2Hyperthermia by a nitinol stent in an alternating magnetic field:Safety and feasibility in rabbit esophageal cancer显示文摘Hyperthermia by heating in-stent is a potentially new method to treat esophageal cancer.This study assessed the safety of heating the rabbit esophagus with a nitinol stent in an alternating magnetic field(AMF) and investigated whether this method offers a therapeutic option for esophageal cancer.Nitinol stents were placed in the cervical esophagi of healthy rabbits,which were heated in an AMF for different times at 43,46 and 50℃.The esophagi were histologically examined after a week to observe whether there was transmural necroses.Then esophageal cancer of rabbit placed nitinol stents were heated in an AMF at 46℃for 10 min.Stents were heated to a target temperature within 5 min.The highest tolerated temperature and time for the healthy rabbit esophagus was at 46℃for 10 min.Tumor growth was delayed by heating and it was statistically significant.Heating the rabbit esophageal wall at 46℃for 10 min proves to be safe and effective in delaying tumor growth.Jumei Zhou Ning Li Qisheng Xia Lehui Du Xiaowen Wang Linyun Zhao Xufei Wang Jintian Tang 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,12:1

8International collaboration to promote global health:The 2017 Belt and Road Initiative Global Health International Congress&2017 Chinese Preventive Medicine Association--Chinese Society on Global Health Annual Meeting显示文摘With the rapid development of new technologies and global trade and increasing collaboration am ong countries worldwide,public health has become a global issue.Global health,as a new discipline,has been drawing more attention from both academ ia and governments.The Belt and Road Initiative(BRI),proposed by China in 2013,aimed to prom ote trade and resource exchange,including education,research,and health issues,with over 60 countries in Asia,Africa,and Europe.The BRI provides good opportunities for involved countries to address health problems jointly as well.In response to the BRI and to promote international collaboration on global health issues,'The 2017 Belt and Road Initiative Global Health International Congress&2017 Chinese Preventive M edicine Association-Chinese Society on Global Health Annual Meeting'was held on Septem ber 24-27,2017 in Xi’an,China.Thus far,this is the largest high-quality international conference held in China that focused on the BRI global health issues.This article summarized the background,key sessions and topics covered during the congress,and important events,and highlights different perspectives of the BRI and global health by invited experts from China and abroad.The conference included 14 sessions(three keynote speech forums and ten scientific sessions and a research poster session)and about 100 speakers,around 40 of which were leading experts outside of China.All the major sessions were held in English.More than 40 leaders and experts of health sectors from 13 countries presented their work in the congress.Approximately 400 delegates from 29 countries attended the congress.Delegates had extensive discussions about global health related issues,future cooperation and development in global health.The congress fostered international exchange and collaboration.Youfa Wang Xiaomin Sun Liang Wang Zhongliang Zhou Yu Fang Linyun Zhou Hongwei Cai Xin Qi Tieru Han Guihua Zhuang Hong Yan 2017Global Health Journal2017,1,3:1

15Anisotropic interaction between self-interstitial atoms and 1/2<111> dislocation loops in tungsten显示文摘We investigate the interaction between <111> self-interstitial atoms(SIAs) and 1/2<111> self-interstitial dislocation loops in tungsten(W) via atomistic simulations. We explore the variation of the anisotropic distribution of binding energies with the shapes and sizes of the 1/2[111] loop and the nonequivalent configurations of <111> SIAs. For an arbitrarily shaped loop, SIA can be more easily trapped in the concave region of the loop than the convex region, which forms a loop whose curvature is closer to that of a circular loop. The direction of SIAs can largely affect the interaction behaviors with the loop. The capture distance of an SIA by the edge of a circular-shaped 1/2[111] loop is clearly elongated along the direction of the SIA;however, it weakly depends on the size of the loop. Then, we analyze the slanted ring-like capture volume of <111> SIAs formed by the circular loop based on their generated anisotropic stress fields. Furthermore, the binding energies obtained from the elastic theory and atomistic simulations are compared. 17Dominant early heading without yield drag in a sister-line BC breeding progeny DEH_229 is controlled by multiple genetic factors with maineffect loci显示文摘Dominant early heading(DEH)in rice(Oryza sativa L.)is of interest in both breeding and genetics.The genetic mechanisms underlying DEH have remained largely unclear.We have developed a near-isogenic DEH line without yield drag named DEH_229 by sister-line backcross(BC)breeding with MH63,a restorer,as the genetic background.We conducted a pilot genetic investigation under both short-day(SD)and long-day(LD)conditions.The DEH line harbored only 1.06%variation in the genome sequence relative to MH63.The variants were distributed throughout the genome.Using QTL mapping by sequencing(QTL-seq)on an F_(2) population derived from a cross of MH63×DEH_229,57 loci were detected under the SD condition.Joint mapping employing a genome-wide association study with accessions from the 3000 rice genome sequencing project(3K-RG),reduced the number of QTL by 43.9%.Using Rice Functional Genomics&Breeding(RFGB)database,the number of SNP cluster regions within the QTL regions reduced by 27.3%.Further comparison of the genome variation between DEH_229 and MH63 in addition to gene annotation information revealed a new DEH allele of DTH3 with multiple variable sites as a possible major factor underlying the early-heading phenotype of DEH_229.An InDel marker,ZMEH_1,was designed based on the variation between DEH_229 and MH63 within this region.It accounted for 86.0%of heading date variation under both SD and LD conditions in 109 randomly chosen progeny derived from extreme lines of the MH63×DEH_229 population.This study reveals the genetic complexity of DEH in the near-isogenic line and may provide useful material and marker information for plant molecular breeding.Muhiuddin Faruquee Qiang Zhang Lubiao Zhang Linyun Xu Wensheng Wang Jiansan Chen Jianlong Xu Zhikang Li Binying Fu Tianqing Zheng 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:0
18Mechanism of NURP1 in temozolomide resistance in hypoxiatreated glioma cells via the KDM3A/TFEB axis显示文摘Temozolomide(TMZ)resistance is a major obstacle in glioma treatment.Nuclear protein-1(NUPR1)is a regulator of glioma progression.This study investigated the mechanism of NUPR1 in TMZ resistance in hypoxiatreated glioma cells and its mechanism in modulating autophagy.We treated TMZ-resistant cells U251-TMZ and T98G-TMZ to normoxia or hypoxia and silenced NUPR1 in hypoxia-treated U251-TMZ and T98G-TMZ cells to assess cell viability,proliferation,apoptosis,LC3-II/LC3-I and p62 expressions,and autophagic flux under different concentrations of TMZ.We found that hypoxia upregulated NUPR1 expression and autophagy while NUPR1 silencing suppressed hypoxia-induced TMZ resistance and autophagy in glioma cells.We also investigated the interaction between NUPR1 and lysine demethylase 3A(KDM3A),as well as the enrichments of KDM3A and H3 lysine 9 dimethylation(H3K9me2)in the transcription factor EB(TFEB)promoter region.Our results suggest that hypoxia-induced NUPR1 promotes TFEB transcription by binding to KDM3A and reducing H3K9me2 levels,thereby augmenting glioma cell autophagy and TMZ resistance.Moreover,the overexpression of KDM3A or TFEB promoted glioma cell autophagy.In a xenograft tumor model,silencing NUPR1 suppressed TMZ resistance in glioma cells in vivo.Overall,our findings highlight a mechanism by which NUPR1 enhances glioma cell autophagy and TMZ resistance via the KDM3A/TFEB axis.TAO LI XIN FU JIE WANG WEI SHANG XIAOTONG WANG LINYUN ZHANG JUN LI 2023Oncology Research2023,31,3:0
