| 2 | Taiga: Performance Optimization of the C4.5 Decision Tree Construction Algorithm显示文摘Classification is an important machine learning problem, and decision tree construction algorithms are an important class of solutions to this problem. Rain Forest is a scalable way to implement decision tree construction algorithms. It consists of several algorithms, of which the best one is a hybrid between a traditional recursive implementation and an iterative implementation which uses more memory but involves less write operations. We propose an optimized algorithm inspired by Rain Forest. By using a more sophisticated switching criterion between the two algorithms, we are able to get a performance gain even when all statistical information fits in memory. | 3 | Correction Method of Light Hydrocarbons Losing and Heavy Hydrocarbon Handling for Residual Hydrocarbon (S_1) from Shale显示文摘In China, hot researches on shale oil were raised by the important breakthrough of shale oil in America. Obviously, the first important issue is the actual shale oil resource potential of China, and the selection of the key appraisement parameter is vital to the shale oil resource amount. Among the appraisement parameters, the oil content parameter(S1) is the key one, but the evaluation result is generally lower because of light hydrocarbon losing and heavy hydrocarbon handling. And the more important thing is that the light hydrocarbon with small molecular weight is more recoverable, and therefore its amount is important to the total shale oil yields. Based on pyrolysis experiments and the kinetic model of hydrocarbon generation, correction factors and a model of light hydrocarbon losing and heavy hydrocarbon handling were established. | 4 | Preparation and characterization of vanadium(IV) oxide supported on SBA-15 and its catalytic performance in benzene hydroxylation to phenol using molecular oxygen显示文摘Preparation of dispersed transition metal oxides catalyst with low oxidation state still remains a challenging task in heterogeneous catalysis.In this study,vanadium oxides supported on zeolite SBA-15 have been prepared under hydrothermal condition using V 2 O 5 and oxalic acid as sources of vanadium and reductant,respectively.The structures of samples,especially the oxidation state of vanadium,and the surface distribution of vanadium oxide species,have been thoroughly characterized using various techniques,including N 2-physisorption,X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),UV-visible spectra(UV-Vis) and UV-visible-near infrared spectra(UV-Vis-NIR).It is found that the majority of supported vanadium was in the form of vanadium(IV) oxide species with the low valence of vanadium.By adjusting hydrothermal treatment time,the surface distribution of vanadium(IV) oxide species can be tuned from vanadium(IV) oxide cluster to crystallites.These materials have been tested in the hydroxylation of benzene to phenol in liquid-phase with molecular oxygen in the absence of reductant.The catalyst exhibits high selectivity for phenol(61%) at benzene conversion of 4.6%,which is a relatively good result in comparison with other studies employing molecular oxygen as the oxidant. | Xing Chen Wenguang Zhao Feng Wang Jie Xu | 2012 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,5: | 5 |
| 5 | Influence of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of an Ultrafine-Grained WC-12Co Cemented Carbide显示文摘Effect of deep cryogenic treatment(DCT) on the microstructures and mechanical behavior of ultrafine-grained WC-12 Co cemented carbide was investigated by using XRD, SEM, and DSC. The phase transformations of pure Co and binder phase Co in cemented carbide were analyzed in detail to correlate the strengthening mechanism with its a→ε phase transition. The results show that DCT resulted in a slight increase in hardness and bending strength of ultrafinegrained WC-12 Co cemented carbide. For the ultrafine-grained cemented carbide after DCT, there is no significant change in the microstructure and the elemental distribution of the cemented carbides, but the fractured morphology shows a feature of plastic deformation. In the cases of pure Co and the binder phase Co in WC-12 Co cemented carbide, they exhibit different features of phase transformation. | 8 | DAMAGE DETECTION BASED ON OPTIMIZED INCOMPLETE MODE SHAPE AND FREQUENCY显示文摘For the purpose of structural health monitoring, a damage detection method combined with optimum sensor placement is proposed in this paper. The back sequential sensor placement(BSSP) algorithm is introduced to optimize the sensor locations with the aim of maximizing the 2-norm of information matrix, since the EI method is not suitable for optimum sensor placement based on eigenvector sensitivity analysis. Structural damage detection is carried out based on the respective advantages of mode shape and frequency. The optimized incomplete mode shapes yielded from the optimal sensor locations are used to localize structural damage. After the potential damage elements have been preliminarily identified, an iteration scheme is adopted to estimate the damage extent of the potential damage elements based on the changes in the frequency. | 11 | Heterogeneous Parallel Algorithm Design and Performance Optimization for WENO on the Sunway TaihuLight Supercomputer显示文摘A Weighted Essentially Non-Oscillatory scheme(WENO) is a solution to hyperbolic conservation laws,suitable for solving high-density fluid interface instability with strong intermittency. These problems have a large and complex flow structure. To fully utilize the computing power of High Performance Computing(HPC) systems, it is necessary to develop specific methodologies to optimize the performance of applications based on the particular system’s architecture. The Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer is currently ranked as the fastest supercomputer in the world. This article presents a heterogeneous parallel algorithm design and performance optimization of a high-order WENO on Sunway TaihuLight. We analyzed characteristics of kernel functions, and proposed an appropriate heterogeneous parallel model. We also figured out the best division strategy for computing tasks,and implemented the parallel algorithm on Sunway TaihuLight. | 13 | LogGPO:An accurate communication model for performance prediction of MPI programs显示文摘Message passing interface (MPI) is the de facto standard in writing parallel scientific applications on distributed memory systems. Performance prediction of MPI programs on current or future parallel systems can help to find system bottleneck or optimize programs. To effectively analyze and predict performance of a large and complex MPI program, an efficient and accurate communication model is highly needed. A series of communication models have been proposed, such as the LogP model family, which assume that the sending overhead, message transmission, and receiving overhead of a communication is not overlapped and there is a maximum overlap degree between computation and communication. However, this assumption does not always hold for MPI programs because either sending or receiving overhead introduced by MPI implementations can decrease potential overlap for large messages. In this paper, we present a new communication model, named LogGPO, which captures the potential overlap between computation with communication of MPI programs. We design and implement a trace-driven simulator to verify the LogGPO model by predicting performance of point-to-point communication and two real applications CG and Sweep3D. | 15 | Study on cellular internalization of poly(vinyldiaminotriazine)-based hydrogen bonding type non-viral transgene vector显示文摘Previously we successfully prepared poly(vinyldiaminotriazine)(PVDT)-based non-viral vectors which complexed plasmid DNA via hydrogen bonding with adenine-thymine base pairs. In this report, surface charges and complex sizes of this system were further examined. The results showed that PVDT-based polymer could cover surface charges of DNA resulting in slightly negative or neutral complexes. It was also found that the complex sizes were governed by two events: the aggregation induced by the insta-bility of neutral particles, and more compact complexes produced by PVDT-based polymers. In the study of cellular uptake, chlorpromazine and filipin Ⅲ were used to inhibit clathrin- and caveolae-me- diated endocytosis, respectively. We found that PVDT-based systems were transported into cells via a non-clathrin, non-caveolae mediated endocytosis. This special process was studied by temperature inhibition and kinetics assays. | 16 | Validation of Column-Averaged Dry-Air Mole Fraction of CO_2 Retrieved from OCO-2 Using Ground-Based FTS Measurements显示文摘In order to correctly use the column-averaged atmospheric CO_2 dry-air mole fraction(XCO_2) data in the CO_2 flux studies, XCO_2 measurements retrieved from the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2(OCO-2) in 2015 were compared with those obtained from the global ground-based high-resolution Fourier Transform Spectrometer(FTS) participating in the Total Carbon Column Observing Network(TCCON). The XCO_2 retrieved from three observing modes adopted by OCO-2, i.e., nadir, target, and glint, were separately validated by the FTS measurements at up to eight TCCON stations located in different areas. These comparisons show that OCO-2 glint mode yields the best qualitative estimations of CO_2 concentration among the three operational approaches. The overall results regarding the glint mode show no obvious systematic biases. These facts may indicate that the glint concept is appropriate for not only oceans but also land regions. Negative systematic biases in nadir and target modes have been found at most TCCON sites. The standard deviations of XCO_2 retrieved from target and nadir modes within the observation period are similar, and larger than those from glint mode. We also used the FTS site in Beijing, China, to assess the OCO-2 XCO_2 in 2016. This site is located in a typical urban area, which has been absent in previous studies. Overall, OCO-2 XCO_2 agrees well with that from FTS at this site. | 19 | Helmholtz Solving and Performance Optimization in Global/Regional Assimilation and Prediction System显示文摘Despite efficient parallelism in the solution of physical parameterization in the Global/Regional Assimilation and Prediction System(GRAPES),the Helmholtz equation in the dynamic core,with the increase of resolution,can hardly achieve sufficient parallelism in the solving process due to a large amount of communication and irregular access.In this paper,optimizing the Helmholtz equation solution for better performance and higher efficiency has been an urgent task.An optimization scheme for the parallel solution of the Helmholtz equation is proposed in this paper.Specifically,the geometrical multigrid optimization strategy is designed by taking advantage of the data anisotropy of grid points near the pole and the isotropy of those near memory equator in the Helmholtz equation,and the Incomplete LU(ILU)decomposition preconditioner is adopted to speed up the convergence of the improved Generalized Conjugate Residual(GCR),which effectively reduces the number of iterations and the computation time.The overall solving performance of the Helmholtz equation is improved by thread-level parallelism,vectorization,and reuse of data in the cache.The experimental results show that the proposed optimization scheme can effectively eliminate the bottleneck of the Helmholtz equation as regards the solving speed.Considering the test results on a 10-node two-way server,the solution of the Helmholtz equation,compared with the original serial version,is accelerated by 100,with one-third of iterations reduced. | Jianqiang Huang Wei Xue Haodong Bian Wenxin Yan Xiaoying Wang Wenguang Chen | 2021 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2021,26,3: | 2 |
| 20 | Efficient recovery of valuable metals from waste printed circuit boards by microwave pyrolysis显示文摘The recycling of waste printed circuit board(WPCBs) is of great significance for saving resources and protecting the environment. In this study, the WPCBs were pyrolyzed by microwave and the contained valuable metals Cu, Sn and Pb were recovered from the pyrolyzed WPCBs. The effect of pyrolysis temperature and time on the recovery efficiency of valuable metals was investigated. Additionally, the characterization for morphology and surface elemental distribution of pyrolysis residues was carried out to investigate the pyrolysis mechanism. The plastic fiber boards turned into black carbides, and they can be easily separated from the metals by manual. The results indicate that 91.2%, 96.1% and 94.4% of Cu, Sn and Pb can be recovered after microwave pyrolysis at 700 °C for 60 minutes. After pyrolysis, about 79.8%(mass)solid products, 11.9%(mass) oil and 8.3%(mass) gas were produced. These gas and oil can be used as fuel and raw materials of organic chemicals, respectively.
