1Average slip-rate and recent large earthquake ruptures along the Garzê-Yushu fault显示文摘Our field investigation obtains new evidence of the later Quaternary activity and recent large earthquake ruptures of the Garzê-Yushu fault. The average left-lateral slip-rate along the fault is determined to be (12 ± 2) mm/a for the last 50000 years from both offset landforms and ages of the correlative sediments. This result is very close to the estimated average left-lateral slip-rate for the Xianshuihe fault, suggesting that the horizontal movement along the northern boundary of the Sichuan-Yunnan active tectonic block and the northeastern boundary of the Qiangtang active tectonic block has been basically harmonious during the later Quaternary period. Remains of ground ruptures of recent large earthquakes have been discovered along all 3 segments of the fault, of which, the 1896 rupture on the northwestern segment is at least 70 km long, and its corresponding earthquake could be of moment magnitude 7.3. The latest rupture on the middle segment of the fault has a length of about 180 km, and was produced by an unknown-age large earthquake that could have a moment magnitude of about 7.7. Along the southeastern segment of the fault, the latest unknown-age rupture is about 65 km long and has a maximum left-lateral coseismic displacement of 5.3 m, and its corresponding earthquake is estimated to be as large as about 7.3 of moment magnitude. Based on relevant investigation, an inference has been drawn that the later two large earthquakes probably occurred in 1854 and 1866, respectively. 3Retransmission or redundancy:Transmission reliability study in wireless sensor networks显示文摘As an application-driven network,wireless sensor network generally requires data reliability to maintain detection and response capabilities.Although two approaches,namely,retransmission and redundancy,have been proposed to enhance data reliability,the theoretical work is required to evaluate their impact on transmission reliability and energy efficiency.In this paper,we offer a comprehensive theoretical study on packet arrival probability and average energy consumption for both approaches.Our analysis and simulations indicate that when loss probabilities remain low or moderate,erasure coding,a typical redundancy-based scheme,is more energy efficient than retransmission.We also demonstrate that the resistance capability of erasure coding against packet loss weakens as the hop number increases,which motivates us to propose two improved mechanism based on the idea of the loss detection and the loss recovery.Finally,the simulation results carried out using TOSSIM verify the performance of different mechanisms both in the chain topology and the tree topology.WEN Hao LIN Chuang REN FengYuan ZHOU Jia YUE Yao HUANG XiaoMeng 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,4:7

5Bioinspired hierarchical helical nanocomposite macrofibers based on bacterial cellulose nanofibers显示文摘Bio-sourced nanocellulosic materials are promising candidates for spinning high-performance sustainable macrofibers for advanced applications.Various strategies have been pursued to gain nanocellulose-based macrofibers with improved strength.However,nearly all of them have been achieved at the expense of their elongation and toughness.Inspired by the widely existed hierarchical helical and nanocomposite structural features in biosynthesized fibers exhibiting exceptional combinations of strength and toughness,we report a design strategy to make nanocellulose-based macrofibers with similar characteristics.By combining a facile wet-spinning process with a subsequent multiple wet-twisting procedure,we successfully obtain biomimetic hierarchical helical nanocomposite macrofibers based on bacterial cellulose nanofibers,realizing impressive improvement in their tensile strength,elongation and toughness simultaneously.The achievement certifies the validity of the bioinspired hierarchical helical and nanocomposite structural design proposed here.This bioinspired design strategy provides a potential platform for further optimizing or creating many more strong and tough nanocomposite fiber materials for diverse applications.Huai-Ling Gao Ran Zhao Chen Cui Yin-Bo Zhu Si-Ming Chen Zhao Pan Yu-Feng Meng Shao-Meng Wen Chuang Liu Heng-An Wu Shu-Hong Yu 2020National Science Review2020,7,1:4
6Design of near-α Ti alloys via a cluster formula approach and their high-temperature oxidation resistance显示文摘The multi-component composition characteristics of high-temperature near-α Ti alloys were investigated in the present work by means of a cluster formula approach. The uniform cluster formula [CN12 cluster](glue atom)3 for the hexagonal close-packed α solid solution was first obtained based on the Friedel oscillation theory, with a total atom number in the formula of Z = 16. Then it was analyzed that the Z values in the cluster composition formulas of typical near-α Ti alloys are within the range of Z = 16.0016.30, being perfectly consistent with the ideal Z = 16. Based on it, a series of new alloys with Z = 16 and with Nb/Ta substitution for Mo in Ti1100 alloy were designed, suction-cast into φ 6 mm rods, and then heat-treated with solid solution and aging. It was found that the alloy with co-addition of Mo, Ta and Nb has a high strength and good ductility at both room and high temperatures. More importantly, the additions of Nb and Ta can contribute to the formation of continuous and compact Al2O3 scales, resulting in an obvious improvement of oxidation resistances at both 923 K and 1073 K. 9Ultrathin tellurium nanosheets for simultaneous cancer thermo-chemotherapy显示文摘The emerging two-dimensional monoelemental materials(2D Xenes)have been commonly supposed as promising drug delivery carriers,photothermal and photodynamic therapeutic agents,biosensors,theranostics,and some other candidates for biomedical applications.Here,high-performance and bioactive ultrathin 2D Tellurium nanosheets(Te NSs)are prepared by a simple but efficient liquid-phase exfoliation approach.The as-obtained Te NSs possess a mean size of~90 nm and a mean thickness of~5.43 nm.The pegylation Te NSs(Te-PEG NSs)possess excellent biocompatibility and stability.The Te-PEG NSs could generate local hyperthermia with a remarkable photothermal conversion efficiency of about 55%under 808 nm laser irradiation.Additionally,Te-PEG NSs exhibit an extremely high loading capacity of chemo drug(~162%)owing to their ultra-high surface area and tumor microenvironment-triggered drug release superiority.The results of in vivo experiments show that the Te-PEG NSs have higher tumor elimination efficiency via the combination of photothermal and chemotherapy,comparing to any other single therapeutic modalities.Therefore,our work not only highlights the promising potentials of tellurene as an ideal anti-cancer platform but also expands the application of 2D Te for cancer nanomedicine.Wen Pan Chuang Liu Yunhui Li Yang Yang Wenliang Li Chan Feng Leijiao Li 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:2
