1The impact of meteorological changes from 2013 to 2017 on PM2.5 mass reduction in key regions in China显示文摘In 2013,China issued the'Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution'('Ten Statements of Atmosphere')and implemented a series of pollution reduction measures from 2013 to 2017.In key regions of China,the mass concentrations of particulate matter with aerodynamic equivalent diameters less than 2.5μm(PM2.5)have dropped significantly.However,the contributions of meteorological changes to PM2.5 reduction are largely uncertain,which has attracted particular concern from the government and the public.Here,we investigated the impact of large-scale and boundary layer(BL)meteorological conditions on aerosol pollution and estimated the contributions of meteorological changes to PM2.5 reduction based on in-depth analysis and diagnosis of various observed meteorological elements and an integrated pollution-linked meteorological index(PLAM,which is approximately and linearly related to PM mass concentration).In this study,we found that the meteorological conditions worsened in 2014 and 2015 and improved in 2016 and 2017 relative to those in 2013 in key regions in China.In 2017 relative to 2013,only^5%(approximately 13%of the total PM2.5 decline)of the 39.6%reduction in PM2.5 mass concentrations can be attributed to meteorological changes in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region,and only^7%(approximately 20%of the total PM2.5 decline)of the 34.3%reduction can be attributable to meteorological changes in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)region.Overall,the PM2.5 reduction due to meteorological improvement is much lower than the observed PM2.5 reduction in these areas,which indicates that emission reduction during the five-year implementation of the'Ten Statements of Atmosphere'is the dominant factor in the improvement in air quality.The changes in meteorology and climate are conducive to PM2.5 reduction but do not dominate the substantial improvement in air quality.Similar to the above regions,in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region,the impact of meteorological changes on the annual averaged PM2.5 concentration from 2013 to2017 was relatively weak,and the PM2.5 reduction was mainly due to emission reductions.During winter 2017(January,February,and December of this year),the meteorological conditions improved-20%in the BTH region(observed total PM2.5reduction:40.2%)and-30%in the YRD region(observed total PM2.5 reduction:38.2%)relative to those in 2013,showing the meteorological factors played more important role in the decrease of PM2.5 in winter of these years in the two regions,respectively.The meteorological conditions in winter 2016 were 14%better than those in winter 2017,but the PM2.5 reduction in winter 2016 was still less than that in winter 2017,reinforcing the significant contributions of the increasing efforts to reduce PM2.5 emissions in 2017.The substantial progress of strict emission measures was also confirmed by a comparison of several persistent heavy aerosol pollution episodes(HPEs)with similar meteorological conditions.It is found that the decrease of PM2.5mass caused by emission reduction increases year by year,especially the decrease of PM2.5 concentration in 2016 and 2017.In China,HPEs mainly occur in winter,when meteorological conditions are approximately 40-100%worse than in other seasons.This worsening is partly due to the harbor effect of high topography,including downdrafts and the weak wind zone,and partly due to the increasingly stable regional BL structure caused by climate warming.For the formation of HPEs,it occurred under regional stagnant and stable conditions associated with upper-level circulation patterns,including the zonal westerly winds type and high-pressure ridges.After pollution formation,PM2.5 with mass accumulated to a certain degree can further worsen the BL meteorological conditions.The feedback effect associated with worsening conditions dominates PM2.5 mass explosive growth.In the context of high air pollutant emissions in China,unfavorable meteorological conditions are the necessary external conditions for the formation and accumulation of HPEs.Therefore,reducing aerosol pollution significantly during the earlier transport stage is critical in reducing persistent HPEs.Currently,even under favorable meteorological conditions,allowing emissions without restriction is also not advisable because aerosol pollution allowed to accumulate to a certain extent will significantly worsen the BL meteorological conditions and close the'meteorological channels'available for pollution dispersion.Xiaoye ZHANG Xiangde XU Yihui DING Yanju LIU Hengde ZHANG Yaqiang WANG Junting ZHONG 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12:42
2Recent progresses in mangrove conservation,restoration and research in China显示文摘Aims In this paper,we highlighted some key progresses in mangrove conservation,restoration and research in China during last two decades.Methods Based on intensive literature review,we compared the distribution and areas of existing mangroves among selected provinces of China,discussed the issues associated with mangrove conservation and restoration and highlighted major progresses on mangrove research conducted by key institutions or universities in China's Mainland,Hong Kong,Taiwan and Macao.Important findings The population boom and rapid economic developments have greatly reduced mangrove areas in China since 1980s,leaving only 22700 ha mangroves in China's Mainland in 2001.Chinese government has launched a series of programs to protect mangroves since 1980s and has established mangrove ecosystems as high-priority areas for improving environmental and living resource management.During last three decades,a total of 34 natural mangrove conservation areas have been established,which accounts for 80%of the total existing mangroves areas in China.Mangrove restoration areas in China' Mainland accounted for<7%of the total mangroves areas in 2002.A great deal of research papers on Chinese mangroves has been published in international journals.However,more systematic protection strategies and active restoration measurements are still urgently needed in order to preserve these valuable resources in China.Luzhen Chen Wenqing Wang Yihui Zhang Guanghui Lin 2009Journal of Plant Ecology2009,2,2:42
3Mechanical model of water inrush from coal seam floor based on triaxial seepage experiments显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of confined water inrush from coal seam floor,the main influences on permeability in the process of triaxial seepage experiments were analyzed with methods such as laboratory experiments,theoretical analysis and mechanical model calculation.The crack extension rule and the ultimate destruction form of the rock specimens were obtained.The mechanism of water inrush was explained reasonably from mechanical point of view.The practical criterion of water inrush was put forward.The results show that the rock permeability 'mutation' phenomenon reflects the differences of stress state and cracks extension rate when the rock internal crack begins to extend in large-scale.The rock ultimate destruction form is related to the rock lithology and the angle between crack and principal stress.The necessary condition of floor water inrush is that the mining pressure leads to the extension and transfixion of the crack.The sufficient condition of floor water inrush is that the confined water’s expansionary stress in normal direction and shear stress in tangential direction must be larger than the internal stress in the crack.With the two conditions satisfied at the same time,the floor water inrush accident will occur.Yihui Pang Guofa Wang Ziwei Ding 2014International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,4:35

7^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar isochron ages of lawsonite blueschists from Jiuquan in the northern Qilian Mountain,NW China,and their tectonic implications显示文摘Using laser 40Ar/39Ar dating method,we have gotten the metamorphic ages of lawsonite blueschist and epidote blueschist from Jiuquan,northern Qilian Mountain,NW China.The high quality laser 40Ar/39Ar dating of glaucophane from lawsonite blueschist gives an isochron age of 413±5 Ma.The isochron age obtained from phengite in epidote blueschist is 415±7 Ma.These data,combining with peak metamorphic P-T conditions and regional geological setting,allow us to infer that the lower limit of the ages of the prograde subduction metamorphism from lawsonite blueschist facies to epidote blueschist facies occurred at ca.413-415 Ma,which also suggests that the formation of lawsonite blueschist in the northern Qilian Mountain maybe resulted from the corner flow in the cold subduction zone.This study shows that the final closing time of the northern Qilian remnant oceanic basin is about 413-415 Ma,which also represents the convergent age between the North China Craton and the Qaidam block.LIN YiHui ZHANG LiFei JI JianQing WANG QianJie SONG ShuGuang 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,19:15
8Sinomenine ester derivative inhibits glioblastoma by inducing mitochondria-dependent apoptosis and autophagy by PI3K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK/mTOR pathway显示文摘Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM)in the central nervous system is the most lethal advanced glioma and currently there is no effective treatment for it.Studies of sinomenine,an alkaloid from the Chinese medicinal plant,Sinomenium acutum,showed that it had inhibitory effects on several kinds of cancer.Here,we synthesized a sinomenine derivative,sino-wcj-33(SW33),tested it for antitumor activity on GBM and explored the underlying mechanism.SW33 significantly inhibited proliferation and colony formation of GBM and reduced migration and invasion of U87 and U251 cells.It also arrested the cell cycle at G2/M phase and induced mitochondria-dependent apoptosis.Differential gene enrichment analysis and pathway validation showed that SW33 exerted anti-GBM effects by regulating PI3 K/AKT and AMPK signaling pathways and significantly suppressed tumorigenicity with no obvious adverse effects on the body.SW33 also induced autophagy through the PI3 K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK/mTOR pathways.Thus,SW33 appears to be a promising drug for treating GBM effectively and safely.Xiangjin Zheng Wan Li Huanli Xu Jinyi Liu Liwen Ren Yihui Yang Sha Li Jinhua Wang Tengfei Ji Guanhua Du 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11:15

11A Fast Aerial Image Matching Method Using Airborne LiDAR Point Cloud and POS Data显示文摘A novel tie point matching algorithm of aerial images with the assistance of airborne LiDAR point clouds and POS data is proposed Firstly,the conjugate point searching strategy used in traditional correlation coefficient matching is improved and a fast algorithm is presented.Secondly,an automatic camera boresight misalignment calibration method based on virtual ground control points is proposed,and then the searching range of image matching is adaptively determined and applied to the image matching of the entire surveying area.Test results verified that the fast correlation coefficient matching algorithm proposed in this paper can reduce approximately 25% of the matching time without the loss of matching accuracy.The camera boresight misalignment calibration method can effectively increase the accuracy of exterior orientation elements of images calculated from POS data,and thus can significantly improve the predicted position of conjugate point for tie point matching.Our proposed image matching algorithm can achieve superior matching accuracy with multi-scale,multi-view,and cross-flight aerial images.Yongjun ZHANG Xiaodong XIONG Mengqiu WANG Yihui LU 2019Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2019,2,1:10
12TNF-α suppresses sweat gland differentiation of MSCs by reducing FTO-mediated m^6 A-demethylation of Nanog mRNA显示文摘An effect of inhibition of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)on differentiation of mesenchymal stromal cells(MSCs)has been demonstrated,but the exact mechanisms that govern MSCs differentiation remain to be further elucidated.Here,we show that TNF-αinhibits the differentiation of MSCs to sweat glands in a specific sweat gland-inducing environment,accompanied with reduced expression of Nanog,a core pluripotency factor.We elucidated that fat mass and obesity-associated protein(FTO)-mediated m^6 A demethylation is involved in the regulation of MSCs differentiation potential.Exposure of MSCs to TNF-αreduced expression of FTO,which demethylated Nanog m RNA.Reduced expression of FTO increased Nanog m RNA methylation,decreased Nanog m RNA and protein expression,and significantly inhibited MSCs capacity for differentiation to sweat gland cells.Our finding is the first to elucidate the functional importance of m^6 A modification in MSCs,providing new insights that the microenvironment can regulate the multipotency of MSCs at the post-transcriptional level.Moreover,to maintain differentiation capacity of MSCs by regulating m^6 A modification suggested a novel potential therapeutic target for stem cellmediated regenerative medicine.Yihui Wang Rui Wang Bin Yao Tian Hu Zhao Li Yufan Liu Xiaoli Cui Liuhanghang Cheng Wei Song Sha Huang Xiaobing Fu 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1:9
13How do Chinese medicines that tonify the kidney inhibit dopaminergic neuron apoptosis?显示文摘Wistar rats were intragastrically perfused with Chinese medicines used for tonifying the kidney.These included 0.180 g/mL of Herba Epimedii(Epimedium), Semen Cuscutae(Dodder Seed), or Herba Cistanches(Desertliving Cistanche), 0.04 mg/mL monoamine oxidase-B inhibitor selegiline,or distilled water for 14 consecutive days to prepare drug-containing serum or blank serum.MES23.5 cells in the logarithmic phase were cultured in media supplemented with 15%drug-containing serum for 24 hours, followed by incubation in culture solution containing 100 μmol/L H2O2for 3 hours. 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) and flow cytometry results showed that all drug-containing serums improved the survival rate of H2O2-injured MES23.5 cells, inhibited pro-apoptotic FasL and caspase-3 expression, promoted anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 expression. However, drug-containing serums had little influence on Fas expression in H2O2-injured MES23.5 cells. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay results showed that serum containing Herba Cistanches or Herba Epimedii increased the expression of nerve growth factor,brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor in injured MES23.5cells; serum containing Semen Cuscutae only increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression; while expression of the above neurotrophic factors remained the same in cells treated with serum containing selegiline. 14The 2020/21 Extremely Cold Winter in China Influenced by the Synergistic Effect of La Niña and Warm Arctic显示文摘In the first half of winter 2020/21,China has experienced an extremely cold period across both northern and southern regions,with record-breaking low temperatures set in many stations of China.Meanwhile,a moderate La Niña event which exceeded both oceanic and atmospheric thresholds began in August 2020 and in a few months developed into its mature phase,just prior to the 2020/21 winter.In this report,the mid−high-latitude large-scale atmospheric circulation anomalies in the Northern Hemisphere,which were forced by the negative phase of Arctic Oscillation,a strengthened Siberian High,an intensified Ural High and a deepened East Asian Trough,are considered to be the direct reason for the frequent cold surges in winter 2020/21.At the same time,the synergistic effect of the warm Arctic and the cold tropical Pacific(La Niña)provided an indispensable background,at a hemispheric scale,to intensify the atmospheric circulation anomalies in middle-to-high latitudes.In the end,a most recent La Niña prediction is provided and the on-coming evolution of climate is discussed for the remaining part of the 2020/21 winter for the purpose of future decision-making and early warning.Fei ZHENG Yuan YUAN Yihui DING Kexin LI Xianghui FANG Yuheng ZHAO Yue SUN Jiang ZHU Zongjian KE Ji WANG Xiaolong JIA 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,4:7
15Injectable peptide hydrogel as intraperitoneal triptolide depot for the treatment of orthotopic hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Chemotherapy is among the limited choices approved for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) at intermediate and advanced stages. Preferential and prolonged drug exposure in diseased sites is required to maximize the therapeutic index of the drug. Here, we report an injectable supramolecular peptide hydrogel as an intraperitoneal depot for localized and sustained release of triptolide for the treatment of orthotopic HCC. We chose peptide amphiphile C16-GNNQQNYKD-OH-based nanofibers as gelators and carriers for triptolide. Sustained triptolide release from the hydrogel was achieved over 14 days in vitro, with higher accumulation in and cytotoxicity against human HCC Bel-7402 in comparison with L-02 fetal hepatocytes. After intraperitoneal injection, the hydrogel showed prolonged retention over 13 days and preferential accumulation in the liver, realizing HCC growth inhibition by99.7 ± 0.1% and animal median survival extension from 19 to 43 days, without causing noticeable pathological changes in the major organs. 16Upper-Ocean Dynamical Features and Prediction of the Super El Nino in 2015/16:A Comparison with the Cases in 1982/83 and 1997/98显示文摘The 2015/16 super El Ni?o event has been widely recognized as comparable to the 1982/83 and 1997/98 El Ni?o events.This study examines the main features of upper-ocean dynamics in this new super event,contrasts them to those in the two historical super events,and quantitatively compares the major oceanic dynamical feedbacks based on a mixed-layer heat budget analysis of the tropical Pacific.During the early stage,this new event is characterized by an eastward propagation of SST anomalies and a weak warm-pool El Ni?o;whereas during its mature phase,it is characterized by a weak westward propagation and a westward-shifted SST anomaly center,mainly due to the strong easterly wind and cold upwelling anomalies in the far eastern Pacific,as well as the westward anomalies of equatorial zonal current and subsurface ocean temperature.The heat budget analysis shows that the thermocline feedback is the most crucial process inducing the SST anomaly growth and phase transition of all the super events,and particularly for this new event,the zonal advective feedback also exerts an important impact on the formation of the strong warming and westward-shifted pattern of SST anomalies.During this event,several westerly wind burst events occur,and oceanic Kelvin waves propagate eastwards before being maintained over eastern Pacific in the mature stage.Meanwhile,there is no evidence for westward propagation of the off-equatorial oceanic Rossby waves though the discharging process of equatorial heat during the development and mature stages.The second generation El Ni?o prediction system of the Beijing Climate Center produced reasonable event real-time operational prediction during 2014–16,wherein the statistical prediction model that considers the preceding oceanic precursors plays an important role in the multi-method ensemble prediction of this super.Hong-Li REN Run WANG Panmao ZHAI Yihui DING Bo LU 2017Journal of Meteorological Research2017,31,2:6
17Electroacupuncture at Tianshu (ST 25) for diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome using positron emission tomography Changes in visceral sensation center显示文摘Previous studies have demonstrated that electroacupuncture therapy is effective in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. However, the precise mechanism of this therapy is unknown. The present study served to investigate the effects of electroacupuncture therapy on treatment of patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). We compared brain activation maps based on the changes of cerebral glucose metabolism obtained by 18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography scanning under three conditions: resting, rectal balloon distension and rectal balloon distension plus electroacupuncture. Under the resting condition, compared with healthy controls, IBS patients displayed an increasing regional cerebral metabolic rate of glucose over a wide range: bilateral superior temporal gyrus, right middle occipital gyrus, superior frontal gyrus and bilateral middle frontal gyrus. However, there was no significant activity in the visceral pain center. Compared with the resting condition, under the rectal balloon distension condition, patients with IBS had a greater regional cerebral metabolic rate of glucose in the prefrontal cortex, left anterior cingulate cortex, postcentral gyrus, precentral gyrus and temporal gyrus. Under the rectal balloon distension plus electroacupuncture condition, stimulation by electroacupuncture at Tianshu (ST 25) manifested a decreased regional cerebral metabolic rate of glucose in the left cingulate gyrus, right insula, right caudate nucleus, fusiform gyrus and hippocampal gyrus. 18Arsenic trioxide encapsulated liposomes prepared via copper acetate gradient loading method and its antitumor efficiency显示文摘In this study, arsenic trioxide(ATO) was encapsulated in liposomes via copper acetate(Cu(OAc)2) gradients and high entrapment efficiency of over 80% was obtained. The average particle size and the zeta-potential of the liposomes were detected to be 115.1 ± 29.1 nm and-21.97 ± 0.6 m V, respectively. The TEM images showed rod-like precipitates in the inner aqueous phase, which was supposed be due to the formation of insoluble ATO–Cu complex.The in vitro drug release of ATO–Cu liposomes exhibited a sustained release over 72 h, and the release rates decreased with the increase of the p H of release media. Pharmacokinetic and tissue distribution studies of ATO liposomes showed significantly reduced plasma clearance rate, increased AUC0–12h and T1/2, and improved tumor distribution of As compared to iv administration of ATO solution. The anti-tumor effect of ATO loaded liposomes to S180 tumor-bearing mice was significantly improved with a tumor inhibition rate of 61.2%,meanwhile the toxicity of encapsulated ATO was greatly decreased. 19Metro train rescheduling by adding backup trains under disrupted scenarios显示文摘In large cities with heavily congested metro lines, unexpected disturbances often occur, which may cause severe delay of multiple trains, blockage of partial lines, and reduction of passenger service. Metro dispatchers have taken a practical strategy of rescheduling the timetable and adding several backup trains in storage tracks to alleviate waiting passengers from crowding the platforms and recover from such disruptions. In this study,we first develop a mixed integer programming model to determine the optimal train rescheduling plan with considerations of in-service and backup trains. The aim of train rescheduling is to frequently dispatch trains to evacuate delayed passengers after the disruption. Given the nonlinearity of the model, several linearization techniques are adapted to reformulate the model into an equivalent linear model that can be easily handled by the optimization software. 20Redirecting differentiation of mammary progenitor cells by 3D bioprinted sweat gland microenvironment显示文摘Background:Mammary progenitor cells(MPCs)maintain their reproductive potency through life,and their specific microenvironments exert a deterministic control over these cells.MPCs provides one kind of ideal tools for studying engineered microenvironmental influence because of its accessibility and continually undergoes postnatal developmental changes.The aim of our study is to explore the critical role of the engineered sweat gland(SG)microenvironment in reprogramming MPCs into functional SG cells.Methods:We have utilized a three-dimensional(3D)SG microenvironment composed of gelatin-alginate hydrogels and components from mouse SG extracellular matrix(SG-ECM)proteins to reroute the differentiation of MPCs to study the functions of this microenvironment.MPCs were encapsulated into the artificial SG microenvironment and were printed into a 3D cell-laden construct.The expression of specific markers at the protein and gene levels was detected after cultured 14 days.Results:Compared with the control group,immunofluorescence and gene expression assay demonstrated that MPCs encapsulated in the bioprinted 3D-SG microenvironment could significantly express the functional marker of mouse SG,sodium/potassium channel protein ATP1a1,and tend to express the specific marker of luminal epithelial cells,keratin-8.When the Shh pathway is inhibited,the expression of SG-associated proteins in MPCs under the same induction environment is significantly reduced.Conclusions:Our evidence proved the ability of differentiated mouse MPCs to regenerate SG cells by engineered SG microenvironment in vitro and Shh pathway was found to be correlated with the changes in the differentiation.These results provide insights into regeneration of damaged SG by MPCs and the role of the engineered microenvironment in reprogramming cell fate.Rui Wang Yihui Wang Bin Yao Tian Hu Zhao Li Yufan Liu Xiaoli Cui Liuhanghang Cheng Wei Song Sha Huang Xiaobing Fu 2019Burns & Trauma2019,7,1:5
