| 2 | Outcomes in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma:results fromamulticenter real-world study in China显示文摘Background:Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis.However,the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries.To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China,we conducted a multicenter,retrospective cohort study.Methods:The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL(REAL-TREND)study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China.DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset.Overall survival(OS)was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test.Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers,the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models.Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.Results:A total of 2778 DLBCL patients diagnosed between January,2010 and December,2015 were enrolled to this study.After validating previous definitions,the SCHOLAR-1 study was most suitable to define refractory DLBCL.The estimated 5-year cumulative incidence of refractory patients was 20%(95% confidence Interval[CI]=18%-22%).After the determination of refractory disease,overall response rate and complete remission rate were 30%(95%CI=22%-38%)and 9%(95%CI=4%-15%),respectively.Patients with either no response to immunochemotherapy or relapse within 12 months after stem-cell transplantation had inferior survival with a median OS of 5.9 months(95%CI=5.5-7.1 months)and 2-year OS rate of 16%(95%CI=12%-20%).International prognostic index score 4-5(hazard ratio[HR]=2.22;95%CI=1.47-3.35),central nervous systemrelapse(HR=1.43;95%CI=1.04-1.97),and best response status(HR=2.68;95%CI=1.42-5.03 for partial remission.HR=5.97,95%CI=3.21-11.11 for stable disease/progressive disease)were independent unfavorable prognostic factors.Conclusions:This is the first large-scale Asian cohort study focusing on outcomes of refractory DLBCL.The definition of the SCHOLAR-1 study identifies patients with homogenously inferior survival,thus is appropriate to select refractory DLBCL.Due to poor clinical outcomes in the rituximab era,patients with refractory DLBCL may be potential candidates for novel treatment modalities. | Shuo Wang Li Wang Jianda Hu Wenbin Qian Xi Zhang Yu Hu Qi Zhu Bobin Chen Depei Wu Chung-Chou H.Chang Pengpeng Xu Xiaoyun Zheng Juying Wei Yao Liu Guohui Cui Yong Tang Yan Ma Haiwen Huang Hongmei Yi Weili Zhao | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,3: | 10 |
| 3 | Re–Os Dating of Bitumen from Paleo–Oil Reservoir in the Qinglong Antimony Deposit, Guizhou Province, China and Its Geological Significance显示文摘Abundant organic inclusions are present in the Qinglong antimony deposit. However, the source rocks of these organic matters have not been reliably identified. Recently, a paleo–oil reservoir was found in the Qinglong antimony deposit. In view of similar components of gaseous hydrocarbon, we propose that the organic matters observed in inclusions in Qinglong antimony deposit would come from this paleo–oil reservoir. We used the Re–Os dating method to determine the age of the bitumen from this paleo–oil reservoir, and obtained an isochron age of 254.3±2.8 Ma. The age indicates that the oilgeneration from source rock occurred in the early Late Permian, earlier than the Sb mineralization age(~148±8.5 Ma) in the Qinglong antimony deposit area. After oil generation from Devonian source rock, first and secondary migration, the crude oil have probably entered into the fractures and pores of volcanic rocks and limestone and formed a paleo–oil reservoir in the western wing of Dachang anticline. As burial process deepened, the crude oil has turned into natural gas, migrates into the core of Dachang anticline and formed a paleo–gas reservoir. The hydrocarbons(including CH_4) in the reservoirs can serve as reducing agent to provide the sulfur required for Sb mineralization through thermal chemical reduction of sulfates. | 4 | Low dose bisphenol A impairs spermatogenesis by suppressing reproductive hormone production and promoting germ cell apoptosis in adult rats显示文摘Bisphenol A (BPA), an estrogenic chemical, has been shown to reduce sperm count; however, the underlyingmechanisms remain unknown. Herein, we show that oral administration of BPA (2 μg/kg) for consecutive 14 daysin adult rats (BPA rats) significantly reduced the sperm count and the number of germ cells compared to controls.The serum levels of testosterone and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), as well as the level of GnRH mRNA inBPA rats were lower than those of control rats. Testosterone treatment could partially rescue the reduction of germcells in BPA rats. Notably, the number of apoptotic germ cells was significantly increased in BPA rats, which wasinsensitive to testosterone. Furthermore, the levels of Fas, FasL and caspase-3 mRNA in the testicle of BPA ratswere increased in comparison with controls. | 9 | Integration of nanoscale light emitters:an efficient ultraviolet and blue random lasing from NaYF_4:Yb/Tm hexagonal nanocrystals显示文摘Near infrared light-controlled release of payloads from ultraviolet-sensitive(UV-sensitive) polymer hydrogels or nanocarriers is one of the most promising strategies for biotherapy. Here, we propose the concept of light activation of NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm nanocrystals(NCs). NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm NCs are synthesized by a solvothermal method. Effective upconversion luminescence from NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm NCs excited by a continuous wave(CW) 980 nm laser is obtained. The NaYF_4:20%Yb, 2%Tm NCs are then used as a laser gain medium and sandwiched between Al and quartz reflectors to form laser microcavities. UV and blue upconverted random lasing is obtained from the laser microcavities. Hence, we verify explicitly that the NaYF_4:Yb, Tm NCs support UV and blue upconversion random lasing via a 980 nm nanosecond laser excitation. | 12 | Rationally tailoring interface characteristics of ZnO/amorphous carbon/graphene for heat-conduction microwave absorbers显示文摘With the increasingly severe electromagnetic interference issue and the huge heat dissipation demand caused by the miniaturized and integrated electronic devices,exploring the heat-conduction microwave absorption(MA)materials is highly desired and remains a great challenge.Herein,we reported the fabrication of ZnO/amorphous carbon(ZnO/AC)hybrid films covered on the surface of graphene(ZnO/AC/Graphene)to simultaneously apply as the MA and thermal management materials.The ZnO/AC coatings synthesized with the auxiliary of an atomic layer deposition(ALD)method are highly uniform and controllable,which can significantly improve the MA performance and thermal conduction properties of graphene.The reflection loss(RL)of−55.4 dB and the effective absorption bandwidth of 5.3 GHz were achieved with thickness of 2.0 mm for ZnO/AC/Graphene at a low loading content(3 wt.%).The minimum RL of−57.9 dB can be obtained in the ZnO/AC/Graphene composites at a low frequency(7.8 GHz).Moreover,the absorption frequency can be regulated by changing the ZnO/AC which can be readily implemented by adjusting the ALD cycles of ZnO.The thermal conductivity of ZnO/AC/Graphene is up to 257.8 mW·m^(−1)·K^(−1),increased by 53.2%compared with natural rubber.The enhancement mechanisms of microwave loss and heat conduction are systematically studied in detail.This work not only develops an excellent candidate,but also provides a novel strategy to design functional materials for heat-conduction MA application. | Maofan Zhou Xuefei Xu Gengping Wan Pengpeng Mou Shengjie Teng Guizhen Wang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,10: | 3 |

| 17 | CRISPR-Cas adaptive immune systems in Sulfolobales:genetic studies and molecular mechanisms显示文摘CRISPR-Cas systems provide the small RNA-based adaptive immunity to defend against invasive genetic elements in archaea and bacteria.Organisms of Sulfolobales,an order of thermophilic acidophiles belonging to the Crenarchaeotal Phylum,usually contain both type I and typeⅢCRISPR-Cas systems.Two species,Saccharolobus solfataricus and Sulfolobus islandicus,have been important models for CRISPR study in archaea,and knowledge obtained from these studies has greatly expanded our understanding of molecular mechanisms of antiviral defense in all three steps:adaptation,expression and crRNA processing,and interference.Four subtypes of CRISPR-Cas systems are common in these organisms,including I-A,I-D,Ⅲ-B,andⅢ-D.These cas genes form functional modules,e.g.,all genes required for adaptation and for interference in the I-A immune system are clustered together to form aCas and i Cas modules.Genetic assays have been developed to study mechanisms of adaptation and interference by different CRISPR-Cas systems in these model archaea,and these methodologies are useful in demonstration of the protospacer-adjacent motif(PAM)-dependent DNA interference by I-A interference modules and multiple interference activities byⅢ-B Cmr systems.Ribonucleoprotein effector complexes have been isolated for SulfolobalesⅢ-B andⅢ-D systems,and their biochemical characterization has greatly enriched the knowledge of molecular mechanisms of these novel antiviral immune responses. | Zhenxiao Yu Suping Jiang Yuan Wang Xuhui Tian Pengpeng Zhao Jianan Xu Mingxia Feng Qunxin She | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,5: | 2 |
