| 1 | Stainless steel corrosion scale formed in reclaimed water: Characteristics, model for scale growth and metal element release显示文摘Stainless steels generally have extremely good corrosion resistance, but are still susceptible to pitting corrosion. As a result, corrosion scales can form on the surface of stainless steel after extended exposure to aggressive aqueous environments. Corrosion scales play an important role in affecting water quality. These research results showed that interior regions of stainless steel corrosion scales have a high percentage of chromium phases. We reveal the morphology, micro-structure and physicochemical characteristics of stainless steel corrosion scales. Stainless steel corrosion scale is identified as a podiform chromite deposit according to these characteristics, which is unlike deposit formed during iron corrosion. A conceptual model to explain the formation and growth of stainless steel corrosion scale is proposed based on its composition and structure. The scale growth process involves pitting corrosion on the stainless steel surface and the consecutive generation and homogeneous deposition of corrosion products, which is governed by a series of chemical and electrochemical reactions. This model shows the role of corrosion scales in the mechanism of iron and chromium release from pitting corroded stainless steel materials. The formation of corrosion scale is strongly related to water quality parameters.The presence of HClO results in higher ferric content inside the scales. | 3 | Haplotype-resolved genome of diploid ginger (Zingiber officinale) and its unique gingerol biosynthetic pathway显示文摘Ginger(Zingiber officinale),the type species of Zingiberaceae,is one of the most widespread medicinal plants and spices.Here,we report a high-quality,chromosome-scale reference genome of ginger‘Zhugen’,a traditionally cultivated ginger in Southwest China used as a fresh vegetable,assembled from PacBio long reads,Illumina short reads,and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture(Hi-C)reads.The ginger genome was phased into two haplotypes,haplotype 1(1.53 Gb with a contig N50 of 4.68 M)and haplotype 0(1.51 Gb with a contig N50 of 5.28 M).Homologous ginger chromosomes maintained excellent gene pair collinearity.In 17,226 pairs of allelic genes,11.9%exhibited differential expression between alleles.Based on the results of ginger genome sequencing,transcriptome analysis,and metabolomic analysis,we proposed a backbone biosynthetic pathway of gingerol analogs,which consists of 12 enzymatic gene families,PAL,C4H,4CL,CST,C3’H,C3OMT,CCOMT,CSE,PKS,AOR,DHN,and DHT.These analyses also identified the likely transcription factor networks that regulate the synthesis of gingerol analogs.Overall,this study serves as an excellent resource for further research on ginger biology and breeding,lays a foundation for a better understanding of ginger evolution,and presents an intact biosynthetic pathway for species-specific gingerol biosynthesis. | Hong-Lei Li Lin Wu Zhaoming Dong Yusong Jiang Sanjie Jiang Haitao Xing Qiang Li Guocheng Liu Shuming Tian Zhangyan Wu Bin Wu Zhexin Li Ping Zhao Yan Zhang Jianmin Tang Jiabao Xu Ke Huang Xia Liu Wenlin Zhang Qinhong Liao Yun Ren Xinzheng Huang Qingzhi Li Chengyong Li Yi Wang Baskaran Xavier-Ravi Honghai Li Yang Liu Tao Wan Qinhu Liu Yong Zou Jianbo Jian Qingyou Xia Yiqing Liu | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 2 |

The crystallization kinetic parameters including the crystallization apparent activation energy(E)and the Avrami parameter(n) were also measured. The results show that the Na O–Ca O–Si O2 system glassceramics with the Na2Ca2Si3O9 crystal as primary phase can be highly crystalized as above 90%. The results show that the deformation rate increases with loading time, the maximum strain reaches to 120% (which is one time larger than that of traditional mold casting billet) and the strain can be rapidly eliminated to 10% after unloading. Moreover, there is a critic stress for billet deformation even in semisolid state, which is named as critic shear stress. This stress increases with the decreasing of heating time. There are two very strong peaks of UV-Vis spectrum in the range of 400-600 nm, which are similar to those of Mn catalase and Mn ribonuleotide reductase extracted from organisms.
