Gully Erosion Regionalization of Black Soil Area in Northeastern China显示文摘Gully erosion is the frequent and main form of soil erosion in the black soil area of the northeastern China, which is one of the most important commodity grain production bases in China. It is encroaching upon the fertile farmland there. Regionalization of gully erosion can reveal the spatial distribution and regularity of the development of gully erosion. Based on the eco-geographical regional background features of the black soil area, this study combined the regionalization with influencing factors of the development of gully erosion. GIS spatial analysis, geostatistical analysis, spatial statistics, reclassification, debris polygon processing and map algebra methods were employed. As a result, the black soil area was divided into 12 subregions. The field survey data on type, length, volume and other characteristics indicators of gully erosion were used to calibrate the results. Then the features of every subregion, such as where the gully erosion is, how serious it is, and why it happens and develops, were expounded. The result is not only an essential prerequisite for gully erosion surveys and monitoring, but also an important basis for gully erosion prevention. | YANG Jiuchun ZHANG Shuwen CHANG Liping LI Fei LI Tianqi GAO Yan | 2017 | Chinese Geographical Science2017,27,1: | 13
Thermal entanglement in a mixed-spin Heisenberg XXZ model under a nonuniform external magnetic field显示文摘The thermal entanglement in (1/2,1) mixed-spin Heisenberg XXZ model is investigated under an external nonuniform magnetic field. In the uniform magnetic field system, the critical magnetic field Bc and critical temperature Tc are increased by increasing the anisotropic parameter k. The degree of magnetic field b plays an important role in improving the critical temperature and enlarging the region of entan-glement in the nonuniform magnetic field system. | WANG Fei JIA HongHui ZHANG HaiLiang ZHANG XueAo CHANG ShengLi | 2009 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,12: | 13
GID1 modulates stomatal response and submergence tolerance involving abscisic acid and gibberellic acid signaling in rice显示文摘Plant responses to abiotic stresses are coordinated by arrays of growth and developmental programs.Gibberellic acid(CA) and abscisic acid(ABA) play critical roles in the developmental programs and environmental responses, respectively, through complex signaling and metabolism networks. However, crosstalk between the two phytohormones in stress responses remains largely unknown. In this study,we report that CIBBERELLIN-INSENSITIVE DWARF 1(GID1),a soluble receptor for GA,regulates stomatal development and patterning in rice(Oryza sativa L.).The gid1 mutant showed impaired biosynthesis of endogenous ABA under drought stress conditions, but it exhibited enhanced sensitivity to exogenous ABA.Scanning electron microscope and infrared thermal image analysis indicated an increase in the stomatal conductance in the gid1 mutant under drought conditions.Interestingly, the gid1 mutant had increased levels of chlorophyll and carbohydrates under submergence conditions, and showed enhanced reactive oxygen species(ROS)-scavenging ability and submergence tolerance compared with the wild-type.Further analyses suggested that the function of GID1 in submergence responses is partially dependent on ABA,and GA signaling by GID1 is involved in submergence tolerance by modulating carbohydrate consumption.Taken together, these findings suggest GID1 plays distinct roles in stomatal response and submergence tolerance through both the ABA and GA signaling pathways in rice. | Hao Du Yu Chang Fei Huang Lizhong Xiong | 2015 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,11: | 12

Remote Sensing Monitoring of Gullies on a Regional Scale: A Case Study of Kebai Region in Heilongjiang Province, China显示文摘Gully erosion is one of the major causes of land degradation in most areas and attracts increasing attention from researchers. We monitored gullies in the Kebai region in Heilongjiang Province of China by using remote sensing data and found that gully density increased with the increase in slope when the slope was less than 3°. Gully density in sunny slopes or windward slopes was greater than in shady slopes or leeward slopes because of the impacts of freezing and thawing, wind and solar radiation. Specifically, the gully density in northeast slope was the greatest and in southwest was the smallest. Gully density was reduced with increasing slope length and the longer the slope length, the less the gully density changed between 1965 and 2005. Affected by runoff, gullies most easily to occur in concave slopes and the critical elevation for gully erosion was 250–275 m. Moreover, hilly regions had the greatest gully density, followed by tableland regions, whereas the gully density in flatlands was the lowest. However, the gully density of these three types of landforms all increased between 1945 and 2000, and the portion of increase was 57.45%(hill), 52.91%(mesa) and 25.32%(plain), respectively. | ZHANG Shuwen LI Fei LI Tianqi YANG Jiuchun BU Kun CHANG Liping WANG Wenjuan YAN Yechao | 2015 | Chinese Geographical Science2015,25,5: | 10
Decreased Average Albumin-to-Globulin Ratio During Radiotherapy Worsens the Prognosis of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma:Implications for Nutritional Management显示文摘Objective Malnutrition and cachexia are common in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)patients undergoing radiotherapy. This study evaluated how malnutrition-and cachexia-related indicators, including the albumin-to-globulin ratio(AGR),and their changes during radiotherapy predict the treatment outcomes. Methods We reviewed a total of 172 ESCC patients receiving radiotherapy(as a primary cohort)and performed a Cox regression analysis on potential prognostic factors, including the AGR,as well as the TNM stage and concomitant chemotherapy.A subsequent receiver operating characteristics(ROC)curve and Kaplan Meier survival analysis was performed for ESCC patients stratified by the average AGR cut-off point. Results In addition to the well-documented factors(i.e.TNM stage and concomitant chemotherapy),the average AGR was a significant prognostic factor for ESCC patients receiving radiotherapy.By plotting the ROC curve of the average AGR with regard to the ESCC prognosis,we obtained cut-off points for the overall patients(cut-off point:1.5,AUC:0.636),for patients with stageⅡ/Ⅲdisease(cut-off point:1.5,AUC:0.611),and for patients with stageⅣdisease(cut-off point:1.84,AUC:0.900).The ESCC patients with higher average AGR had a significantly more favorable OS compared with those with a lower average AGR.Notably,ESCC patients who had an increasingΔAGR during radiotherapy had a considerably more favorable OS compared with those with a decreasingΔAGR.All of these findings were reproducible in the validation cohort. Conclusion A lower average AGR is indicative of a poorer prognosis for ESCC patients following radiotherapy.Improving the nutritional status and preventing or ameliorating cachexia might contribute to improving the prognosis of ESCC patients. | Fen Cai Xiu Lian Zhang Xiao Ling Wu Ting Ting Zhuang Lei Huang Yi Fei Tu Yuan Yuan Lu Min Xia Jiang Qing Ying Zhang Yan Lin Chang Chun Ma | 2021 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2021,6,2: | 8
WWOX suppresses KLF5 expression and breast cancer cell growth显示文摘The WW domain-containing oxidoreductase(WWOX) is a tumor suppressor in a variety of cancers, including breast cancer. Reduced WWOX expression is associated with the basal-like subtype and a relatively poor disease-free survival rate among breast cancer patients. Though several WWOX partners have been identified, the functional mechanisms of WWOX's role in cancers have not been fully addressed to date. In the current study, we found WWOX suppresses expression of KLF5—an oncogenic transcription factor—at protein level, and suppresses cancer cell proliferation in both bladder and breast cancer cell lines. Furthermore, we demonstrated that WWOX physically interacts with KLF5 via the former's WW domains and the latter's PY motifs. Interestingly, we found the expression of WWOX negatively correlates with KLF5 expression in a panel of breast cancer cell lines. Taken together, we conjecture that WWOX may suppress cancer cell proliferation partially by reducing the expression of KLF5. | Fei Ge Wenlin Chen Runxiang Yang Zhongmei Zhou Nanshan Chang Ceshi Chen Tianning Zou Rong Liu Jing Tan Guosheng Ren | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,5: | 7
Cetylpyridinium chloride mouth rinses alleviate experimental gingivitis by inhibiting dental plaque maturation显示文摘Oral rinses containing chemotherapeutic agents, such as cetylpyridinium chloride(CPC), can alleviate plaque-induced gingival infections, but how oral microbiota respond to these treatments in human population remains poorly understood. Via a doubleblinded, randomised controlled trial of 91 subjects, the impact of CPC-containing oral rinses on supragingival plaque was investigated in experimental gingivitis, where the subjects, after a 21-day period of dental prophylaxis to achieve healthy gingivae, received either CPC rinses or water for 21 days. Within-subject temporal dynamics of plaque microbiota and symptoms of gingivitis were pro?led via 16 S ribosomal DNA gene pyrosequencing and assessment with the Mazza gingival index.Cetylpyridinium chloride conferred gingival bene?ts, as progression of gingival in?ammation resulting from a lack of dental hygiene was signi?cantly slower in the mouth rinse group than in the water group due to inhibition of 17 gingivitis-enriched bacterial genera. Tracking of plaque α and β diversity revealed that CPC treatment prevents acquisition of new taxa that would otherwise accumulate but maintains the original biodiversity of healthy plaques. Furthermore, CPC rinses reduced the size, local connectivity and microbiota-wide connectivity of the bacterial correlation network, particularly for nodes representing gingivitisenriched taxa. The ?ndings of this study provide mechanistic insights into the impact of oral rinses on the progression and maturation of dental plaque in the natural human population. | Fei Teng Tao He Shi Huang Cun-Pei Bo Zhen Li Jin-Lan Chang Ji-Quan Liu Duane Charbonneau Jian Xu Rui Li Jun-Qi Ling | 2016 | International Journal of Oral Science2016,8,3: | 6
An improved quaternion Gauss–Newton algorithm for attitude determination using magnetometer and accelerometer显示文摘For the vector attitude determination, the traditional optimal algorithms which are based on quaternion estimator(QUEST) measurement noise model are complicated for just two observations. In our application, the magnetometer and accelerometer are not two comparable kinds of sensors and both are not small field-of-view sensors as well. So in this paper a new unit measurement model is derived. According to the Wahba problem, the optimal weights for each measurement are obtained by the error variance researches. Then an improved quaternion Gauss–Newton method is presented and adopted to acquire attitude. Eventually, simulation results and experimental validation employed to test the proposed method demonstrate the usefulness of the improved algorithm. | Liu Fei Li Jie Wang Haifu Liu Chang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2014,27,4: | 6
The RppC-AvrRppC NLR-effector interaction mediates the resistance to southern corn rust in maize显示文摘Southern corn rust(SCR),caused by the fungal pathogen Puccinia polysora,is a major threat to maize pro-duction worldwide.Efficient breeding and deployment of resistant hybrids are key to achieving durable control of SCR.Here,we report the molecular cloning and characterization of RppC,which encodes an NLR-type immune receptor and is responsible for a major SCR resistance quantitative trait locus.Further-more,we identified the corresponding avirulence effector,AvrRppC,which is secreted by P.polysora and triggers RppC-mediated resistance.Allelic variation of AvrRppC directly determines the effectiveness of RppC-mediated resistance, indicating that monitoring of AvrRppC variants in the field can guide the rational deployment of RppC-containing hybrids in maize production.Currently,RppC is the most frequently deployed SCR resistance gene in China, and a better understanding of its mode of action is crit-ical for extending its durability. | Ce Deng April Leonard James Cahill Meng Lv Yurong Li Shawn Thatcher Xueying Li Xiaodi Zhao Wenjie Du Zheng Li Huimin Li Victor Llaca Kevin Fengler Lisa Marshall Charlotte Harris Girma Tabor Zhimin Li Zhiqiang Tian Qinghua Yang Yanhui Chen Jihua Tang Xintao Wang Junjie Hao Jianbing Yan Zhibing Lai Xiaohong Fei Weibin Song Jinsheng Lai Xuecai Zhang Guoping Shu Yibo Wang Yuxiao Chang Weiling Zhu Wei Xiong Juan Sun Bailin Li Junqiang Ding | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,5: | 6

Purification and Characterization of a Low-temperature Hydroxylamine Oxidase from Heterotrophic Nitrifier Acinetobacter sp.Y16显示文摘Objective To purify a low-temperature hydroxylamine oxidase(HAO) from a heterotrophic nitrifying bacterium Acinetobacter sp.Y16 and investigate the enzyme property. Methods A HAO was purified by an anion-exchange and gel-filtration chromatography from strain Y16.The purity and molecular mass were determined by RP-HPLC and SDS-PAGE.The HAO activity was detected by monitoring the reduction of potassium ferricyanide using hydroxylamine as substrate and ferricyanide as electron acceptor. The partial amino acid sequence was determined by mass spectrometry. Results The low-temperature HAO with a molecular mass of 61 kDa was purified from strain Y16 by an anion-exchange and gel-filtration chromatography. The enzyme exhibited an ability to oxidize hydroxylamine in wide temperature range(4-40 ℃) in vitro using hydroxylamine as substrate and ferricyanide as electron acceptor. It was stable in the temperature range of 4 to 15 ℃ and pH range of6.0 to 8.5 with less than 30%change in its activity. The optimal temperature and pH were 15 ℃ and 7.5,respectively.Three peptides were determined by mass spectrometry which were shown to be not identical to other reported HAOs.Conclusion This is the first study to purify a low-temperature HAO from a heterotrophic nitrifier Acinetobacter sp.It differs from other reported HAOs in molecular mass and enzyme properties. The findings of the present study have suggested that the strain Y16 passes through a hydroxylamine-oxidizing process catalyzed by a low-temperature HAO for ammonium removal. | ZHANG Shu Mei LI Wei Guang ZHANG Duo Ying HUANG Xiao Fei QIN Wen SHA Chang Qing | 2014 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2014,27,7: | 6
Soil microbial community composition and its driving factors in alpine grasslands along a mountain elevational gradient显示文摘Understanding the vertical distribution patterns of soil microbial community and its driving factors in alpine grasslands in the humid regions of the Tibet Plateau might be of great significance for predicting the soil microbial community of this type of vegetation in response to environmental change.Using phospholipid fatty acids(PLFA),we investigated soil microbial community composition along an elevational gradient(3094~4131 m above sea level) on Mount Yajiageng, and we explored the impact of plant functional groups and soil chemistry on the soil microbial community.Except for Arbuscular Mycorrhizal fungi(AM fungi) biomarker18:2ω6,9 increasing significantly, other biomarkers did not show a consistent trend with the elevational gradient.Microbial biomass quantified by total PLFAs did not show the elevational trend and had mean values ranging from 1.64 to 4.09 μmol per g organic carbon(OC),which had the maximum value at the highest site.Bacterial PLFAs exhibited a similar trend with total PLFAs,and its mean values ranged from0.82 to 1.81 μmol(g OC)^(-1).The bacterial to fungal biomass ratios had the minimum value at the highest site, which might be related to temperature and soil total nitrogen(TN).The ratios of Gram-negative to Gram-positive bacteria had a significantly negative correlation with soil TN and had the maximum value at the highest site.Leguminous plant coverage and soil TN explained 58% of the total variation in the soil microbial community and could achieve the same interpretation as the whole model.Other factors may influence the soil microbial community through interaction with leguminous plant coverage and soil TN.Soil chemistry and plant functional group composition in substantial amounts explained different parts of the variation within the soil microbial community, and the interaction between them had no impact on the soil microbial community maybe because long-term grazing greatly reduces litter. In sum, although there were obvious differences in soil microbial communities along the elevation gradient, there were no clear elevational trends found in general.Plant functional groups and soil chemistry respectively affect the different aspects of soil microbial community.Leguminous plant coverage and soil TN had important effects in shaping soil microbial community. | CUI Hai-jun WANG Gen-xu YANG Yan YANG Yang CHANG Rui-ying RAN Fei | 2016 | Journal of Mountain Science2016,13,6: | 5
Prevalence and Phylogenetic Analysis of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus in Ticks from Different Ecosystems in Xinjiang,China显示文摘The Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus(CCHFV),a member of the genus Orthonairovirus and family Nairoviridae,is transmitted by ticks and causes severe hemorrhagic disease in humans. To study the epidemiology of CCHFV in different ecosystems in Xinjiang,China,a total of 58,932 ticks were collected from Tarim Basin,Junggar Basin,Tianshan Mountain, and Altai Mountain from 2014 to 2017.Hyalomma asiaticum asiaticum was the dominant tick species in Tarim and Junggar basins, whereas Dermacentor nuttalli and Hyalomma detritum were found in Tianshan Mountain and Altai Mountain, respectively.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction of the CCHFV small(S)genome segment was used for the molecular detection. The CCHFV-positive percentage was 5.26%,6.85%,1.94%,and 5.56% in Tarim Basin,Junggar Basin,Tianshan Mountain, and Altai Mountain, respectively.Sequences of the S segment were used for phylogenetic analysis and the results showed that the newly identified CCHFV strains belonged to two clades. Our study confirms that H.asiaticum asiaticum is the major vector of CCHFV in desert habitats which is consistent with previous studies, and also suggests that H.detritum and D.nuttalli are emerging vectors for CCHFV in Xinjiang. Moreover, this study reports the presence of CCHFV in the mountain habitat of Xinjiang for the first time, suggesting that future surveillance of CCHFV should also include mountainous areas. | Abulimiti Moming Xihong Yue Shu Shen Chenchen Chang Cheng Wang Tao Luo Yanfang Zhang Rong Guo Zhihong Hu Yujiang Zhang Fei Deng Surong Sun | 2018 | Virologica Sinica2018,33,1: | 5
Human adenovirus(HAdV)infection in children with acute respiratory tract infections in Guangzhou,China,2010–2021:a molecular epidemiology study显示文摘Background Human adenovirus(HAdV)infection can cause a variety of diseases. It is a major pathogen of pediatric acute respiratory tract infections(ARIs)and can be life-threatening in younger children. We described the epidemiology and subtypes shifting of HAdV among children with ARI in Guangzhou,China. Methods We conducted a retrospective study of 161,079 children diagnosed with acute respiratory illness at the Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center between 2010 and 2021.HAdV specimens were detected by real-time PCR and the hexon gene was used for phylogenetic analysis. Results Before the COVID-19 outbreak in Guangzhou, the annual frequency of adenovirus infection detected during this period ranged from 3.92%to 13.58%,with an epidemic peak every four to fve years.HAdV demonstrated a clear seasonal distribution, with the lowest positivity in March and peaking during summer(July or August)every year.A signifcant increase in HAdV cases was recorded for 2018 and 2019,which coincided with a shift in the dominant HAdV subtype from HAdV-3 to HAdV-7.The latter was associated with a more severe disease compared to HAdV-3.The average mortality proportion for children infected with HAdV from 2016 to 2019 was 0.38%but increased to 20%in severe cases. After COVID-19 emerged,HAdV cases dropped to 2.68%,suggesting that non-pharmaceutical interventions probably reduced the transmission of HAdV in the community. Conclusion Our study provides the foundation for the understanding of the epidemiology of HAdV and its associated risks in children in Southern China. | Yi Chen Tao Lin Chang‑Bing Wang Wan‑Li Liang Guang‑Wan Lian Mark Zanin Sook‑San Wong Xin‑Gui Tian Jia‑Yu Zhong Ying‑Ying Zhang Jia‑Hui Xie Ling‑Ling Zheng Fei‑Yan Chen Run Dang Ming‑Qi Zhao Yi‑Yu Yang Rong Zhou Bing Zhu | 2022 | World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,8: | 5
Low dose bisphenol A impairs spermatogenesis by suppressing reproductive hormone production and promoting germ cell apoptosis in adult rats显示文摘Bisphenol A (BPA), an estrogenic chemical, has been shown to reduce sperm count; however, the underlyingmechanisms remain unknown. Herein, we show that oral administration of BPA (2 μg/kg) for consecutive 14 daysin adult rats (BPA rats) significantly reduced the sperm count and the number of germ cells compared to controls. The serum levels of testosterone and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), as well as the level of GnRH mRNA inBPA rats were lower than those of control rats. Testosterone treatment could partially rescue the reduction of germcells in BPA rats. Notably, the number of apoptotic germ cells was significantly increased in BPA rats, which wasinsensitive to testosterone. Furthermore, the levels of Fas, FasL and caspase-3 mRNA in the testicle of BPA ratswere increased in comparison with controls. These results indicate that exposure to a low dose of BPA impairsspermatogenesis through decreasing reproductive hormones and activating the Fas/FasL signaling pathway. | Pengpeng Jin Xiaoli Wang Fei Chang Yinyang Bai Yingchun Li Rong Zhou Ling Chen | 2013 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,2: | 5
Predictors of healthcare-seeking behavior among Chinese patients with irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘AIM To analyze predictors of healthcare-seeking behavior among Chinese patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) and their satisfaction with medical care.METHODS Participating patients met IBS Rome Ⅲ criteria(excluding those with organic diseases) and were enrolled in an IBS database in a tertiary university hospital. Participants completed IBS questionnaires in face-to-face interviews. The questionnaires covered intestinal and extra-intestinal symptoms, medical consultations, colonoscopy, medications, and self-reported response to medications during the whole disease course and in the past year. Univariate associations and multivariate logistic regression were used to identify predictors for frequent healthcareseeking behavior(≥ 3 times/year), frequent colonoscopies(≥ 2 times/year), long-term medications, and poor satisfaction with medical care.RESULTS In total, 516 patients(293 males, 223 females) were included. Participants' average age was 43.2 ± 11.8 years. Before study enrollment, 55.2% had received medical consultations for IBS symptoms. Ordinary abdominal pain/discomfort(non-defecation) was an independent predictor for healthcare-seeking behavior(OR = 2.07, 95%CI: 1.31-3.27). Frequent colonoscopies were reported by 14.7% of patients(3.1 ± 1.4 times per year). Sensation of incomplete evacuation was an independent predictor for frequent colonoscopies(OR = 2.76, 95%CI: 1.35-5.67). During the whole disease course, 89% of patients took medications for IBS symptoms, and 14.7% reported they were satisfied with medical care. Patients with anxiety were more likely to report dissatisfaction with medical care(OR = 2.08, 95%CI: 1.20-3.59). In the past year, patients with severe(OR = 1.74, 95%CI: 1.06-2.82) and persistent(OR = 1.66, 95%CI: 1.01-2.72) IBS symptoms sought medical care more frequently.CONCLUSION Chinese patients with IBS present high rates of frequent healthcare-seeking behavior, colonoscopies, and medications, and low satisfaction with medical care. Intestinal symptoms are major predictors for healthcare-seeking behavior. | Wenjuan Fan Dong Xu Min Chang Liming Zhu Guijun Fei Xiaoqing Li Xiucai Fang | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,42: | 5
Adsorptive removal of hydrophobic organic compounds by carbonaceous adsorbents:A comparative study of waste-polymer-based,coal-based activated carbon, and carbon nanotubes显示文摘Adsorption of the hydrophobic organic compounds(HOCs) trichloroethylene(TCE),1,3-dichlorobenzene(DCB),1,3-dinitrobenzene(DNB) and γ-hexachlorocyclohexane(HCH) on five different carbonaceous materials was compared. The adsorbents included three polymer-based activated carbons, one coal-based activated carbon(F400) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWNT).The polymerbased activated carbons were prepared using KOH activation from waste polymers:polyvinyl chloride(PVC),polyethyleneterephthalate(PET) and tire rubber(TR).Compared with F400 and MWNT,activated carbons derived from PVC and PET exhibited fast adsorption kinetics and high adsorption capacity toward the HOCs,attributed to their extremely large hydrophobic surface area(2700 m 2 /g) and highly mesoporous structures.Adsorption of small-sized TCE was stronger on the tire-rubber-based carbon and F400 resulting from the pore-filling effect. In contrast, due to the molecular sieving effect, their adsorption on HCH was lower.MWNT exhibited the lowest adsorption capacity toward HOCs because of its low surface area and characteristic of aggregating in aqueous solution. | Fei Lian Chun Chang Yang Du Lingyan Zhu Baoshan Xing Chang Liu | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9: | 4
