of the countermeasures against such effects. In this paper, we described the development of countermeasure systems in the Chinese space program. To emphasize the need of the Chinese space program to implement its own program for developing countermeasures, we reviewed the literature on the negative physiological effects of weightlessness, the challenges of completing missions, the development of countermeasure devices, the establishment of countermeasure programs, and the efficacy of the countermeasure techniques in American and Russian manned spaceflights. In addition, a brief overview was provided on the Chinese research and development on countermeasures to discuss the current status and goals of the development of countermeasures against physiological problems associated with weightlessness. | Linjie Wang Zhili Li Cheng Tan Shujuan Liu Jianfeng Zhang Siyang He Peng Zou Weibo Liu Yinghui Li | 2019 | Frontiers of Medicine2019,13,2: | 9
Ultrabroad Microwave Absorption Ability and Infrared Stealth Property of Nano-Micro CuS@rGO Lightweight Aerogels显示文摘Developing ultrabroad radar-infrared compatible stealth materials has turned into a research hotspot, which is still a problem to be solved.Herein, the copper sulfide wrapped by reduced graphene oxide to obtain three-dimensional(3D)porous network composite aerogels(CuS@rGO)were synthesized via thermal reduction ways(hydrothermal, ascorbic acid reduction)and freeze-drying strategy. It was discovered that the phase components(rGO and CuS phases)and micro/nano structure(microporous and nanosheet)were well-modified by modulating the additive amounts of CuS and changing the reduction ways, which resulted in the variation of the pore structure, defects, complex permittivity, microwave absorption, radar cross section(RCS)reduction value and infrared(IR)emissivity.Notably, the obtained CuS@rGO aerogels with a single dielectric loss type can achieve an ultrabroad bandwidth of 8.44 GHz at 2.8 mm with the low filler content of 6 wt%by a hydrothermal method.Besides, the composite aerogel via the ascorbic acid reduction realizes the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of−60.3 dB with the lower filler content of 2 wt%.The RCS reduction value can reach 53.3 dB m^(2),which effectively reduces the probability of the target being detected by the radar detector.Furthermore, the laminated porous architecture and multicomponent endowed composite aerogels with thermal insulation and IR stealth versatility. Thus, this work offers a facile method to design and develop porous rGO-based composite aerogel absorbers with radar-IR compatible stealth. | Yue Wu Yue Zhao Ming Zhou Shujuan Tan Reza Peymanfar Bagher Aslibeiki Guangbin Ji | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,11: | 6
Alkali and ion exchange co-modulation strategies to design magnetic-dielectric synergistic nano-absorbers for tailoring microwave absorption显示文摘Alkali and Co^(2+)co-modulation has seldom been investigated as a prospective strategy to achieve high-efficient microwave absorbing(MA)materials. In this work,a new alkali and Co ion exchange co-modulation strategy was first reported, leading to broadband MA capacity through simultaneous manipulating multiple factors, such as composition, micromorphology, and heterogeneous interface. And enhancements in impedance matching and magnetic-dielectric loss were synergistically realized.Consequently, the optimized FeCo alloy@porous carbon(FPC)nanocomposite with the alkali regulation delivered an effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 6.72 GHz,making it the merely single FeCo-based metal-organic framework derived FPC absorber with a low filler content of 15 wt.%.Interestingly,the nanocomposites by ion exchange strategy realized the switchable“on/off”states on electromagnetic response.Furthermore, the radar cross-section(RCS)reduction value of the products reached 25.6 dB·m^(2) under the incident angle of 0°.In brief, this work not only offers the special role of alkali and Co^(2+)co-modulation in composition regulation, structure design, and MA capacity, but also provides a reliable strategy to develop smart nano-absorbers to cope with electromagnetic pollution issues. | Yue Wu Shujuan Tan Taichen Zhang Ming Zhou Gang Fang Guangbin Ji | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 5
Design and synthesis of Al-MOF/PPSU mixed matrix membrane with pollution resistance显示文摘To enhance the performance of the polyphenylene sulfone(PPSU) membrane,a novel mixed matrix membrane with hydrophilicity and antifouling properties was prepared.Using PPSU as the ba sic membrane material, polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP) as the porogen,N-Methyl pyrrolidone(NMP) as the solvent, and MOF-CAU-1(Al_(4)(OH)_(2)(OCH_(3))_4(H_2 N-BDC)_(3)·xH_(2) O) as the filler,PPSU/CAU-1 mixed matrix membrane(MMM) was prepared by an immersion precipitation and phase transformation technique.By changing the amount of MOF-CAU-1,the properties and performance of the MMM membrane were investigated in terms of hydrophilicity, pore morphology, surface roughness, and dye removal. The results show that the highest pure water flux of the mixed reached 47.9 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1), when the CAU-1 addition amount was 1.0 wt%, which was 23% higher than that of the pure PPSU membrane. Both the rejection rate and the antifouling performance of the MMM membrane also noticeably improved. | Shujuan Xiao Xiaowen Huo Shuxin Fan Kui Zhao Shouwu Yu Xiaoyao Tan | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1: | 5
Construction of Co_(2)NiO_(4)@MnCo_(2)O_(4.5)nanoparticles with multiple hetero-interfaces for enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘Nanocomposites with heterogeneous structures and magneto-electric synergistic losses have broad prospects for improving electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption performance. In this study,we synthesized Co_(2)NiO_(4)@MnCo_(2)O_(4.5)nanoparticles with abundant hetero-interfaces and multiple magnetoelectric loss mechanisms by a facile hydrothermal method. The excess 0.5 oxygen atoms in MnCo_(2)O_(4.5) produce more vacancies and contribute to the enhancement of electrical conductivity.Sequential nanoneedle clusters facilitate multiple reflections and absorption of EMW in the materials, which are accompanied by an abundance of heterogeneous interfaces to improve the dielectric loss. The Co_(2)NiO_(4)@MnCo_(2)O_(4.5)composites showed a minimum reflection loss(RLmin)of30.01 dB and a superior effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 6.12 GHz(11.88 GHze18 GHz)at a thickness of 2.00 mm.Computer Simulation Technology(CST)revealed that the obtained particles show very low radar crosssection(RCS)values and almost full coverage angles. The maximum reduction of RCS at vertical incidence reaches 19.98 dB m2.The Co_(2)NiO_(4)@MnCo_(2)O_(4.5)nanoparticles exhibit outstanding radar attenuation properties, which can effectively inhibit the reflection and scattering of EMW.Therefore, the prepared Co_(2)NiO_(4)@MnCo_(2)O_(4.5)absorbers have great application potential in the field of EMW absorption. | Yi Zhang Shujuan Tan Zhuoting Zhou Xiaomeng Guan Yu Liao Chen Li Guangbin Ji | 2023 | Particuology2023,,10: | 5
Preparation and properties of PPSU/GO mixed matrix membrane显示文摘Polyphenylene sulfone/graphene oxide(PPSU/GO) mixed matrix membranes with different GO contents are prepared by phase inversion technique using, PEG-1000 as porogen, and N,N-dimethylacetamide(DMAC) as solvent. The hydrophilicity and pure water flux of the membrane are investigated. The morphology, hydrophilicity, thermodynamic stability and compatibility of the membranes are characterized by various techniques such as SEM,TGA, FTIR and so on. The permeation properties of the membrane are measured in terms of pure water flux and bovine serum albumin(BSA) retention. The results indicate that when the GO content is 1.5 wt%, an evenly distributed finger structure has been formed in the mixed matrix membranes. Owing to the presence of GO,the hydrophilicity and the thermal stability of the membranes are improved, and the fouling resistance is also enhanced. | Shujuan Xiao Shouwu Yu Li Yan Ying Liu Xiaoyao Tan | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,4: | 4
Nogo-A and Nogo-A receptor expression in periventricular white matter of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis rats显示文摘BACKGROUND:Previous studies have focused on the correlation between Nogo-A expression and multiple sclerosis or between Nogo-A receptor(NgR) expression and multiple sclerosis in the central nervous system.Expression patterns of Nogo-A and NgR remain poorly understood in rat models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE).OBJECTIVE:To observe dynamic changes in Nogo-A and NgR protein expression, and to verify the correlation between Nogo-A and NgR protein,as well as expression patterns at various time points,in periventricular tissue of EAE rats.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A neuroimmunological, randomized, controlled experiment was performed at the Clinical Institute of Hunan People's Hospital of China from September to November 2008.MATERIALS:Immunohistochemistry(streptavidin-biotin-peroxidase complex method) kit was purchased from Boster,China.METHODS:A total of 60 female,Wistar rats, aged 6-8 weeks, were randomly assigned to EAE and control groups(n = 30,respectively).Guinea pig spinal cord homogenate,self-made complete Freund's adjuvant(0.2 mL/100 g),and pertussis vaccine(0.2 mL) were subcutaneously injected into the hindlimb foot pad of rats from the EAE group to create rat models of EAE.Complete Freund's adjuvant(0.2 mL) was infused into rats from the control group.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Nogo-A and NgR protein expression was determined in periventricular white matter using immunohistochemical methods.Neurological scores were determined in all rats.RESULTS:Rats from the EAE group developed acute-onset EAE following immunization. The pathogenetic symptoms reached a peak on day 15,and neurological scores were also greatest at this time point.Neurological scores decreased with recovery of the illness.Nogo-A was shown to be expressed in neuronal cells and oligodendrocytes, and expression increased 11 days after immunization(P < 0.01),decreased by day 13(P < 0.01),and then increased again by day 15.Nogo-A expression remained greater in the EAE group compared with the control group at day 30(P < 0.01).In the EAE group,NgR protein was primarily expressed on the surface of neuronal bodies and axons.NgR expression increased 13-18 days after immunization(P < 0.01 or P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Nogo-A and NgR protein expression altered with disease course in periventricular white matter of EAE rats. Results suggested that Nogo-A and NgR were involved in EAE occurrence. | Liming Tan Ying Chi Chunyu Wang1, Jun Wu1, Hainan Zhang1, Xiangmin Shen1, ShujuanDuan1, Bo JiangI Jun Wu Hainan Zhang Xiangmin Shen Shujuan Duan Bo Jiang | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,8: | 2
Research progress on etiology of gestational diabetes mellitus显示文摘As a metabolic disorder during pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has an important effects on fetal development, neonatal health and maternal long-term health, and is one of the pregnancy complications with high incidence. It is of great significance that we have an accurate understanding of the etiology and risk factors of GDM for its prevention and control.GDM is a complex disease with multiple etiologies.Current studies have shown that the occurrence of GDM may be the result of combined effect of heredity and environment, but the exact etiology is still unclear. In this paper,we summarized the possible etiologies and risk factors of GDM,so as to understand the occurrence and development of GDM better and to provide possible references for prevention and further etiological studies of GDM. | Jiayue Zhang Shujuan Ma Chuhao Guo Sisi Long Shilan Wu Hongzhuan Tan | 2018 | Global Health Journal2018,2,4: | 2
Calcipotriol abrogates cancer-associated fibroblast-derived IL-8-mediated oxaliplatin resistance in gastric cancer cells via blocking PI3K/Akt signaling显示文摘Activation of vitamin D receptor(VDR)in cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)has been implicated in hesitating tumor progression and chemoresistance of several human malignancies.Yet,the role of VDR in CAF-induced chemotherapy resistance of gastric cancer(GC)cells remains elusive. In this study we first conducted immunohistochemistry analysis on tissue microarrays including 88 pairs of GC and normal mucosa samples, and provided clinical evidence that VDR was mainly expressed in gastric mucous cells but almost invisible in CAFs,and VDR expression was negatively correlated with malignant clinical phenotype and advanced stages, low VDR expression confers to poor overall survival rate of patients with GC.In a co-culture system of primary CAFs and cancer cells,we showed that treatment of HGC-27 and AGS GC cells with VDR ligand calcipotriol(Cal,500 nM)significantly inhibited CAF-induced oxaliplatin resistance.By using RNA-sequencing and Human Cytokine Antibody Array,we demonstrated that IL-8 secretion from CAFs induced oxaliplatin resistance via activating the PI3K/AKT pathway in GC,whereas Cal treatment greatly attenuated the tumor-supportive effect of CAF-derived IL-8 on GC cells.Taken together, this study verifies the specific localization of VDR in GC tissues and demonstrates that activation of VDR abrogates CAF-derived IL-8-mediated oxaliplatin resistance in GC via blocking PI3K/Akt signaling, suggesting vitamin D supplementation as a potential strategy of enhancing the anti-tumor effect of chemotherapy in GC. | Zhen-xiong Zhao Yan-qiu Zhang Hui Sun Zi-qi Chen Jin-jia Chang Xin Wang Xu Wang Cong Tan Shujuan Ni Wei-wei Weng Meng Zhang Lei Wang Dan Huang Yun Feng Wei-qi Shen Mi-die Xu | 2023 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2023,44,1: | 2
'Three-in-One' Multi-Scale Structural Design of Carbon Fiber-Based Composites for Personal Electromagnetic Protection and Thermal Management显示文摘Wearable devices with efficient thermal management and electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding are highly desirable for improving human comfort and safety. Herein, a multifunctional wearable carbon fibers(CF) @ polyaniline(PANI)/silver nanowires(Ag NWs) composites with a “branch-trunk” interlocked micro/nanostructure were achieved through 'three-in-one' multi-scale design. The reasonable assembly of the three kinds of one-dimensional(1D) materials can fully exert their excellent properties i.e., the superior flexibility of CF, the robustness of PANI, and the splendid conductivity of Ag NWs. Consequently, the constructed flexible composite demonstrates enhanced mechanical properties with a tensile stress of 1.2 MPa, which was almost 6 times that of the original material. This is mainly attributed to the fact that the PNAI(branch) was firmly attached to the CF(trunk) through polydopamine(PDA), forming a robust interlocked structure. Meanwhile, the composite possesses excellent thermal insulation and heat preservation capacity owing to the synergistically low thermal conductivity and emissivity. More importantly, the conductive path of the composite established by the three 1D materials greatly improved its EMI shielding property and Joule heating performance at low applied voltage. This work paves the way for rational utilization of the intrinsic properties of 1D materials, as well as provides a promising strategy for designing wearable electromagnetic protection and thermal energy management devices. | Ming Zhou Shujuan Tan Jingwen Wang Yue Wu Leilei Liang Guangbin Ji | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,10: | 1

The functional analysis of transiently upregulated miR-101 suggests a “braking” regulatory mechanism during myogenesis显示文摘Skeletal muscle differentiation is a highly coordinated process that involves many cellular signaling pathways and microRNAs(miRNAs).A group of muscle-specific miRNAs has been reported to promote myogenesis by suppressing key signaling pathways for cell growth. However, the functional role and regulatory mechanism of most non-muscle-specific miRNAs with stage-specific changes during differentiation are largely unclear. Here,we describe the functional characterization of miR-101a/b,a pair of non-muscle-specific miRNAs that show the largest change among a group of transiently upregulated miRNAs during myogenesis in C2C12 cells. The overexpression of miR-101a/b inhibits myoblast differentiation by suppressing the p38/MAPK,Interferon Gamma, and Wnt pathways and enhancing the C/EBP pathway.Mef2a,a key protein in the p38/MAPK pathway, was identified as a direct target of miR-101a/b.Interestingly,we found that the long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)Malat1,which promotes muscle differentiation, interacts with miR-101a/b,and this interaction competes with Mef2a mRNA to relieve the inhibition of the p38/MAPK pathway during myogenesis. These results uncovered a“braking”role in differentiation of transiently upregulated miRNAs and provided new insights into the competing endogenous RNA(ceRNA)regulatory mechanism in myoblast differentiation and myogenesis. | Shurong Liu Shujuan Xie Huafeng Chen Bin Li Zhirong Chen Yeya Tan Jianhua Yang Lingling Zheng Zhendong Xiao Qi Zhang Lianghu Qu | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,10: | 1
