3Novel CagA ELISA exhibits enhanced sensitivity of Helicobacter pylori CagA antibody显示文摘AIM To develop a novel Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)CagA antibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)suitable for detecting serum anti-CagA antibodies with high sensitivity.METHODS Recombinant East Asian-type CagA protein was purified and immobilized for ELISA.Serum samples from 217Vietnamese individuals(110 H.pylori-infected and107 uninfected individuals)were applied.Conventional ELISA from Western-type CagA and our East Asian-type CagA ELISA were evaluated by comparing 38 subjects with the Western-type genotype and 72 subjects with the East Asian-type cagA genotype.Histological scores of the gastric mucosa were determined using the updated Sydney System to examine the relationship with anti-CagA antibody titers.RESULTS Recombinant 70-100 k Da fragments were immobilized on the ELISA plate.In ROC analysis,the area under the curve of our East Asian-type CagA ELISA was comparable to that of conventional CagA ELISA.The sensitivity of the two ELISAs differed depending on the cagA genotype.The sensitivity of East Asian-type Cag A ELISA was higher for subjects infected with East Asiantype cagA H.pylori(P<0.001),and the sensitivity of the conventional CagA ELISA tended to be higher for subjects infected with Western cagA H.pylori(P=0.056).The titer of anti-CagA antibody tended to correlate with monocyte infiltration scores(r=0.25,P=0.058)and was inversely correlated with H.pylori density(r=-0.26,P=0.043).CONCLUSION The novel ELISA is useful to detect anti-CagA antibodies in East Asian countries,and the titer may be a marker for predicting chronic gastritis.Yuichi Matsuo Yasutoshi Kido Junko Akada Seiji Shiota Tran Thanh Binh Tran Thi Huyen Trang Ho DQ Dung Pham Huu Tung Tran Dinh Tri Ngo P Minh Thuan Le Quang Tam Bui Chi Nam Vu Van Khien Yoshio Yamaoka 2017World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,1:1

7Boceprevir early-access for advanced-fibrosis/cirrhosis in Asia-pacific hepatitis C virus genotype 1 non-responders/relapsers显示文摘AIM:To examined the efficacy and safety of treatment with boceprevir,PEGylated-interferon and ribavirin(PR)in hepatitis C virus genotype 1(HCVGT1) PR treatmentfailures in Asia.METHODS:The Boceprevir Named-Patient Program provided boceprevir to HCVGT1 PR treatment-failures.Participating physicians were invited to contribute data from their patients:baseline characteristics,ontreatment responses,sustained virological response at week 12(SVR12),and safety were collected and analysed.Multivariate analysis was performed to determine predictors of response.RESULTS:150 patients were enrolled from Australia,Malaysia,Singapore and Thailand(Asians = 86,Caucasians = 63).Overall SVR12 was 61%(Asians= 59.3%,Caucasians = 63.5%).SVR12 was higher in relapsers(78%) compared with non-responders(34%).On-treatment responses predicted SVR,with undetectable HCVRNA at week 4,8 and 12 leading to SVR12 s of 100%,87%,and 82%respectively,and detectable HCVRNA at week 4,8 and 12,leading to SVR12 s of 58%,22%and 6%respectively.Asian patients were similar to Caucasian patients with regards to on-treatment responses.Patients with cirrhosis(n= 69) also behaved in the same manner with regards to on-treatment responses.Those with the IL28 B CC genotype(80%) had higher SVRs than those with the CT/TT(56%) genotype(P = 0.010).Multivariate analysis showed that TW8 and TW12 responses were independent predictors of SVR.Serious adverse events occurred in 18.6%:sepsis(2%),decompensation(2.7%) and blood transfusion(14%).Discontinuations occurred in 30.7%,with 18.6%fulfilling stopping rules.CONCLUSION:Boceprevir can be used successfully in PR treatment failures with a SVR12 > 80%if they have good on-treatment responses;however,discontinuations occurred in 30%because of virological failure or adverse events.Wattana Sukeepaisarnjaroen Tri Pham Tewesak Tanwandee Saroja Nazareth Sam Galhenage Lindsay Mollison Leanne Totten Alan Wigg Rosalie Altus Anton Colman Brenda Morales Sue Mason Tracey Jones Nadine Leembruggen Vince Fragomelli Cheryl Sendall Richard Guan Dede Sutedja Soek Siam Tan Yock Young Dan Yin Mei Lee Widjaja Luman Eng Kiong Teo Yin Min Than Teerha Piratvisuth Seng Gee Lim 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,28:0

9On the derivation of the entropy of ideal quantum gases confined in a three-dimensional harmonic potential显示文摘In this work,the entropy functions of ideal quantum gases in a three-dimensional harmonic trap are analytically calculated using temperature as an explicit variable.Afterward,the applicability of the analytical formulas is validated by comparison with the numerical calculation.The results illustrate that the obtained functions could be applied for the whole temperature regime with a maximum relative deviation of less than 7.5%in the vicinity of the critical temperature Tcin the case of Bose gases.Meanwhile,for Fermi gases,although the analytical formula fits well at very low-and high-temperature regimes,it cannot be applied at temperature in the range[0.3-0.5]T_F,where T_F is the Fermi temperature.In addition,the consistency between our formulas and classical ones at significantly high temperatures is also discussed.Le Tri Dat Vinh N T Pham 2020Communications in Theoretical Physics2020,72,4:0
10Effects of Processing Parameters on Mechanical Properties and Structure of Banana Fiber-Reinforced Composites显示文摘The mechanical properties of unidirectional natural fiber-reinforced composites are generally affected by several processing parameters during compression molding.This study investigates the effects of processing temperature,time,and pressure on the tensile and flexural properties of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene reinforced by banana fibers.X-ray CT imaging was employed to find the relationship between the mechanical properties and structure of the processed composite.Besides,the water absorption of composites was observed and the way in which the mechanical properties evolved after water absorption was analyzed.The tensile and flexural properties of the unidirectional banana fiber-reinforced composite were found to be inversely proportional to the porosity.In addition,high-pressure compression molding might result in cracks and floating fibers that would significantly reduce its mechanical properties.The composite with the highest strength,smallest porosity and lowest water absorption was optimally prepared at T=170℃,t=20 min,and P=100 kg cm^-2.Dan-Thuy Van-Pham Minh Tri Nguyen Chanh-Nghiem Nguyen Thi Truc Duyen Le Thi Yen Nhu Pham Khai Thinh Nguyen Yukihiro Nishikawa Qui Tran-Cong-Miyata 2018Journal of Renewable Materials2018,6,6:0
