A fast,edge-preserving,distance-regularized model with bilateral filtering for oil spill segmentation of SAR images显示文摘Marine oil spills are among the most significant sources of marine pollution.Synthetic aperture radar(SAR)has been used to improve oil spill observations because of its advantages in oil spill detection and identification. However, speckle noise, weak boundaries, and intensity inhomogeneity often exist in the oil spill regions of SAR imagery, which will seriously aff ect the accurate identification of oil spills. To enhance marine oil spill segmentation of SAR images,a fast,edge-preserving framework based on the distance-regularized level set evolution(DRLSE)model was proposed.Specifically,a bilateral filter penalty term is designed and incorporated into the DRLSE energy function(BF-DRLSE)to preserve the edges of oil spills, and an adaptive initial box boundary was selected for the DRLSE model to reduce the operation time complexity. Two sets of RadarSat-2 SAR data were used to test the proposed method. The experimental results indicate that the bilateral filtering scheme incorporated into the energy function during level set evolution improved the stability of level set evolution.Compared with other methods, the proposed improved BF-DRLSE algorithm displayed a higher overall segmentation accuracy(97.83%).In addition, using an appropriate initial box boundary for the DRLSE method accelerated the global search process, improved the accuracy of oil spill segmentation, and reduced computational time. Therefore, the results suggest that the proposed framework is eff ective and applicable for marine oil spill segmentation. | Wandi WANG Hui SHENG Yanlong CHEN Shanwei LIU Jijun MAO Zhe ZENG Jianhua WAN | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4: | 3

VqMAPK3/VqMAPK6, VqWRKY33, and VqNSTS3 constitute a regulatory node in enhancing resistance to powdery mildew in grapevine显示文摘Grapevine powdery mildew is caused by Erysiphe necator, which seriously harms grape production in the world.Stilbene synthase makes phytoalexins that contribute to the resistance of grapevine against powdery mildew.A novel VqNSTS3 was identified and cloned from Chinese wild Vitis quinquangularis accession Danfeng-2.The novel VqNSTS3 was transferred into susceptible‘Thompson Seedless’by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The transgenic plants showed resistance to the disease and activated other resistance-related genes.VqNSTS3 expression in grapevine is regulated by VqWRKY33,and which binds to TTGACC in the VqNSTS3 promoter.Furthermore,VqWRKY33 was phosphorylated by VqMAPK3/VqMAPK6 and thus led to enhanced signal transduction and increased VqNSTS3 expression.ProVqNSTS3::VqNSTS3-GFP of transgenic VqNSTS3 in Arabidopsis thaliana was observed to move to and wrap the pathogen’s haustoria and block invasion by Golovinomyces cichoracearum. These results demonstrate that stilbene accumulation of novel VqNSTS3 of the Chinese wild Vitis quinquangularis accession Danfeng-2 prevented pathogen invasion and enhanced resistance to powdery mildew.Therefore,VqNSTS3 can be used in generating powdery mildew-resistant grapevines. | Wandi Liu Chaohui Yan Ruimin Li Guanyu Chen Xinqi Wang Yingqiang Wen Chaohong Zhang Xiping Wang Yan Xu Yuejin Wang | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,7: | 0
Low molecular weight protein phosphatase APH mediates tyrosine dephosphorylation and ABA response in Arabidopsis.显示文摘Low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase(LWM-PTP),also known as acid phosphatase,is a highly conserved tyrosine phosphatase in living organisms. However, the function of LWM-PTP homolog has not been reported yet in plants. Here,we revealed a homolog of acid phosphatase,APH,in Arabidopsis plants,is a functional protein tyrosine phosphatase. The aph mutants are hyposensitive to ABA in post-germination growth. We performed an anti-phosphotyrosine antibody-based quantitative phosphoproteomics in wild-type and aph mutant and identified hundreds of putative targets of APH,including multiple splicing factors and other transcriptional regulators.Consistently,RNA-seq analysis revealed that the expression of ABA-highly-responsive genes is suppressed in aph mutants. Thus,APH regulates the ABA-responsive gene expressions by regulating the tyrosine phosphorylation of multiple splicing factors and other post-transcriptional regulators. We also revealed that Tyr383 in RAF9,a member of B2 and B3 RAF kinases that phosphorylate and activate SnRK2s in the ABA signaling pathway,is a direct target site of APH.Phosphorylation of Tyr383 is essential for RAF9 activity. Our results uncovered a crucial function of APH in ABA-induced tyrosine phosphorylation in Arabidopsis. | Yanyan Du Shaojun Xie Yubei Wang Yu Ma Bei Jia Xue Liu Jingkai Rong Rongxia Li Xiaohong Zhu Chun-Peng Song WAndy Tao Pengcheng Wang | 2022 | Stress Biology2022,2,1: | 0
Non-coding RNAs expression in SARS-CoV-2 infection:pathogenesis, clinical significance, and therapeutic targets显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been looming globally for three years, yet the diagnostic and treatment methods for COVID-19 are still undergoing extensive exploration, which holds paramount importance in mitigating future epidemics.Host non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs)display aberrations in the context of COVID-19.Specifically,microRNAs(miRNAs),long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs),and circular RNAs(circRNAs)exhibit a close association with viral infection and disease progression. In this comprehensive review,an overview was presented of the expression profiles of host ncRNAs following SARS-CoV-2 invasion and of the potential functions in COVID-19 development, encompassing viral invasion, replication, immune response, and multiorgan deficits which include respiratory system, cardiac system, central nervous system, peripheral nervous system as well as long COVID.Furthermore,we provide an overview of several promising host ncRNA biomarkers for diverse clinical scenarios related to COVID-19,such as stratification biomarkers, prognostic biomarkers, and predictive biomarkers for treatment response. In addition,we also discuss the therapeutic potential of ncRNAs for COVID-19,presenting ncRNA-based strategies to facilitate the development of novel treatments.Through an in-depth analysis of the interplay between ncRNA and COVID-19 combined with our bioinformatic analysis,we hope to offer valuable insights into the stratification, prognosis, and treatment of COVID-19. | Xiaoxing Liu Wandi Xiong Maosen Ye Tangsheng Lu Kai Yuan Suhua Chang Ying Han Yongxiang Wang Lin Lu Yanping Bao | 2024 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2024,9,1: | 0
Rapid Profiling and Characterization of the Multicomponents from the Root and Rhizome of Salvia miltiorrhiza by Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography/Ion Mobility-Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry in Combination with Computational Peak Annotation Workflows显示文摘Herbal components characterization represents a challenging task because of the co-existing of multiple classes of naturally occurring compounds with wide spans of polarity, molecular mass, and the ubiquitous isomerism. The root and rhizome of Salvia miltiorrhiza have been utilized as a reputable traditional Chinese medicine Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma(Dan-Shen)in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.Herein,a dimensionenhanced ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/ion mobility/quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry approach in combination with intelligent peak annotation workflows was established aimed to rapidly characterize the multicomponents from S.miltiorrhiza.Due to the sufficient optimization, satisfactory chromatography separation was enabled on an HSS T3 column within 33 min using 0.1%formic acid in water(A)and acetonitrile(B)as the mobile phase, while the data-independent HDMS^(E) in both the negative and positive electrospray ionization modes was utilized for the high-coverage MS^(2) data acquisition.Streamlined automatic peak annotation by searching an in-house library(recording 198 known compounds)followed by the subsequent confirming steps(e.g.,comparison with the reference compounds, fragmentation pathways analysis, and retention behavior comparison, etc.),allowed us to identify or tentatively characterize a total of 86 components(including 50 terpenoids,21 phenolic acids, and 15 others)from S.miltiorrhiza.Importantly,three-dimensional structure information, such as the retention time,MS^(1) and MS^(2) data, and collision cross section(CCS),was provided, which can facilitate the more reliable characterization of herbal components. | Boxue Chen Hongda Wang Meiyu Liu Wandi Hu Yuexin Qian Jiali Wang Jie Liu Xue Li Jing Wang Wenzhi Yang | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,5: | 0
